TRANSITING NEPTUNE ASPECTING NATAL VENUS, PART III

We are continuing our look at Neptune aspecting Venus from our previous posts on July 25 and 27, 2016.

When transiting Neptune makes an aspect to Venus make sure your blinders are off.  Keep them out of reach as you will be tempted to put them on.  You can fall in love with love and dream about the perfect union with such great intensity that what you see may just be a creation of your imagination.  You could be under the spell of love and fall for an individual that appears to be the perfect individual on a spiritual level.  You may even idealize that person and feel very connected almost on some profound out-of-this-world level.  Neptune tends to colour what is right there in front of us and can create an unrealistic approach to love.

When the aspect is a powerful one such as a conjunction, square or opposition, we may have a challenging time with our lover.  We may wonder if this is love or not and may not see things clearly.  It is best to wait until the transit as well as the progressed aspects are finished before we make any rash decisions.  That perfect partner may not be who we think they are and on the flip side, the partner we are planning on leaving may be the perfect one for us.  We need to put on our reality glasses before we do anything.

If Neptune goes retrograde over this period, there may have several times during the next year or so when these energies influence our lives.  This can be a very tedious time and we will have to be patient to let the time pass so we can think under more clear conditions. 

Enjoy the dreamy side of the connection and learn to decipher the difference between reality and fiction.  Most of us can probably rely more on our intuition and spiritual insight and even our dreams, more so than trying to rationalize the situation at hand during this aspect. 

The mystical side of life often reveals doorways that we had not experienced up until this time.  Many find this a time of awakening in one way or another and if inclined towards the mystical side of things, this is the perfect time to let our imaginations run wild, but within reason.  The potential to find the true meaning of love is quite possible during this transit or conjunction, but wait until the fog clears before you take the plunge into uncharted territory.

WHEN STRUGGLES ARE ABUNDANT

Do your struggles never seem to cease? 

If it feels as though your back is against the wall and you are not sure which way to turn, remember the darkest moment is always just before the dawn.  Life’s circumstances always rebound and although the course we take is not always the course we had hoped for, our true journey will transform us and teach us the lessons that we will need in our future. 

You may ask “how long do I have to wait?” when you feel as though you are at the end of my ropes. 

Truly believe that there is nothing in this life that you are not strong enough to or capable of overcoming unless, of course, you give up and you allow your attitude to sink below the positive points of your current learning experience.  If you actually want to succeed, giving up in reality is not an option.  If you can recognize the constant nagging voice that keeps you in your darkest moments, and know it for what it truly is, ego, than you can stop identifying with it and its message and in turn, recognize it for what it is.

Nothing can hurt us more in life than the relentless ego and people get so lost in its deceitful message, they believe it to be true and to be a part of the self.  When we allow ourselves to bask in the sorrows of ego’s message, we completely identify with its message and making it our own.  It is then that we become blind and numb to the truth.  We become overwhelmed because we forget how to turn it off and are bombarded with ego’s constant defiling message that drowns hope. 

Recognize negativity.  Put ego in its proper place.  Channel your thoughts in a different direction.  No matter how hard, force yourself to see the positive in each and every event you experience.  In the beginning, it will be hard to find that one small positive spark but if you look deep enough, even in the most bleak moment, there is a shred of light. 

There will be moments for all of us that we are faced with life changing decisions.  All change can be difficult if we do not let go of the passed to move into our future.  Our positive decisions can open doors of opportunities unlike we have ever know.   It is frightening to release our grip on the past even if the things and people of our past no longer serves us but we do have the strength to let go so that we can reach forward to grasp our future. 

Have faith in the process and have faith in yourself.  Know that we are expanding and growing even during the most uncomfortable circumstances.  Our attitude forms a large portion of our reality.  If we focus on those things that we do not enjoy or like, our life will feel as though it is heavy and stagnant.  If we focus on the blessings and joys in our life, life will feel expansive and joyful.  When we change our attitude, we change our circumstances.  These changes may require action on our part.  If we are positive, we will have faith in ourselves and in the events in our life. 

Change is inevitable.  If we fight it, we create discord.  We will survive and be stronger and more resilient after each life lesson.  Stay true to yourself, not your ego.

TRANSITING NEPTUNE IN ASPECT TO NATAL VENUS, PART II

We began our look at transiting Neptune aspecting Natal Venus on July 25, 2016. 

If Neptune in square to Venus in the natal chart, this is often suggestive of an individual that displays the more susceptible side of this combination and they will be the one that is infatuated with romance and they could place their loved one on a pedestal.  They see love through rose coloured glasses and either over idealize their partner or are overly suspicious of them.  In some way, their view on love and romance is tainted. 

Individuals with the opposition are often susceptible to being used and they could over-identifying with the love that surrounds them. 

Those individuals who have a trine and sextile will find that the people they are attracted to and those that are attracted to them will be reliable in their response.  They will have a much easier time when it comes to love.  They can be more realistic in their approach and may attract the perfect partner and discover a deep and true spiritual connection. 

As with the trine and sextile between Neptune and Venue, this is also the case with the more challenging aspects but they may go through several relationships before the person of their dreams becomes a reality. 

Many with this combination are drawn to people with challenging life conditions.  They may take on the role of the saviour for others or look for others to take on that role in their lives.

The house position of Neptune as well as Venus will define how this will connect in a birth chart.  The area of life, whether it be through communication with loved ones especially siblings (3^rd) or through family concerns and route causes (4^th) or in personal relationships romantic or otherwise (1^st and 5^th), and how Neptune and Venus will express themselves will be reflected by the house position.  Neptune along with Cancer is often considered the nurturer of the zodiac, and with Venus in Pisces or connections between these two planetary energies a love for others is very evident.  They love to look after and take care of others as much as they like others to do this for them.

Neptune aspecting Venus can also be found in the charts of creative individuals.  Actors, musicians and artists will often have this connection strong in their charts.  It is also found with dancers, interior design, and in general people that have a way of creating beautiful things.  They can be lovers of the fine things in life.  Their inspiration becomes enhanced when surrounded by water.  A cottage by the lake would be ideal and they could use their vivid imagination to create things of beauty.

HINTS ON CONNECTING WITH YOUR GUIDES, PART II

We are continuing our post on meditation from July 21, 2016.

We cannot stress how important it is to stay open to the possibility that you can get to experience great meditations.   All too often people listen to their ego and they come to believe that they could not possibly have a meaningful contact with their guides and higher self.  Ego may suggest that you are not evolved enough or not spiritual enough or simply not able.  Understand that any thoughts that say it can’t be done are ego generated.  Everyone has the ability; it is a natural born ability for us all. 

When attempting to contact a higher source, create the feeling that you are waiting for someone to knock on the door or for someone to walk in.  You know they are coming and you are waiting on them to enter or make themselves known to you.  This anticipation opens the door and allows the energies to enter your awareness.

Many of your guides will operate on different frequencies.  Some may have a difficult time communicating, while others are quite adept at communication.  Once you open the door, they enter freely and easier.  Know that you are in search of someone who is God centred and highly evolved.  Make this known.  Ask for the pure of heart and for guidance that will further your pure evolution.  Above all else, do not let fear (ego generated) to enter into the experience.  This will halt everything.  Do not align yourself with ego and its fear base focus.  It is not you and you should not identify with it.

It may take time but eventually you will begin to recognize when you guides are in your presence.  It can be a feeling, it may be a message.  Their energies can often be felt once you recognize them.  Many people ignore the signs and messages pass them by without any or little notice. 

These experiences are called super-natural.  Think of these words and you will understand that it is a normal, natural process that many have dismissed.  As children, we were told that we should stop our imagination, our exploration, our innocence, our openness.  Now as adults, the time is here once again to re-open these doors to natural perception.

You can connect with your angels, your guides, your higher self and your family members that have passed on simply by realizing and accepting that they are with you.  Persevere and be steadfast in your approach regardless of how long it takes, or how much you feel stands in the way. 

You will find what you are looking for.  Be open to the subtle energies for they are gentle, compassionate and loving.  These guides stand by you and are always ready to assist you any time you ask.

TRANSITING NEPTUNE CONJUNCT VENUS PART I

Neptune is currently in the sign of Pisces.  If transiting Neptune and Natal Venus were conjunct in a chart, natal Venus would also be in Pisces.  The energies of this conjunction would influence the client to seek out the perfect spiritual union.  There would be a tendency to put their lover on a pedestal and idealize them.  There is a great need for an understanding of each other that goes far beyond the commonplace concepts and everyday understanding in a standard relationship.  With this aspect, there has to be a connection that knows no boundaries, where love can reach heights unattainable through normal expectations.  There needs to be a psychic connection where both partners and there will be an instinctive understanding of what the other is thinking and feeling. 

There is the possibility for great love with this connection but also an expectations that may be too high of the partner.  It would be wise to view the relationship with these realizations as this individual with Neptune conjunct Venus could become obsessive with what they visualize of and expect from their partner.  Obviously in reality, the partner would fall short of the expectations and when this is realized and a true understanding is obtained of who this partner is, it can be a bit of a disappointment.  If those with this aspect keeps things in perspective and understands that we are all human with our human flaws, they may not be as troubled when they come down to earth and realize who their partner truly is.

Neptune and Venus conjunct indicate an individual who knows love.  There are no boundaries and infatuation is often a by-product with love affairs.  These individuals love with all their heart and they also feel love and devotion on a very spiritual level of understanding.  There is often something magical in the relationship, something unusual almost spiritual in the union.  This is why they will have to be open minded and honest with themselves when the person that stands before them reveals their true identity.

Venus in Pisces individuals are very emotionally attached to people.  They truly love others and feel great compassion.  They are willing to listen to their loved ones with intensity and often feel what they are experiencing on a very deep, almost profound level.  They may get confused with the intensity of their compassion and love.  They can mistake the feelings and experience of others as their own.  They take on other people’s problems or they can spread themselves too thin because of what is taking place with other people.

They are social and gentle people.  They can almost be lost because of their lack of objectivity and their sensitive nature is beyond comparison.  They may also be attracted to beautiful surroundings - a gentle water’s edge or a beautiful landscape and these can infiltrate their inner state profoundly.  They are considered very likable, extremely kind and often psychic. 

Venus in Pisces individuals feel life rather than mentally intellectualize life’s experiences.

SUN IN LEO

On July 23 of this year, the Sun will move into the sign of Leo which is a fixed fire sign. 

Those with strong Leo tendencies (this will include not only having the Sun in Leo, but also having the rising sign in Leo or several planets in the fifth house) are natural leaders.  They are not followers or people who need direction.  As a matter of fact, this is where they shine, as they need to be in charge.  They are very ambitious and can dominate any conversation and often stand out in the crowd.  They want to be noticed and will go out of their way to make sure that you know they are there.

They are confident people and demand attention and although they are very friendly, open-hearted and giving, they still like appreciation for all of their hard efforts.  They will go out of their way to make others comfortable and stop at nothing to help those in need.  But if they are not appreciated for their actions, you will fall out of favour.  If you let a Leo individual down, they can easily become disenchanted and hurt.  This is all due their big hearts and sensitivity.

They are strong willed and self-regulating and will not depend on others to get the job done.  They can delegate but know they can rely on themselves so they would not have a problem doing what must be done themselves.  They want to be successful, look successful and can lead others and help others make their dreams come true.  They can fulfill their own dreams and these dreams are often big.

As a lover they are romantic, sensual and dedicated once they find someone to give their heart to.  Many will have countless romantic affairs in search of that perfect partner.  As mentioned, appreciation means a great deal to them.  If this need is not fulfilled and they do not feel valued or respected, they can let go of a relationship even if it has been long lasting.  Once they break off a relationship, there is usually no looking back.  Any power struggle can quickly end a relationship, as they need to have some control of the situation.  Compliment the Leo individual and you will have their attention; criticize them and trouble will surely follow.

There are many professions that are suitable to the typical Leo characteristics, although a leadership role is important.  You will find many good politicians under the Leo rule as well as teachers and lawyers.  Many have a flair for handling finances and you can find bankers under this admiral sign.

A Leo individual who is not centred or is without a clear direction can become overly self-centred and temperamental.  They may seek attention and will be very stubborn in their approach; they are right and that is that.  Some seem to boast about their accomplishments and few are humble.  Their arrogance at times can be quite distasteful.  However, this is the lower expression of the sign of Leo.  In general Leo individuals are kind hearted, loving individuals, who would do anything for others.  They will hold on to any meaningful relationships and this includes anyone who needs them and relates to them. 

Find yourself a well-rounded Leo and make a friend for life, a warm and faithful one at that.

HINTS ON CONNECTING WITH YOUR GUIDES, PART I

Relatives that have passed over and your guides are never very far away.  They are with you frequently and are at your side especially in times of need. 

Your guides do change over time as they are there to help you during specific times in your life and when their particular energies and expertise fit your areas of required growth at the time.  Many guides will come and go but there can be specific guides that are with you during your life time.

For those wanting to enjoy a clear connection with their guides, meditation is a wonderful tool.  To help get started, there are meditation techniques available from many sources and you will undoubtedly find at least one or more that will work well for you.  Your particular vibration fits certain procedures and you will have to find one or several that suit you.  Keep trying until you find what resonates with you and allows the energies to come through.  Do not expect some over-the-top experience.  The connection is very subtle at least in the early stages.  It is like a muscle, it takes practice and experience to get consistently good at clearing your mind.

Alternatively, you can meditate without any assistance from outside sources as the sounds of nature or simple silence may be your most helpful aid to silence your mind.

There will be times when you are connecting and you may not even be aware of it.  This often deters some of us from continuing our practice as we feel as though we are getting nowhere or that our progress is stifled. 

Watch for ego intervention, as ego will tell you that you are never ready for this connection.  Understand that you are always ready and you would not even be attempting to connect unless you were ready.

Some meditation experiences are simple silence and peace.  Do not underestimate this experience.  It is a wonderful one.  Reduce the chatter and rejuvenate the soul, mind and body.  This mediation brings us the strength and courage during trying times.  To still the mind also helps us to de-stress.

Some meditations allow the subtle voice within to provide us with valuable information.  This quite voice does not operate the same way that the mind does.  Sometimes the mind will repeat the words offered by our guides or higher self because the way you tap into these subtle connections do not come through on normal channels.  Some people’s experiences suggest that the words received from spirit/guides/higher self are not actually in the form of normal spoken words as the message is received instantaneously.  It does not take the normal time for the information to be processes such as when we are listening to verbal information.  It is as though everything is being said in an instant and comprehension is complete and clear also in the instant that the information is provided to us from our guides.  It is as though a whole sentence or even a paragraph is said instantaneously, all at once and this is foreign to the physical mind so our minds repeats the words.

Experiment with different ways of meditation over the next five days and we will continue this post on meditation on July 26, 2016.

TRANSITING URANUS TRINE NATAL URANUS (AGE 28 & 56)

Transiting Uranus has an 84 year cycle.  In other words it takes Uranus approximately 84 years to circle the zodiac and move back to the original position where it was located at the time of your birth.  As a result, it is most likely that Uranus will trines its natal position twice in a life time.  Its first contact by trine is around the age 28 closely aligning with your first Saturn return, and the second will be at age 56, which is a couple of years prior to your second Saturn return.  Both of these positions will vary in energy from individual to individual primarily because of the location of transiting Uranus as well as the position of Natal Uranus by house position in each of our charts.

The first trine of Uranus to Uranus is significant because of the massive changes that will occur as a result of this trine and as a result of the Saturn return.  The Trine to Uranus initiates a desire for change and the want to break free and begin anew or start over, utilizing the information obtained through life experiences up to the point of the trine.  Uranus wants to shake things up and a trine usually suggests affirmative changes.  There will be a desire to break free from the influence of your parents and sometimes your peer group because this time is often referred to as the transition from young adulthood into maturity and with maturity comes responsibility.

You will want to be able to do the things that you want and be able to express yourself more precisely during this time than during any time prior to this period.  With the Saturn return quickly at the heels of this trine to Uranus, responsibilities are sure to come your way and rather quickly.  As a result, this is a time of gaining inner strength and resilience so you are ready for whatever your Saturn’s return will bring.  This includes finding a suitable mate if you do not already have an appropriate one, finding an occupation that suits your ever changing needs, (which I promise will settle after the Saturn return) and to break free of any restrictive life influences that have been holding you back.

The second trine at the age of 56 is quite different as you will be in a totally different state of mind and look at life from a different vantage point.  You are not setting the stage for what is important in life as when you were 28.  The need to settle into your life’s work and raising a family is likely behind you.  Initially, this second trine is a time for reflection and reviewing where you are now especially from the time of your Uranus opposition to its birth position at age 42.  The changes you made at that stage in your life have taken you to where you are now.  You will now evaluate your life experiences and your achievements and in most cases, ready yourself for retirement which is often begins in and around the second Saturn return in about 2-3 years.

You will once again re-evaluate your life’s work and make some decisions on where you would like to go in the next several years.  You may work towards early retirement and set the stage for what comes next.  Some make massive changes now and as long as you take the time to think things over, you will probably be ready once your Saturn return is in full activation or nearing its conclusion.  What is important now differs from what you experienced in the first trine period.  Now it will be your needs that must be met and you will make whatever changes needed that can push you in your intended direction.

During this trine it is suggested that you take the time to set a course that will eventually take you to where you might want to see yourself in approximately seven years when Uranus makes it second square to itself at age 63. 

The second Uranus trine is usually an exciting change of direction, one which is required by the soul personality and will take you where you need to go.  Both of these periods can be disruptive as sometimes change can be stressful and the energies of Uranus can be sudden but under most conditions, the final outcome is positive in its nature. 

Prepare yourself for change, for evolution, for an awakening of self.  This “self” is one that will not be recognizable until this period in your life has been experienced.

LISTEN TO YOUR LOVING INNER VOICE

It can be somewhat challenging when after a lifetime of listening and adhering to your ego that you begin to recognize and hear the quiet soothing voice that radiates love and compassion from within. 

The ego may have held a dominant role in your life for many years but recognizing the inner voice as truth, will slowly release ego’s unyielding grip and its domination which is powered by fear.

The ego will attempt to stand in the way of the truth offered by the inner voice that constantly reminds us of our true self.  We can rely on the inner voice for guidance even though our ego will tell us that this is not true. Our ego will argue that even if this information is true, we are not worthy.  We can expect this inner voice, whispered by our higher self, our guides or source, to prove to us over time of its existence.  It never fails and always promotes strength.

The ego searches for ways to weaken our resolve and tells us often that no such inner personality exists and that we are under its total control. 

When we learn to listen to the inner voice for guidance and assistance it becomes louder and stronger and the ego loses its grip.  It can take time to reach this place of understanding and we will be tempted during the process to let go and give up.  We will be told that what we are searching for does not exist and that no matter how hard we try we are held captive although being held captive is not how this will be expressed.

We can make a choice on what directive to follow and we always have control on what we want to do with this new found information, but we must recognize how the ego operates, and over time, we will learn how to decipher between what is ego and what is truth. 

The time has come to move out of the grips of ego.  We are no longer held without allowing ourselves to be held.  The time is ripe for action.  What we can do with this freedom?  We can manifest a life that resonates with purpose and allows us flight in the process.

FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN

We will be experiencing the energies of the Full Moon in the sign of Capricorn on the 19^th of July. 

The Full Moon suggests that it is time to harvest the seeds that you planted during the new Moon in Capricorn six months ago.  The energies of the Full Moon help to bring your plans into fruition. 

It is time to act, if you are prepared that is, as Capricorn is a sign associated with the organization of plans and using practical means to achieve whatever it is you have set out to do.  It is also a time to have a close look at these ideas.  Are you ready?  Have you prepared accordingly and taken the time to create your foundation to set these things in motion?  If you are prepared and you have set the groundwork in place, now may be the time to reap your rewards or take action.  Much will depend on the amount of time you have taken preparing and how solid the foundation is that you have set.  If you are not ready or have fallen short, now could be the time when you should pick up the pieces and begin anew or change direction.  You may have to count your losses and drop the project all together if this is what needs to be done.

The house location of the Full Moon will define what area of life we are talking about for your specific chart.  If, for example, the Full Moon is in your tenth house, the house that is naturally ruled by Capricorn, now may be the time to act on your career choices, to ask for that promotion or start your own business. 

The Full Moon will be at 27 degrees 40 minutes Capricorn and if you have any planets making a connection to this degree, especially by conjunction, this could be a very significant period in your life.  Have a look at how this degree of the Full Moon is being aspected in your chart by natal planets and other transits and progressions as this will help you understand what obstacles you might be facing or how smooth these plans will materialize.  You can give yourself a ten degree angle of influence.  As a result, any planet between 22 degrees and 2 degrees will be in the orb of impact.

Capricorn’s energies are associated with organization, responsibility, opportunity to move forward after diligent work, ambition, patience which is often part of the process with a Full Moon in Capricorn and persistence.  These are requirements that meet the criteria of this Full Moon.  You will have to be persistent and you cannot allow negativity to enter into the equation.  Understand that Capricorn requires you to work hard for your rewards and nothing comes easily.  You reap what you sow.  Often patience becomes a virtue and a lesson well learned during this cycle.

It is time to move ahead in your objectives and the area of life affected can become very productive for you if you take the necessary time and make the proper plans.

TRANSITING URANUS RETROGRADE AND DIRECT

Uranus’ is a very revolutionary planet as its energies seek freedom of expression and have a strong desire to remove themselves from anything that has gone stale or no longer serves a viable purpose.  Uranus’ energy acts in an unexpected manner and you can never be totally sure how it will react under pressure. 

Under most conditions, the area of life being affect by Uranus is the house it is transiting through especially in the retrograde cycle.  There is often a feeling that something has to change or be shaken up somewhat before its actual expression is activated.  Quite often you get warnings of necessary changes in the area of life under review and then when it turns direct either you make the necessary changes or life makes things happen for you.  If you choose to do nothing then life will often take a leading role and quite often it is not overly pleasant in its expression.  Things can happen on the spur of the moment, suddenly, unexpectedly, without warning.  With Uranus, you can expect the unexpected.

When a planet is in retrograde, the energies related to the planet and the house(s) it is transiting are stifled or held back.  The energy is turned inward and a time for review is at hand.  It is a time to re-think things, to re-do things and in an attempt to repair things, you can prepare for when the energies are released and then move forward in the new direction of your choice.  The best time to move forward in your objectives is when the planet goes direct.

Uranus suggests that this is a time for inner reflection not only about your life but on a more personal level – the level of “who you are”.  It often provides you with more freedom of expression and you just want to be you, or the new you.  This is particularly so if Uranus is retrograde in your birth chart.  (Any planet that is retrograde in the birth chart becomes more powerful when it turns retrograde through transit.)

Uranus is known as the awakener and this is what it will try to achieve in the area of life dictated by the house it is transiting in your chart.  You should also have a look at the natal placement of Uranus by house and also by aspect as this will give you clues into how things might unfold.  As with all of the outer planets, Uranus will make suggestions along the way but it will often create a reaction with little or no direction from you. 

Life happens and things change.  Uranus will be the culprit behind these actions, but remember regardless of how drastic and challenging the conditions may be, Uranus always provides you with exactly what you need.  The end result is beneficial.

When Uranus goes direct this will often be the time when these areas of life that are involved will be motivated to move towards the new, to make necessary changes but can be in disruptive ways but just for the moment.  Do not spend any time worrying about how things might manifest, as Uranus acts on impulse and without warning and often releases in ways that you cannot be prepared for. 

Some people fear changes.  Those who are more evolved, or open to the new, know that when the timing is ripe and change is necessary, it should be welcomed with open arms.  Uranus will take you where you need to go, so be open and listen.  You will know which avenue to take, if life does not dictate, that is.

ENJOY THE RIDE

Go back in time even just a few years.  How much has life changed over this short period?  We bet you have made some remarkable changes and experienced growth.

Not only have you made changes internally but you will also recognize that the world around you has also been remodeled and is now more suited to the newly emerging you.  It is obvious that the outer appearance in the world is a reflection of what has and is taking place on the inside.  You are most certainly on the move and new horizons are in your view.

This is a great opportunity to contemplate and/or meditate on where you have come from and where you find yourself now.  Extend this contemplation onto how you currently view yourself.  Objectively, review and recognize what has taken place.  Now ask yourself where you want to be say two years down the road from now. 

You can now put those thoughts and ideas on the backburner as all will unfold as it should precisely at the right time in precisely the most appropriate manner as is possible.

You are beginning to become secure in your attitude towards and intentions for life.  You are ever creating, sometimes in a conscious means and sometimes from an unconscious means, but you are always creating. 

Enjoy the ride.  Be open to change. Accept life as it is, for you know full well that you are setting the course through your intentions for your as a person and for your future.  There are no mistakes, only twists and turns in the road.  You are on your way, taking one step at a time.  Be patient.  The process is perfect exactly the way it unfolds.

SATURN IN RETROGRADE AND DIRECT MOTION

Saturn is the planet of restriction, delays, obstacles and hard work.  It is known as the task maker or the teacher of the Zodiac.  Saturn by birth position usually shows an area of life that we have to work at in order to make things succeed.  If Saturn is poorly aspected in the birth chart this is doubly so, although Saturn also offers rewards for those with diligent work ethics.

Saturn while in its direct motion through transit suggests that there will be time delays, limitations and boundaries to overcome, unlike most planets in their direct cycle.  When Saturn turns retrograde which is about 140 days a year, its energies are quite the contrary.  The retrograde motion of Saturn may be a time when you feel less restricted and held back, although signing agreements or making major decisions is not recommended.  This is a time when you can rethink what action you can take in order to facilitate growth when the timing is better.  This is a planning stage when you can actually take great strides forward when other planets trigger the appropriate timing factors.

Saturn has a 29 year cycle and usually retrogrades about 15 degrees in each sign.  It usually moves into retrograde up to 8-9 degrees during its cycle.  As Saturn is linked with achievement, ambition and delivers what is truly deserved, when the Sun (also linked to ambition) through transit aspects Saturn, its square to Saturn often brings some struggles with regards to your goals and aspirations.  If it trines Saturn, the blended energies of the Sun and Saturn offer some stability in these areas. 

Saturn in its retrograde cycle is somewhat similar to Jupiter, in that it offers opportunities to succeed in your endeavours and planning is a fundamental action while Saturn goes through its retrograde motion.  The normal cautionary application of Saturn is softened during its retrograde cycle.

Saturn’s energies also deals with accountability and the house or houses that it retrogrades through will make you answerable to these specific areas of life being tested.  Saturn tends to test you and if you failed to do what you should have been doing during its direct motion, you may be held accountable for your actions or non-action when Saturn again turns direct.  If, on the other hand, you were working with the energies of Saturn while in direct motion, the areas of life dictated by house position will offer rewards for due diligence and hard work.  Saturn rewards when applicable.

In closing, Saturn direct offers opportunities to move ahead in life although with some caution attached to the process.  Saturn retrograde suggests a time for evaluation and planning and then to move ahead with caution once Saturn moves direct again and when other planets may trigger potential activities.

PEER PRESSURE AND THE UNFOLDING STORY OF YOU

Peer pressure applies to all age group.  Although most of us associated peer pressure with the formative years, many of us allow this pressure to influence us well into our adult years.  Fitting into their group of friends is very important to most people.  Unfortunately, we act as we “think” others expect us to act and as a result, we stray at times far from our “real” self just to feel as though we fit in.  We display a different image to each individual we meet.

There does come a time, however, that we begin to understand our own uniqueness and we slowly disconnect ourselves from the need to be as others think we should be.  In reality most other people do not see us the way we see ourselves.  Ask ten people to define who you are and you will receive ten different descriptions.  So at some point you will have to ask yourself who are you really trying to please. 

In our process of trying to please, we lose ourselves along the way but eventually we begin a search for self.  We realize we are lost within ourselves.  If we are honest, we must admit that the best person we can be is who we truly are.

The difficulty with self acceptance lies in filtering out what it is we like and dislike about who we are.  Self-awareness is a process that can be very painful, but arriving at an honest solution is the first step in making desired changes to who you want to be.  You cannot change anything about yourself until you become aware of who you actually are.

If we take an honest look of the core person, we will discover many, many character traits that are quite admirable. 

To assist in allowing true development, take a moment and write down, with complete honesty, all challenging personality quirks as well as the encouraging character traits.  This will assist in initiating the process.   Acknowledgement is step one.  As you uncover these characteristics decide whether you want them to be part of the new you or something that you no longer want to identify with.

Each time we notice unwanted reactions, we must reminder ourselves that this reaction is not who we are.  It takes time for this awakening to unfold but the process has begun. 

In six months from now, again take notes on what your positive character traits are and what unwanted conditions exist.  Compare the two notes.  You will be amazed at the rapid change that has taken place and how much more comfortable you are with the true you.  Yes; it does takes time, but it is well worth the effort. 

Happiness is a choice.  If you are unhappy with your life, one of the reasons may be that you are not being your true self.  Awaken to the possibilities and to the “you” who is waiting to be released.

TRANSITING URANUS ON THE IC, PART II

We are continuing our look at the energies created from transiting Uranus on the IC (Imum Coeli which is Latin for the bottom of the sky) from July 8.

When Uranus moves into the fourth house, changes can occur that can affect the whole family or just one individual, often a parent.  If this change primarily affects one of the parents, it will usually be the most submissive parent.  The fourth and tenth house axis is known as a parental axis.

This will primarily be a learning period although change in some fashion or another is often a by-product.  As the fourth is connected to your roots, quite often issues surface that need alignment during this time and we are forced to deal with them head on.  There is no chance of letting them pass by and Uranus not only suggests that they need dealing with, but lets us know in no uncertain terms that we need to deal with them now.  This could be related to a parent’s influence, early upbringing, early schooling and feelings of self-worth due to these circumstances.

Changes to the occupation are quite common, moves into new surroundings and sometimes a change of relationship also is part of the equation.  As trying as some of these changes may be, they are necessary as life needs to shift directions in order to facilitate growth.  Uranus is all about change and disruption and although its actions can be sudden and can sneak up without notice, exciting or fearful, they are required changes.

Uranus is also very impulsive and when it acts, its action is instantaneous and unexpected, so be prepared, but do not look ahead in the future in fear of what might happen as not only is it a requirement but you will be quite happy that it took place once complete.

Have a look at how Uranus is aspected in the birth chart and if it is poorly aspected things may be a little challenging.  If it is well aspected you will probably be prompted to move ahead without any drastic influence coming from outside forces.  You always have little hints before the energies push you ahead in your intended direction. 

Check to see if there are other planets linked to the IC as they will also provide you with information as to how these energies might unfold.  These planetary energies will mold and mix together as one.  Check to see where Uranus is in your natal chart as this will also give you further information.  It should be understood, however, that Uranus acts impulsively and it will be very difficult to ascertain exactly how it will unfold.  Uranus has been mystifying Astrologers forever!

TRANSITING URANUS ON THE IC, PART I

The transit of Uranus on the IC (Imum Coeli, latin for bottom of the sky), can have erratic effects in your life especially if it is stationary or goes retrograde over this specific degree in your Chart. 

Uranus, the awakener, will often work in ways that are totally unexpected creating upheaval and change in your life.  Uranus is unconventional in its behaviour.  It is known as the bohemian of the Zodiac, and you can safely say that with Uranus anything is possible.  Expect the unexpected is a common phrase used by Astrologers when describing the effects of a powerful Uranus transit.  Uranus suggests, at least at first, that you review your life and make changes to old and outdated ways of living.  These changes are a requirement of the soul from a deep level and if you do not make the necessary adjustments, life will make the changes in a more dramatic manner for you.  You can either make the moves when appropriate or ride the wave that life will create to make the change.  Uranus will turn your life around, but in the end it will be a positive and in ways that are necessary.

Uranus along with the Progressed Moon and often Mars and sometimes the Sun can be used as timers when deciphering what might happen in your life.  Uranus in particular is used as a timer and quite often events unfold on the day it is directly making an aspect to a position in the natal chart or progressed chart, or when it makes an aspect to another planet in either of these charts, particularly when in conjunction.  During the conjunction, there will be a blending of these energies and quite often something takes place particularly if this planet is also conjunct one of the angles (MC, ASC, IC, DC).

With Uranus transiting into the fourth house (and it is particularly strong as it crosses the IC), often the family, the home and issues left unresolved from the pass are highlighted.  Remember that Uranus in its transit also has an effect on the opposite end of the spectrum (the MC) and often the working environment and your goals in life are part of the equation. 

As an example, a specific Chart that was prepared for an client during this transit was unexpectedly packaged off from a long career spanning over 30 years on the exact day that Uranus passed over the IC.  Not only was the working environment changed forever, (Uranus impact is usually permanent) but the home base also had to adapt to these changes and the home environment changed significantly for this individual.  Although this individual often felt pushed to leave the job, fear of the unexpected held them back, so life took over and completed the soul’s requirement for change.  After some adjustment, life did changed forever for this individual and the new life was exactly what was required in their ongoing growth.  The working environment was actually stagnating this growth and because nothing was done to make changes by this client, the energies of Uranus took hold and altered the situation.  This is an perfect expression of how Uranus and its unpredictability can disrupt life and change the course of things on a very permanent basis.
