THE JUPITER RETURN

Transiting Jupiter has a cycle of 12 years when it returns to its natal position in our Astrology chart. Each planet has a return cycle and you can prepare a chart for that specific moment in time when each planet comes back to its original position. The “Return” chart is read like a natal chart but would be focused on the energies of the specific focal planet.

 

You can delineate the Jupiter return every twelve years (approximately) by looking into the planet’s placement in the birth chart and then correlate transiting Jupiter to the same degree and minute it is at in the birth chart.

 

The house position will be the area of life that will bring opportunities, hope, good luck, and expansion. Jupiter brings with it an optimistic approach to the areas of life dictated by the house position. This will be an area of growth and expansion. The opportunities for a growth in finances are increased, as well as potential good fortune in personal ways and in the occupation. Once again, this is all reflective of the house position of Jupiter as well as the aspects Jupiter makes within the birth chart and the transits it will be receiving during the return period.

 

Jupiter nearly always promotes growth in some fashion or another; the only catch might be if it is in aspect to Saturn. Jupiter pushes for expansion, optimism, and good luck, while Saturn pushes for structure and discipline. Saturn is often associated with lessons, delays, and shortfalls especially if not enough preparation has been carried out.

 

There can be expansion problems especially if Jupiter is found in the first house, as weight gain is possible. Over-optimism and grand expectations can sometimes lead to less than expected results.

 

Make sure you also have a look at the house Jupiter rules in the birth chart. The house with Sagittarius on the cusp will also promote all the things that Jupiter offers.

 

It is important that you use the energies during this return cycle as this does not happen frequently.  The general feeling of good fortune can make you sit idle and do nothing with the energies at hand. Do not squander what is available to you.  Use this time to build for the future but enjoy it while it lasts.

 

If Jupiter moves into retrograde during the return and crosses its natal position several times, these energies will last longer than normal and will enhance opportunities each time it crosses this specific point in your chart. If the retrograde movement affects our chart, there are usually three contacts.

 

Take advantage of these energies regardless if Jupiter goes retrograde or not.

BE YOUR TRUE AUTHENTIC SELF

There is truly no better person you can be then your true authentic self.  For some and the many masks that are worn, it will be necessary to go deep to uncover who that person really is. 

 

The true you is not your so-called negative characteristics.  The true self is that person you recognize in the true highest regard. 

 

For some individuals they may have only allowed this true self to shine through a hand full of times in their life.  This true self is always with us and is our guiding force, the core of our being.

 

Think of the best person you could be, and you will understand self.  Be proud of this person and let you shine.  The true you is your higher self, but is also completely connected to your physical you.

 

What others think of who you is not who you are.  These opinions are only important to ego.  What others think is not important, but what you believe is of utmost importance. 

 

What you focus on builds over time and if you do not like what you see, change your perception, and pay more heed to what you do like about self.  Over time this will build and eventually become very apparent.

 

Many search for happiness and contentment but this is not found outside of self.  It is not found through partnerships.  It is a choice and is found within. 

 

Discover self as there is always more to discover. 

 

You orchestrate your life by what you believe is possible.  Remove the limitations.  Release fear.  You are in control and you are love.  Let it shine.

TRANSITING MARS IN POSITIVE ASPECT

 

We posted a rather turbulent rendition of Mars in Aries on July 17 and 24, 2020, and would now like to speak in terms of the transit of Mars in positive aspect (trine and sextile) during this same time frame which will last into January of 2021.

 

Before we begin with the positive transits of Mars we would just like to touch on the square between transiting Mars to transiting Pluto, especially while in retrograde as Mars moves from 28 degrees Aries in September down to 15 degrees and then becomes direct again in November, 2020.  It will once again move through all these degrees (15-28) by early January of 2021.  The strongest period will be from August to October which is when transiting Saturn comes within 3-4 degrees to conjunct Pluto, although not as intense as it was when they were conjunct one another from December 2019 to February 2020. 

 

This would have been the most challenging time and we wrote about it in 2019 with the powerful alignment of transiting Pluto and Saturn.  August to October,2020 could be the most aggressive periods for this more current activity and will be of a challenging nature affecting many of us on some level.  This post is not meant to cause fear, only to bring things to light so we can prepare for this potential and use our knowledge and abilities to bring light into the world through positive alignment with our celestial bodies and their energy.  We all have a part to play and together we can do wonderous things.

 

Now in regard to the trines and sextiles, anyone who has a natal planet in the fire signs (Leo and Sagittarius) within the framework of these degrees (roughly 15 to 28) will be experiencing the trine we speak of. Anyone who has planets (angles should be included in both aspects) either in Gemini, or Aquarius will have the sextile from Mars within the same degrees.  You can allow an orb of up to 5 degrees. 

 

Mars in positive aspect will enhance energies to allow you to push ahead with your objectives and the houses will define which areas of life are involved.  There will be more drive to achieve and a strong belief in your own personal abilities (Mars in Aries).  This is a time when you can advance a cause or something you have been working on for some time and bring it to the next level. 

 

When Mars is in direct motion it works much better than when it is in retrograde.  I would use the retrograde cycle to decipher how you want to move ahead and then make your move when it is direct again beginning November 14 when Mars will be at 15 degrees.  As it passes over any point by transit making a trine (energy flow is free) or sextile (energy flow offers opportunities that can be taken advantage of), this will be a great time to forge ahead.  Retrograde motion, as mentioned, is a time for planning. 

 

Do not forget Mars in Aries really wants to push ahead perhaps too aggressively, and without proper forethought and planning your objectives may not reach full potential.  So, take is slow and think things out before moving ahead.

BRIGHTER DAYS AHEAD

 

It is said that we learn from our shortcomings and from the stressful events in our lives. Let’s face it, who amongst us has not had to deal with difficult periods in their life? Why is this necessary? Could we not learn from less stressful situations?

 

If life event were our decisions, would we shelter ourselves from these hardships? Would we choose an easier path to enlightenment? It is said that the best learned lessons are the challenging ones, but why is that?

 

We accept the concept that life teaches us what we need to learn, but do we simply accept each of the challenges that are provided by life? In reality, there is little choice as to which lessons knock on our door, and we have to adapt to these conditions. It is what it is!

 

Fighting our life lessons serves little purpose. These lessons in life are what we need to growth. We must dig deep to find our strength to move forward. A battle that is fought for righteous reasons is a battle well fought, but the end results of a battle which is fought through ego will not be in our favour.

 

We are equipped to handle most of our life’s circumstances. There are times that we can simply reach within for the answers. There are also times that we do not feel that we have the strength to continue. When we reach these testing times and we have exhausted all our reserves, it is appropriate to seek assistance. Whether the assistance comes from your higher source or a trained professional, the resolution is attainable and can be found.

 

Understand that we are in control of our reaction to life’s events. We always have the capability of putting the issues into proper perspective. Attitude and belief structure are key ingredients in dealing with and resolving issues that enter our lives. Trained professionals do not do the work for us. They provide us with ideas and positive reinforcement. In the end we make the adjustments necessary.

 

Regardless of how we address an issue, we are the ones who activates the resolution. Accept your capabilities and the acknowledge that the strength necessary to rise above each and every challenge resides within and is always accessible.

TRANSITING SATURN OPPOSITION NATAL SUN IN CANCER

 

Transiting Saturn moved into Aquarius in March of 2020 and moved back into Capricorn on July 2 but will return into the sign of Aquarius on December 18, 2020. 

 

Those individuals with their Sun sign in the late degrees of Cancer or early degrees of Leo will be experiencing the opposition from Saturn especially towards the end of 2020.  In a previous post www.holmastrology.com/apps/blog/show/46185173-transiting-saturn-opposition-natal-sun, we touched on the quincunx of transiting Pluto to the Natal Sun and while transiting Saturn is in quincunx to those with their Sun in the later degrees of Cancer, the added tension of Saturn brings not only challenging conditions but also what feels like a testing period where adjustments will need to take place or life will make adjustments on its own.

 

Saturn while in transit often presents us with challenges and lessons. It can often hamper advancement from a professional perspective. Much will depend on the house that Saturn is transiting through and the sign that it is in.

 

Current (July 2020) Saturn is in the sign of Capricorn which often points towards professional obligations and duties. This would be enhanced if for example Saturn was in the tenth house or sixth house in your chart.

 

Saturn wants us to work for our rewards and will push us and teach us perseverance and responsibility. When in opposition (Saturn in the sign of Aquarius), quite often someone else has an influential part in the picture. Perhaps someone is pushing us or perhaps they are standing in the way. In many cases, oppositions are considered a challenging aspect. It can indicate that those people involved are what make us push ourselves even harder, so although challenging, it can work in favourable ways especially with the final outcome, due to the work we may put into whatever we are doing. The other person may be a hindrance but a beneficial one. Because of them, we might feel that to achieve what we are trying to do, we must try harder and not let anything come between us and our goals.

 

The Sun in some ways is like Mars, in that it is often associated with our goals and the push we might have in reaching these objectives. The Sun can speak in terms of inner drives and ambitions and, depending on the sign our Sun is in, will be the way we propel ahead in terms of these aspirations.

 

Those with their Sun in Cancer are often home bodies and the family is especially important to them. They have a need to nurture and care for others and are often considered overly sensitive to the vibrations and experiences around them. If Saturn is in opposition to your Sun in Cancer you may be experiencing some challenging conditions linked to the family or perhaps the home. Alternatively, there may be obstructions from an emotional perspective linked to the working environment or your occupation. Much will depend on what house your Sun is found in within the birth chart.

 

If, for example, your Sun is in the fourth house and Saturn is in the tenth house, there could be some challenging conditions linked to the home and work. Perhaps one is more demanding than the other and you must decide how to spread your time fairly. Perhaps your occupation is creating difficulties at home and you need to stop bringing working issues home with you. Perhaps there is the potential that you might lose your job which in turn is affecting the home environment and your sense of security. An extensive review of the natal chart and other transits will help define how this opposition is playing out in your life.

 

Although oppositions are said to be demanding and challenging especially when we are speaking of Saturn, if you take the time to see what lessons are in place for you to learn, you can move through this lesson and grow from it. Saturn often provides challenging conditions in life for us to gain strength and eventually Saturn can create a more suitable condition which promises more stability and structure for the future. Much depends on what you choose to do with the energies at hand and how you handle them from an emotional perspective.

 

Let’s see how this pans out over the long haul and be sure to do your due diligence. Remember to acknowledge how this might help you over the long haul.  Saturn may create challenging conditions, but it is not our foe.

TRANSITING MARS IN ARIES

 

Mars is the ruler of Aries.  Mars moved into the sign of Aries on June 29, 2020 and it will remain in Aries, (going retrograde on September 9) until it moves into Taurus on January 7, 2021.  We may have to get used to the energies of Mars in its own sign of Aries over this unusually lengthy extended prior of time. 

 

Mars has been in Pisces, a rather passive placement from May 14 through until, as mentioned, June 29, 2020.  Mars will manifest in a much more feisty fashion while in Aries.  Mars is the god of war and is turbulence.  Mars’ energies stimulate action and activity related to dynamic interchange.  Mars is action oriented and does not work in gentle ways. 

 

Aries is known as a self-starter and is concerned with its own primal needs.  Those with strong unrestricted Aries in their charts often have a me-first attitude and Mars will push this need.  This is not to say that strong Aries individuals are only out for themselves, as much will depend on their evolutionary state and in many cases they are there for others when others are afraid or are experiencing restriction with moving forward in life.

 

On a world scale, using Mundane Astrology, it will be interesting to see how this energy is unleashed in society.  Riots and violence are associated with Mars’ energy.  There is nothing subtle about its energies and we will have to watch for uprising and difficulty with people in positions of authority who have strong placements in their own Astrology charts as they will be influenced by this transit of Mars. 

 

Mars does not take orders or direction well.  Its influence gives orders, and its influence creates the need to dictate its own authority over those of a weaker nature.  Evolution through aggression could be part of the profile as we go through this timeframe. 

 

It is important to recognize that under this influence we have to have factors in our natal charts implicating the energies of Mars in Aries.  Conjunctions, squares and oppositions work in ways that may not be overly pleasant, while trines and sextiles will ease things.  Also, those that are passive in their nature and are infiltrated with this influence are more likely to be subject to aggressive behaviour than those individuals with a more even temperament or those with aggression strongly indicated in their natal charts.  These latter individuals may become the aggressors we are speaking of.

 

If we learn to use the energies of Mars in a more harnessed manner and filter its energies in a more positive direction, we can do great work and make vast, fast moving changes that can be favourable for many, or at least those that use these energies appropriately or in some cases those that become swept away by its energies. 

 

Mars in Aries can make things happen.  This will not be the time to sit back and let things slide.  While Mars is direct, we can use its energies in more positive ways than when in retrograde as its energies will not have full expression.  Some things may be held up or issues may be present that interfere with plans while in retrograde motion.  It is always best to move ahead when planets are in direct motion.

 

Using Mars’ energies appropriately, we can move mountains.  Use Mars’ energies in a negative fashion and the ramifications may be (saying it mildly) “less than desirable”. 

 

As always, we direct life by our attitude and actions speak much louder than words.  Use this time wisely.

SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS

 

When you work to assist others, have you ever asked yourself why you are helping? 

 

Are we looking for some type of reward, whether this is from others or whether this comes from pumping up our own ego? 

 

Is there something in it for us or is it coming from unconditional love?

 

I believe that most of us have admirable intention and we act to assist others for their benefit but there is the added benefit of feeling good about what we are doing. 

 

When someone reaches out to us for assistance, I personally believe we should try our best to provide the right assistance for that individual.  It is good practice to look internally to know how to be of assistance. 

 

How can we take credit for helping someone when all we do is plant a seed?  The resolution does not come from us.  Only the individual we are trying to help can make the actual change. Most times the seed we plant is given to us from higher sources and we are simply the conduit of the information.  Do you praise the copper cable in your house for carrying the electricity to whatever requires the electricity to operate?

 

If we can recognize the fact that we are not the ones orchestrating the process but only the conduit that is open enough to receive the answers, we can proceed with little to no ego involvement.  This is the beauty with healing from any source, whether that be actual physical healing, emotionally healing, mental healing, spiritual healing, etc.  We are not the originators, so cast aside ego’s need for rewards and control.

 

We are here to assist on some level or another.  In many cases, this begins at home with us, then spreads to our families.  We all have connections and resources within that can assist our profound journey. 

 

Do not forget who we are….. spirit living an earthly life.  

 

Know that we are capable of anything once we decide to do it.  Belief in self but there is no need to step up on a pedestal. 

 

What a wonderful experience when we simply live life and adhere to the higher principles of love and giving.

SUN IN LEO JULY 23, 2020

 

The Sun moves into the regal sign of Leo on July 23, 2020 locally. 

 

Leo is the sign of royalty and in some ways, these individuals carry themselves as Kings and Queens.  They command attention wherever they go, and others will notice their flair.  When they enter a room, they will be noticed.  This is not to say that they demand attention but they do stand out and unless there are other factors in the chart that makes these individuals more meek, (perhaps several planets in the sign of Pisces or in the 12^th house or more subdued like strong Taurus or perhaps Capricorn in their charts) they definitely stand out.

 

Leo likes control or at least to be of a helping hand in life’s situations.  They are always there to lend a hand in times of struggle and even if you are making plans, they always have ideas on how to better things and make them flow easier.  They are helpful although some people might be offended when one of these helpful Leo individuals tries to take charge. 

 

Leo is ruled by the Sun and their helpfulness comes straight from the heart.

 

Leo individuals do like appreciation for their efforts and will not take kindly to those that try to take advantage of their generosity.  They do not like to be used but a pat on the back goes a long way.  They have a lot of energy being a fire sign.  They are also fixed in their opinions and at times will not listen when they honestly believe they know better. 

 

During the next few months, Mars will be in the sign of Aries which is also a fire sign, and in transit, it will be making a trine over the next six months to those with their Sun in the sign of Leo.  You can give yourself a five-degree orb as Mars approaches and two-degree orb as it moves out of orb.  Mars will go into retrograde during this period, so those with their Sun from 15-28 degrees will have Mars pass over their Sun by trine up to three times over this period.  Mars goes into retrograde motion on September 9 and remains in retrograde until November 14, 2020.  Check the ephemeris to see what degrees and when Mars will make a trine to your natal Sun.

 

Mars’ energies are about drive and ambition and those with their Sun in Leo may find periods during this phase when they can accomplish a lot.  These Leo individual must make sure they pace themselves and must realize that they can make changes or move in directions that line up with their goals in life.  They can also make personal changes and set goals for themselves at this time, making changes that reflect who they are and what they might want.

 

Mars is also about sexual drive and the desire to excel in this area of life as well.  If they happen to find someone whom they are attracted to, the push may be extraordinary.  They may feel a powerful draw to these individuals and the Leo sexual desires may rise to new proportions.  Do not forget Leo loves with all their heart, so make sure that there is more than just sex pushing for a connection under this influence.

BRING SOMETHING POSITIVE FORWARD

 

There are times when it is best to advance with a cause and times when we should just take time to reflect, and/or just have time to relax and release. 

 

When we are inspired to take action but instead sit idly by doing little or nothing, we are squandering an opportunity.  If we feel somewhat motivated and keep getting signs and hints that we should do something positive, we should listen.  We always have choices to make along our road of life and the worst thing we can do when we feel an urge to move ahead is to ignore the urge.

 

There is little to no positive significance with thinking and acting in negative terms, regardless of how real it may be.  This is wasted, non-productive time.  We can, with practice, switch our negative, self-defeating thoughts to thoughts and actions that will validate our beliefs in positivity and into affirmative action. 

 

We know the way life works and by re-focusing our attention in a positive directions we enhance the potential for something favourable to begin its rise.  The more that we are focused in this direction, the greater the effects.  There is power in numbers (even thoughts).

 

There have been times in the past when we had set dates and times on a worldwide scale and focused our attention together thereby enhancing whatever the focus may have be.  The problem with this is that it is short lived although powerful but may not have as great of an effect if the energies were being directed in a positive direction on a more persistent effort.

 

It is understood that we would have a difficult time trying to focus our attention consistently on these matters.  If we spend as much time as possible, especially when we initially realize that our focus is less than productive, and redirect towards a productive outlook, the overall affect can change direction (slowly in the beginning but just keep at it).

 

It is up to each of us to do our part by reiterating our “knowing” and focusing on what we know will bring light into our world.  Remember we are all one and the energy of many can have powerful ramifications.  Let us push to bring positive change into a much-needed direction.

NEW MOON IN CANCER JULY 20, 2020

 

On July 20, 2020 at 1:32 p.m. EDT, we will be experiencing a New Moon in Cancer at 28 degrees.  This New Moon will be in direct opposition to transiting Saturn which is at 28 degrees Capricorn conjunct transiting Pluto at 23 degrees.  We will also have the Part Of Fortune in square, the Vertex in Sextile and the North Node in Semi-Sextile all to this position of the New Moon.

TRANSITING PLUTO SQUARE NATAL MARS

 

The transit of Pluto to your natal Mars can be a very volatile combination.  The conjunction, square and opposition although different in their release of energy, all can have powerful ramifications and should not be dismissed lightly. 

 

This combination is powerful, influential, and often suggests energies that translate into aggressive behaviour.  This can come from outside forces, such as another individual, especially if it is an opposition. 

 

Squares indicate action and if someone else is part of the experience then perhaps not getting involved in any arguments and disruptions is a good idea.  Violent behaviour is often associated with this combination and getting out of the way of an aggressive individual would be a good idea.  This can also be related to sexual encounters or violence on many levels.  Worst case possibilities can speak of very challenging conditions, although there needs to be other indicators in the chart suggesting something similar.  It takes three or more indicators of something similar in action before energies are considered influential.

 

Mars with Pluto has been linked to accidents and sometimes this speaks of sharp objects being involved, other times this can speak of car accidents.  Never drive your car after a heated argument.  Find ways to calm down before you decide to drive. 

 

There[AM1]  are often power struggles with this square and the important piece of information about this combination is that squares push you to act, and if the energy is directed properly, you will seek a solution to the problem.

 

If this is a new relationship then often the fifth house is part of the picture, perhaps the act of sex has a powerful influence on what is taking hold.  Perhaps aggressive force is part of the drive behind this union.  Watch for being taken advantage of by a more aggressive individual and make sure that this is the road you want to take, as it could get out of hand.  Some find this attractive; others find this repulsive.  Much will depend on your own personal feelings about this type of interchange.

 

Pluto wants control and seeks power and if the second house is part of the picture there may be a need to dominate and overpower which can lead to feelings of insecurity and defeat.  Continuing with the second house, there may also be finances involved and security may stem from this area of life.  Perhaps the other individual has a lot of influence in the area of personal wealth.  There can be manipulation using sub-conscious motivations which affect you in mysterious ways.  This could be part of the profile if your Mars is in the twelfth and Pluto is in the second. 

 

Mars is about drive and ambition and when in the twelfth house there may be a push to find and relate to life’s mysteries and the psychic realm.
