Scorpio Ascendant

The Rising Sign, also known as the Ascendant Sign, depicts the way we present ourselves to the outside world. It is the face we show to others, particularly during the first few meetings. It does not necessarily link up with our Sun sign which is our true identity or inside personality that is more in line with who we truly are. At some point in time, our purpose is to join the outer persona with the inner personality and mold them into one, thus becoming whole.

Those that are born with Scorpio Rising have similar characteristics of those with the Sun in Scorpio only in so far as the outside person reflects this character. If you have Scorpio Rising, you may be quiet or loud but rarely in between. Regardless of which one you show to the world, you will get noticed. When you walk into a room, people notice you and your demeanour is captivating. Most people with this rising sign have pointed features and piercing eyes that seem to look past any superficial character traits that others may try to exhibit. They are able to see to the core. Some find this intriguing and others find this somewhat intimidating.

Many with this Rising Sign are drawn into partnerships that are intense although individuals that are down to earth, practical and reliable in nature hold this individual’s attention. They are deep and want a partner that is dedicated and committed to them and them alone. Partnership is important but they are quite self-sufficient and are not dependant on others to help them through their life’s challenges. In meaningful relationships, they have an all or nothing attitude. They are also very sexual and exude sexual energy. Sex is an important factor in their intimate relationships and some can become overly obsessive about their sexual appetite.

Sometimes, they present themselves as being cool and aloof and sometimes they are rather indignant and pushy. They will not be pushed or pulled by anyone and are never at the mercy of someone else. They are strong enough to handle most any situation that life throws at them. The emotions run deep and their lifelong lesson has to do with balancing the emotions and finding a way to present self in a manner that feels right.

Their mission is to get to know self and transform their character flaws as time passes. Once they evolve into this personality which is quite possible, they are capable of selfless acts for the betterment of those around them. They first have to face their own demons (as most individuals with strong Scorpio characteristics have something hidden deep inside that needs adjustment). Once this is accomplished, they can help others conquer their own obscurities and face themselves head on without fear and judgement.

Harbouring Negativity

If you were to take a close look at the people around you, either from your work place, close associates or family members, you would discover that at least one of these individuals harbours some form of negativity. They insist that reality is shady and the world is full of misconceived concepts. They maintain their stance and suggest that if you have a clear and concise close look around you, you cannot help but adapt to this realistic approach to life. In a very sad way, they have a point. When you view our world and all its negative attributes, such as war, murder, violence and injustice, (just to name a few), you may find it difficult to rise above this view point. These individuals only see their world in terms of shortages and rarely capture the true essence of life.

There are those that have allowed corruption to control them. This cannot be denied and it is next to impossible to honestly say that there is nothing but good in this world. However, we must take a closer look. If you truly look, you will see that for every negative act, there is or is the potential for a positive act. For every negative emotion, there can be, if you so choose, a counter positive emotion. In most cases, the positive reaction holds more credence than the negative one.

If we choose to filter out all of the negative or ill-willed actions, how can this possibly affect us? Are we not just turning a blind eye? Our general attitude and that which we focus on – be it doubt and fear, only serve to produce more of the same which results in encapsulating our existence with doubt and fear.

Are we not hiding under a veil of illusion if we purposely only focus our attention on the good in life? Are we not misinterpreting reality? Most of us are all quite aware of the facts and the issues in our world today but if we entertain or place our focus on these thought structures, what good comes of it? We must acknowledge things that need our attention so that we can assist in righting wrongs but these outside activities do not have to define our existence.

By focusing our attention on what we have instead of what is conceived as “missing” in our lives, we capture something much more worthwhile. If we choose to focus our attention on what is missing, we create the illusion of lacking, wanting, needing. Happy individuals find contentment from everyday affairs, from those people that surround them, from the beauty of nature – from each and every different aspects of their life on which they choose to place their focus. These individuals are aware of the world around them. They simply choosing to keep their attention on the meaningful, positive aspects that life has to offer.

Our focus on life’s events becomes a choice at that moment that we learn we have a choice. Parents and teachers mold our intentions at a relatively early age (whether they are aware of this concept or not), but as we mature, we develop our own awareness of alternatives. If positive thinking was not taught earlier in our lives, we have to choice to begin to form our own objectives and focuses in life.

As mentioned in many previous writings, we choose; we allow and we accept. It is our choice to pursue life’s rewards, life’s beauty and life’s offerings. We were never intended to pursue a route that only produces indignant reactions. Open yourself up to the willingness to explore the potential wonderment that life offers. It is your right to choose which road to follow – a road of bewilderment and dismay or a road of endless potentials. Which will it be?

Moon in Scorpio in the Natal Chart

Since the Sun is currently in the sign of Scorpio, we thought it only fitting to explain the placement of the Moon in the sign of Scorpio. Other strong placements where Scorpio would enhance the individual’s character would also be the Rising or Ascendant sign or several planets in the eighth house which is ruled by Scorpio.

If you are a person who was born with the Moon in the strong placement of Scorpio, you are emotionally responsive to your environment. Emotions are intertwined in many of the events in your life as well as life’s unfolding potential. The emotions can be your greatest strength or your point of least resistance. Many of these individuals spend a great deal of their life trying to contain their emotional depth. Some gain mastery over these intense feelings, while others become captive of their emotions.

These captive individuals will have great difficulty comprehending and relinquishing their emotional response to the world around them. This is a challenge for most people with this placement of the Moon unless there are other strong character traits in their Natal Chart that help to dilute or inhibit their emotional response to life.

Because of Pluto’s influence on the sign of Scorpio, these individuals have a great need for reflection and their in depth analysis often propels them towards deep transformation. Throughout their lives, they will challenge who they are becoming and rigorously test this intension. If content with the results, they will pursue this path or these character traits with greater intensity. They constantly review their flaws and with passion ingrained from birth, will relentlessly pursue rebirth and transformation on a very deep level.

They have an imbedded need to pursue every facet of the subjects that is in their focus. They make excellent Astrologers, Psychoanalysts, Psychologists and Detectives. They have a yearning to understand life and are deeply interested in occult matters and anything unusual. They will study in depth and leave nothing to question. They need the answers and are unwavering in their intent to find them. They are very stubborn and are not easily swayed from their purpose which they pursue relentlessly.

The more evolved individual with this Lunar sign has positive qualities linked to their personality, such as compassion, intelligence and ambition and although somewhat vulnerable, they are open to new knowledge as long as it fits into their circle of ideologies. They genuinely want to be of assistance and share their knowledge with the intensions of aiding those in need of transformation and regeneration.

On the negative side, those individuals that are not evolved and are under this Lunar sign can easily display jealousy, possessiveness and self-indulgence. Many become obsessed with sexual intrigue and most, whether they are evolved or not, are secretive and sensual individuals. Those with less than good intentions have difficulty staying monogamous and are tempted to respond to their sexual inclinations by having more than one sexual partner. Most individuals with this Lunar placement need some balance in this area of life. For some, this is a weak point in their personality that requires some alignment.

There are eleven other signs for the Moon; this is but one. If you find this information interesting and would like further information on the placement of the Moon, please refer to our “About” Section on the top left hand side of our Facebook page for information on the Astrology Charts that are available to enhance your understanding of not only your Moon’s placement, but all the planets and their significance in your personal Chart.

The Departed

Have you recently lost someone dear to you? Are you overwhelmed with thoughts of them? Are you having trouble letting go and moving forward in your life? It is troubling and heart wrenching when someone close to us leaves but especially if in our opinion it seems to be premature. Many will spend countless hours questioning the passing and some become fixated on the questions left unanswered and with words that were left unsaid.

It is difficult to understand the reason behind such untimely events and sometimes it does not matter how much we ponder the potential “why” behind the passing, there just is no satisfactory answer to this question. Perhaps it is not for us to know. We are mere mortals living our lives with tidbits of information behind the greater meaning to our existence.

Was their leaving part of the process? Was it meant to be? These are great questions and the answer may never be known here in the physical world. But if the question is generated from a spiritual sense, one beyond the normal confines of so called rational thinking, there is undoubtedly a purpose. To find the answer, you have to go deeper than this human existence. You have to ask for guidance in locating this answer. It cannot be found through normal lines of thought, unless the normal lines of thought are beyond the physical realm.

People look for answers that justify events and answers that somehow make the events acceptable to our logical mind. Our concept of life is limited. Life is to be lived to the best of our ability. It is to be enjoyed and experienced to the fullest, but with full regard for everyone we meet along life’s road.

When a life comes to an end, think of this event as the turning of a page or a new chapter--a fresh start. This chapter is complete and what was supposed to happen has, even if a life is cut short. It served the purpose that it was to serve. When our learning process is complete in this existence, it is time to move on. This, however, should never be our conscious decision.

There are some of us that have enormous difficulties and are confronted with these each and every day. These difficulties are beyond any measurement of understanding by those watching from the outside. Others have no idea what these individuals are going through or the mental anguish that they are experiencing. Some of these individuals unfortunately take their own lives as they feel that there is no other way out. This thinking process halts any potential for overcoming the obstacles and moving forward. I have heard it said that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If they understood that the mind’s focus is part of the stalemate situation in their lives, they would undoubtedly change their focus. Sometimes people are so immersed in their circumstances that they can neither think clearly nor move out of the restrictions their minds’ have created around the situation they now find themselves shackled too.

When people leave us prematurely some questions are never answered, but know that you will meet up again, when you move from this experience into the next. Life is energy, and energy is perpetual. We are energy in spirit form when we leave this earthly existence. Let them move ahead in the ongoing evolution of life and know that our loved ones are always near--never too far away to hear our words. Love and let go. Continue on your journey. This is your purpose and certainly what your loved ones would want for you.

Chosen Family

In our lives there are generally two types of families. There are the families that consist of biological family members such as brothers, sisters and parents and there are families that consist of those members we meet during our life whom we call friends. Some family members will become our closest friends whether biological or not. Some close friends can have a greater impact on our lives than our biological family members.

These unique individuals have been brought into our lives for specific reasons. They come to share our life’s experience. These individuals are important factors at crucial periods in our lives.

The importance of these biological or found friends cannot be measured or weighed especially during times of stress and anguish. Many times, their input uplifts us when life presents us with obstacles and challenges that seem too powerful for us to conquer on our own. At these times, you could call these individuals guardian angels that have been sent to our rescue. Some friends are temporary and will disappear after they have served their purpose. Others remain constant companions throughout our lives and we share our intimacies and enjoy our special moments together with them.

Many have a higher purpose and they hand over their reigns to someone new when they have completed whatever they were sent to do. They seem to gradually fade away and it is sometimes difficult to let go of them as you have come to know them well and they you.

Never underestimate the importance of these individuals as it is not by chance that they have come into your life. Look deep to see what it is that they have come to assist you in learning. Sometimes what you like about them most is something that you need to develop within yourself. Other times what you fear or detest most about them is a quality that is part of your own makeup that must be acknowledged and then released.

For those friends that endure life’s constant evolutionary change, persevere and remain, always adapting and moving within the confines of your evolutionary growth, you should understand that these are special people. You have undoubtedly walked together before this life with them. The two of you have chosen to meet up again and exchange in-depth connection that few experience. These are your special unions and there is a significant purpose within this alliance.

There are those that circumstance seems to remove from your grasp but their presents continues to hold a special place in your heart. Some are taken away early in the union for unknown reasons and the loss is intense. With these individuals, you feel that your time together was too short but it is imperative that you appreciate the time shared.

Acknowledge the importance of each of your friendships. Life is short and you are intended to meet and form great relationships. Friends and family members are an important part of your life and you theirs. Cherish the special moments in time that you have together.

Scorpio

Today, the 24th of October, 2013, the Sun moves into the sign of Scorpio. For those of you born under the sign of Scorpio through the Sun sign, have your Rising Sign in Scorpio, or with a heavy influence of planets in the eighth house, this post will apply to you.

Those of you born with the Sun in Scorpio have probably heard of the symbol of the scorpion, but have you heard of the other two symbols related to the sign of Scorpio--the eagle and the serpent/salamander and of course the Scorpion. These three symbols speak primarily of evolution. The scorpion represents the lowest form of these three symbols. This symbol has to do with devilish motives and has a reputation of being selfish, self-centred, and jealous. These individuals generally lash out on impulse. The Scorpio personality at this stage of development will get even at some point.

The Serpent or Salamander is wise and usually successful in worldly affairs. They have a tendency to keep their identity somewhat hidden as they choose to keep the “self” secret. Because of this, they are difficult to get to know, let alone understand. They usually have a powerful personality and people are aware of their presence. They are able to go below the surface and easily pinpoint faults in others, but rarely see their own. They are very sure of themselves, and proof is an essential part of their learning process. They need some type of solid evidence and then it will be scrutinized. Only to their own satisfaction will they arrive at a suitable conclusion. They are persistent and determined to reach their goals although not particularly materialistic.

The third and highest evolved type is the Eagle. The key to this personality is to get to the truth. They are very self-aware and work relentlessly towards the betterment of society. They are helpful and courteous and weaker individuals gain much needed strength from them. They genuinely inspire those around them and have a soft spot for the underdog. They will help anyone in need and always put others before themselves. The Eagle personality makes excellent leaders. In emergencies, they are calm, cool and collected with great self-control. They have the capacity to devote themselves totally to a cause that produces positive results. They have mystical abilities and psychic tendencies and have a great love of mankind.

If you were were to study all these characteristics and have strong Scorpio tendencies, you may find a mix of many of these different qualities within you. You may elevate yourself from one to the next and push yourself to the greatest heights if you choose to follow the path of the Eagle. Most Scorpio individuals do not need applause or admiration and are proud but not egotistical. Some have an undeveloped search for self-satisfaction and are well known for their sexual energy and pursuits.

Scorpio is a difficult sign for women to be born into as Scorpio individuals are often dominant, masterful and inside have enormous emotions with intense feelings. Both men and women usually look older in their younger years but age gracefully and look younger in their mature years.

Scorpio men are aggressive in their sexual pursuit as are some women. This is not to say that they cannot control their sexual energies as they have powerful self-controlled. They can be demanding and if they become lustful must learn to fight this energy before they will have a chance to find happiness.

These characteristics point out some of the significant features of the Scorpio Sun sign. For more information on the impact that the sign of Scorpio may have on your individual makeup, please feel free to contact us and we can go deeper and uncover some of the more subtle characteristics to your personality.

Your Place in the World

For those of you that are trying to find your place in the world and have become restless in this pursuit, be certain that there is a calling that is just meant for you. Many of you move forward with your professions or return to school to further your education; yet you still wonder what your journey might entail. Do you take a position that is being offered? Do you move in a different direction? Know that regardless of the worldly importance connected to your job, you are making a difference. The work you carry out is important and certainly has its place. The people that you touch within this framework hold far greater relevance than the actual job. Whether these people actually see or know you is not important. We are not in our roles simply for recognition.

If you find yourself in the trades, or working at a job such as a waitress serving others doing what must be done with superiors ever watching over your shoulder, know that this is okay. It is all part of the process even though the bosses, patrons, clients, whoever they may be, do not show appreciation. You are here to do a job or a service. Do your best and do not worry about what others think. This is all part of your learning process and the obstacles and challenges you meet along that road are not barriers to overcome, they are testing grounds for higher learning connected to your spiritual evolution.

You are serving your purpose through your daily regime, in the constant movement from one day to the next. Rather than becoming bored or unsatisfied in your occupation as the mind always gravitates to higher ground and wants more, be happy and know that all things in life are temporary and each one of our experiences are prerequisites to furthering who we are as an individuals.

Pay attention to the daily routine, and practice the art of being kind and helpful. See the benefits start to unfold. Most people will pick up on this attitude; regardless of how menial or meaningful you are to the people you work with. Think of your employees and employers as working mates and treat them the way that you would like them to treat you. Undoubtedly there will always be that one renegade worker bound and bent to inflict hardship on everyone, but take a moment and think about their life. Why are they so intent on bringing others down? Misery always needs company. Depression is a lonely place and many believe through some twisted concept that by making others unhappy, they will raise their own happiness. Unfortunately, as you know, by sending out to the universe nothing but contempt, you can only expect more of the same.

Today when you make your way to work, stop for a moment and focus on how fortunate you are in your world. If you are on the receiving end of some form of disarray, stand tall and acknowledge the universal lesson you are learning. Once learned, a change will eventually occur. Be happy! Share happiness and it will be plentifully returned.

Nodes in the Houses - Astrology

In a previous post on September 19, 2013, we discussed the Moon’s Nodes second return. We will discuss the Moon’s Nodes in the houses in this segment. There are two nodes of the Moon, the north node and the south node. The north node represents the “un”-trodden path that we have chosen in this lifetime. It is the path chosen by our higher self to generate as much enlightenment into our consciousness as possible in this incarnation. The aspects to this node represent the challenges and obstacles we will need to overcome in order to find this route and the easiest assistance we will gain in mastering our destiny’s calling.

The South node is representative of the past or previous incarnation and what we have brought over with us to assist us in our new journey. In the very least, it is the abilities that come natural to us. The north node is a road not previously traveled while the south node is a road well known. As a result, following our destiny can be somewhat difficult as entering into the unknown is always a difficult step to take.

The traits and abilities represented by the south node are easy to fall back onto when the going gets tough. It is an area where there is little conflict. However, taking this easy route impedes our progress and basically halts any forward motion. The north node is a point in destiny that leaves us wide open to begin to cultivate the information and experiences needed to move us in our intended direction. It could be termed the steps needed in order to attain our spiritual conquest and the enlightened path.

The north node is our destiny and the route we must follow. As we take this flight, the higher forces assist us in maintaining a continued educational process, and help us uncover our potential by offering insights and conditions that will encourage us to continue on our developmental path. The north node is an ongoing adventure that may take many lifetimes to reach the culmination point, but we are all equipped with the needed ingredients to attest to this momentum. When we are experiencing difficulties and challenging situations in this life, this is when the north node’s route is opening and usually when we are faced with complications. This is when we can call on the ingrained knowledge that we have brought with us from previous incarnations or early life experiences.

There are twelve houses in Astrology and each house deals with a different area of life. The placement of the north node by house position tells us what direction that we are pursuing in this life and what specific areas of life will be activated in order for us to pursue and ultimately obtain our goals.

Let us assist you in transforming your life’s mission by uncovering your life’s calling. We can offer support and help you to align with your current purpose. By looking into the various aspects in your Natal Chart that either offer assistance or create hindrances to your overall growth, we can assist in helping you to move forward in your quest.

Love "Again"

Last week, we posted a thought and within this message something stood out which I found to be profound. I believe that our writings are trans-written through assistance from other forces and I often have to reread our writings once they have been posted in order to absorb the message. I would like to share these few words from the previous post with you again, as it moved something within me and it might do the same for you.

“Love is beyond all measure and cannot be scrutinized. It cannot falter and it never ends. Love is pure and cannot be filtered. The essence of love has no boundaries and encompasses everything. Even impurity can be transformed through the spirit of love. Nothing is untouchable and everything is within loves reach.”

I hope you find these few words as inspirational as I do. I am thankful for the words that flow through me. These thoughts flow from a force beyond our limited sight, and yet link with us every step of the way.

Open up to the purity of love, and let it radiate into everything you touch in life.

What Change Should YOU Facilitate?

If you had the ability to change just one thing (anything) in our world, what would it be?

Please share your thoughts!

Join Hands with Yourself

As you know, we mold our reality through our thoughts and expectations. By understanding this, you capture your life’s essence by molding your life through your own manifestations. Focus on the good in your life and never dwell on the negative. Experience it! You were meant to go through each trial and tribulation, but you were not meant to become a slave to any personal experiences. It is always your choice to hold on or to learn and let go.

Life is the teacher, and you are the student. Roll with the twists and turns and become adaptable. Absorb the teachings then move on.

Practice self-promotion! Believe in yourself. You have what it takes. Why else would you be living the life you are living? You are here to grow spiritually and here to learn about life--to eventually become love. You are here to master your own destiny and become your best friend. Love what you are at the core, and know that this person is you. You will eventually find that individual. Practice self-forgiveness and know that you are part of the divine.

We are here to join hands with our whole, our source and to learn that we are one. We are moving together in one mind and in conjunction with the greater whole. You do your part by being a source of love and being happy; everything else follows naturally. Your life is in your hands. You hold the key, and you are the answer. Never let go of this, and never give up. You always sustain that which you are part of, and you can never lose sight of your goal.

Sextile between Neptune and Pluto in the Astrology Chart

The sextile (an aspect of opportunity) between Neptune and Pluto has been in effect from the late 1940’s and lasts approximately 100 years; therefore, most everyone alive today is affected by this connection. The outer planets move very slowly. As a result, the aspects to the outer planets are generational. The strongest affects would have been felt from the inception of the aspect into the early 1990’s. During most of this period, the orb of this aspect was only out by no more than 4 degrees, and anyone who has this aspect in there Natal Chart within a couple of degrees would be strongly influenced by it.

This is considered a strongly mystical connection and if the rest of the Chart agrees, this individual would be very sensitive to outside influences, and would be able to pick up the subtlest of vibrations from those around them. They would have a mystical lean and clairvoyant ability as well as psychic inclinations. Most with this aspect being tight in the Natal Chart would have a very creative streak. They will be required to act and respond to life’s situations merely by the use of their intuition. Watch for the aspect between these two planetary giants becoming direct (moving into a tight orb, or distance from one another) during progression as these abilities we refer to will surface or intensify.

These are idealistic people that believe in themselves and depend primarily on themselves. They are highly motivated, self-initiative and self-contained, unless the Chart dictates otherwise through other contacts or placements. They will seize opportunities, and because of the sextile, will have the potential to make things work and to be in the right place at the right time. They truly believe they are an instrument of ethic and moral standards. They will try their best to be a motivational factor for others. There are some that pave the way for others and appear to be extreme individuals. They are “all in” or “not in at all”. There are no half measures with these individuals that choose to pursue their calling. They consider life a major challenge, but will move forward with a positivity that often assists them in their endeavours.

On the negative side, some lack perspective and their high ideals can be centred on their own egotism. They become so self-reliant that they will not take advice and they believe that their way of thinking is the only way and all others should mirror their belief structure. They become so closed in their thinking that they only will rely on “self”. As a result, they close the door to furthering their evolutionary path. They are, however, usually very honest and forthright and will be admired for this by many.

The individuals that display either side of these qualities have a commonality in that they will attempt to stimulate the evolutionary process through self-exploration and will progress towards that given goal, with thoughts of aiding humanity and bringing people together. However, as expressed in the beginning of this post, these individuals must have other factors within the framework of their personal Birth Chart to use these facets to their fullest. Everyone, however, has the potential to awaken this mystical leaning inherent in us all.

NOT SPIRITUAL ENOUGH?

For those of you who have been travelling down your mission’s road, do you ever wonder if you have what it takes? Have you ever questioned your own spiritual nature and wondered if you are transcendent enough or have the ingrained requirements to venture this path? Yes; you know you are on a spiritual pursuit, but you keep venturing off course and faltering.

It is important to try to stay focused and concentrate on living the right life for you, but you are not on trial, and you are not being judged. You walk your road as does everyone else in this life, on your intended path, always on course, never faltering. Each turn in the road is anticipated by your greater whole or true self. Each road block comes along to help you with the lessons you have come to learn.

Your mission is to find yourself amongst the turmoil, through life’s profound and insistent teachings set out long before your emergence here in physical form. Know that you are on course and each event that you encounter is part of the process. You may feel you have made mistakes and perhaps you have, but this is not important. All you need to do is get up again and use your intestinal fortitude to move yourself forward.

You have come here to be happy and enjoy life, to learn by living it, and by experiencing it. Through these internal struggles, become motivated to continue no matter what lies ahead and without expectation. Life is what it is. You will go through your share of challenging situations, but you will rise above these concerns and pick up what is require for your growth.

Saturn in Libra in the Natal Chart

We thought we would go a little deeper into the sign Libra, since the Sun is still currently in Libra. In Astrology, every planet moves from sign to sign. If you were born in late 1950 and through into the fall of 1953, or born from the fall of 1980 through to the end of 1982 and then those born from the end of 2009 through into the fall of 2012, you will have Saturn in Libra in your Birth (Natal) Chart.

Saturn takes approximately 29 years to move through all of the signs of the zodiac and return to its original natal position at the time of your birth. When Saturn reaches its return position, this time is usually marked with striking transformations. We have already discussed the Saturn Return on June 6, 2013, and will not be touching on this now. Instead we will focus on those born with their Saturn in Libra.

This placement of Saturn usually suggests that the “artist”, who will have specialized in their own particular form of art, will reach the maturation process only after years of murky but committed effort. As Saturn is known as the eternal task maker, this placement quite often produces individuals who work diligently on their particular art.

This placement could be called the wisest judge, and generally produces a high minded individual, whose aim is to live within their tight guidelines and to pursue the highest in moral goals. Their reserved and refined behaviour is recognized most frequently through their good will and the relentless search for peace. These individuals generally try to stay on middle ground, but are often swept from side to side as they are always trying to please those around them. They have a great need to correct incorrect assumptions, and want others to know the truth as long as no one gets hurt.

Many marry more than once. For many men, female relationships are generally ill-fated or men find their significant other very difficult to please. In partnerships, they are in search for people who are high minded and intelligent, as well as someone adept in conversation. They benefit greatly from a stable partnership and have a need for balance and harmony in their close personal relationships.

Most with this combination are intellectual and suited for scientific work. They are suited for work where the studied application of principles and honesty are important. Many make great lawyers or judges, as fairness in everything is paramount. If they attempt to succeed without the proper training or the required experience, they may fail when testing becomes a crucial part of the evaluation. Knowing the subject thoroughly is a must and no half measures will stand up to the test of Saturn in later years.

This is a somewhat difficult position for Saturn as Libra is soft, gentle and refined while Saturn is indignant to soft principles and wants refinement which is suitable for Libra, but not without the testing grounds being bombarded with restrictions and hardships. Saturn tests, places restriction and delays before Libra can find the place in its heart for love, peace and balance. Together they make for a rough road with many twists and turns but in the end, a road well-travelled and completely understood.

THE MIRROR’S REFLECTION

This post, which was written in the mid-eighties, surfaced last weekend. Although somewhat simplistic in its nature and written some thirty years ago, it still holds significance with my present concepts and encapsulates some of the thinking that we explore in our current writings. I have not altered the writing as to capture the thoughts that I was trying to convey many years ago. I have, however, expressed my current opinions in brackets to further the thoughts.

As our life slowly progresses along its unknown journey, we are mirrored by our limited ideas of what we feel we are capable of. This internal struggle continues as long as we allow ourselves to be captives of our beliefs. Most of us restrict our lives by what we feel our lives are capable of attaining. This is our limitation; this is where we stop. As long as we continue along this path, progress is as near a halt as earthly possible. (“as earthly as possible” suggests that we still continue progressing regardless of the limitation we put on ourselves, although almost to a grinding halt.)

We are a reflection of our concepts and our reactions to life itself. If we choose a negative route, our life will be trails of negative feedback. You mold your own world by your own thoughts and beliefs. Two individuals sharing the exact same experience can get two completely different concepts of what this experience is. Your own view is all important, and the longer you allow yourself to accept your negative response, the harder it will be to move out of that which is draining you. It is the draining of the true self. (The last sentence was underlined; however I now believe that the true self can never be drained.)

Your beliefs and expectations are your tomorrows and your moments. Change your belief structure, change your life. It can be done, but it takes time and you will need to pay close attention to yourself. At first, you will feel you are going nowhere. However, this is the realization period, where important information is being obtained--a self-study and self-realization period. This is usually a depressing stage. They are however a part of you and you must accept this. (I now believe that the true self does not encompass any negative character traits and when you uncover your earthly faults and realize that you do not have to identify with them, you rid yourself of the issues.)

Your negative qualities will fade out slowly, mainly because you wish to remove them. (Partly true, but they also fade because they are not a part of your true essence.) For now the most important facet of this experience is to become totally aware of yourself. Know who you truly are, at least for this time. Now the journey begins. (It is important to become aware of your character traits, as you cannot begin to let them go until you acknowledge that they exist. Once you become aware of their existence, you no longer have to identify with them and they will dissipate, as any negative character trait that has been developed is not part of the true self. The true self which is what you are here to merge with, encompasses only positive character traits. When you identify with character traits that are not comfortable, you allow them an entry point and although only temporary in their nature, it feels as though they are a part of who you are. Anything in your life that does not feel right, or makes you uncomfortable is not a part of who you are. You can rid yourself of all these traits when you choose not to identify with them.)

The Movement Part II

We would like to continue with our post from October 9, 2013 concerning love and our purpose. Many of you may wonder if love is the foundation of our existence, how does the expression of love open the door? By opening yourself up to the vibration of love, since love is the basis from which all things originate, you tell the universe that you are open to all that love encompasses. The powers that be (or our collective energy from that which we came, the Godhead, call it what you will), does not segregate or categorize what energy is being released. There is no judgement and it works in such a way that whatever energy you put out, it is as if you are saying that this is what you want. From that which we came (for simplicity sake, let’s call this the Godhead), which is all giving in its nature, responses by presenting you with more.

The Godhead automatically responds by providing more of whatever energy YOU share. This is why it is essential that you take into careful consideration what it is you are putting out into the universal whole. Have you ever wondered why so many things keep repeatedly happening along the same line of thought? If you are expressing financial shortages, why is it that things keep breaking down and need repair? Why is it that extra bills or normal bills keep coming up at the most inopportune moment?

It is not really important whether you believe in this concept or not. It is normal for the mind to question everything, and the ego does not want to shoulder blame for that which it does not like. It is much easier to point the finger elsewhere and dodge responsibility for that which we do not like in our lives.

The idea is not to ignore your struggles or try to change your mind’s focus. When you intentionally turn your back on something, you are acknowledging its existence. For example, if you are noticing that you are thinking about money shortages and you try to change the topic, unfortunately, the energy of shortage has already been created. What we need to do is to think about how good our lives are with regards to our finances. Do not look at what is missing. Focus at what you have. This applies to everything. You can use this practice for focusing on positive thinking during those times that the mind gravitates towards any direction that you are accustomed to travelling.

Think of your world as an energy field or a magnet. Whatever you put out draws or attracts more of the same. If you practice the concept if focusing on the positive (and in reality you have nothing to lose by doing it), then slowly your world begins to change and the practice becomes easier. You naturally become happier and more content when your life begins to turn.

Begin by focusing on one particular area of your life--one that needs regeneration and let your other concerns slide for now. Change does not have to happen at a rapid pace. It has taken you a long time to develop the mental attitude you use now. Be patient and watch for minor changes in the area of life you have chose to concentrate on. You will gradually change your mind’s focus just by applying this practice on a regular basis. In turn, you are channelling this energy constructively and eventually manifesting this energy into your life. Usually things begin to change internally and then as time goes by, what changes internally moves to an outside expression.

By controlling your mind’s focus, you generate more of your focus. Take control and be grateful! Find the love that is ever-present in the world around you and become your own catalyst.

Moon in Libra in the Astrology Chart

Since the Sun is currently in Libra, we thought we would touch on some qualities of the Moon in the same sign. The Moon changes signs in the birth chart every two and one-half days and moves through the houses roughly at the same rate depending on the house system used in the Chart.

There are many similarities between the Moon and Sun in the sign of Libra; however, one key difference is the fact that the Moon holds prominence over the emotions, while the Sun is reflective of the inner personality traits.

The Moon is said to make reference to the Mother. The sign and its aspects in the Natal Chart describe the Mother or someone symbolic of your Mother and the relationship you have with her.

With the Moon in Libra at birth, partnerships are a very important factor in your life. You are in search of an individual who is refined in their mannerisms. It would be nice if they were social and enjoyed the company of others. You would also be looking for an individual who is nice-looking and intellectual, as it is important to be able to share conversations on a varied number of topics. It is important that this individual be fair-minded and gentle in their approach. This applies to people in general that you become attached too. Anyone who is gruff and aggressive does not fit well in your circle.

Justice is key to your character and balancing out any circumstance or situation is paramount. You need a sense of balance and stability in all that surrounds you and if things are not this way, if things are unfair in any way, you will do your best to put them back in order again. Many with this combination seek peace at any cost. This can create all kinds of problems. The need for peace is so paramount that many will put this before their own needs or bend over backwards just to have harmony in their life.

If the Moon is afflicted in the Natal Chart, there could be too much dependency on others to find the inner harmony and emotional security that is required. Although these individuals are at their best when in a meaningful relationship, they will have to search internally for solutions to any anxiety that they may have regarding their feelings. The answer comes from within and they may have to learn to rely on themself to adjust any miss-conceptions or inadequacies that they experience.

If the Moon is well aspected in the birth chart, their mother was a reliable friend and assisted them throughout their early years by teaching manners and appropriate behaviour. She may also have been refined in her own way and very sensitive to beauty and balance in her life. Much of who Moon in Libra people become when they mature comes from their mother’s careful grooming and preparation for furthering this individual’s development.

This is a brief explanation of the Moon in Libra and when Holm Astrology is commissioned to prepare a Chart, we examine closely all the links to the Moon, as the placement of the Moon along with the Sun and the aspects to both of these greatly affects the personality and the emotional makeup of each of us.

The Movement

Is the world changing? Is your world changing? Do you feel it? Are you part of it? This is the initiation of your new moment; the start! Although there are many others who are on this path, your change is unique and one unto itself. You are, however, certainly part of the whole and a member of the grand scheme. Take a close look. Realize that it has begun, and yes, you are part of it. You cannot question the change as it has been burning inside you all your life. The time has come for you to move beyond any limitation you may have allowed to exist in the past.

Belief structures begin with you and you hold the key to their existence. The process is already activated and you have been brought here to do your part. What is your part? Why are you here? Be patient my friend, the door is opening slowly. In the beginning, you only get glimpses-- partial views--fleeting movements, but as time progresses, you move forward with a fuller picture.

This awakening can begin at any age. Some are born to it; others develop into it. Some awaken slowly; others awaken immediately. We all move at our own rate. We all come together and work as a unit, with one clear focus. It is simple and it is pure. It begins with Love-- what else can it be. This has to be the starting point as this is the core, the foundation. The projection of this one pure source opens the door.

Love is beyond all measure and cannot be scrutinized. It cannot falter and it never ends. Love is pure and cannot be filtered. The essence of love has no boundaries and encompasses everything. Even impurity can be transformed through the spirit of love. Nothing is untouchable and everything is within loves reach.

Allow the transformation to take hold by believing without cause for belief. It just is, pure and simple. Let love lead you and begin the conversion. Have faith that you belong, that you are part of the grand picture, regardless of past endeavours, regardless of belief, regardless of the pain you have endured. Open up to your source and let love radiate first within you and then in an outward motion to everything that surrounds you. You do not have to do anything just give yourself to this single purpose. You cannot fail! You will not be judged! Now is your time to believe, to accept and to know.

Moon in Aries

The Moon in Astrology is an important aspect in the Natal Chart. It expresses the emotional makeup of the individual and the sign it is in and the aspects to it signify how well the emotions are controlled and how well they are expressed. There are signs that are stronger or more powerful for the Moon’s placement and the sign position will signify the emotional interaction between people. We will be discussing the Moon placement in Aries, but we will not be going into the different expressions that the emotional makeup can take through aspects to other planets.

With the Moon in Aries or the Moon in the first house (the first house is ruled by Aries) there is a degree of impatience with many issues in life, especially those that pertain directly to the Moon in Aries individual. They generally know what they want, how to get it and very little can stop them in achieving their objectives. Their own emotional needs come first and this can make them somewhat selfish with their intentions. There is an inherent need for acting out and speaking in a straight forward manner. These individuals express their needs precisely -- just what it is that they need. This is very apparent and they will be persistent and stick to their own personal goals through thick or thin. In the end, they usually get what they want.

This is not a soft placement for the Moon and when faced with adversity, they will act out aggressively and fight for what they believe is their right. They take things personally and if you intentionally hurt them emotionally, initially they might reach out in an aggressive form. Once the smoke settles, however, they forget fairly easily and are ready to begin a new, with vigor and enthusiasm. They generally believe in themselves and have inner fortitude but little staying power.

Moon in Aries people are usually self-confident and somewhat abrasive and their temperament varies, with plenty of ups and downs. They are ruled by their own emotional needs, not others. Weaker personalities will be swallowed up alive by Moon in Aries personalities. If you were threatened, these individuals will be the first to come to your rescue and defend you in almost any situation. They could be considered fearless, and do not back down from confrontation.

Discord is well known by these individuals and many grew up in a family circle where they had to fight for their rights and to be noticed. The home front was somewhat of a battle field and this accounts for their nature. They know what they want and how to get it, and will push their way through in order to come out on top.

Moving Forward

Throughout our lives, we reach junctions where we confront our own shortcomings and overcome obstacles placed before us. It is important to understand that in order to move forward in our life’s pursuit, we must take some responsibility for the situations that occur. In some circumstances, other people seem to force issues down our throats and we must contend with them in our own terms. Life often throws curve balls at the most inappropriate time and we are forced to make adjustments and sometimes on a large scale.

We have to learn to roll with the punches, pick up the pieces and move on. We have to let go of hurt and blame in order to overcome. This may be very difficult, but possible if you were to look at life from a broader scope with the understanding that life’s events, particularly the prime events, are sometimes fateful and out of our control. The purpose of such events is to force individuals into looking and going deeper into the meaning of their life. Sometimes, it takes drastic measures to break down the impenetrable wall that people put up as a protective barrier.

Sometimes events of magnitude occur to make us aware of the frailties of life and to bring us to the understanding that life is precious and not to be taken for granted. There will be times when loved ones leave us, sometimes completely unexpectedly, and we have to find a way to carry on and move forward with our lives. Life seems unfair and even unjust when these incidents confront our otherwise relatively passive existence, but moving forward with the knowledge that life does carry on is paramount and a step that must be taken.

Live within the framework of understanding, knowing that life will present you with unwelcomed events from time to time. Know, however, that through the through processes that take time mental anguish eventually resolves unless we put up a wall of resistance to healing. With acceptance, we do mend. Find that place within that offers forgiveness, that offers hope and that provides you with serenity and peace. Move forward knowing that the objective in life is to grow spiritually from all experience, regardless of its nature. There is something good in everything; you just have to dig deep enough to find the true purpose.

THE LAST DAYS

As you move through with experience and elevate yourself in life, what do you want to be remembered for? How will others recall the experience of your life and the impact you had on them? These are all important questions and you should dig deep and carefully consider what you might be leaving behind when this earthly experience is complete.

Regardless of age, our lives could come to an abrupt end at any moment, when we least expecting it. That is usually how things work, is it not? You can spend your life worrying about potential shortcomings and they may surface, but usually they just pass by with little impact. You can, however, now take an honest look at how you have been living your life to date. The past is insignificant in that it is gone and you cannot change what has transpired, but you can change what will be.

Death is inevitable and most likely at that point we will review our life. What do you want to leave behind? How will others remember you and what pertinent knowledge can be passed on so that you may leave an imprint on someone’s life? You may need to ask yourself these questions and perhaps upon careful and honest analysis, make some alterations so that you can leave behind something relevant, something meaningful and perhaps even something enlightening.

You can begin today and initiate the adjustments for the new you. It is not important about what others may think of the transformations that may begin to surface. What others think is nowhere near as important as what you think and how you view yourself. The supreme guidance that is always present comes from within and suggests alternatives to everyday living. It is up to you to pay heed and replace what no longer serves you well with something that you can be proud of.

It is true; you can start now if you make that mental decision, offering yourself to the greater potential that rests within us all. You can and will move forward with this knowledge, that knowledge being, that we are all capable of making necessary adjustments to our lives at any moment, at anytime and anywhere. It is up to you to make the change, to awaken to your highest ideal and to begin now.

The Sextile in Astrology

The sextile is considered a major aspect although the orb (degree between two planets) is considerably less than the other major aspects in Astrology. The conjunction, trine, square and opposition are all considered major aspects and most Astrologers give these aspects a maximum of 7-10 degree orb. The sextile usually has an orb of influence of a maximum of up to 5-7 degrees. When planets are in orb, they influence one another. The sextile aspect is represented by two planets or significant points in the chart that are between 53 to 67 degrees apart. The closer they are to being direct, (60 degrees for a sextile), the stronger the affect it has in the Chart.

The sextile is similar in meaning to the trine, in that is suggests an easy flow, and the opportunity to make something come together. It is an aspect of opportunity and unlike the trine, you usually have to get the momentum moving through your own efforts. The trine seems to flow without much effort or input. The sextile, as well as the trine, usually implies gratification and an aspiration towards a harmonious outcome.

Planets in sextile suggest occasions to harmonize the energies of each planet with one another, creating an opportunity aimed towards a favourable conclusion. With a sustained effort, it is quite possible to make the most of this aspect. Depending on the planets involved, for example Pluto in sextile to Venus, the potential for higher earnings and the amalgamation of large sums of money, particularly if they are located in the eighth house (the house of big business and joint finances as well as inheritance) and the tenth house (the house of status in life, occupation and standing in the community) have a higher percentage of probability, than if this aspect was a square.

As suggested, sextiles are aspects of opportunity, sometimes these opportunities fall into one’s lap and other times one needs to give a little push to make things happen. In most Natal (birth) Charts, there are sextiles, usually several. Astrology can point the way by offering insight into the potential abilities available through the utilization of these sextiles. Your Natal Chart comes to life when deciphered using sound Astrological techniques.

A Life of Giving

Do you ever sit and ponder your true purpose? The answer is so simple, (not to say that there is not more than one complete answer), but if you follow this simple suggestion, you can move forward knowing that you have at least one foot on the correct path.

Life is about giving. This is the key and it must be without any thought of return-- just giving without measure. It is that simple and if you open your heart to this simple truth, you are well on your way to your life’s purpose. You are the instrument. You are the example. You are the light.

It is plain and simple. That is it. There is nothing more, nothing less. This is the starting point. Enjoy your journey with purpose!

The Quintile in an Astrology Chart

The quintile is an Astrological aspect that is expressed through a specific style the individual practices. This style is linked to creativity and fosters a distinctive ability to express a certain uniqueness in their work. The quintile is linked to the mind and has an affinity with the planet Mercury, in that these individuals impose their ideas on the outside world, either through the written word or some creative outlet. It is said that individuals with several quintiles (aspects 72 degrees apart) or bi-quintiles (144 degrees apart) have a unique style that distinguishes them from others.

There is an obsessional quality linking the work these people do together with the amount of time they spend on work. They need to master this quality, and will pursue their obsession until it is perfect; however, they believe it never will be. This talent is uncommon in that it is not something that is learned from outside sources. There is an innate quality to their particular interest which is not shared by the common person. Some believe that this is a gift and this gift is exceptional in that it is not taught. Many Astrologers consider quintiles to be a God given talent experienced only by very few.

Many charts have two possibly even three such aspects. If your chart has three or more, this would apply to you. If your Progressed Chart has several quintiles and bi-quintiles, it could be a creativity that is being developed. The development of this creative flair, however, is not something that is taught in general terms. It is something being developed through spiritual connections so that it can be used for the benefit of others.

Normal orbs (allowable extended degrees between planets to form aspects) of the traditional aspects used in Astrology usually are between 3 to 5 degrees. Many Astrologers use a much wider orb. The quintile should only be within one degree of exact. The orb is very tight and only in effect when within these guidelines.

When determining the effects of these unique aspects, one must first consider the natal potential along with the nodal positions before analyzing quintiles and bi-quintiles. As suggested, quintiles are God given talents not taught through experience, and when you take into consideration all of the above, a clearer picture begins to emerge.

Commission the preparation of a chart to find out the special qualities that might surface in your chart. All charts have special qualities whether that be by quintiles or otherwise. Your chart is unique unto itself and there are few charts that link together perfectly as we are all born at different times and on different days and in different countries. Delve deeper into your life and discover yourself through Astrology, one of many tools used in the modern day developmental awakening.
