We go out and buy the wonderful, well
thought out gifts and we know that they will bring some happiness or ease to the
receiver. Eventually, however, the new
wears off all “things”.
What can we give that will have lasting
qualities? What can we give that the new
will not wear off and will still have significance for years to come?
The only answer, we can come up with is
true unconditional love. Love can be
spread on so many levels.
How many are limited with their finances
and wish they could give a little more at special times of the year? Spending time with loved ones and sharing love
cost us nothing. It actual pays
dividends.
Unconditional love does not grow old and is
never outdated. Love radiates warmth
that the coziest of fires could never provide.
Love fills the room and is available for all. Holding a parent’s hand during a
conversation, offering our lap to a little one, spending time with a lonely
senior or friends that does not have family or snuggling with a partner....these
hold greater meaning that any material gift.
These are true gifts, the effects of which keep on giving.
If we struggle with what gift to give that
special individual on any day, we can give them a hug, hold their hand, put our
arms around them and tell them how much we love them. It is important to take time to share
ourselves. Our hearts will thank us.
