OUR GREATEST CHALLENGE

Make no mistake our single most challenging issue in life is to halt our ego’s relentless efforts to undermine our spiritual or mystical alignment.  As we have mentioned many times, we are here to experience life and to learn all as intended by our higher self.  These life events are here to teach us lessons that further our evolution and alignment us with oneness.

The ego attempts to halt our progress.  Ego is unyielding and insistent as it believes that if we achieve our objectives, we will cease its existence.  It fears annihilation and does not recognize that our objective is to put ego in its proper place, a place where it will assist us in ventures to gain insight into our own true identity.

Listening to the ego and identifying with it (believing that ego is you) only provides ego with strength and the ability to appear to be real.  In recognizing ego for what it truly is, a relentless thief of our peace, we can rectify our natural place in the order of things.  We will no longer be held captive and will be able to move freely towards our chosen direction, regardless of what that direction entails.

Identifying the ego in its infancy is beneficial and realizing that anything that goes against our natural harmonious flow is ego generated.  If ego is given full reign, we will automatically follow along blindly and we will believe intensely that ego is part of our true identity.  A free reign ego will deny us our most positive expression; whereas a controlled ego will push us forward and allow us to align with our inner self and its intention. 

Love is a by-product of our true endeavours and anything that falls short of this ingrained support system is aligned with a free reign ego.  Quieten the aggressor within and stifle its arrogant attitude to heightening its own status.  Allow the powerful loving self to resonate from within.

TRANSITING SATURN AND NEPTUNE IN SQUARE

The square between transiting Neptune and transiting Saturn has been in effect since May of this year (2016) and will remain in effect until October.  Saturn has been retrograde and will turns direct on August 13.  The wane is in effect into October.  During this five month period, the square can directly affect your life especially if you have these two planetary energies in aspect in your natal chart.  Even those that do not have this aspect in their birth charts will feel the subliminal effects of the Neptunian energies of spirituality and the alignment with the higher sources linked with Saturn (the task-maker and builder).  As you can imagine these energies together have struggles aligning their energies.  Saturn has to do with reality and focusing on energies in constructive earth-type activities.  Neptune deals with the less tangible and works in direct correlation with spirituality, intuition and psychic inclinations and the imaginative side of life.

Neptune suggests that there will be higher ideals set in place.  Saturn suggests that the core foundation has to be built on stable ground if any of these Neptunian high-minded ideologies are to be fundamentally sound and have any lasting qualities.  This could be classified as a testing ground for reality and the rational mind which is being established through spiritual alignment and the mystical approach in a solid structured way of living.

Saturn brings clarity to our maze of heightened awareness often associated with Neptune.  Although this aspect is a square, the potential, after some struggle, for more clarity is quite profound, if you approach mysticism in a realistic and orderly fashion.  You must adhere to ways that hold Neptune in sync with Saturn’s need for unobstructed and clear vision.  In other words, do not let your mind drift towards directions of deception or cloudiness and maintain a firm grip on reality, realizing real and tangible results from the mental consumption of varying aspects of intuitive insight.  You can recognize truth if you take a real and honest approach.

Although your objectives may be a little unclear and it may be very challenging to deal with everyday affairs, let alone mystical pursuits, if the groundwork is in place much can be discovered and put into practice once this aspect has been conquered.  Make your life as simple as possible and stay true to your beliefs even though they may seem challenged from time to time during this aspect.  Seek out the connectedness in all that surrounds you and challenge the “life of form” and any limited concrete belief structures that you have put in place. 

This is an opportunity to lift the veil of uncertainty and find greater truth.  It should be understood that any aspect can be molded to suit each and every situation and belief structure into something more tangible and reliable.  All aspects whether natal or transit can be utilized in positive ways to help provide you with strength and the ability needed to conquer any of life’s situation.

If you find that your views are pessimistic or unapproachable for some reason, take the time to review the situation as well as your own personal philosophy.  By doing so, you can set things straight.  Neptune provides you with the insight to achieve any of your pursuits as long as part of the process reduces the effect of ego.  There has to be consideration and assistance for others.  Saturn provides the stable environment to achieve these things.  This is the time, maybe not without a little struggle, to find insight and align yourself with the higher purpose you have been brought here to rediscover.

GAINING MOMENTUM

There are periods in life when you feel as though you are at a standstill and then suddenly the winds change and life gains momentum. 

What seemed almost impossible a few days before could now seem within reach and your view on life changes dramatically.  You will notice that just prior to the change you adjusted your point of view or your focus or simple let go of the stress.

Your state of mind plays a significant role in any advancement.  Your thought patterns and beliefs are what hold you back or push you forward (depending on what focus you have).  You can regain momentum as soon as you jump out of the cloud of self-pity or if you ride the wave of faith.  Once you come to terms that your attitude creates your reality, the tide of new beginnings flows freely.

Many hold fast to the idea that life is at fault and they never accept responsibility for their lives.  Once we accept responsibility, we also accept control.  Once we have control, we can move forward.  Realize the power of your thoughts.  Know the strength of your focus.   

This may sound as though it goes against our need to let go and let God but with faith comes a knowing that we are one with Source.  Source is love.  Through love, we can only have a positive focus.  Love nurtures and expands.  Love neither is a part of blame nor does it find fault.  Love is open and accepting.  Love sees the good in all things.  Through focus on this, we take control of where our life is heading and will see the good in even moment of every day.

Realize your part in the process and nurture your life through your focus, through faith that life is on track and through gratitude for every experience.

TIMERS IN ASTROLOGY

When reviewing an astrology chart and deciphering the aspects, there are several areas in the chart as well as planetary influences that are trigger for events.  Some of these specific points in the chart or intensity areas of the chart that define activity are the Midheaven, the Ascendant, the IC and the DC or Descendant.  These specific areas indicate activity and when linked with planetary influences will often depict times of activity.

The closer a planet moves into aspect to these areas, the stronger the potential for something happening, pertaining to the active area.  The planetary link and the aspect that these planetary links are making to these sensitive points will determine what actual event that will take place.  Activities often take place when these aspects are direct or exact and the areas of life may indicate the areas that will be affected (for example if the MC or Midheaven is affected it might be the occupation, if the DC or Descendant is activated in could have something to do with relationships, etc.).

These can also be timing factors when we are deciphering a natal chart.  We also have transits (moving planets) which also promote activity in the birth chart at these specific times.  These planets include the transiting Sun, transiting Mars, transiting Uranus as well as the progressed Moon.  These planets seem to intensify activity and often are used in conjunction with other aspects taking place in the chart which help to determine the timing of actual events.  Uranus and Mars are particularly powerful as each one pushes us into action.

The outer planets are significant in that they are in aspect for several years as they are often felt up to 5 degrees approaching and 2 to 3 degree separating.  Using these alone will make it very hard to come up with the exact timing of events although as mentioned, the closer to exact the aspect the more powerful its influence.  The inner planets (Sun, Mars) move rapidly through the zodiac and will only have an impact on the actual days during which they are direct.  Therefore it becomes easier to define when an exact time is appropriate for that specific activity.

The progressed Moon moves one degree per month, taking 2 1/2 years to move through a sign.  The progressed Moon’s influence is powerful for a full three months but intensifies in the middle month and can also be found when areas of life are being activated.

Using these timing influences we can determine relatively closely when events will happen; however, there are always other mitigating factors, such as Saturn delaying the activity, or Uranus and its impulsive action taking control.  One thing is for sure, Uranus’ influence will cause you to expect the unexpected. 

Some of the planetary sign positions also play a part in the equation, as Capricorn and Virgo often delay activity because of the need to re-define and make sure that it is best to make a move, while Aries and Gemini will push things forward into action.

All these influences are used in determining the type of activity anticipated and will determine who and when and in what fashion the energies of the activity might take place.  Some planets are very forceful in their actions, such as Pluto and Uranus, while other planets are laid back and reserved or slow in their action, such as Saturn and Neptune. 

It should be understood that astrology can pinpoint activity in our future, but when the event occur, it is our reaction to these events that will determine the effect that they will have on us and our life in general.

TRANSITING MARS GOING DIRECT

Transiting (current placement) Mars has been retrograde since April 17, 2016.  Mars has been in the sign of Sagittarius and went back into Scorpio during its retrograde cycle.  It turns direct in Scorpio at 23 degrees on June 29, 2016. 

Mars traditionally is reflective of energy directed outward.  During its retrograde cycle, those affected by this transit may have felt stagnated in their efforts and felt as though they had little to no energy.  This is particularly true if you have a natal planet in conjunction (the most powerful aspect), square or in opposition to transiting Mars.

The energy is turned inward, which is not a comfortable expression of Mars.  You may have felt that you could neither release your inner drive nor could you motivate yourself into a forward direction.  You may feel a release of energy once it turns direct again and what previously felt restricted or held back may now come to the forefront and be released.  Make sure that the release of these energies is not in an aggressive manner, even if you have felt thwarted in the past few months.

If, for example, you have had a conjunction with the Moon, you could have felt as though your emotions have been on hold or even though you had strong inner emotional reactions to life’s events and situations, you have not been able to release those emotions.  This could include wanting to make a change in your life.  Your emotions have been so stifled that they has kept you at bay and nothing seemed to have move in the manner you wanted.  All you really wanted to do was to express how you felt on an emotion level.  After Mars turns direct, you should now be able to express yourself which is what you wanted to do for what seemed like an eternity.

If Saturn has been involved in the equation with this retrograde Mars, this cycle would actually have been to your advantage as you may have needed this time to examine all the details before plunging into some activity.  This was a time to examine and review all details to make sure that you were prepare and on a solid foundation before you moved ahead.  Saturn normally restricts action and suggests that you build a proper base before you move ahead and your drive would have been held back which gave you the perfect opportunity to prepare.  Once Mars goes direct again, you may be ready to move ahead in your endeavours. 

Mars is also about sexual energies and sexual drive, and you may have felt as though you were stifled in this area.  Perhaps you wanted to pursue a sexual union with someone you were interested in and the events never seemed to play out to allow this union to come together.  You may find that once Mars goes direct that things move along in ways that were previously stagnated or held back.  Just make sure that your feelings go beyond just a sexual nature and that you actually care about each other.  Mars tends to be overly aggressive when it comes to sex and the sexual drive, especially when it moves through Scorpio.

Check to see which house transiting Mars is moving through as this will indicate the areas of life involved in the process.  Also you will need to review which houses are involved with other planetary energies and how they may surface or fail to surface during the retrograde cycle and again when Mars goes direct.  The placement of natal Mars by house position will also be highlighted.  Transiting Mars may pass over planets or significant areas of the natal chart (ascendant and midheaven) three times as it goes through the retrograde and direct cycles making these areas of extreme importance.  If Mars stations on a planet or significant point in the birth chart, it will also be noteworthy.

LET LIFE LEAD

It is important to put our energies into constructive outlets and to build a solid foundation in life.  There are times when life directs us to push forward and there are times when life directs us to stay put and contemplate new ideas.  If we follow these leads, we find that we are less prone to struggles.  We are being led by a higher force that understands our needs and knows what is best for every situation at hand.

Sometimes the directions are very straight forward and then again sometimes the directions are more subtle in their expression.  If we are tuned into the energies and we allow our awareness, we will not miss these subtle instructions.  Much depends on how open we are to the information being received.  We do, however, always have a choice with our decision, as the learning process is always in our hands.  We might do well to listen to the advice when it comes our way, however.  The lessons are learned much more easily when we receive the message.  Most times it is best to allow life to lead but there still will be choices to be made even with this allowance.

When life seems to dictate, there is undoubtedly a valid reason.  Perhaps if left to our own decisions, we may have taken a more challenging route or perhaps we may have made a choice that will hinder our intended progress.  We are rarely at the mercy of life, but when we feel as though we are perhaps it is best to take a back seat and see where life takes us.

It is important to weigh out all of our options before deciding on any course of action,  to pay heed and not fight when a route seems inevitable.  To fight our lessons serves only one purpose and that is to make the lesson a hard one.  Our intuition, when allowed to develop, seldom will lead us astray.  It will take us where we need to go to learn the lessons set out for this life - the path of lease restriction is the one to take us where you need to go.

Flood your mind with positive concepts and visualize your dreams.  This will lay the foundation to assist in building a reliable lifeline and a clear vision of where we are heading.  The future is in our hands.  If we open to the energies that guide, we will find the route that suits us best.  Have faith!

STATIONARY RETROGRADE AND STATIONARY DIRECT

When a planet is transiting through the zodiac, the planets from Mercury to Pluto have cycles of retrograde and direct.  The Sun and the Moon never go into retrograde motion.  The Planets, at times, appear to slow down.  They then appear to stop their forward motion.  During this apparent stoppage of motion, it is known as stationary retrograde.  The planet will remain in this stationary position for up to a few days duration, depending on the planet in question.  After the planet moves into retrograde motion (appears to be moving backwards) and then completes its retrograde cycle, it once again begins to slow down and then appear to come to a stop.  This is termed stationary direct in Astrology.  The length of time a planet is in stationary direct also depends on the planet involved.  The outer planets remain in their stationing position longer than the inner planets.

There has been some controversy concerning the meaning of stationary positions in the natal chart.  Some Astrologers, including this Astrologer, share the concept through experience that the stationary direct as well as the stationary retrograde have a very powerful influence on a person’s natal chart.

It has been noted that an individual with a planet in a stationary position in the birth chart will have emphasizes on the defining energies of the planet involved.  There is also influence from the sign that the planet is in and the house placement of that planet.  Some Astrologers have found evidence that the stationary planet can be the most powerful influence in the birth chart and that the energies of this planet will rule much of the activity that will be released.  At some point in the person’s life, these energies and the influence of the planet will become very significant.  The energies of the stationary planet have been linked to the defining purpose of the individual’s life.  This Astrologer believes that if there are other signatures within the birth chart that point in the same direction and imply something very similar, this is the case, particularly if the North or South nodes are involved in the equation.

It has been suggested that someone with a stationary retrograde planet in the birth chart will at some point experience the energies related to the planet involved within the area of life the house dictates as well as the energies of the sign it falls under.  However the individual with the stationary retrograde will only discover this after some time of inner reflection as well as much life experiences that will lead to an awakening of sorts depending on the planet and its placement.  This may take time as well as much self study or thought-provoking experiences before it is released.  This is similar to a retrograde planet in the birth chart as it suggests that there is some inner reflection required before action can be taken.

The stationary direct individual has a different experience although the process is the same.  Its influence depends on the sign the stationary planet is in and the house placement.  However the stationary direct individual has a much easier time unleashing the energies associated with the planet and its placement.  Things seem to work much easier and on a more outward expression.  The motivating factor that facilitates the desired information or acknowledgement and understanding can be released at a much early stage in life or under less restrictive conditions, working on a much similar manner as does a planet once it goes direct.

The energies released and the influence of the planet involved is still of primary importance but the direct stationary energies seem to come through in a much easier manner than the energies of the retrograde stationary planet.

WHO ARE YOU?

We are spiritual beings living an earthly existence; not earthly beings striving to become spiritual.  With this understanding, is it really that important to make a name for ourselves, to become important, and to achieve in material ways?  Are these relevant at all?

Some question this thinking.  “If I am truly a spiritual being, why am I even living under the conditions that I currently do?”  “How can an earthly life be significant?”

Do not underestimate the significance of this earthly existence.  It is our understanding that there are valuable lessons that can only be learned through earthly matters.  A perfect example is “Why is money such an important focus in this life?”  It certainly does not look as though money’s reign will be over any time soon, even though the system that is it based on clearly does not work.

Money, in particular, must bring with it valuable lessons for us to learn.  It must rank high on the list and the lessons it teaches us must play an important role in our evolving story.  We do not have to look very far to find why during this earthy experience money holds relevance in the human mind.  On the plus side, money can certainly make life easier due to the system we have put in place, but on the flip side, we, through our lust for money, have created greed, hatred and corruption.  Apparently is can (through our actions) live up to its name of being the route to all evil.  Again, on the other side of the coin, money can (again through our actions) foster the art of giving and learning lessons of gratitude.  We can, therefore, learn much from a life of influence from our very reactions to money.

So who are we?  Are we an accumulation of what we have achieved – of what we own?  Are we the face we show to the world in material terms? 

Are we a blending of our life’s experiences and our acquaintances?  We become who we want to become, although it takes a life time to get there, at least for those who innately understand the concept of creating self.  If you do not like whom you feel you are, you can change that through self study and action but most of all through attitude.

Too many people expect others to create that desired changes, to make all the moves and to help correct any signature personality traits that we have acquired over time.  This only serves to diminish our responsibility of our own actions and the earthly personality that we have created.  We shrug off responsibility for our lives and who we have become.  In order to grow and move forward, we must accept that it is our responsibility to mould ourselves.  Who we are now is a reflection of what we have allowed ourselves to become.

Who are you?  You are much more than this earthy being but during this life, you are what you choose to become and you are constantly creating what lies ahead with your every thought, your every expectation and your every move.  You are here to experience life through a physical existence.  Take responsibility for this life.  It is in your hands.  Live up to your own expectation and listen to your higher self which is alive and well within.

SUN IN CANCER

This year, the Sun moves into the sign of Cancer today, June 20.  Anyone with their Sun in this position, strong planetary influences in the fourth house, Sun in the fourth house and the rising sign in Cancer should resonate with this post.

The Sun Sign represents who we are on the inside and, among other things, has to do with our identity and the way we assimilate into our earthly existence.  The Ascendant or rising sign is an expression of who we are on the outside and how others see us.  Keeping this in mind and understanding the difference between the Ascendant and the Sun personalities.  Anyone with strong Cancer tendencies feels their way through life.  They may not rationalize everything as Virgo might or philosophize about life as a Sagittarius might.  They are attached to the emotions and use their sensitivity to process life’s events.

Many with strong emphasis in the Sign of Cancer have a real difficult time separating their feelings from their thoughts.  They feel what they think and this unique insight can often lead to the opening of channels to intuition and psychic perception, as these gifts are not part of the intellect.  With these strong emotional ties to their personality, they are usually known for their gentleness and tranquil nature.  Do not be fooled by their standoffish manner.  Their response might surprise you especially when ridiculed or when they feel attacked emotionally.  There is a lot that goes on beneath the surface.  These individuals are deep and reflective and often prone to emotional confrontations within themselves.

Cancer individuals are the mothering and nurturing sign of the zodiac and are very protective of those they love.  As a mother protects their offspring so too will an individual with strong Cancer tendencies.  Again, do not be fooled by their gentle natures for if you threaten their loved ones, Cancerians will unleash a protective barrier that you will not be able to penetrate.  They are overly protective instinctively and can feel the moods of those around them.  They will move into their protective shell when they themselves are threatened, but will lash out if there is emotional danger or physical danger to those they love.

As children, they are usually very helpful, wishing to please and sensitive to their environment.  Much harm can be caused to their development if there is strife within the family unit or in the home environment when they are children.  They need loving tenderness and should be allowed to explore their great sensitivity at an early age and not be shut down for their emotional makeup.  This teaches them to understand their own emotional temperament and will assist them as they mature into themselves over time. 

If there are any psychic tendencies at a young age, these tendencies should be reinforced.  Cancer children should be allowed to explore this side of their nature rather than being forced to shut them down and told that what they feel is not real.  

Cancer individuals are very attached to the home environment and will go out of their way to make it a pleasing retreat, where they can extend their nurturing charisma and provide warmth and comfort for those that matter to them.  They also need this place to recharge their emotional batteries and ready self for another day of emotional experiences.  Their home is where they feel safe and comfortable.  Cancerians enjoys entertaining and love to prepare a special meal.  The home environment is extremely important and any strife will not go unnoticed.

The sensitivity that is so inherent within this group of unique individuals can become their greatest asset as time passes if encouraged or become their weakest element if self-expression is hindered. 

Anyone with strong Cancer tendencies should open the door to their sensitivity and allow their Cancer tendencies.  Cancer individuals need to find their personal expression for this very sensitive sign.

SUMMER SOLSTICE AND ITS ENERGIES

In the Northern hemisphere, we will be celebrating the summer solstice on June 20.  With this powerful solar energy, we can recharge our spirits, our minds and our bodies.

We are all interconnected in our energies.  Some of us are quite aware of these influential external energies and others, not so much.  With or without this awareness, all living things are influenced and affected by the position of the planets at their birth, by the continual movement of the planets, by the influence of the rotation of our earth including the changing seasons and any other shift that occurs in nature. 

When guided by spirit/our higher selves, our focus is to walk and live our truth, through the easy times but especially during the times that we are being tested.  Take advantage of the solar energies of the Summer Solstice to push forward with this focus.  Use the more aggressive energies of the Sun to catapult forward and allow yourself to bloom into your own true beauty.  As with the Sun at its current fully extended potential, you too can allow all of your inner power and beauty to radiate outward which serves to express self but also benefits each and every other living thing that your energy touches.

What a glorious time of year.  Allow yourself to mirror the seasons.  We have just come through a very renewing season.  We have worked hard to create buds of promise.  Now is the time to allow those buds to open and to eventually bear the fruit of our efforts but also to allow all other living things to see and experience this beauty and to eventually share the fruit.

FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS, JUNE 2016

FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS

What an active day Monday, June 20, 2016 will be. We will be experiencing the Sun going into Cancer, the Summer Solstice and the second Full Moon in Sagittarius in a row.  Today we will look at the Full Moon.  It will be 29 degree 33 minutes Sagittarius.  If you have links to 29 degrees in your birth chart (Conjunction, Square, Trine and Opposition), the energies of this Full Moon will certainly be felt.  Remember to allow a 6 to 7 degree orb.  If any planet falls at 26 degrees up to and including 3 degrees into the next sign, it will be aspecting the Full Moon. 

The conjunction is the most powerful of these aspects especially if it is connected to your ascendant or midheaven.  A Full Moon is often thought to bring a conclusion to events which may have been started at the New Moon cycle, but you can also begin something that you have been making plans for under the energies of the Full Moon.

With the Full Moon again in the fire sign of Sagittarius, this is a prime time to begin something and set things in motion, as fire signs are enthusiastic and energy is associated with this element.  Sagittarius is a high minded sign which is reflected strongly by its connection to Jupiter, the planet of expansive energy and optimistic realizations.  Sagittarius’ energy loves adventure and starting something new particularly in areas that involve spirituality and mystical influences, as well as travel.

Jupiter is known as the most opportunistic planet and brings with it good luck, good fortune and an overall feeling of exuberance.  Jupiter is expansive and builds on anything that you put in front of it, making it larger than life and full of expectations.  If you have plans that you have been working on or plans that you wish to bring to fruition, this will be a good time to push forward.  Your chances of success are heightened and a general feeling of optimism is often present.

If your plans are related to business, now might be the time to figure out what you need to do to move ahead.  If it is a marriage proposal in the works, the timing might be just right and you could make future plans that could prove to be perfect in many ways.  As mentioned, Jupiter promotes growth and good fortune and offers opportunities.  Mars goes direct on June 28 and during the retrograde cycle it is believed that you should keep actions to a minimum   You may even have felt as though things were stagnating for the time when Mars was retrograde.  If you have been procrastinating during the retrograde cycle, this would be the time under the Full Moon energies to get things moving again especially if you have prepared ahead.  Your energies should be heightened as Mars goes direct and this second Sagittarius Full Moon only serves to give you an extra boost.

This can be a time of decisive action and the motivational force will be Jupiter which promises good luck especially if well aspected by other factors.  If you planted the seeds under the influence of the New Moon phase, this will be the time of harvest of what you started then.  You can now pick the fruits of your labour.  You may push ahead or if the necessary preparation did not go into your plans, if need be, reset and count your loses and start again.  The energy you put into things now has great opportunities to expand and work out well over the long haul.

TESTING GROUND

Staying focused and on course with our higher objectives no matter what the circumstances is the true test of our path.  These tests only serve to verify our true potential, strength and resolve.

Life IS a testing ground.  It is important to adjust our mental attitude during life lessons and continually adapt in ways to help facilitate this necessary growth.  We can not only navigate through any ground breaking experiences but we can also grow immensely from the experience.  Once the lesson is complete, our life experience is enriched from the lesson learned.

We are strong.......beyond our comprehension.  We are capable of not only managing but flourishing as a result of any life event.  We have more than enough strength to not only grow from these lessons but to also motivate others to help themselves when they too are experiencing a more challenging period in their lives.  There are many who are not aware of their own inner strength.  Through our own experiences we can assist those that would appreciate help to understanding the experiences being presented to them.

Many of us are just awakening to our own potential.  Once we learn that our abilities are ingrained, we learn to call upon our gifts any time we need to use them.  These are always at our disposal and the only thing that holds us back is our own recognition of and faith in our abilities.  We are our own greatest obstacle.  Release your self doubt and you remove these obstacles.

Life is a continual lesson.  Life is a testing ground of our faith.  Many lessons are best taught from a physical level of understanding.  Remember that you are spirit having an earthly experience not the other way around.

TRANSITING URANUS CONJUNCT NATAL MARS

Transiting Uranus goes retrograde towards the end of July and stays retrograde until the end of December of this year (2016). 

Those with Mars within a five degree aspect of Uranus (approximately 20-29 degrees of Aries) would have a conjunction affecting their lives at present.  The blending of the energies of Mars and Uranus is not always a pleasant combination.  It can affect your actions as Mars in Aries is quite assertive and wants to push ahead in life vigorously.  Mars does tend to rush too much and when tied to Uranus the impulse is to propel forward without thinking.  Often when these two meet, you will act on a whim which can at times lead to unfavourable results.  Taking time to think things through is advisable, as abrupt, impulsive actions often create mistakes especially during the direct motion of the planets.

If you have been thinking about taking action on something of importance and you have also taken the appropriate time to review what action you should take and prepared, you may want to move forward with some disciplined action inside the coming six weeks or so, before Uranus goes retrograde.  This could include beginning a business but be sure to take all steps necessary to ensure that you have not missed any important steps before you start to act upon your chosen direction in the coming weeks.  Check to see which houses are being activated now in your chart especially the houses where Uranus and Mars are located and the house with Aries either in it or on its cusp.  These will be areas of life being affected by this conjunction.

As mentioned, you may be a little too impulsive, and there is always the potential for accidents, including car accidents and accidents with sharp tools, when we rush.  Please be careful and do not rush.  Mars and Uranus are similar in their actions and being careful is highly advised.  Impulsive, rash behaviour can lead to accidents and also suggests arguementive behaviours leading to fallouts in relationships. 

Your temper can easily become aroused and you will have to watch for this.  Watch for putting your own concerns before those of others and make sure you always consider what affect you might have on others if you were to take specific actions.

This is a powerful connection and can lead to unique discoveries, potentially in fields connected to science, computers and even astrological connections.  Uranus wants to break free of any restrictive behaviour and the desire to move in new directions may be quite strong. 

If, for example, the conjunction is in the seventh house, it is quite possible that a relationship is involved.  This could be wildly romantic and sexually impulsive, but often when Uranus is involved it is temporary in nature, but not always.  There are strong sexual overtones attached to this combination especially if linked to the fifth or eighth houses in your chart.

The best advice is to move ahead with some caution.  It would be perfect if Saturn were involved in the equation. 

If the Sun is also involved this could be the time of reaching your objectives and once again if you have done your homework, things could work out favourably for you. 

If the MC is involved this would make the link complete when it comes to moving forward in your career or schooling and reaching your goals in life or at the very least making the correct preparations for your future. 

If the Moon is involved you can undoubtedly expect some change of direction, perhaps even a move and women may play an important part in these events, especially the mother.

You can do great things with this conjunction and if you are not ready to move forward before the end of July then this will be a preparation stage.  You will have time to carefully plan your next move during the retrograde cycle and then move ahead towards the end of this year and into the New Year.  Patience is a virtue.  You may feel the urge to make the moves before Uranus goes retrograde.  If you must act before Uranus goes direct, be sure that all the t’s are crossed and the i’s are dotted before you do so.

CHALLENGING CONDITIONS FOSTERING GROWTH

Does it appear that you are at a standstill?  Usually those times we experience that feeling that we have stagnated are actually opportunities to review.  Once the review is complete, a new growth spurt is experienced.  Are you aware of the specific energies that are taking a leading role in your evolving story?  If you can feel their influence, you would realize that you have actually not stagnated.

It is at these times and during times that you face hurdles that you are learning to remain steadfast in your approach as well as to put into practice all that you have learned to this point.  You may feel as though you are at the mercy of life but you are somehow gaining inner resolve, even though you do not quite understand what is taking place.

This struggle or stagnation will pass with lessons well learned (perseverance, patience, etc.) and you will again regain your momentum to continue on your voyage to understanding.  The fog clears and you regain your stability once again.  Although these conditions felt challenging, you have learn to have faith in the process.  You recall what has brought you to where you are now and recognize all the impacting events you have experienced before this time.  These experiences have their value for you do not stand here, in this place and at this moment, as a result of a brief moment of indecision.

There is no doubt that these times can be challenging.  Stifling of ego will help to alleviate the negative feelings associated with these conditions.  You do not feel lost or restrained.  It is your ego that is trying to make you believe that this is how you feel.  By identifying with its influence, you falter and as a result, you sometimes can forget your path, at least temporarily.  You will regain your momentum once you understand that ego is influencing you and affecting your attitude.

Do not get caught up in this pretentious attitude.  You are far beyond that.  The ego is simply grasping for control.  Hold on to your truth and ride the wave.  It won’t last much longer.  Remind yourself that this is a period in life that is offered up to reflect.  It is a time to reflect on where you have come from, what you have learned and to ready yourself for what is ahead.  You are to simply listen to the inner or higher voice that suggests that this is a requirement and that reflection is the key.  Enjoy the experience!
