MERCURY IN CAPRICORN IN 2017

Mercury turned direct on January 8 or 9, 2017 (depending on where you live) in the final degrees of Sagittarius.  It will move into Capricorn on the 13^th of January, 2017, in Canada and will remain in Capricorn until February 8 when it moves into Aquarius.

For those with their Sun in Capricorn, Mercury will make a conjunction to the Sun during these dates.  Mercury is a very neutral planet taking on the energies of whatever it touches by planetary placement, house placement as well as any planetary angles that it receives.

Since Mercury rules the mind and the thinking process as well as communicative techniques, when it is in direct motion and in the sign of Capricorn it might be a good time for serious thoughts about your future.  Take into consideration any goals that you might have to achieve or your aspirations and move forward with them.  Make sure you are not taking any shortcuts and also be sure that they are realistic and reachable, although the higher you aim, the greater the rewards.  Your goals must be feasible and genuine in their nature.  Are you willing to do the work it takes to make them happen?

Your overall thinking process is more aligned during this period and practical matters can be dealt with in a very precise manner.  Make sure to check the natal potential while deciphering what is actually attainable.  If Mercury is poorly aspected in the birth chart, it is important to take into consideration that the goals or objects that you are trying to pursue are attainable, even though they may be challenged at times.  This is particularly true if Neptune is in poor aspect to Mercury as Neptune tends to colour things and often causes circumstances to be unclear. 

Capricorn can be a bit ridged in its behaviour and you will have to watch for becoming overly concerned with your achievements.  You will become more logical in your thinking and able to concentrate on the matters at hand, especially if they are business related.  Negativity can enter the process if you fall short of reaching these objectives and pessimism can set in.  Watch for this!  Stay open to solving any obstacles that may stand in your way, as you have the capabilities to overcome interference by using your reasoning and communicative abilities.  The mind is more focused and serious, and what you say and do will have more of an impact than under normal conditions.

You will have an ability to deal with what is considered relevant to the matters at hand and will be able to focus your attention better.  Your mind is sharp and anything related to business and enterprise has a greater than average ability to work well during this time.  Changes to the way you represent yourself through communication techniques can change if you think this necessary.  Your communication techniques are sharpened and more precise, and you can deal with anything that requires your attention.

When Mercury goes direct it will be a much better time to sign any contracts than during the prior period when Mercury was in its retrograde cycle.  You probably will not need to re-do what you are doing or re-think your actions now that Mercury is direct and life generally run more smooth.  The retrograde cycle is often accompanied with plans having to change and things not working out the way you thought that they might.  Your would have to have been flexible while Mercury was in retrograde.

CAPRICORN SUN CONJUNCT PLUTO 2017

In the upcoming year Pluto will be moving between 16-19 degrees of Capricorn.  Those with the Sun even as far back as 9 to 10 degrees Capricorn and as far forward as 26 to 27 degrees Capricorn will be affected by this transit of Pluto by conjunction. 

Pluto is a very powerful planet which often brings with it transformation, regeneration and sweeping changes.  Pluto’s action is not overly passive but often you will get a semi-gentle reminder that things need to go through alterations, and at times, even total renewal.  If life’s course needs to go through a transformation and you find that there is little hope of saving the situation, it might be advisable to let go and start anew willingly.  Pluto will often bring an end to redundant conditions in forceful ways.

The Sun often deals with your aims and objectives, your goals in life and you may have been working towards an end or objective for some time now.  This conjunction may signal that the culmination point is finally at hand.  Pluto does, however, insist that no leaf is left unturned and that moving forward now will also mean that what once was, will no longer be.  As mentioned, this could include your goals in life.  If by chance you have not been moving in the right direction for necessary changes or you have fallen short in reaching your objectives, this will be the time when you cut your losses and either make major changes or put an end once and for all to reaching these set goals.

The Sun is also a defining point when it comes to who you are, and Pluto will also insist that you have a good long, honest look at who you are and how you are representing yourself in life.  You may have to go deep to uncover any pushed aside character traits that you have not been willing to accept.  Now is the time to deal with them.  You may not like what you find but you will have to make some alterations and accept what you see in order to make the necessary changes that the soul energy now insists on bringing to the surface.  This can be challenging but worthwhile.

Sometimes the Sun will represent the father or an authority figure in your life or even the husband.  These apparent changes that now need to take place may involve one of these people in your life.  In rare cases (and there would have to be other mitigating factors in the chart suggesting the same) this could indicate an ending of sorts to these people; however, this is rare.  Please do not spend too much time mulling over this particular bit of information.  Pluto does speak of an end of conditions and the start of something that is new but necessary.  An ending does not necessarily mean physical death.

At any rate there are often great changes in store and it is suggested that you work persistently and carefully to move forward in your life.  It is rare that obstacles can actually deny us our goals or halt our current course in life.  You likely will find that you can persevere even in the face of adversity and overcome.  You are capable of achieving things that you never thought you would be able to.  It may be necessary to eliminate anything that no longer is necessary but you will have to go through these changes in order to find that which is now accessible to you to make these positive changes.  You will have great power and persistence to achieve almost anything during this phase, (like never before). 

Now is the time to move forward in your objectives and work hard to achieve what you set out to do no matter what stands in front of you.

NO REAL TIME

Is there truly a past, present and future?  What is time? 

In physical terms, we can say we are here today and we may be gone tomorrow, (tomorrow being sometime in the future).  The past, present and future are all concepts.  Time is manmade. 

On a spiritual level, we never die.  We are energy and energy is perpetual.  We move on from this physical realm as we now know it. 

Many of us believe that we are connected with God, whatever your concept of God may be.  If God has always been, what is our starting point?  We are energy.  Energy is perpetual.  Do we then have a beginning?  Some believe that we are part of God.  We have been told that God is indivisible.  How then can we be part of God?  Is it fair to say that we are part of the whole and have no beginning?

 

Again, time is manmade.  From a spiritual stance, there is no beginning and no end, so time is only important in human terms.  We were born during this life time as who we are, we learn, we mature, and we die physically, but the death we experience is only in body.  In spirit which is formless, we live on and enter our next stage of evolution in our energy form, whatever that may be.  Some say we return to our origin, but if we have always been, what exactly is our origin?

We are spiritual beings living in a physical experience.  Perhaps to get a clearer picture, we need to go deep within to rediscover recognition of our core self.  Many of us feel very limited with the time we have for self rediscovery because our days in this body are limited.  If we are limited in time for this discovery, how long do we have to make this discovery and how elaborate will this discovery be? 

Should our focus be self rediscovery or should we live our life and enjoy the moment? 

We learn through experience and we can enjoy our lives during every moment we exist. 

Be here now so that we do not miss out on any experience.  Allow and enjoy where life takes us.  Live it, love it, share it and have fun while we are here. 

Do not take yourself so seriously that life’s grip is too tight and we are not able to expand.  Allow!  Accept!  There is no time like the present.

URANUS, JUPITER AND SATURN IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS

For the next few months Uranus, Jupiter and Saturn’s energies are all in close degrees although in separate signs.  Without taking into consideration the aspects between these three giants, let’s just consider the energy that is being transmitted through them. 

Uranus is always searching for something new so it can break away from tradition, while Saturn wants to stay with tradition.  Jupiter tends to expand what it touches and also adds “flair” of philosophical understanding into the process. 

Uranus seeks to make us aware and wants us to break free of anything that is restricting our growth and advancement.  This planet’s energies tend to do so in erratic and unexpected ways. 

Saturn is the teacher and although its lessons can be challenging and tedious, the lessons and awakenings brought on through these two energies (Saturn and Uranus) can stir something from deep within that needs to surface and come to life.

Jupiter’s role in the overall process may be to help us become aware of the greater spirituality  overtones that reside deep inside us.  Jupiter brings with it opportunities for higher learning and a generous portion of good luck and optimism.  Jupiter will push us forward in our search for truth.  Saturn will make sure that we don’t miss any steps along the way by making us take our time and evaluate each step of the way.  It will cause us to re-evaluate, from time to time, what it is that we want to bring to the surface and spread into our lives.

Could this be an astrological formation that helps to bring about awareness of our inner connection to our true identity?  Could this be the time for us to forge ahead and allow the energies at hand to infiltrate our consciousness?  Our awakened higher self may be sending signals for us to emerge with our inner awareness.  This may take perseverance and a continued effort found more easily through meditative practices.

Uranus and Jupiter are in opposition.  Oppositions are suggestive of awakening or information coming from outside sources.  Saturn is sextile to Jupiter suggesting opportunities.  Saturn is also trine to Uranus suggesting an easier flow of intuitive knowledge, although not without some struggles.  If you take in the influence of Pluto (the planet of transformation and regeneration) as it is only out by 4 degrees, (although it is square to Jupiter and square to Uranus), its energies could be leading to some transformative experience.  Squares are what drive us although they do create some challenging conditions within the experience.

Here is a thought...something to ponder especially if you also have planetary links near the 20 degree mark.  I would imagine the level of awareness entrusted to each of us would hinge on the amount of exposure each of our charts indicate we are experiencing during this time frame, but it certainly is something to think about.  .  Have a look at where these planets are in your natal chart by house placement and also if they are making aspects to any planet or angle in your natal chart.   This will give you a clearer and more informative explanation of what might be happening specifically for you.

BLESSINGS

Make this day a special one by giving thanks for all that it holds.  You may go through struggles and life conditions may not be exactly what you would want them to be, but you are still here and living a life that allows you to grow, love and respond in your own way.  No matter what life throws at your (whether you want to label the events challenging or rewarding), it is more your attitude and focus on these things that set the stage then the events themselves.

We all experience blessings in our lives but at times we tend to look beyond them or take them for granted. 

Stop for a moment and look around you.  Have a really close look and see what is right in front of you.  Look at what you possessions (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually).  Review your capacity to think and process information, to rationalize.  What could you change about your life?  You are never stuck.  It may feel that way at times but that is only a concept.  You can move beyond barriers if you can move beyond the fear, if truly want to. 

Some of us have our health; some have great careers; some have children and friends that are the centre of their world; some have their fur babies who are loved dearly and their love for their pets is magnified by the love give back in return.  Most of us have food and water (which the majority of people in this world cannot take for granted) and many of us have an abundance of material wealth.  I have yet to meet one person who does not have love in some way or another.  Even those that feel that love has forsaken them know that it is only a belief structure that keeps this feeling alive.

Instead of looking at what is missing, look at what you have available to enjoy.  It is important to share your blessings in whatever way you can and there are countless ways to share life.  Take a close look my friends and recognize life for what it truly is for it is a blessing, a miracle and a gift.
