THE WEALTH WE SEARCH FOR

Those that believe in reincarnation trust that they have spent many lifetimes gathering information to enhance their development and growth. 

No matter if we accept the concept of reincarnation or not, we are not here to be a mere spectator and stand by while life presents us with opportunities to assist in this material experience.  We are here to be a participant in our awakening, even a light to guide others in finding their own personal insight and meaning to their lives.

Many people become trapped within the idea that material wealth will satisfy their deep inner yearning for understanding.  Maybe for a few brief moments we may find some contentment or even excitement but this is short lived if what we are actually seeking is inner fulfillment. 

Do not get me wrong.  There is nothing wrong with material wealth and it can certainly make the physical life a little easier but it will not make you feel complete or provide happiness, for these things cannot be bought.  We can become lost in the search, unfortunately. 

If only we would stop looking outward for our fulfillment and answers.  Our investment in these things never seems to provide a true return on our efforts and as a result, we keep striving for more.  We eventually come up feeling empty and ever reaching for that one thing that will make us feel happy only to find that that next “thing” does not satisfy what is missing. 

Look within for answers.  Live in the moment, without expectations. 

It does not hurt to remind ourselves that we are spiritual beings living an earthly existence...nothing more, nothing less.  Be the listener.  Be the watcher, the one within who watches each event and who listens to the story as it unfolds. 

We have never been lost!

We already are the wealth that we are search for.  We have heard others speak of the one within.  That is who we truly are.  We are not separate.  We are one with everything.  We resonate within the divine light of knowing.  We are pure energy momentarily experiencing this physical form. 

We are light!

PROGRESSED SUN CONJUNCT NATAL SATURN

The progressed Sun moves approximately one degree per year.  In most cases in order to experience this conjunction between the progressed Sun and your natal Saturn, you would have to have your natal Saturn no more than three signs from your natal Sun, unless you would live beyond 90 years of age.  This too is assuming that your natal Sun is less than one degree of a particular sign.  Your natal Saturn would also have to be located in a sign after your natal Sun, because the progressed Sun never goes into retrograde. 

For example, if your Sun was at 1 degree Aquarius then your Saturn would have to be in either Aquarius, Pisces or Aries to experience the Conjunction between the Progressed Sun and Natal Saturn.   If you lived beyond 90 years of age, your Saturn could be in Taurus in this example.  You would have to take into consideration short and long ascension signs.

The progressed Sun deals with reaching our objectives, following our goals and, if used properly, these intentions materialize in feasible ways.  Beyond following our life’s path, the progressed Sun also has to do with inner connectedness and reaching out to find our true self and our inner path.  Sometimes these objectives can be achieved through material rewards.  Sometimes they deal with spiritual enlightenment and the awakening process.  Much, of course, depends on the sign and the house the progressed Sun is in as well as the aspects in play.

Saturn on the other hand always has to do with hard work, learning life lessons, resilience and sometimes a cautious approach.  Saturn speaks of delays and sometimes shortcomings as well as restrictions and, above all else, speaks of teachings and lessons learned.

The progressed Sun (and progressions in general) often deals with inner evolution, although the progressed Sun often promotes energies that are quite relevant and noticeable in the external world.  When lined up with Saturn, and remember the age of an individual would most certainly play a significant factor, the energies for advancement are often harnessed or we can be forced to move slowly and carefully along the path that we are striving to travel.  Saturn will insist that no shortcuts be taken, and planning and preparation are often part of the process.  With Saturn, hard work is nearly always a prerequisite for achievement.

Achievement can be acknowledged/achieved in many expressions and although the road to these objectives will take time and work, the rewards are often quite substantial.  Saturn does offer stability and structure as the work gets done.  In many cases, Saturn also offers longevity and steadfastness.  There will be many lessons learned along the way which can provide invaluable information in the future, but again, it can be a rugged journey to learn the lesson.

NO REAL TIME

Is there a past, present and future?  

What is time? 

In physical terms, we can say we are here today and we may be gone tomorrow, (tomorrow being sometime in the future).  The past, present and future are all concepts.  Time is man-made. 

On a spiritual level, we never die.  We are energy and energy is perpetual.  We move on from this physical realm as we now know it. 

Many of us believe that we are connected with God, whatever our concept of God may be.  If God has always been, what is our starting point?  We are energy.  Energy is perpetual.  Do we then have a beginning? 

Some believe that we are part of God.  We have been told that God is indivisible.  How then can we be part of God?  Is it fair to say then that we are part of the whole and have no beginning?

Again, time is manmade.  From a spiritual stance, there is no beginning and no end, so time is only important in human terms.  We were born during this life time, we learn, we mature, and we die physically, but the death we experience is only in body.  In spirit which is formless, we live on and enter our next stage of evolution in our energy form, whatever that may be.  Some say we return to our origin, but if we have always been, what exactly is our origin?

We are spiritual beings living in a physical experience.  Perhaps to get a clearer picture, we need to go deep within to rediscover who and what our core self really is.  Many of us feel very limited with the time we have for self-rediscovery because our days in this body are limited.  If we are limited in time for this discovery, how long do we have to make this discovery and how elaborate will this discovery be? 

Should our focus be only self-rediscovery or should we live our life and enjoy the moment?

We learn through experience and we can enjoy our lives during every moment we exist. 

Be here now so that we do not miss out on any experience.  Allow and enjoy where life takes us.  Live it, love it, share it. 

Do not take yourself to that level of seriousness that life’s grip is too tight and you are not able to expand.  Allow!  Accept!  There is no time……like the present.

SUN IN CANCER (Part II) OPPOSITION TRANSITING PLUTO

In continuation from our post for those with their Sun in Cancer and the effects of Saturn posted on June 21, 2019, we will now touch on the effects of transiting Pluto in opposition to those with their Sun in Cancer.  Pluto, when this post is being written, is still in its retrograde cycle and will remain in this cycle until October 3, 2019.  It hovers between 20 and 23 degrees until the end of 2019.  Those that have their Sun at these degrees in Cancer will be experiencing this opposition.

Saturn and Pluto will be tightly conjunct in January of 2020 at 22 degree so this will be when these energies in combination will be at their strongest.

Those Cancerions with their Sun around 18 degrees and up to 25 degrees will still be affected by this conjunction and to a lesser degree anyone having planets by major aspect to these degrees will also be influenced, except those with their Sun in the sign of Capricorn as they will be experiencing the conjunction.

Pluto deals with regeneration, transformation and often points towards an ending of sorts in whatever area of life is involved (house position).  Pluto is rarely insignificant especially in Conjunction, Opposition or Square aspects. Pluto will often initiate massive change as the individuals in question are presented with internal alignments or external activities.  Pluto is not passive in its expression although it may come in gently just prior to a more intense period and provide hints on what needs change before it often brings dynamic action.

Pluto is not to be ignored and its actions are intense and can be upsetting (if you fight the process) especially when in conjunction or opposition to our natal placements.  However, it should be noted that once Pluto has run its course which usually begins to subside around 2-3degrees out of orb, the changes that took place will have pushed you out of situations that were no longer suitable for your path in life.  Over time and this can mean as much as two years after initial contact, we begin to fully understand what actually took place and the why behind these actions. 

Although the energies from Pluto can be disruptive and sometimes even aggressive or violent in nature, they teach us important lessons that can be used as life progresses, and we will make adjustments that push us in our intended direction.  Pluto energies are focused on change, disruption and/or regeneration, eventually promoting transformations that enhance our life and add to our life’s story.  Pluto is always an agent of needed transformation and often pushes us into action.

If and when Pluto is in opposition to our natal Sun, many times the actions of others is what propels us forward and promotes aggressive change and disruption in our lives.  Oppositions always suggest outside influences and often these changes that take hold are brought on through other people.  We may not even be able to change the course of action that unfolds in our lives.  Careful examination is advised and self-examination is often a by-product of what unfolds. 

“Bringing things to the surface” is what Pluto is all about.  Allow the energies to do what they must do instead of fighting the process.  It will make the change much more bearable but nonetheless, the outcome will be beneficial.

SUN IN CANCER

The Sun moves into the sensitive, emotional and nurturing sign of Cancer today, June 21, 2019, at approximately noon EDT. 

All of the water signs can be defined as sensitive and emotional although Cancer tries to cover its sensitivity with an exterior hard shell of protection.  Cancer people have a nurturing side which they use to protect those they love and provide them with the necessities of life from a deep and personal perspective.  They nurture their family and friends with love and affection and often are the shoulder to lean on in times of need. 

They truly and instinctually understand the behaviours of others and will do their best to offer themselves to those experiencing the sense of helplessness and insecurity.  They understand these qualities because of their own sensitivity to anything that is harsh and intrusive. 

Cancer people are caring to the extreme and give themselves freely.  Their strength lies in their emotions.  Many Cancerians would not admit to this, instead they might suggest that emotional intensity can be like carrying extra baggage or showing a sign of weakness.  Cancer individuals are, however, mothering and have a great concern for the welfare of their family. 

Cancerian individuals need a place of refuse where they can go and recharge their emotional batteries.  They need a place of solitude although they also enjoy the company of family and friends.  Many enjoy the art of cooking and some are the perfect chef.  They are quite capable of making gourmet meals that can satisfy the palate of even the most fastidious connoisseur of food.

Most are loving and caring and also have a very gentle quality within their nature.  There certain are those, however, that are uncomfortable with this gentleness and will try to be harder than they actually are to hide their perceived “weakness”.  Their strength actually lies in these qualities.

If you do not relate to these qualities, you will have to look deeper into the Sun sign and its positioning in the birth chart as well as other mitigating factors within the chart.  Sometimes there are other qualities and energies within the chart that completely dilute the sun sign qualities such as an emphasis in some other sign or house.  The whole chart always needs to be deciphered to get a clear understanding of the individual in question as a whole. 

One perfect example of how a Sun sign can be diluted would be someone with their Sun in Capricorn in the fifth house and five other planets in the fifth house and a rising sign of Leo.  The fifth house is naturally ruled by Leo and with having a Leo rising sign and the fifth house influence, the Capricorn tendencies would be softened although the need for personal advancement would still be strong.  This person would be much more assertive and outgoing because of the Leo traits than someone without the Leo emphasis in their chart.  Capricorn can be introverted but Leo is an extroverted sign.  Leo would be much more visible in this individual to the outside world.

SUMMER SOLSTICE 2019

We will be experiencing the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere on June 21, 2019 at 11:54 a.m. EDT.  This powerful solar energy serves to recharge our spirits, minds and bodies.

All things are energy and this energy is all connected.  Some of us are quite aware of these influential energies and others, are not.  With or without this awareness, all living things are affected by the position of the planets at their birth, by the continual movement of the planets, by the influence of the rotation of our earth including the changing seasons and any other shifts that occur in nature. 

When guided by spirit/our higher selves (call it what you will), our focus is to walk and live our truth, during the easy times but especially during the times that we are being tested or educated.  Take advantage of the strong solar energies of the Summer Solstice to push forward with this focus.  Use the more aggressive energies of the Sun to catapult forward and allow yourself to bloom into your own true creation.  Just as with the Sun is currently at its fullest potential for our earthly position, you too can allow all of your inner power and beauty to radiate out.  This expresses your true self but also benefits each and every other living thing that your energy touches.

What a glorious time of year.  Allow yourself to mirror the seasons.  We have just experienced a season of wonderful renewal.  We have worked hard to create buds of promise.  Now is the time to allow those buds to open and to eventually bear the fruits of our efforts but also to allow all other living things to see and experience this beauty and to eventually share our harvest.

WHAT IS AN ASTROLOGICAL TRANSIT & PROGRESSION CHART?

In Astrology, the Natal or birth chart is a snapshot of the heavens at the instant of birth with the planets frozen in those locations for the duration of your life.  The planets, their placement and their angles to each other and specific points in our natal chart tell the individual’s personal story.

Once we are born, the planets continue their movement around the zodiac and the movement of planets after our birth is known as transits and progressions. Again, however, the birth chart or natal chart placements remains intact for our lifetime.  We will not go into detail on the natal or birth chart in this post, but suffice to say the transiting and progressed planets and the “frozen” planets of our birth chart will make aspects to each other and will tell a story over and above the story told by our Natal chart.

When these transiting (moving) planets align with natal planet placements (and much depends on the overall condition of the natal chart), areas of your life defined by the house positions of the transits and progressions as well as the house positions of the planets in the natal chart are activated and life events and reactions begins to unfold.  This unfolding is experienced on an intuitive level at first when the transiting planets begin forming an aspect (angle between these links) and then can be experienced on an external level through events as the energies become enhanced by the joining up of other planetary influences.

Astrology can pinpoint when these areas of life will become activated and how these energies may affect you.  However, it is important to remember that much depends on the attitude you have during these life events as well as the duration of their effects on your life and to the intensity of what transpired.  An Astrology chart can prepare you for these upcoming energies and can provide you with clues as to how to deal with the energies and events or take advantage of what may transpire over the coming periods while the transiting and natal planets’ energies merge.

BLESSINGS

Make this day a special one by giving thanks for all that it holds.  You may go through struggles and life conditions may not be exactly what you would want them to be, but you are still here and living a life that allows you to grow, love and respond in your own way. 

No matter what life throws at your (whether you want to label the events challenging or rewarding), it is your attitude and focus on these things that set the stage for your life, not so much the events themselves.

We all experience blessings in our lives but at times we tend to look beyond them or take them for granted. 

Stop for a moment and look around you.  Have a really good look and see what is right in front of you.  What do you have and experience (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually)? 

Do you have clear thoughts and can you process the information with clarity?  Can you rationalize?

What would you change about your life, if anything? 

You realize you are never stuck?  You may feel as though you are held within life’s grip at time but this is only a concept.  You can move beyond barriers if you move beyond the fear (if you truly want to). 

Some of us have our health; some have great careers; some have children and friends that are the centre of their world; some have their fur babies who are loved dearly and their love for these companions is magnified by the love given back in return.  Most of us who are reading this post have food and water (which the majority of people in this world cannot take for granted) and many of us have an abundance of material wealth.  I have yet to meet one person who does not have love in some way or another.  Even those that feel that love has forsaken them, need to understand that this lake of love is only a belief structure that keeps this feeling alive.

Instead of looking at what is missing, look at what you enjoy.  It is important to share your blessings in whatever way you can and there are countless ways to share life.  Take a close look my friends and recognize life for what it truly is.  It is a blessing, a miracle and a gift.

NEPTUNE & ITS INFLUENCES IN THE NATAL CHART

Neptune’s influence can be quite subtle in its expression yet dynamic at the same time.  Its tendency is to cloud matters, to make things uncertain but can also lead to exciting spiritual enlightenment.  Much depends on how Neptune is aspected in the birth chart and by which planets or angles.

A strong Neptune can indicate trouble related to seeing the real picture.  There can be a tendency to visualize an ideal and cover up what might be right in front of you. 

Neptune can also produce vivid dreams which can be deciphered and used in daily life and it can stimulate the unconscious and activate psychic abilities.

The house that Neptune is located in within the astrology chart will define the area of life that may be somewhat cloudy and vague.  Again, however, it can produce vivid understanding of the mystical and insight that will unequivocally describe the nature and expression of that particular house. 

For example, if you were to have Neptune in the first house, you will come across as mysterious and intriguing, potentially a mystic or someone with great creativity and artistic expression.  This expression could also define someone with musical abilities, as well as someone who is lost in life and uses drugs to escape harsh realities.

Someone with Neptune in the seventh house could be attracted to a mystical type of individual or be drawn to those that require assistance or are lost.  Since the seventh house speaks about partnership, someone with Neptune in this house may have a hard time seeing their partner clearly.  They may put their partner on a pedestal and once the fog clears, they can be quite upset at who stands before them.  It is advised that anyone with Neptune in the seventh and especially those how have challenging aspects to Neptune that they review their chosen partner and even ask others what they think about them before plunging into a relationship.

The position of Neptune is also the place where mystical understanding and spiritual insight might be revealed especially if this is the ninth house or if Neptune is attached to a grand water trine in the birth chart.  Pluto in a close sextile to Neptune can also indicate the potential for spiritual insight and psychic leanings, especially if the connection is to the fourth or eighth house.  The twelfth house also speaks strongly of psychic potential but it also speaks of confinement and institutions where mental breakdowns and psychic disruption can have profound effects on the mental reasoning abilities.

When Neptune transits through a house or makes connections to planets in the birth chart, it is often quite a difficult transit to handle.  Many things associated with the house, the planet and sign can become quite unclear and misleading.  Nothing is for certain.

Neptune can also teach you a great deal about compassion and selflessness however, and even in extreme cases, its energies can lead to mystery and even psychosis if the channels are left to fester without the proper assistance to guide us through the illusiveness tied to Neptune.  In many cases confusion reigns and things are unclear.  The direction can be out of focus and rational may be difficult to achieve.  Insight is possible however.  Awakening through psychic teaching can be the final outcome.

We have been asked what an Oracle card reading is.  Tarot cards for example are oracle but they speak a language specific to Tarot and that is the language the reader has studied.  Holm Astrology uses Astrology symbol cards which speak the language of Astrology.  This is the native language of an Astrologer.  It is the reader’s job to translate the message of the oracle cards to the language understood by the client so the language of the cards used is irrelevant to the one receiving the message.

On Monday, June 17, 2019, at 4:31 a.m. EDT, we will be enjoying a Full Moon at 25 degrees in the sign of Sagittarius. 

A Full Moon is the time to harvest the seeds we have planted and nurtured in life.  It is the time to enjoy the results of our efforts.  The plans set in motion have reached a point where we can view our objectives and realize our progress, or reset our focus and make changes.  If we find that the seeds have been sowed in barren soil, it may be the time to walk away from our fruitless efforts.

Sagittarius has to do with life’s philosophy and spiritual undertakings.  In many cases Sagittarius’ energies can also be related to visionary quests with religious overtones (not necessarily traditional).  Sagittarius is optimistic and open-minded.  A Sagittarius influence wishes for nothing better than to offer up something positive that is growth oriented. 

Sagittarius has big ideas and expansion is part of its process.  There are no half-measures and in many ways it’s all or nothing.  When Sagittarius is involved, getting back up on our feet if we are to fall is not that difficult and beginning again is always an option.

It will be important to take into consideration what house 25 degrees of Sagittarius falls within in your natal chart.  This will be the area of life that is now ready for growth and expansion.  Part of the process, however, is to be realistic in your approach and not to expect way too much.  Take one step at a time.  Being patient and consistent over the long haul will prove rewarding more often than not.  Shooting for the stars is always a good idea but falling short might be more reasonable.  The higher you aim, the greater the reward but do not allow ego or your expectations cause a feeling of failure if you fall short.  Focus on what was accomplished not what fell short.

It will be important for you to check your natal chart and see if any planets or angles fall in conjunction or opposition to this degree of Sagittarius at 25.  The conjunction will tie in to the position of the Moon while the opposition will tie in with the position of the Sun.  Full Moons are always in direct opposition to the Sun, while New Moons are always in conjunction with the Sun.  The more planets that you have in your natal chart in and around 25 degrees, the stronger the influence of this Full Moon’s placement in your personal Astrology chart.

MOVING FORWARD INTO UNCHARTED TERRITORY

Life can run relatively smooth and then seemingly out of nowhere, we are suddenly propelled into unknown territory.  Sometimes, for example, we are forced to leave a long term relationship and as a result we are removed from a comfortable situation.  Sometimes the breakup is unbearable and we feel as though moving into these uncharted waters is frightening and oh so foreign. 

It is important to allow the necessary time to become more comfortable with these new experiences and to allow ourselves time to heal.  Even if it were us personally who have decided to end the relationship, it can still be a challenging situation and the necessary decision puts us in a place that we would rather not be.  It is, however, very important to understand and accept that these changes are necessary on some level and even if it feels totally unfamiliar, we will and do get used to our new situation as life begins to settle.  Even positive change can be stressful.

In some cases, we are forced into breaking away from more than just one relationship.  The break, many times, can include friends and family that we have enjoy for many years as a result of the relationship.  We may try to maintain the friendships.  Some will be successful, others will not. 

Sometimes people come into our lives for only a short period and then move on without warning or time for proper preparation.   These times can be troubling and the road ahead appears unclear.  It is common to fear the unknown but the new journey can offer happiness like we have never known before.  Remember that before we can move forward into the promise of our future, we have to release ourselves from the past.  Letting go is essential for a new door opening and being able to venture forward.

Very few of us truly know what tomorrow will bring.  We do control, however, how we move forward.  If we move forward anticipating disruptions, we will find disorder.  If we move forward anticipating a positive new adventure, we will find a constructive future. 

What will you manufacture? 

Pay close attention to your attitude moving forward and where your focus lies.

The road ahead can be a little intimidating if we allow but it is a path laid down for each individual and is specific to us.  Stay open to your destiny.  Life has its challenging conditions but this is how we grow and expand as a person.   Allow life to unfold.  Remain open, experience and maintain a positive attitude.  Trust in the process.  Bend when you need too, but be steadfast when it is necessary.

TRANSITING MERCURY AND THE MIDHEAVEN (MC)

In general, transiting Mercury moves quickly through the Zodiac.  It moves through a single sign in about 3 weeks. 

When Mercury goes retrograde, which occurs about 3 times a year, plans to sign agreements are best left until it goes into direct motion again (each retrograde cycle usually last about 4 to 5 weeks). 

Many individuals fear the Mercury retrograde cycle but this cycle should be used as a preparation time so that we can move forward once Mercury turns direct again.

Mercury retrograde would be especially strong in an Astrology chart if it conjuncts, squares, or is in opposition to an angle or planet by less than three degrees and especially if Mercury is retrograde in the natal/birth chart.

When Mercury moves across the Midheaven, this would be a time when our profession or work holds particular importance.  Perhaps this would be a time to prepare for upcoming events, or to make significant plans that will have an impact on you and/or others.  When Mercury crosses the Midheaven, communication in any form is highlighted.  It should be noted, however, in general, the energies of the Midheaven are not directly related to your personal life so whatever events may take place will not have an impact on your private life.

If Mercury is in retrograde, this should be a time when you review any upcoming events or plans that need to be addressed for the near future.  You can analyse this information and put the final touches on your plans so that all will be in perfect shape when the time is right to bringing this information or your proposals to those in a positions of authority or to those who will be affected by your plans.  If you plan and set goals during the time that Mercury is in retrograde and decide to pursue these before Mercury has turned direct, the potential for these to come to fruition are less favourable than if you were to wait out the retrograde cycle and take action after Mercury has turned direct again. 

This is not to say that you will not reach your goals but events may not run as smoothly as they would if Mercury were direct.  On the other hand, however, if you are naturally drawn to procrastination then the retrograde period often suggests that you pursue things now. 

Which of these apply to you?

Mercury rules the thinking process and how the mind works.  The Midheaven or MC deals with plans, our occupations, our life’s status, our ego and our public reputation.  It is important to recognize which stage Mercury will be in when reviewing material that you want to make public. 

The activation of Mercury’s energies will be in effect much longer if it is in retrograde.  Also, Mercury will pass the MC three times before it finally goes direct and passes out of influence of the Midheaven if there is a retrograde cycle involved. 

Ensure you use these energies to your benefit in reaching your goals particularly by timing action around the end of the retrograde cycle whenever possible. 

If life dictates that you cannot time actions around these retrograde and direct cycles, move forward with caution but remain optimistic that you will succeed.  Attitude plays a big part on all that we experience in life.

With mind, heart and arms wide open, create your dreams!  Envision your dreams as though they are already in place.  

Examine every facet of these dreams.  Do they have true value?  Are they invaluable for this life?  Will you find solace in their fulfillment?

Set your dreams based on guidelines that will help you grow as an individual in all avenues of existence.  Your dreams do not have to be selfless but many selfless dreams benefit the dreamer as well.
