BEING WHO YOU ARE

When you first meet others or are interacting with others, allow these individuals to clearly see the inner you.  Fabricated or strained characteristics do not endorse the true you.  Although you may feel that this facade is necessary, being true to your real self is much more important than what others might think of you.  If you ask five different individuals what their opinion is of you, you will get five completely difference answers.

 

As we age, more and more we become more comfortable with our inner self.  Nothing is fictitious and we radiate something that is perfectly genuine.

 

When we present the true self, there are no false pretences and we emit a confidence that others easily pick up on.  We can be poised and nothing has to be hidden or altered.  We are who we are and this inner self is who we are supposed to be.   We are not meant to “play a part” so as to constantly adjusted to fit the occasion. 

 

Each one of us is perfect just the way we are.  Realize this.  All of the qualities that we wish to have are already part of who we are.  We are constantly growing and the end result will be exactly what we want it to be.

 

If you find a characteristic within yourself that you do not like, do not own it.  Simply acknowledge this quality and then let go.  Holding on to less than desirable traits or by identifying with them, you give these traits life.  When you choose to identify with positive characteristics, you build on them.  What you believe becomes reality.  Let’s make real those characteristics that bring us happiness.  The real you is the most positive and balanced individual you could possibly be.  There are no limitations to who you are.  You alone place limits on yourself.

KARMA

There are many individuals that seem to struggle through life and have their fair share of trauma.  Often we question why these types of events seem to come into our lives.  It is difficult to say why one soul has chosen a life of challenges and struggles and the next soul seems to glide through life with relative ease.

 

Some blame life’s difficulties on karma and that which has been brought forward into this life to settle the score, if you will.  This may hold a great deal of relevance and could certainly bring clearer understanding as to why some struggle while others do not.  Be that as it may, generally, most of us have little access to information on our pasts and we cannot recall past lives with ease.  Through continuous practice of meditation and through past life regressions however, these avenues of enlightenment are certainly reachable.

 

It hardly seems “just” to be riddled with karma from past lives especially when we are unaware of our actions in the past.  It should be clear that karma is the influence today of actions or lack of actions from the past.  Karma does not just have to be challenging conditions.  We are also influenced today by our positive actions of the past.  It is important to pay our dues but just as important to be grateful for all of our blessings.

 

There is a lot of evidence that supports the existence of Karma whether it is the influence of your actions from past lives or the influence from your actions of this life.  

 

Live your life with good intentions, through love and with a focus on the positive in your life. 

 

We recognize that our mind’s focus has great influence on our life.  By focusing on the happy and gratifying moments in our life, we are open to and invite more of the same for the future.  With continued practice of focusing our minds, we can awaken to the power of positive influences in our life and actually draw these types of things in on a continuous basis.  We have not been placed into this incarnation to suffer and continually be influenced by past lives.

 

You owe it to yourself to bring forward the positive influences that are yours.  By living through good intent now, you reduce the challenging karma that you may have to endure in the next lifetime.

NORTH NODE CANCER IN ASTROLOGY

As we have now moved into the sign of Cancer, we thought we would share a line or two about being born with a Cancer North Node.  As defined in an earlier post, the North and South Nodes depicts past incarnations as well as the present incarnation.  The Nodes point out what we are here to accomplish in this life and what we should be staying away from.  The North Node is our destiny while the South Node deals with the past lives and what we have brought forward into this incarnation.

 

With the North Node in Cancer, the South Node would be in Capricorn.  The North and South Nodes are always directly opposite one another.  With a Capricorn South Node in a past life, you would have been attuned to business and public status.  You may have had influences into world affairs and you may have been the one making laws that others had to follow.

 

Now with the North Node in Cancer, you have come into this life to move away from a career focus and are to discover what family life and nurturing is all about.  This does not mean that you are to step back from financial obligations.  It suggests that you have come into this life to create a balance between the two.

 

Most individuals with this Nodal position have difficulties opening up to feelings of nurturing and are here to learn the art of both giving and receiving through love and compassion.  In their younger years, these individuals might still have been consumed by the South Node tendencies and it would have been easy to remain cool and somehow detached especially when it came to emotional issues.  As they mature, they will notice that emotional confrontations are part of life.  Individuals with the North node in Cancer will have to learn to deal with these issues and locate places within themselves that allow them to be more sensitive to the feelings of others.

Integrity

TIMING OUTER TRANSITS IN ASTROLOGY

We have been asked to explain the timing of the outer transits to Natal placements in the horoscope.  Uranus, Neptune and Pluto move through the heavens very slowly.  Pluto and Neptune often only move 1 to 3 degrees per year.  The normal influence of transits of the outer planets to Natal placements (Ascendant and Midheaven) and Planets is approximately 3 to 5 degrees approaching and then usually 2 degrees separating. 

 

The influence of these transiting planets is often subtle as they approach and then intensify as they move closer to being direct.  When they are within 1 degree of orb in aspect to the Natal placements, their influence intensifies and becomes quite apparent.  When they are within tight orb, (1 degree or less) look to transiting Mars, the progressed Moon and even the progressed Sun to stir up activity in the areas of life (houses) that are being activated.

 

These influences will make an aspect to the Natal planet being affected by the transiting outer planet and activate or cause something to occur.  This will tighten the timing factor significantly and are used in conjunction with a Solar chart (a look at the upcoming year) to ascertain a common denominator for potentially events.  Transiting Uranus, when exact to its Natal position, often creates some action in the area of life that is being affected even by its self with no other influences.

 

You must also take into consideration what other Natal planets are connected to the Natal planet being transited by these outer planets.  If there are other factors in the Natal chart (for example transiting Pluto is conjuncting your natal Venus and Venus natally is aspected by Mars and Saturn), the transit of Pluto will also affect these planets.  The influence of Pluto will not be over until it is out of orb with Mars and Saturn as well in this example.

 

Using this information will offer much assistance in locating a time when action or internal adjustment might take place.  If you use this method, it helps to narrow down the time frame for that specific event even though the affects of the outer planet has an influence during the whole period of time.  You will have a much better idea of timing for these possible events.

THE SHIFT

Take a close look around you.  Are people around you changing or shifting their attitudes or is all basically remaining the same?  What is your current situation?

The beauty of a snowflake and natural curvatures found in a wave as it gently moves across a lake are all splendors of nature and they share their serenity with anyone who is open to their experience.  We are the simple observers.  We merely need to allow these sensations to envelop us.  Find a place of solitude during times of strife.  Watch as nature gently moves you away from your focus of aggravation without the aid of any substance or even a calming word. 

 

Nature speaks in volumes.  It stills the mind.  It leaves you in a sense of wonderment and you can become lost in its beauty.  We are part of nature.  It is this connection that allows us to experience natures’ calming spirit and to soften our turbulent experiences.  Meditate in nature and listen to the whisper of the wind hustling through the trees.  It is anything but silent, yet moves us to a place of peace.  The breaking of waves on the shoreline calms our nerves and eases our concerns, naturally.

 

It is not by co-incidence that we call our magnificent planet, Mother Earth.  It provides us with all the sustenance we need and offers comfort during time of trouble.  It gently speaks to us in a tongue that is understood by us all.  This is our home.  It exonerates our stress simply by allowing us to release through its very beauty.

THE SIGN OF CANCER IN ASTROLOGY

The Sun moves into the sign of Cancer this weekend.  Anyone with their Sun in this sign, strong planetary influences in the fourth house, Sun in the fourth house and the Rising sign in Cancer will find their character traits reflected in what is written below.

 

The Sun Sign represents who we are on the inside and, among other things, has to do with our identity and the way we embrace this earthly existence.  The Ascendant or Rising Sign is an expression of who we are on the outside and how others see us.  Keep this in mind and understand the difference between the Ascendant and the Sun when you review these Cancer tendencies.

TRANSITING JUPITER IN LEO

Jupiter is the planet of expansive enthusiasm and optimistic points of view.  It encompasses all that radiates on the higher octaves of life and is associated with good luck, opportunities for growth and quite often growth on a spiritual level.  It brings with it optimistic realizations and a belief in potential future opportunities that can be reflected in philosophical learnings and encompasses religious doctrines and higher philosophies.

 

Jupiter enters the sign of Leo on July 17 in 2014 and remains in this sign until August 12, 2015.  Leo is a fire sign and Jupiter in this element will trine all other planetary locations and angles in this same element.  Jupiter in aspect to any planet or angle regardless of aspect (with the exception with aspects to Saturn) depicts opportunities for growth and a positive influence in our lives.

Jupiter is usually a positive influence in your life but can also lead to overconfidence or laziness because things just seem to flow in a fortunate manner.  Jupiter at times can lead to neglectfulness as there can be a feeling that things can look after themselves with little influence on your part.  Jupiter has a tendency to expand everything it touches and when aspected to your ascendant especially by square or opposition, it can also inflate the waste line or overconfidence in your own abilities.

 

It is, however, a good time to make the extra effort as there are more opportunities for growth-- growth in spirituality (12^th house) opportunities, to enhance or gain recognition in your career (10^th house) or potential romantic involvement or growth to the family (5^th house) just to name a few.  If you were to push a little harder, the chances for things working positively are enhanced, especially with the trine, the sextile and most conjunctions.  Jupiter does not guarantee success and abundance in areas of life but provides better opportunities to achieve these things.

 

If there are links to the ninth, twelfth or eighth houses, the opportunities for internal growth are highly suggested.  This could be a great time of self-discovery, perhaps through travel (ninth house), through the occult and mystical pursuits (eighth or twelfth) although the twelfth may indicate changes and opportunities for growth through somewhat hidden channels, such as through the sub-conscious or through dream interpretations.  Jupiter generally provides a more philosophical approach to all of life’s endeavours.

IN TIMES OF DESPERATION

When you are faced with circumstances that seem to provide no outlet, there is always a place you can retreat to.  This place can be found within where solitude and peace will assist you to transpose your attitude towards the difficult events at hand.  There is a place within that provides you with what is needed to move you past life’s most difficult situations.

 

This place is found when have reached your breaking point, and you feel that there is nothing left that can assist you and push you past these overwhelming times.  The strength that you are looking for to help you overcome life’s trials and tribulations is always accessible, but usually found in the seemingly last moment.  When all else fails, you look within to find the strength to make it through that final barrier.

 

You were born for this.  Although the barriers seem too high, you always have what it takes.  Never forget this.  There is no challenge that you cannot meet or overcome; there is no wall that is impenetrable.  You are stronger than you think and the necessary strength is at your disposal. 

 

You need to face up to these challenging situations.  They help you to unfold your potential and move you forward in your intended direction.  Obstacles are stepping stones placed in your way to overcome and dissolve.  Do not underestimate your ability.  Any obstruction is matched equally with your internal fortitude and your ability to overcome.

The first Saturn return takes place at approximately 27-30 years of age.  The second Saturn return occurs at approximately 56-60 and the third at 84-90.  The forth return which is rarely experiences takes place between the ages of 114-118. 

The Natal or birth chart is a snapshot of the heavens at the moment of birth, from that moment on the planets keep on their rotational path.  Each planet eventually returns to the placement it was at on your birth, but the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) take a long time to complete their cycles.  Saturn takes between 28-29 years to complete its cycle, Uranus takes 84 years.  The other two most outer planets take much longer and we do not live long enough to experience their return.

Saturn (which will be discussed at a later date in greater detail) has a profound impact in our lives.  It produces stress and presents us with obstacles whenever it becomes activated in our charts.  It is as though we have come to a stumbling block or crossroad in our development and we are forces to take a good look at our lives in order to make some needed changes.  These times are very trying and can last a significant period of time, especially if there are other planetary forces at work during the same period.

We have touched a little on houses in previous posts and will go deeper into these areas of life later in other posts, but depending where Saturn is located in your birth chart and what aspects it is making to other planets, these particular areas of life (houses) will become activated.  The intensity and duration of the lesson depends largely on the other planets that are stimulating the area and how long they transit (transit is the motion of the planet) and what aspects (aspects are angles between planets) they make to each other.

Fool's Gold

As we move forward on our earthly journey, beware of becoming too wrapped up in life’s material pursuits.  It is far too easy for us to get sidetracked from our original intention by these sometimes inviting attractions.  There is always a nicer home, a new car, a beautiful piece of jewellery, magnificent new styles for cloths, and the list goes on.  No wonder is it so easy to get trapped in the material world.  Often the outcome of such attractions is the need for more and you will notice that the newness wears off quickly and true satisfaction or contentment is never accomplished.

Remember you are a soul living in a human body.  Your connection to higher principles is what matters.  There is no lasting significance in material abundance or financial gain, although a savings account does provide a certain amount of security that is necessary in our material world.  It is important to understand that focusing on material gains usually leads to material want and the feeling of never having enough.  Worrying about money only serves to furnish more worry and adds to the desire for more.

Finances tend to look after themselves once you let go of the worry and the want for more.  The universe does not judge your energy.  It just provides you with more of the same.  If you feel there is a shortage then you are sending out to the universe that you are asking for more of the same -- shortage.  The universe provides unconditionally.  This is not to say that you should start spending carelessly.  You just need to channel your focus and stop the “wanting”.  This is not your purpose.  This is only our fool’s gold.

Our essential aim is spiritual.  Any inclinations towards primal material urges, serves only to infiltrate our connection to our pure essence.  You are a soul, here to further spiritual growth.  You are love generated in its purest form, void of negativity and flourishing continuously.  This is your life’s calling, and you walk with the universe hand in hand.  Even during times of stress, you are still on the path.  Stay true to spirit and realize your true value not your material value.

TWELFTH HOUSE IN ASTROLOGY

The twelfth house is often said to be a difficult house in that it is the house of hidden matter and issues that have been brushed aside and left undone.  It contains the skeletons in the closest, if you will.  It is traditionally associated with prisons, hospitals and places that are out of view of the general public.  These places are isolated or unknown and work in ways that most would not uncover.  Working behind the scenes is a general theme for people who have strong planetary links to this house.

It is also considered a secret house and an occult house where the subconscious tends to work relentlessly to uncover unknown factors that lie beneath the surface.  It is the house of self-undoing and in many cases it can signify how someone stands in their own way.  They can gain knowledge with inner reflection and open channels to the subconscious, recognizing that they are part of the collective consciousness that envelops us all.

Karma is also known to have its domain linked to this house, along with charity work and the ultimate understanding of our sub-conscious connection.  The sixth and twelfth house deal with service, and they constitute service to others.  While the sixth house may reflect on service to others and the rewards it may bring, the twelfth house speaks of service with no due rewards—shall we say selfless service.

The twelfth house is also linked to secret affairs as well as indicating progressive illnesses and weaknesses within the body that can build over time and eventual be the cause of death.  The aspects linked to this house’s occupants and the house’s cusp ruler can provide information in this regard, however you also have to look at the ascendant and the aspects to it as well as the Sun to get a clear picture of chronic health conditions that may be suggested in an Astrology chart.

Our Little Ones

It is a wonderful experience to share our lives with our little ones.  Whether they are our children, grandchildren or other people’s children, they are an experience in themselves.  It is incredible how they sometimes come up with such mature material and say things that far outweigh their childhood experience.  Many are old souls returning into this incarnation to spread their knowledge and this often begins at a very young age.  They are masters of life in a small package.  Do not be fooled by their child like appearances; they have a lot to say.

It is an honor to have these children your life, as they have chosen to be with you and you have chosen to bring them into yours.  In many cases, you are old acquaintances that have returned once again to be together and this alone makes your relationship special.  Never take your relationship with them as meaningless or of minor significance. 

As they mature, most relationships grow closer and tighten the grip on the love generated between you.  Yes, there will be trying times if you are their parent especially in the teen years and in early adulthood, but these sometimes trying times are the stepping stones to understanding.  These individuals can easily become your best friends as time goes by and you share a common feeling of comfort that can rarely be found with others.

They are the special ones that have come into your life again.  Be sure to teach them through your actions how best to live life.  Teach them love just as they are teaching you unconditional love. Teach them compassion, just as they are always there for you and willing to help in their own special way.  Give them your support especially in times of strife-- just as they will offer you a hug or kiss when they sense you are struggling.  Be sure to talk openly about the spirit connection we all share.  Allow the gifts of intuition and psychic inclination to flourish and do not sell them short on their particular way of expressing this.

Enjoy the little ones today as life waits for no one.  Enjoy each stage in their evolution as you evolve right along with them.  You have been brought together through love.  Ensure that love is number one in your every expression.

Being of Assistance

Never belittle yourself by thinking that you have nothing to offer.  You are special and have an important role in this life, whether you believe this or not.  You are able to assist others through channelling your energy into proper frequencies based on love and compassion.  You have the ability to tap into your resources and assist anyone in need; you just have to believe in yourself.  Confirm this within and make alterations for your own personal needs.  Resolve any internally battles by accepting responsibility (not ownership) for your own shortcomings.

You choose which route to take in life and will meet up with individuals that sway your life’s direction and alter your course in intended directions.  When someone interferes with your own personal growth, you have to take charge and move yourself away from this situation.  Taking charge begins with realizing that you needed this individual to come into your life in the first place to awaken knowledge and then to take whatever information gathered and then move forward with it.

If someone comes into your life with issues that they are willing to share, it is important to understand that they need to do the work to heal but their realization of this might be activated from you.  It is not by chance that you have crossed paths and your purposes may be to offer assistant for them to be capable of lifting themselves above their challenges.  Ultimately, however, they are the ones that make the decision to change and to make the actual adjustment.  You promote action; you initiate movement, but they decide when to move away from their dilemma.  If they are not ready for adjustment, it does not matter what you do.  You cannot shift them.  It might start with you but it ends with them. 

Ego cannot interfere.  As long as you are aware that you are only a conduit and not the actual healer, the ego remains in its place.  We all have the capabilities to allow healing power to flow through us.  Often without even realizing it, we say just the right thing or offer just the right approach to assist others in their time of need.  The ego is a force that can either work with us or work against us.  It can provide reinforcement and help us with our belief systems that can aid, or ego can inflate and only serves to hinder own personal growth.

AGES 38-44 IN LIFE & ASTROLOGY

We have previously written on issues arising during the ages 38 to 44, but it deserves more attention. 

This is the turning point where one moves from early adulthood into a more mature individual.  It is a time of reconciling with oneself and usually we are pretty comfortable with who we are at this point in our lives.  This is a time when we are restructuring our association with ourselves on a more profound level.  A sense of individualization is occurring at a rapid pace, due to the major influences taking place in our lives.  We are experiencing transiting Saturn in trine to its natal position and Neptune in square to its natal position.  These signify inner transformations and a realistic approach to who we are. 

There may even be a feeling of urgency as our quest in life, our ego and the ongoing search for “who am I?” are undergoing alterations in the consciousness of those that feel they need answers.  There is no formal training when it comes to dealing with the midlife crisis and no one can say they are prepared, particularly because no one knows exactly what to expect.  Each individual goes through their own personal crisis followed by an awakening period.  This is a time of great soul searching and a desire for inner change which often coincides with outer change, as one affects the other.

The body is also undergoing physical changes during this time, and those who have placed too much attention on physical appearance may experience depression due to the reflection they are seeing in the mirror.  Many who have placed importance on appearance will go deep within to find out what they actually have to offer, as the appearance previously has held an elevated position in their lives.  The ego is actually in a somewhat delicate state as the inner self gains supremacy and control, at least for those who are searching for something more in life.

This is often considered a turning point as we truly begin to question who we truly are and relentlessly search for answers.  Many turn to deeper subjects such as Astrology, Religion, Spiritualism and/or Mysticism to find answers to some truly profound questions.  This is an awakening stage for many who have been wrapped up in the material world and are left feeling empty and want to experience more meaningfulness in their lives.

Doors that have been boarded up are now beginning to open and a deep restlessness is awakening within.  The search continues and those longing for answers begin to question their existence.  This search activates the opening of channels within as well as awakens a more intimate relationship with the inner self.
