PSYCHIC POTENTIAL UNLEASHED THROUGH THE NATAL CHART

We have touched on this topic before but we are repeatedly asked if there are any links found in the birth chart indicating potential for psychic abilities as well as indicators of intuition.  As a result, we thought it worth revisiting.

 

It is believed by this Astrologer that all people have the potential to unlock psychic abilities.  In some cases, this potential lies dormant until the day something triggers an event and the ability rises to the surface because the timing is right.   The birth chart does through placement indicate individuals that may be able to access these abilities easier than most individuals.

 

There are specific traits normally found in the birth chart of those with developed psychic abilities.  We have also found that those not blessed with the following traits in their natal chart may have indicators through the progression of the planets at some point in their lives.  Remember, however, the birth chart is a lifelong blueprint of your journey, and is forever unfolding.  You can overcome any challenging aspect found within the natal chart by promoting positive energies into your life through your focus and by utilizing the energies and trends offered during specific times in your life through transits and progressions.

 

It has been noted that women to have more psychic characteristics than men.  In order to bring these abilities to the surface, we have to utilize our instincts and sensitivities.  Most women have these qualities through their nurturing nature and some developed these traits earlier in life.  This is not to say that men do not have these qualities, as today’s men are learning to develop their compassionate and sensitive side.  As a result, we are seeing more men enjoy and expressing their psychic talents.

 

Quite often people with Grand Water Trines have psychic or intuitive abilities as their sensitivities are often not hindered.  Many people with a strong element of water in their charts, particularly Pisces and Scorpio, have links to psychic potential.  Sometimes those with the signs Aquarius and Sagittarius and the planets Uranus and Jupiter strongly aspected especially by Neptune, the Sun or the Moon in their charts have these qualities.  Strong planetary links to the water houses (4, 8, 12) have the same potentials.

 

Ties to Neptune especially with Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, the Sun and the Moon often produce these qualities.  Pluto and Neptune in close sextile also often points in this direction.  Those with a North or South Node connected to Pisces, Scorpio and Cancer have these abilities, or in the water houses.  The North Node suggests talents that have yet to develop but will be pushed to the surface in this life, while the South Node suggests that these psychic potentials were cultivated in a past life and are carried forward and usable in this life.

 

Saturn to Neptune may steady the psychic abilities and keep the individual grounded.  Alternatively, it may suggest a hindrance or blockages in developing this potential.

 

Rising signs often carry potential for psychic abilities especially Pisces or close ties to Neptune of a positive sort (sextile, trine or perhaps the conjunction) to the Ascendant (Rising Sign).  Cancer rising can also indicate psychic abilities, often suggesting strong mothering instincts and a nurturing personality.  The same potential exists with Scorpio rising (although the mothering is not as innate as those with Cancer).

 

Individuals having a strong tie to the planet Pluto often promotes the potential for these abilities to surface often after long deliberation.  As a result, they must watch for wanting to dominate this God-given talent, which can create blockages.

 

As you can see, there are many links associated with the easy flow of psychic potential and intuition.  The more these characteristics are found in the birth chart, the stronger the potential for easy development.  The greatest enemy to building psychic abilities is fear or those that seek power and dominance through their potential.

 

This potential is a gift that should be used for the greater good.

TESTING GROUND

 Staying focused and on course with our higher objectives no matter what the circumstances is the true test of our commitment.  These tests only serve to verify our true potential, our strength and inner resolve.

 

Life IS a testing ground.  It is important to adjust our mental attitude during life’s lessons and continually adapt in ways to help facilitate this necessary growth.  We do not only navigate through ground-breaking experiences, but we also grow immensely from the experience.  Once the lesson is complete, our life experience is enriched from this new experience or information.

 

We are strong.......beyond our own comprehension.  We are capable of not only managing but flourishing as a result of any life event.  We have more than enough strength to not only grow from these lessons but to also motivate others to help themselves when they too are experiencing a more challenging period in their lives.  There are many who are not aware of their own inner strength.  Through our own experiences we can assist those that would appreciate help to understand the experiences being presented to them.

NEPTUNE AND ITS INFLUENCE

 Neptune’s influence can be quite subtle in its expression yet dynamic at the same time.  Its tendency is to cloud matters, to make things uncertain but can also lead to exciting spiritual enlightenment.  Much depends on how Neptune is aspected in the birth chart and by which planets or angles.

 

A strong, poorly aspected Neptune in the birth chart can indicate trouble related to seeing the real picture.  There can be a tendency to visualize an ideal and yet cover up what might be right in front of you. 

 

A positively aspected Neptune can also produce vivid dreams which can be deciphered and used in daily life, and it can stimulate the unconscious and activate psychic abilities.

 

The house that Neptune is in within the Astrology chart will define the area of life that may be somewhat cloudy and vague.  Again, it can produce vivid understanding of the mystical and insight that will unequivocally describe the nature and expression of that particular house, however. 

 

For example, if you were to have Neptune in the first house, you will come across as mysterious and intriguing, potentially a mystic or someone with great creativity and artistic expression.  This expression could also define someone with musical abilities, or on the contrary, someone who is lost in life and uses drugs to escape a harsh reality.

 

Someone with Neptune in the seventh house could be attracted to a mystical type of individual or be drawn to those that require assistance or are lost.  Since the seventh house speaks about partnership, someone with Neptune in this house may have a hard time seeing their partner clearly.  They may put their partner on a pedestal and once the fog clears, they can be quite upset at who stands before them.  It is advised that anyone with Neptune in the seventh and especially those who have challenging aspects to Neptune that they review their chosen partner and even ask others what they think about them before plunging into a relationship.

 

The position of Neptune is also the place where mystical understanding and spiritual insight might be revealed especially if this is the ninth house or if Neptune is attached to a grand water trine in the birth chart.  

 

Pluto in a close sextile to Neptune can also indicate the potential for spiritual insight and psychic leanings, especially if the connection is to the fourth or eighth house.  The twelfth house also speaks strongly of psychic potential, but it can also speak of confinement and institutions where mental breakdowns and psychic disruption can have profound effects on the mental reasoning abilities.

 

When Neptune transits through a house or makes connections to planets in the birth chart, it is often quite a difficult transit to handle.  Many things associated with the house, the planet and sign can become quite unclear and misleading.  Nothing is for certain.

 

Neptune can also teach you a great deal about compassion and selflessness, however. 

 

Even in extreme cases, Neptune’s energies can lead to mystery and even psychosis if the channels are left to fester without the proper assistance to guide us through the illusiveness tied to Neptune.  In many cases, confusion reigns and things are unclear.  The direction can be out of focus and rational may be difficult to achieve.  Insight is possible, however.  Awakening through psychic teaching can be the final outcome.

MASTERING OUR SELF PERCEPTION

In order to become proficient at self-understanding, we must recognize our attitude towards or perception of self.  Every aspect of self is determined by our belief structures.  By knowing and acting in a more positive personal view, we can rise above any self limitations regardless of when they were created or “why” they were created for that matter.   By simply un-identifying with these preconceived notions, we set ourselves free from ownership of them.

 

If we do not like what we see, we can change our perspective on whom and what we think we are.  We are a blend of these ideas and we set things in motion by accepting our capabilities and attributes as part of self. 

 

Before we can take alternative actions however, we must recognize where our definition of self stems from – from our perceptions.  We are only limited if we have limited ourselves through our beliefs and attitudes.

 

We can always rid ourselves of any unwanted, stagnant, detrimental characteristics or notions that hold us back in our evolutionary growth.  We are the only one that can take these steps for we are the only one that controls our own person perception of self.  Others may say what they want as what they state are their opinions but we have to recognize that these are ”their opinions” and they do not belong to us. 

 

Why would we limit ourselves? 

 

Why would we not embrace beliefs that resonate with the true self; those concepts and beliefs that propel us to a new or heightened images of ourselves?

 

Standing back and having an honest look at who we believe we are can set positive change into motion.

 

Why adopt something that causes restraints? 

 

We can propel ourselves in directions that no longer limit or stagnate our growth.

FULL MOON IN SCORPIO, APRIL 26, 2021

 

 

On April 26 at 11:33 p.m. we will be experiencing a Full Moon at 7 degrees in the sign of Scorpio.  This will be the time when we reap the rewards for what was started some 6 month ago when we experienced the New Moon in Scorpio.  

 

We may want to remove and cleanse anything in our life that no longer suits our evolutionary growth.  As this is an opposition, in many cases, other people are involved, and we will need to be sure that the action we harvest is is our decision and not bases on what others would want us to do.  We need to be in control of our choices.

 

This is a sensitive placement of the Moon in Scorpio and perhaps you have been formulating an action plan or have gone deep within to come to the conclusion that you are reaching now.  In some cases, this can include things that you may not have acknowledged and now they are coming to the surface.  The subconscious is often involved and that which was put in place during the New Moon phase of Scorpio may now be going through its final defining moment and we have choices to make.

 

Scorpio often deals with matters that are considered taboo or sometimes referred to as the shadow side of life, so what surfaces may not be that pleasant to the senses.  There may be an intuitive flavour to what takes place and the occult\mysticism may be part of the picture.  What we started is now coming to fruition, and we now reap what we have sown.

 

Scorpio is deep and reflective and wants nothing more than to delve beneath the surface of matters.  It searches for the truth and pushes it to the surface.  Transformations take place due to the intensity and ability to get to the core of the matter.  Uranus may still have a lingering effect and something that surfaces may not be what you expected.  Sometimes it comes out of nowhere and is sudden in its action.  However abrupt this might be or sudden in action, the changes are necessary and the need to remove anything that stands in the way of advancement on an evolutionary and evolving level needs adjusting or total change.

MARS MOVES INTO THE SIGN OF CANCER

Mars moves into the sign of Cancer, a Cardinal, water sign today, April 23, 2021.  It remains in Cancer until June 12, 2021, and does not move into retrograde during this time span.

 

Mars is about drive and push and often speaks of ambition and energy in life.  In challenging aspect, Mars has been proven to be the instigator of aggressive action.  Sometimes Mars equates with accidents and even violence but nearly always promotes activity. 

 

Mars in positive aspect can reach towards achievement and can move ahead in quite a bold and impressive spur.  Its energies push you to stand up for what you believe in and for the rights of others as well as your own rights and promotes growth through hard work and a strong push to achieve.

 

Regardless of the aspect with Mars, you can always use its energies in a positive way, if you direct these energies constructively.  It is about focus and determination but this is what the lessons focus on. 

 

The influences also depend on the aspects Mars make while moving through the sign of Cancer and its house placement, but this often speaks to energy directed towards family and nurturing.  Mars in its natal placement (in your personal chart) must also be clearly analyzed to get the full picture of what Mars means specifically for you.  Cancer is associated with protection and caring for others and especially your personal family.  Cancer is the mother of the Zodiac and if the kids are in trouble, you know that Mom will be there for them.  The Moon of course which is ruled by Cancer often denotes the mother in Astrology.

 

The transit of Mars is often used as a timer and Mars moves rapidly through the zodiac.  Its influence can be felt up to 5 degrees approaching and dissipates at 2 degrees after separation.  A three- or four-day period will be when Mars’ energies are at their peak. 

 

On its own, Mars might have little influence, but to set off other transits, it often stimulates activity.  Much depends on the other transits in place, how they are placed in the natal chart and the aspects they are making.  A clear and concise delineation is always required to get the full influence at any given time. 

 

Sometimes people become worried when Mars is in play, but as mentioned, other factors must correlate with what is taking hold in life.  However, Mars is the significator of action and should not be ignored.

NEW RELATIONSHIPS

or those that are in a significant relationship, or any relationship for that matter, it is important to share and express your feelings, opinions, and experiences.  By opening the door to your intimate feelings and thoughts, you allow the relationship to transcend to the next level if this is where you want to take it. 

 

Many of us have experienced problematic relationships and sharing inner feelings may not have been beneficial and because of these past experiences, we may now feel that this result may again materialize if we share our inner feelings.

 

In order to activate the bond in a relationship however, it is important even though we may feel uncomfortable or worried that we may get hurt or used in some way again, that we share our inner self in order for our relationships not to stagnate and eventually disintegrate because of this fear.  We must realize that conditions from a past relationship no longer hold true for our new ones.  These new relationships can and in some cases will offer a new definition of what a meaningful relationship should look like.

 

Fear is often an offshoot of past experience and we learn through our mistakes, but we have to allow ourselves to open up again in order to move forward within important relationships.  This new relationship may provide us with something that we have never experienced before and moving to the next level is often what is required to go deeper into this new union.

 

This is something new and may not reflect anything of the past in any way.  It may provide us with a comfort level and companionship that we have never experienced before.  We must allow ourselves to let go a little.  Weigh out all the facts and move forward with the objective of creating a loving experience shared by two souls. 

 

We are not thrown together by chance.  Everyone we meet that becomes significant has a purpose and we are here to grow and merge our individualities into a more full, combined entity so to speak.

 

It can be difficult and sometimes frightening to move forward and open ourselves up to the personal secrets that are buried within.  When the time is right and we have had time to look deep into our mates and our instinct and gut draws us to this individual, take the chance.  You might be pleasantly surprised of the outcome.

SUN/MOON INTERACTIONS IN ASTROLOGY

 The Sun and Moon aspects within the Astrological natal chart are important.  

 

On a parental level, the Sun represents our father or disciplinary parent while the Moon represents our mother or nurturing parent.  Our parents are also linked to the MC and IC.  In some cases, the sign and house positions of these luminaries will define our parents.  

 

When transits and progressions involve our luminaries, they too often speak of our parents.  Our parents certainly are not the only focus for these luminaries however as the Sun and Moon can also speak of our emotions (Moon) and our identity (Sun), among other things.  

 

The aspects in our natal chart between the luminaries often depict the relationship between our parents and because of this, they also define the messages we received and internalized concerning our own part in this life (as man or woman) and our thinking of the opposite sex.

 

We would like to point out some important roles linked to the Sun and Moon.  

 

The Sun as mentioned identifies our father and also the role that men or the more dominant individuals play in our lives.  This can be an authority figure although in most cases the authority figure is represented by the planet Saturn.  

 

The Moon on the other hand as mentioned is indicative of our mother or the role women or the nurturers play in our lives.

 

The Sun has to do with ego and is the ruler of the sign Leo, in which ego plays a significant role.  The Moon, rules by Cancer, has to do with emotions and instincts.  

 

The motto of the Sun is “I am”.  The Sun is linked to self-assuredness, self-sufficiency, the urge for control of our destiny, our objectives and our goals. 

 

The Moon has a direct connection to our emotional makeup and what we feel and what we know instinctively (thinking is related to the planet Mercury).  The Moon is sometimes linked to intuition although the Moon’s placement by sign has a huge influence on this.  The Moon has to do with our emotional security, our moodiness and reaction to outside influence as well as our internal dialogue.  It also relates to our ability to moderate ourselves within our environment and our connection to others.  

 

The Sun, on the other hand, along with Mars, is powerfully connected to our drive in life.  The Moon describes how we go about satisfying our emotional needs.  The Moon is our emotional connection to our world, while the Sun is our urge to satisfy our desire to succeed.

 

When deciphering the aspects between the Moon and our Sun placement, as with all aspects, the closer the aspect is to being direct, the more important it becomes in the Astrology chart.  It is also important to recognize that applying aspects (moving towards each other) are more relevant than separating aspects (moving apart).  If, for example, the Sun and Moon are in conjunction and they are in the sign Libra and the Sun is at 7 degrees Libra while the Moon is at 10 degrees Libra, this is a separating aspect. If things were the other way around, so the Moon were at 7 degrees and the Sun were at 10 degree then this would be an applying aspect.  When the faster moving planet is moving towards the slower moving planet this is called an applying aspect while if the faster moving planet is moving away from the slower moving planet this is called a separating aspect.

 

Much will depend on the aspects between these two luminaries and also how they are related to other aspects within the birth chart.  The sign and house position carry greater weight and help define these energies and how they will relate to each other.  Do not forget that the house placement will be the areas of life that generates activity.  The sign is how this energy is released and its manner of expression.  The aspect will characterize how these energies pan out and whether they are working together in harmony or against one another in discord. 

 

By analysing the Sun, Moon and Ascendant in an individual’s chart, you will have a worthy idea of who this person is, along with the best way to approach them.

WISE OLD SOULS KEEP LEARNING

 On a physical level, you can exercise, eat properly, have regular checkups and in general look after yourself, but will this keep you young? 

 

Is being young a state of the body or a state of mind?  

 

You have heard or experienced how some young children seem to be old souls and are wise beyond their years.   Does wisdom make you old? 

 

Most young children play and enjoy their life and live in the moment.  This might be considered young.  They have few cares but when they have one, they can become obsessed within that moment.  However as soon as they move away from the issue by altering their focus, the issue is often gone forever or holds little relevance. 

 

Should this be considered young or a youthful thing to do, or is this something we could all benefit from?

 

Staying forever young certainly deals with conditioning and living in the moment.  Having fun may be an attitude we all should share, child or adult.  Children enjoy the moment and live within it.  They fully experience all the details of their focus. 

 

We, as adults, tend to live in our minds and think in terms of what will be or what has already been.  Rarely are we content with living in the now.  Staying forever young yet wise is an attitude.  Keep you mind open to new concepts and ideas.  Life always provides us with new lessons because we never have all of the information or all of the answers.

 

If you want to feel young, have fun and keep learning.  Don’t ever think that there is nothing left.  That frame of mind will ultimately end your existence. 

 

We are enveloped in a spiritual journey and we have just opened the door.  Even the most advanced souls (or should I say especially the most advanced) know that the journey of knowledge is just beginning.  The further along we progress, we realize how little we actually know.  This does not mean that we are ignorant of understanding.  It does mean this journey is new.

 

Stay young by remaining in the “school of life”.  Be mindful and watch your focus.  Learn from the very young and be open to the recognition that the journey is just beginning.

SUN MOVES INTO TAURUS, APRIL 19, 2020

 Late today (April 19, 2021), the Sun moves from the Cardinal, Fire sign of Aries into the Fixed, Earth sign of Taurus. 

 

If Taurus is strong in your chart, you are considered stable and reliable.  You would be an individual seeking security.  Those that have reached security either through material abundance or financial success may also find that they are more entrenched in this security from within.  Security can make its way into our lives through many different channels, although an attitude of security is our greatest asset or a defiant obstruction. 

 

Most Taurus individuals want to be known for their even temper, although they can be subject to outbursts, but not very often.  They are usually slow to anger but often hold on the grudges and feel hurt more than they are willing to admit.  If you cross these individuals, it is hard for them to forget.  Trust is a valuable attribute and a huge part of their comfort level. 

 

As mentioned, security is important for the typical Taurus individual.  Many Taureans think and prepare for retirement early in life, slowly increasing wealth or security through property or business enterprise.  A Taurus individual will not go into business without being prepared, however.  They do not like change and will persevere through much adversity rather than make significant changes.  If they do take that step, you know it has been in the back of their mind for a long time.  They do not like to take chances and like the tried, tested and true.

 

Most Taureans (being ruled by the planet Venus) are known for being quite sensual and often have strong physically attractive bodies.  Love and affection are important factors and they do not take love connections lightly.  When in love, they give it their all, although in some cases this begins to surface in later years.  They are dependable in many ways and stick by their loved ones for the long haul.  If they decide to split from their partner, they have profound reasons behind their choice.

 

In 2021, those with their Sun between 9-14 degrees in Taurus will have transiting Uranus conjunction their Sun sign.  This suggests that changes of varying sorts take place and often in unusual ways.  Some will seek to find freedom from anything that has held them in a place (in reality they did not want to be there) and move in a different direction.  Much will depend on the house placement of the Sun in the birth chart as this is the area of life that offers up a new direction and perhaps a break from tradition. 

 

If your Sun is in an earlier degree, then this might have taken place prior to this birthday and if your Sun is later than 14 degrees, you can expect things to change as Uranus nears your natal Sun.

 

Uranus’s action can be abrupt and sudden and often it takes place unexpectedly but fosters in a change that is required at that point in your life.  The way things were prior to this change needed some revamping and, in some cases, a total change.  It likely will not be an easy change even though it is what is required. 

 

If affected by this aspect, the path in life moves in a new direction.
