The Quintile in an Astrology Chart

The quintile is an Astrological aspect that is expressed through a specific style the individual practices. This style is linked to creativity and fosters a distinctive ability to express a certain uniqueness in their work. The quintile is linked to the mind and has an affinity with the planet Mercury, in that these individuals impose their ideas on the outside world, either through the written word or some creative outlet. It is said that individuals with several quintiles (aspects 72 degrees apart) or bi-quintiles (144 degrees apart) have a unique style that distinguishes them from others.

There is an obsessional quality linking the work these people do together with the amount of time they spend on work. They need to master this quality, and will pursue their obsession until it is perfect; however, they believe it never will be. This talent is uncommon in that it is not something that is learned from outside sources. There is an innate quality to their particular interest which is not shared by the common person. Some believe that this is a gift and this gift is exceptional in that it is not taught. Many Astrologers consider quintiles to be a God given talent experienced only by very few.

Many charts have two possibly even three such aspects. If your chart has three or more, this would apply to you. If your Progressed Chart has several quintiles and bi-quintiles, it could be a creativity that is being developed. The development of this creative flair, however, is not something that is taught in general terms. It is something being developed through spiritual connections so that it can be used for the benefit of others.

Normal orbs (allowable extended degrees between planets to form aspects) of the traditional aspects used in Astrology usually are between 3 to 5 degrees. Many Astrologers use a much wider orb. The quintile should only be within one degree of exact. The orb is very tight and only in effect when within these guidelines.

When determining the effects of these unique aspects, one must first consider the natal potential along with the nodal positions before analyzing quintiles and bi-quintiles. As suggested, quintiles are God given talents not taught through experience, and when you take into consideration all of the above, a clearer picture begins to emerge.

Commission the preparation of a chart to find out the special qualities that might surface in your chart. All charts have special qualities whether that be by quintiles or otherwise. Your chart is unique unto itself and there are few charts that link together perfectly as we are all born at different times and on different days and in different countries. Delve deeper into your life and discover yourself through Astrology, one of many tools used in the modern day developmental awakening.
