EXTENSIONS IN THE HOROSCOPE

As we determine the characteristics traits associated with each of the Astrological Sun Sign, it is important to understand that there are many variables within the birth chart that will affect the Sun sign or solar placement.  The Sun Sign reflects the inner personal qualities and the Moon is our governing emotional needs expressed through its sign and house position.  There are many other influences, however, that affect our character traits and how someone perceives us.

You may question why a person who is Pisces (Pisces being gentle, peaceful and amiable) acts intrusive, is demanding to be the one who comes first and in general displays aggressive behaviour.  These latter characteristics are is quite contrary to the characteristics of the Piscean Sun Sign.  Why is this person so different and displays little of their Sun Sign character traits?  Perhaps this individual has a strong Aries placement in their chart, with the Ascendant in Aries and the Moon, Mars and Jupiter all in Aries or in the first house and these planets may be poorly aspected.  This strong Arian influences will mask the soft and gentle Pisces demeanor, perhaps to an extreme, unless this individual has learned how to curtail these strong character traits and use them to their advantage.

It should be understood that we all have the potential, regardless of our birth chart, to make any challenging aspect work in our favour.   This is the purpose of difficult aspects in our natal chart.  We are not at the mercy of our birth chart.  We are the orchestrator of our destiny and have all the facilities available within our birth chart to activate any aspect and use it to its full positive potential.

Getting back to why this Pisces Sun individual displays such non-Piscean behavioural tendencies......We must look deep within the chart and examine all the aspects and variances within the horoscope to come up with a complete picture of our personal makeup.  This is what makes each of us unique and one onto our selves.  One Pisces Sun individual will be different from another Pisces Sun individual.  However deep down inside, those qualities of Pisces are still strong even though not shown.  The individual in question described above can utilize these strong Aries character traits and use these talents to enhance their Pisces nature.  Perhaps through spreading compassion and spirituality by self-expression or enterprise that aids others in self-realization.  This individual would have a very strong drive and could express the Piscean nature though very worthwhile acts.

There are many avenues of expression and many release techniques that unlock potential. Through our spiritual evolution, we slowly unlock our natal potential.  By going deep into the astrological chart, we can uncover our true potential and our purpose behind this incarnation.  Astrology provides information and guidance into our life’s pursuit, but WE always make the decisions.

BASKING IN THE TRUE ENERGIES

This is your special moment for very moment is a special moment.  Enjoy it.  Live it. 

We have come into this life to experience all that life has to offer - to experience life’s moments, special or otherwise. 

It is our time to investigate and to uncover all of the hidden gems that reside within us.  Seek out all the perfection... all the unique characteristics that create us as individual.

The best person we can be already exists.  Allow this person to emerge but first we have to acknowledge that we are this person.  We will slowly allow this person to emerge as time passes.  Let go of those characteristics we feel we must possess to please others and allow the true self to surface.  For some of us it takes a long time for our comfort levels to reach that point that we are comfortable enough to come out of hiding, mainly due to the fact that we do not associate ourselves with the potential that lies within.  Many do not believe that they possess these qualities that they wish to develop.  We stop ourselves short because of our beliefs.

We can learn to be comfortable as that person we currently suppress inside.  We are our only limitation. 

Many of us allow our belief structures and expectations to mould the outer self.  If we are going to mould ourselves then we should focus on a positive belief structure.  The sky is the limited.  We can alter our perceptions of who we think we are.  Who we allow to exist is a continuous process and the expansion never ceases if we strive to develop. 

We can bask in the true energies of who we are at any given time.  Believe and move forward with the release of the true self.

TRANSITING NORTH NODE CONJUNCT TRANSITING JUPITER

The transits of the North Node and Jupiter will be forming a conjunction in the sign of Virgo and will be having an impact on those that have a natal planet in Virgo at 15-25 degrees. The Conjunction takes place between mid-December 2015 and runs into mid-March 2016.  The strongest time will be in January and February 2016, when they will be conjunct at 22-23 degrees of Virgo.

If you have other natal planets at 15-25 degrees in other signs particularly forming a square, trine, opposition, or sextile to this Virgo conjunction, you will also be affected by the influence of this link in your chart.  The North Node acts in similar ways as Jupiter and is considered an alternate Jupiter on some levels of understanding.

Jupiter is known as the greater fortune and this conjunction especially if found in the second or eighth houses can indicate an increase in the finances, particularly so if this placement in your birth chart is well aspected by other planetary links.  Opportunities often arise in areas of finances and material rewards.  You may also be learning about this area of life and learning about your spending habits during this time.  You may, as a result, set up financial budgets.  It is a good time to get this area of life in order.

Although the aspect suggests the opportunity for extra income, you will also have to be careful about your spending, as often the money comes in and then moves out just as quickly.  Jupiter tends to expand things and can enhance indulgences and a carefree attitude to any area of life defined by the house placement.  You will have to watch for being too generous.

There is often an increase or greater interest in the area of religion, philosophy, and spiritual insight.  This is a great time to expand on these areas in your life.  If you are already involved in these types of activities, you may learn a great deal about the working of the universe during this time and if you are a beginner to these teachings, stay open and let the energies flow.  Much depends on which houses are involved but when it comes to mysticism and spirituality, the 4, 8 and 12 houses would be the ones that would hold the greatest promise of further education.

If the MC (midheaven) is involved, you may expand on opportunities within the working environment and perhaps be offered a higher position or a pay raise.  Once again, you will have to check the natal potential to see what might be in store.

There may also be desires for travel during this time, particularly visiting foreign land and far away destinations.  For those that are not in a position to travel, you may do so in the mind as continuing education on a more mystical level is often a by-product of this placement.  In the sign of Virgo, this might be a great time to get your life in order, putting things in their proper place internally first and then radiate outward into the world at large.

This is a very opportunistic aspect and we can all learn and grow from its influence even if we have challenging conditions within the birth chart.  Often the more challenging the birth chart (make sure you look at the North Node as well as Jupiter) the greater the potential for a rewarding experience that may open doors that were previously closed.  You may just have to work a little harder.

PHYSICAL WELL-BEING

It is said that everything stems from the heart.  Should we then look within our heart or emotions first when dealing with adverse experiences in life which have evolved into physical conditions or “dis-ease”?

In what ways could we change our lives or our perspectives on life to alter conditions now apparent in the physical body?  What can we do from a purely mental perspective to re-examine our lives?  What changes need to materialize to have a physical affect on our body? 

Are we happy?  Are we content?  What can we do to change the direction of our life if changes need to take place?  How will these changes affect those around us and what can we do from a personal perspective to make changes that not only make us feel better emotionally but also help those around us to find peace as well?

These are questions that we can certainly reflect on. 

If someone closely involved in our day to day lives is being beckoned to make changes yet they ignore these calls, it may be time to help them see what is required.  If they still resist then it may be time for us to do some house cleaning.  Those that are holding us back and creating conditions in our lives that are not in line with our journey cannot be allowed to stand in our way.  It is best to think of what we need to live a healthy, fulfilling life.  It is not self-centred or egotistical to care for our own needs.  We cannot fulfil our life’s journey if we have not cared for or taken care of our own needs.  Sometimes our journeys go in different directions. 

If we have allowed the disease to progress unchecked, we should never hesitate to seek professional help for guidance and healing.   By making conscious changes in our lives and with care to heal the disease, we will have the tools we need to heal and grow, if this is part of our life’s journey.

We are never at the mercy of life.  There are always avenues to pursue, but the first steps taken always come from within.  Ask your guides for assistance and programme your dreams to reveal any special points of interest that will help you along the way.  Remember you are never alone in physical terms and certainly never alone in spiritual terms.  There is always assistance available; all we need to do is ask but then we must also listen to the instructions that may come to us intuitively or through signs in our immediate environment.  Remember, nothing is co-incidence.

FULL MOON IN CANCER

On December 25, 2015, we will be experiencing our last Full Moon of the year. 

The Full Moon will be in Cancer, the natural sign of the Moon.  Cancer deals with nurturing and protection and mothering on a deep level.  Now is the time to harvest the seeds that you planted during the new Moon in Cancer (the last Cancer New Moon was July, 2015).  If you set goals related to your family, particularly your parents (especially your Mom), during this time, you may now see the fruits of your labours. 

The New Moon is a time to set your intentions (plant your seeds), while the Full Moon is a culmination point of those efforts (harvest time).  Even if you feel that you did not set in motion family concerns, the home environment including changes to your home, your children and any act of nurturing and caring, you undoubtedly did so on a subconscious level.  You may now be able to view these areas of life with more clarity and after careful review might recognize weakness or deficiencies within the family unit that you could change or alter so that the energies within the family circle flows more freely.

It is important to focus on what it is you need for yourself on a deep personal level.  It is very challenging to move forward in new directions of understanding for others before you actually do what needs to be done for yourself first.  Your energies have to line up with your intentions.  Once this has been accomplished, you, as an energy, can radiate outward into your environment.  Looking after your own needs is as important as looking after the needs of family and others. 

Since the Sun is in opposition to the Moon at the time of any Full Moon, the Full Moon is a time when you can also reflect on what is taking place in your occupation and in your life’s ambitions.  Are you doing what is necessary in your life to prepare for the future?  Have you built a solid foundation that will withstand the pressures of life down the road and most importantly are you content with your life’s condition and your goals?  These are areas to reflect on now.  If you have been true to your own personal journey, you will reap the rewards of your hard work and planning.

The next New Moon on January 9, 2016 (in Canada) will be in the sign of Capricorn and will be direct on January 10, 2016.  We can plant the seeds and begin to plan and build in terms of occupation and building on life’s structures under the Capricorn new Moon.   

For now we can take care of any family concerns and build on making contact with these family members more pleasing and more meaningful.  Enjoy this special time of year and the energies of this wonderful Cancer full moon.  Take care of your own needs to ensure that you are capable of take care of others.

REACHING OUT

If someone were standing right in front of you extending their hand for assistance, what would your response be?  How would you react and what could you do to help them in their time of need? 

If that person were vindictive in nature, would your actions for this person vary from your actions to assist someone who is loving or gentle?

When we are faced with individuals that have challenging characteristics, we need to be steadfast and true to our own personal journey.  We cannot back down because of a particular response or simply because part of us feels as though this individual does not deserve our assistance (This is judgement coming from ego).  If they are coming to us, there is a reason.  We must have something of significance to offer, even if their responses to live do not meet our expectations.

Advice somehow always seems to miss its mark.  Actions through example, however, speak volumes.  If we feel we must give advice, we should use a gentle approach.  Force creates friction.  The response to our actions is created by the receiver and is not ours to own.  Our ego has no place in the equation when we are offering our assistance.  If you do not like the response, send love and walk away.  Change and growth by someone else is their journey not ours.

Love and compassion will always be our best approach when we are offering a gentle reminder that things can get better.  The actual change must come from within those who see that they need change (even if it is simply a change of attitude). 

It is never co-incidence when someone is sent our way.  We can always offer assistance but we cannot make the changes or force others to accept our help. 

If we do our best in any given situation, we are being true to ourselves and our journey. 

We have control over our reaction to events in our lives and how we respond to those who share this journey with us. 

Control what you are suppose to and have faith that all else will happen as it should.

SUN IN CAPRICORN

In this post we are looking at the Sun in Capricorn.  Those born on the cusp of Capricorn/Sagittarius (you will have to go back to the birth chart for this information) will also have some Sagittarius traits.  The Sun has an orb of 16 degrees so you will have to see how many degrees into Capricorn (or actually any other sign of the zodiac depending on your cusp) to see the influence the preceding or subsequent sign has on defining your Sun sign characteristics.  The house placement as well as aspects to the positioning of your Sun will also have an impact on this very important solar link in your overall birth chart.  This being said, we will only talk in terms of the Sun being in the sign of Capricorn in your birth chart for this post. 

With the Sun in Capricorn at birth, you are a builder in terms of moving ahead in life pursuits.  Most Capricorns are very grounded and know precisely what steps are needed to move forward in life.  These pursuits are often based on material achievements particularly in building a solid foundation leading to success later in life.  Some reach their desired destination midway through life.  Others will reach this stage later in life, but one thing in common with Capricorns, the rise is slow but steady.  For Capricorn individuals, hard work and a steady approach is always the best route to reaching success.

Capricorn is concerned with things that matter and anything considered frivolous or of lessor importance does not hold their attention for long.  They reach for something that serves a purpose and has lasting qualities.  It is very important for the typical Capricorn that they are doing something worthwhile and significant in life.  They may not be like the Leo’s of the world (gaining recognition in ways that are known by everyone or standing out in the crowd) but recognition for a job well done even if it is performed behind the scenes is still important.  Success is earned and most Capricorns feel this way.  They will not take any short cuts or build on something that has a shaky structured.  They value the efforts taken by their predecessors and appreciate talent. They value other people’s opinions, but often in the end make their own decisions.

Many Capricorns are considered introverts and some even feel like they are alone in the world and suffer from loneliness.  They can be reserved and aloof in their nature and rarely show their true feelings.  Emotional responses at best are hidden and reticent, but this is not to say that they are emotionless.  They are far from it.  They just have trouble publicly displaying their emotional side.  If you can unearth this part of the typical Capricorn, you have done well.  Of course, much of these characteristics depend on the state and positioning of the Moon.  A Moon in one of the astrological water signs and with strong aspects will certainly do much to release these pent up emotions.

Capricorns are steadfast and very reliable and this is probably why they often succeed in life on one level or another. 

If you make a Capricorn your friend, they will stand by your side through thick and thin, but if you are unjust with them and hurt their sensitive feelings many Capricorns would be challenged to let go of this.  They hurt deeply and have a challenge bouncing back from adversity in life, especially any feelings associated with failure.  This would be a mountain to climb and this mountain would be ice covered, making any attempt to overcome this even more challenging.

Ask for advice or assistance and you will find a friend or colleague that rarely flounders.  They are almost as good at organizing lives as Virgo individuals, but whatever they build for others and for themselves will stand the test of time.

GIFTS FOR ANYTIME

We go out and buy the wonderful, well thought out gifts and we know that they will bring some happiness or ease to the receiver.  Eventually, however, the new wears off all “things”. 

What can we give that will have lasting qualities?  What can we give that the new will not wear off and will still have significance for years to come? 

The only answer, we can come up with is true unconditional love.  Love can be spread on so many levels. 

How many are limited with their finances and wish they could give a little more at special times of the year?  Spending time with loved ones and sharing love cost us nothing.  It actual pays dividends.

Unconditional love does not grow old and is never outdated.  Love radiates warmth that the coziest of fires could never provide.  Love fills the room and is available for all.  Holding a parent’s hand during a conversation, offering our lap to a little one, spending time with a lonely senior or friends that does not have family or snuggling with a partner....these hold greater meaning that any material gift.  These are true gifts, the effects of which keep on giving.

If we struggle with what gift to give that special individual on any day, we can give them a hug, hold their hand, put our arms around them and tell them how much we love them.  It is important to take time to share ourselves.  Our hearts will thank us.

EARLY STAGES OF AWAKENING

Do you feel worn out for no apparent reason?  Are you experiencing feelings of separation even though your personal contacts have not changed?  Do you feel as though you are entering into something unknown?  Are you experiencing times of confusion and the inability to concentrate for any extended period of time? 

These are symptoms of awakening or passing through a previous condition of life and entering into a new stage of being.  Define this how you will, but it is the ending of old outdated life conditions and the emergence of uncharted territory.

Some find this period of evolution quite frightening and may experience a challenging time when trying to understand what is taking place within their minds and bodies.  It is, in part, the coming to terms with who you are as an individual and upon recognition of this, experiencing the desire for change and a shift so that we can adapt into our new state of awareness.  This can be painful for as we recognized our personality quirks the ego wants to stand firm on its commitment to control. 

We are letting go of previous conditions in life and are adapting to the higher vibrational energy that is now part of our awareness.

We may experience times of depression, times of anxiety and times of disorientation.  These are all common experiences but can certainly be concerning as we experience them.  We may not understand the why behind these experiences but we recognize that we have little control over what is taking place.

We are not suggesting that you ignore signs of illness or disease.  Always seek medical advice when your body speaks to you.  If after seeing your doctor you still find no apparent cause for these symptoms and states, understand that they are common events during times of awakening.

 

It can take months, even years to move through these conditions but accepting the process will hasten it.  Do not let fear stand in the way of development and growth.  Allow the alignment to take place.  We, if we are open to it, are regularly instructed through inner knowledge and outer influences.

Realize that we change when necessary and only when the timing is correct.  Change is one of the few guarantees in life.  Know that you are exactly where you need to be for now and that it will unfold the way it needs to. 

Rest assured that life will unfold exactly as it should even if the events were not part of our plans.  As an individual connected to earthly concerns, developments may not suit our concepts of what “should” be.  But these are our limited human concepts.  Have faith in the path that you walk.

TRANSITING SATURN CONJUNCT THE MOON

For all of 2016, transiting Saturn will be between 10-15 degrees of Sagittarius.  Many people will feel its influence as much as 5 degrees approaching and up to 6 degrees separating.  Saturn energies are felt differently than any other planetary influence.  All other planetary influences will be at their strongest when direct and Saturn is at its strongest at 2 degrees past direct.  Saturn’s influence has a slow but steady feel to it and as it approaches, it will increase in intensity and then slowly releasing its energies as it moves out of range.  Saturn is slow and deliberate, and its intensity is easily felt.

When Saturn is conjunct the natal Moon or when it moves into conjunction with the progressed Moon, this is known as Saturn chasing the Moon syndrome.  Its energies are felt on an emotional level.  How it will affect you, depends on if the Moon is receiving other aspects, but it is fairly safe to say that you may go through depressive moods, feelings of insecure and inferior, and your self-worth will not be at its highest.  It is wise not to get caught up in the negative ramifications that this conjunction often implies.  You could easily become overly self-critical and although there is nothing wrong with self-analysis, remember to view yourself from a positive perspective as well.  Do not be overly nit-picky but you may discover some flaws that will need adjustment.

Your emotions may lack softness.  You may even feel emotionless or cold except perhaps for the feeling that you are not good enough or don’t care enough.  Being reflective, however, does not have to have negative influence.  If we remove judgement, we can sometimes learn exactly what we need to.  Saturn is the teacher and will certainly provide us with information.  Watch, however, for becoming overly pessimistic and self-critical.  If you want to keep tabs, you can write your thoughts down on paper, but be sure to match each challenging characteristic with a positive one, so you do not lose focus on what really matters.

It will undoubtedly be a challenging time off and on during this upcoming year, depending on how other planets play their part in the process.  Interact with others to get a clearer perspective and a more rational explanation.  Do not isolate yourself because of your feelings.  You need to process and then let go. 

 

Saturn will challenge you to figure out who and what you are.  This transit will help you figure out just that.  Self-reflection is a good thing and you can learn a lot about yourself during this aspect.  It is pretty much guaranteed that you will make significant changes to your character, but growth is a good thing.

The mother and often women in general will often play significant roles during this period. 

Taking control of your interactions with others can be challenging at times and it is best not to make any important life changing decisions during this aspect.  If you are contemplating leaving an important relationship and you are unsure, it is suggested that you wait until this transit has passed.  After the transit, you will have a much clearer picture of what is really taking place in your life.

MASTERING OUR SELF PERCEPTION

In order to become proficient at self understanding, we will have to recognize our attitude towards self and our perception of self.  Every aspect of self is determined by our belief structures.  By knowing and acting upon this, we can rise above any self limitations regardless of when they were created or “why” they were created for that matter.   By simply un-identifying with these events or conceived notions, we set ourselves free from ownership of them.

If we do not like what we see, we can change our perspective on whom and what we think we are.  We are a blend of these ideas and we set things in motion by accepting them as part of self.  Before we can take alternative actions, we have to recognize where the creation of self stems comes from – from our perceptions.  We are only limited if we limited ourselves through our beliefs.

We can always rid ourselves of any unwanted, stagnant, detrimental characteristics or notions that hold us back in our evolutionary growth.  We are the only one that can take these steps for we are the only one that controls our own person perception of self.  Others can say what they want for their opinions are simply that....”their” opinions and they do not belong to us.  Why would we limit ourselves?  Why would we not reach for concepts and allow beliefs that resonate with the true self; those concepts and beliefs that propel us to a new or heightened image of ourselves. 

Standing back and having an honest look at who we believe we are can set positive change into motion. Why adopt something that causes restraints.  We can propel ourselves in directions that no longer limit or stagnate our growth. 

Understand, beyond a doubt, that this individual that you wish you could be is already a part of who you truly are.  Recognize your inner beauty and truly see yourself through loving eyes.

TRANSITING URANUS CONJUNCT THE VERTEX

This post is for those individuals that have their Vertex at about 20 degrees Aries in their chart.  We will be taking a look at Uranus’ conjunction to the Vertex. 

Uranus’s action will be swift and unexpected for all connections to the Vertex.  The area of life involved will be defined by your Vertex’s house placement in your birth chart.  The Vertex will be involved in aspect to Uranus from about the spring of 2015 and continues to be an influence until the spring of 2017.

The Vertex is considered by many astrologers to be a gateway or turning point to our destiny.  When activated through transit or progression there are often important people that enter into our lives.  They are considered to be linked with our past and are often reincarnated individuals that have once again decided to meet up with us for a purpose.  The linkage feels somewhat electric when connected to Uranus and has a compulsive energy attached to it.  It is as though we are meeting at a point of destiny and have come together to complete something that may not have been finished in a previous existence.

Uranus’ action is often unexpected and sudden in its nature and usually very disruptive.  There is often a feeling that the meeting could not be avoided and during these times we should pay particular attention to what we has been wishing for, as in some way this may come true.  Uranus makes us act on impulse and often the individual concerned unexpectedly comes into our life and leaves just as quickly.  This is not always the case but expect the unexpected.

Uranus will be moving in and out of retrograde over the whole period, so detaching from this unique individual may not be easy, if this is your desire.  Keeping them in your life may not come easy either.  Often when the lesson or commitment from the past has carried out its purpose, this individual will leave your life, often permanently.  An awakening on some level of influence, however, is accompanied with this individual but this awakening will stay with you.

This feeling of destiny brings to the forefront a feeling that completely binds you, and you instinctually understand that you have been brought together for a purpose or a completion of something and this characteristically complicates matters.  You may find it very difficult to let go of this person until you accept that whatever brought you together has been accomplished and the union no longer serves you.

The vertex is always found on the western side of the horoscope (houses 5-8) hence its involvement with partnership and people.  Have a look at your Vertex in your chart to find out when it will be influenced by upcoming trends and links in your Astrology chart.

YOUR CALLING

Raise your vibration through acts of love and kindness so we can move together as one manifesting even more of these qualities into our lives.  As an evolving spirit it is evident that our purposes is to raise our vibration through acts of love and kindness, which propels us to becoming one whole and to manifesting these qualities as one energy.  We cannot allow our energy to be influenced by conditions from less than ideal outside influences.  Through choice of our focus, we can stand firm, do our part and accelerate this process of life.

Why would we want to sit back and do nothing?  Why would we want to wait for some miraculous event to unfold when we are meant to have a hand in their creation?  We are that miraculous event.  We are the instigators of change.  We can use this as the underlying purpose to our lives.

We are one, each a spark of the whole flame.  We live individually to work as one whole, together in brotherhood envisioning a world of love and peace.  This vision always begins at home.  Start with those living under your roof or within your family and group of friends.  Simply be the love that is radiating from within. 

Allow your inner light to shine.  This light will light your path as well as the path for those around you.
