TRANSITING SATURN CONJUNCT NATAL SUN

The natal Sun has to do with who we are on the inside, our life objectives, and goals we wish to accomplish. It speaks of our core and depending on the sign of our Sun at birth and the house placement, it identifies how we will maneuver our way through life and what area of life is important in this pursuit.

Saturn has to do with restrictions and delays but if addressed appropriately, it also promotes the solidifications of our plans and educates us through our actions. Saturn is known as the teacher of the zodiac and depending on how it is aspected and placed in the natal chart, it often denotes areas of life that need to be worked on or areas of life that might pose problematic conditions. Saturn is rarely indicative of the easy road as we will need to work hard to achieve its objectives, but hard work pays off in dividends.

When transiting Saturn moves into conjunction to our natal Sun, the area of life dictated by the house position of our Sun is often under some stress. It appears that we must work hard to accomplish anything we set out to do and there are often delays and obstacles to overcome.

Check the natal positioning to Saturn and its aspects to get a clear understanding of what we might be dealing with.  If Saturn natally is unafflicted and there are no other or very few transits challenging our Sun, this aspect from Saturn to the Sun may indicate that a solidification process is underway, and structures are being built that will stand the test of time. However, if there are obstacles in the way and this is a poor alignment then work must be done, and you may find that there will be shortcomings. Success is not guaranteed without continued effort and even so, things may not work exactly the way you would like them to.

Transiting Saturn causes worry as it has a bad reputation, but with a sound approach and diligent effort much can be accomplished. What it teaches is often much more important than what we are trying to accomplish. There are lessons to be learned and perhaps challenges ahead but with a positive approach and no skipped steps, much potential is available.

TRANSITING MARS TRINE URANUS

Mars transits quickly through the natal chart unless it is moving in its retrograde cycle. When it is moving in its direct motion, you can use an applying orb of 5 degrees and a separating orb of 2 degrees. When Mars sits directly on your planet or angle, this will be when its energies are the strongest.

 

Mars represents our drive and ambitions to push ahead in life, our ability to move through adversity and our ability to achieve what we set out to do. If you are naturally a relaxed individual, when Mars trines your natal Uranus, you may feel an invigorating push to speak your mind, to move ahead with your objectives and perhaps start something new.

 

Uranus will assist you if your objectives are to start something new or to move in a different direction. A trine between Mars and Uranus would be the time to advance, and you can do this with more confidence than you normally could. Because of this confident attitude, you have a greater chance of achieving what you set out to do. Mars will supply the necessary push and Uranus will offer opportunities. Perhaps the timing seems appropriate to push ahead and contrary to your normal shy exterior, which of course depends on the general character traits exhibited in the natal chart, you are likely to feel that you are more capable of achieving.

 

We are not suggesting that introverted individuals are unable to achieve easily in life as these individuals move ahead often with less notice from others. What they achieve can be just as profound as with anyone else, but they are quiet about it. Most extroverts will likely share their ideas with others and demand more attention. Much will depend, of course, on the overall implications contained in the birth chart.

 

This transit we are focusing on today can also be related to freedom of expression and the need to be heard, especially if the third house is somehow involved. Those experiencing this aspect may also take interest in what others have to say and to help them move beyond any type of complacency that they may be experiencing. However, it is important to recognize that some individuals do not take kindly to what might be considered intervention. This, however, should not stop anyone from offering their help if this is what is wanted. Reaching out may be just what the doctor ordered, and advice or push may be what is needed.

 

Quite often Mars combined with Uranus can act in unusual ways and in an unexpected manner. This push may not be expected, and this will be because of Uranus’s input with the drive of Mars. If we take the time to review what has been taking place in life or if we analyse the area of life we are considering changing, we may find that it has been calling for a change of direction or a new approach for some time now. Quite often what needs change has been letting us know for some time in some subtle form or another. If we are not making the appropriate change then Mars can create actions that are more impulsive and perhaps a little more aggressive in nature. The trine usually suggests that the transition is easy or gentler than let’s say the energies of a square or conjunction.

 

It might just be time to take steps under the influence of this aspect. Open the door and maybe, an opportunity waits for those that dare to go beyond traditional habits. Sometimes something new comes from an action taken that in the beginning may not look overly promising but under the influence of the trine, it is required, and expresses itself over time.

DESTINY’S GATEWAY

 A single lifetime on earth, in the broad scheme of things, is a very short period. It can feel that much shorter depending on when and if we wake up and start living life, rather than just drifting along ignoring the moment. Once we begin to focus on the moment, life’s experience becomes more relevant and has much more meaning and purpose.

 

When asleep, we flit from day to day with little recognition of what is happening. We fail to understand the emptiness within can only be filled with awareness and presence. We point the finger at others and fail to realize that we build our moments, and our tomorrows from our expectations and focus.

 

When we wake, we know and understand that we create life by our thoughts and will only experience limitations in life if these are part of our expectations. Our concentrated thoughts create our path.

 

Many individuals believe that the many lessons we are meant to learn throughout this life have already been determined. Whether the lessons are predetermined or change as we change our direction throughout life is irrelevant. We have choices on how we react to each and every event we experience. We have a choice on how we respond to that individual that held the door for us, to that driver that let us in through heavy traffic, to that young child who just lost their toy, to that driver that cuts us off, to the stoppage of traffic on the highway, to our house being broken into, to the loss of our spouse, and the list goes on. These do not have to be negative only experiences. The same holds true for what we term “beneficial” experiences. (Is there a non-beneficial experience?)

 

Could we have stopped the accident on the highway or the death of our loved one? Undoubtedly no. Do we have a part in the process of how we appreciate and enjoy our life? Without a doubt!

 

If we believe or consider the possibility that we are constantly building our tomorrows by what we do today and by our expectations, it possible that as we mold our journey it will flex as we build.

 

Even though we are positive, we will still experience hard lessons. These are part of our journey. Our reaction to the lessons is what is important.

 

Is it not possible for us to go through these life experiences (lessons) and our part in the process is to learn from them and then carry on? Perhaps this is part of destiny’s gateway! 

 

I believe we must learn to take everything so personally. Should we be “owning” everything that happens? We are meant to experience but not own. These are not personal. They do not define us – they teach us.

 

We and only we make the decisions. We choose what we wish to believe and what response we will have throughout our journey. It is always in our hands even when we do not believe it is.

 

Perhaps all we need to do is watch life flow, be the spectator of all the events, learn from them and move forward without stress, being fearless and free. You will need to decide and then watch what builds from that decision.

URANUS RETROGRADE AUGUST 20, 2021

 Transiting Uranus moved into its retrograde motion on August 20, 2021, and will remain in retrograde motion until January 18, 2022.

 

Uranus’ energies are very revolutionary. They seek freedom of expression and have a strong desire to remove anything that has gone stale or no longer serves a viable purpose. Uranus’ energies act in unexpected manners, and you can never be totally sure how they will respond under pressure.

 

The area of life being affect by Uranus will be the house it is transiting. There is often a feeling that something must change or be shaken up somewhat before its expression is activated. Quite often, you get warnings of necessary changes in the area of life under the house’s influenced when Uranus is in retrograde and then when it turns direct either you make the necessary changes or life makes things happen for you. If you choose to do nothing, life will often take a leading role and see that the changes take place. When changes are forced upon us, they may not be pleasant in their expression. Incidents can happen at the spur of the moment, suddenly, unexpectedly, without warning.

 

Uranus motto could be “Expect the unexpected”.

 

When a planet is in retrograde, the energies related to the planet and the house(s) it is transiting are stifled or held back. The energy is turned inward and a time for review is at hand. It is a time to rethink things out, to redo, to repair.  You can prepare for when the energies are released (direct motion) so that you can move forward in the new direction of choice.

 

Uranus suggests that this is a time for inner reflection not only about your life but on a more personal level – the level of “who you are”. It often provides you with more freedom of expression and you just want to be you, or a new you. This is particularly so if Uranus is retrograde in your birth chart.  (Any planet that is retrograde in the birth chart becomes more powerful when it turns retrograde through transit.)

 

Uranus is known as the awakener, and this is what it aims to achieve. You should also have a look at the natal and transit placement of Uranus by house and by aspect as this will give you clues into how things might unfold. As with all outer planets, Uranus will make suggestions along the way, but it will often create a course with little or no direction or input from you.

 

Life happens and things change. Uranus will be the instigator behind these actions but remember regardless of how drastic and challenging the conditions may be, Uranus always provides you with exactly what you need. The result is or will be beneficial.

 

When Uranus goes direct, this should be the time of motivation to move towards the new and to make necessary changes. Again, these can be in disruptive ways but just for the moment. Do not spend any time worrying about how things might manifest, as Uranus acts on impulse and without warning and often releases in ways that you cannot be prepared for.

 

Remind yourself, as these changes are taking place, that these are happening for a better future.

 

Some people fear changes. Those who are more evolved, or open to the new, know that when the timing is ripe and change is necessary, it should be welcomed with open arms. Uranus will take you where you need to go, so be open and listen. You will know which avenue to take, if life does not dictate, that is. Remember you have freedom of choice on how your response. MOVING AHEAD IN MEASURED STEPS

There are times in life when the momentum seems to shift.  Times when we are moving well and other times when life seems to stall and stagnate.  

What are these stalled laps about? 

The times we appear to be moving forward or backward are measured in time sequence, that in many cases, are not of our own doing. Of course, there are times when shifts come that are expected (we see the potential and strive to make things happen).  Other times, it would appear that we have made poor judgements, or are disadvantaged times but we also see these coming. Because of this, we can prepare ourselves for what might be approaching.

More than often, life seems to take us by the hand and lead us to roads that we did not expect to be traveling. Under these circumstances, there is no time to prepare or plan. Life just seems to put us in situations that for the moment are not completely understood or predictable. These times can be uplifting, or they can feel like stumbling blocks to our growth.

As we maneuver our way through, we must adjust to where life takes us. Letting go and letting life certainly fits these occasions. When we find ourselves in a situation where something magnificent takes hold, we enjoy the ride. When life challenges us, however, we often struggle. It can be hard to see the silver lining, but if you look deep enough, you will find the valuable lesson.

We must walk these roads, good or bad. Our attitude holds the key to the pressures or enjoyment attached to each event. When life shifts, we decide what course of action to take. We also decide on our reaction to the process. We are never at the mercy of life, but we often find ourselves at the mercy of our mind’s reaction.

SUN IN VIRGO

The Sun moved from Leo into Virgo on August 22, 2021.  Leo has an energetic, outgoing personality, while Virgo is more subdued but is known for its ability or desire for creating something as close to perception as possible. In many ways this is the drive behind many personalities with strong Virgo characteristics.

 

Virgo individuals have a strong desire to organize, and this is often found within the working environment. They want things to be in their right place and structured in such a way that everything is easily attainable. They are reliable and often known for their analytic abilities. Perfection may be their ultimate goal, but many will see little flaws in what they do and how life operates. Nothing slips by their critical eye and every little detail must be perfect. Flaws are not acceptable, but a Virgoan would do well to realize that life has its imperfections and the more we pay attention to the minor defects the more we see them.

 

Virgo is a mutable, earth sign and working in the corporate world and any type of organizing requirements would be right up their alley. If they put their mind to something they will work at their best to make sure things are done right. Some can get caught up in their health, and cleanliness is an important factor. Hygiene is important and if they are not clean and well maintained, life may not be going well for them.

 

Transiting Pluto will be making a trine to those Virgos with their Sun in the late degrees and Neptune is in opposition as well. Virgos that have their Sun between 18-29 degrees will be impacted by these two planets in their birth charts. The opposition often suggests that matters may not be certain and quite often outside influences are a part of this. The trine from Pluto suggests that positive transformations are at hand and significant changes might be on the horizon.

 

The houses involved will determine the areas of life involved and other natal positions will also play a part in the overall conditions. Always check the whole chart to get a full understanding of the energies in place.

FULL MOON AUGUST 22, 2021

On August 22, 2021, we will experience a Full Moon in the sign of Aquarius at the 29^th degree at 8:01 a.m. This is a Blue Moon (second Full Moon in August). There are indicators that planets in the 29^th degree have a sense of urgency to them. The Full Moon speaks of a culmination point and the reaping of the fruits of our labor.

 

Aquarius often has to do with humanitarian principles and the desire to walk your own personal road. This then should be a unique time and opportunities are at hand due to the placements (in your chart) of the Full Moon.

 

Jupiter is conjunct the Moon at 26 degrees which signifies growth and expansion and the feeling that things are going well.

 

We also have a Grand Air Trine which denotes decisive action and a feeling that you need little if any help from outside sources. Grand trines have been noted to be closed circuits of self-sufficiency.

 

What was set in motion some six months ago should now come to fruition. Whatever efforts put forth leading up to the Full Moon will now bear fruit unless you did little or nothing with the energies up to this point.

 

Note which houses are involved and if a planet or significant point in your chart is within three degrees of this placement. The houses involved will relate to the area of life involved or significant angle which could be the Asc, MC, DC or IC.  Check if any other planetary energy is tightly conjunct or in opposition to 29 degrees Aquarius as these are the strongest influences.  The trine, sextile and quincunx can also play roles. The conjunction adds intensity while the opposition often speaks of other people being involved in the equation. The trine and sextile often denote positive and easy flow while the quincunx suggests that an adjustment is necessary.

 

The Grand Trine and the conjunction of Jupiter suggests a positive energy flow and potential for things working out well.  This could be a very significant time and we should let the energies flow freely and work with what is in front of us.

MASTERING OUR SELF PERCEPTION

To become proficient at self-understanding, we must recognize our attitude towards self and our perception of self. Every aspect of self is determined by our belief structures. By knowing and acting upon this, we can rise above any self limitations regardless of when they were created or “why” they were created for that matter. By simply un-identifying with these events or conceived notions, we set ourselves free of ownership of them.

 

If we do not like what we see, we can change our perspective on whom and what we think we are. We are a blend of these ideas and we set things in motion by accepting them as part of self. Before we can take alternative actions, we must recognize that the creation of self stems from our perception. We are only limited if we limit ourselves through our beliefs.

 

We can always rid ourselves of any unwanted, stagnant characteristics or notions that hold us back in our evolutionary growth. We are the only ones that can take these steps for change as we are the only ones that control our own personal perception of self. Others can say what they want for their opinions are simply that....”their” opinions.  These do not belong to us.

 

Why would we limit ourselves? Why adopt something that causes restraints? Why not reach for concepts and allow beliefs that resonate with the true self; those concepts and beliefs that propel us to a new or heightened images of ourselves?

 

Standing back and having an honest look at who you believe you are as this can set positive change into motion.

STATIONARY PLANETS IN THE NATAL OR TRANSIT CHART

 Planets from Mercury to Pluto have cycles referred to as retrograde and direct motion. The Sun and the Moon never go into retrograde motion.

 

The Planets, at times, appear to slow down in the heavens. They then appear to stop their forward motion. During this appearance of their stoppage of motion, it is known as stationary retrograde (because the planet is about to go into retrograde motion). The planet will remain in this stationary position for up to a few days, depending on the planet. After the planet moves into retrograde motion (appears to be moving backwards) and completes this retrograde cycle, it once again slows down and then appear to come to a stop again. This is termed stationary direct in Astrology. The length of time a planet is in stationary direct also depends on the planet involved. The outer planets remain in their stationary position much longer than the inner planets.

 

Stationary direct and stationary retrograde have a very powerful influence on the energies in a natal chart. An individual with a planet in a stationary position in the birth chart will have emphasize on the energies represented by the planet in question. There is also influence from the sign that the planet is in and the house where the stationary planet is located.

 

There is much evidence that the stationary planet can be the most powerful influence in the birth chart and that the energies of this stationary planet will rule much of the activity that will be released. At some point in the person’s life, these energies and the influence of the planet will become very significant. The energies of the stationary planet have been linked to the defining purpose of the individual’s life by some Astrologers.  This Astrologer believes that if there are other signatures within the birth chart that imply something very similar, this is the case, particularly if the North or South nodes are involved in the equation.

 

The individual with the stationary retrograde will only discover how to use these energies after a time of lengthy inner reflection coupled with life experiences that will lead to an awakening of sorts again depending on the stationary planet, its sign and its placement. This may take time as much self-study or thought-provoking experiences must be experienced before it is released. This is quite like a retrograde planet in the birth chart as it suggests that there is some inner reflection required before action can be taken.

 

The stationary direct individual has a different experience although the process is the same. The stationary directs influence depends on the sign the stationary planet is in and the house placement. However, the stationary direct individual has a much easier time unleashing the energies associated with the planet and its placement (much less self-study and reflection is required). Things seem to work more smoothly and on a more outward expression. The motivating factor that facilitates the desired information or acknowledgement and understanding can be released at a much early stage in life or under less restrictive conditions. The Stationary direct influence works in a similar manner as a planet that is in direct motion.

 

The energies released and the influence of the planet involved is of primary importance, but the direct stationary energies seemed to come through in a much more flowing, less restrictive manner than the energies of the retrograde stationary planet.

 

These energies work in a similar manner through transit. For the period the transit influence is in effect, the individual will be subject to these energies being released. The difference between a transit and a natal positioning is that the transit is temporary in nature while the natal influence will express itself when the individual is ready during the full life cycle.

AWAKEN TO THE GIANT WITHIN

Recognizing who we are at a higher level is paramount to our true awakening. We must understand our inner identity, which is not earth related, but spiritual. Our connection to self begins with this understanding. Being hypnotized by the mundane concerns of earthly living stagnates this progress although earthly living is essential or we would not be here.

 

We are not our bodies. We are not our achievements. We are not our failures. We are not just this body we use during life on earth.

 

We are spirit living in human form. We do not have to wait until we move on from this existence into the next level of consciousness to become in touch with our spirit.

 

Recognize ego’s intent now and refrain from identifying with ego’s superficial hold on us. Many are caught up in this transitional stage and have a hard time breaking away from ego’s stronghold. Many believe that they are their ego and identify themselves as ego. They recognize its negative impact in their lives and believe that they deserve ego’s persistent efforts to make them believe that we are worthy of nothing beyond simple existence. Guilt is a by-product of the ego and if ego maintains its stranglehold, we cannot rid ourselves of our feelings of guilt.

 

Our unhealthy connection with ego and guilt becomes our ever-present sidekick that keeps us at bay and stops any type of true progress as a spiritual entity.

 

We owe it to ourselves to recognize ego for what it is and get to know the true self. We can awaken to our true potential. We can assist others to awaken to their true potential. We are even more than a global consciousness. We are one consciousness aligned with source, without exception. By discovering self, we also work on our full consciousness. It is a win/win.

UNDERSTANDING TRANSITS

The natal chart is a snapshot of the heavens at birth. The planets are frozen in time and this picture creates the natal chart, but the transit chart is the planets continuing their course immediately after your birth. These transiting planets never stop moving.

 

As these transits continue their path, mostly clockwise through your natal chart, they make aspects or angles to the natal chart. Imagine laying a picture of the transiting planets over a picture of the natal chart.  There are several major aspects as well as several minor aspects that these transits will make to locations in your birth chart. Depending on the type of aspect and planets involved, you will experience challenging or easy flow events in your life. Some aspects are event-oriented, while others are on a deep but usually conscious level, where information gathered stimulates mental activity and your thought process and reasoning ability come into play. Some of the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) have profound effects on our overall development and instigate transformations that may at first be subtle but intensify as we become aware of the energies that are present in our lives.

 

There are time frames that affect us all at the same time through life, and we have touched on some of these in previous posts.

 

Each of our natal charts are unique. Transiting planets are all in the same location for each of us but how they make connection to our birth chart is different. Let’s say you have your Moon in Scorpio at 11 degrees. The planets currently transiting between 8-14 degrees of any sign would be impacting your Moon. Most transiting planets, particularly outer planets, begin to affect us when they are five degrees to becoming exact. An exact aspect when referring to the Moon at 11 degrees would be a planet at 11 degrees. This is when the influence is the strongest.

 

As these transits move around our chart, they can make aspects at any time and will have impacts on our lives when they become activated. We can forecast probable events by utilizing these aspects as they become active in your chart. We can also ascertain potentials and time frames when these activities will be in force, how intense they will be, and what can be gained through the energy.

 

Astrology is an amazing tool and offers insights into energies. Due to the varied nature of the planets and angles, these assist in providing some knowledge so that you can understand these events. SUN TRINE NEPTUNE

 While transiting through the natal chart and making favorable aspects, Neptune characterizes such attributes as idealism and romanticism. It also connects with such things as art, music and acting. Neptune deals with mysticism, spirituality and our connection to the higher realms. Its energies can bring forth visions, inspirational writing, poetry and can heighten our psychic abilities.

 

In Neptune’s more adverse energies, it deals with deception and suffering. It can reflect our inability to see things with total clarity and reflects misconceptions about ourselves especially when connected by adverse aspects to the Sun.

 

Neptune moves about 1 to 2 degrees in direct motion in one year, so its effects while transiting any planet can be long lasting. In some cases, its energies can be debilitating.

 

In contrast, its energies can be truly inspirational during the periods it is making contact in our lives. Even under the free-flowing energies of a trine or the opportunistic aspect of a sextile, it is still wise to obtain input from those you trust (and are not being influenced by the magical forces of a Neptunian aspects). Neptune becomes more realistic and is generous when it is releasing its energies.

 

When Neptune is trine to the Sun, you may find that your attention is leaning towards the intangible. You may find that the psychic realms, spirituality, and mysticism come to the surface especially for those that have ignored such areas before this aspect. You may find that materialistic concerns seem to go by the wayside, and you search for something with a deeper meaning, something that is more relevant than let’s say your job or buying that new car. Materialistic concerns are not that important when you are experiencing Neptune’s energies.

 

Some individuals under this influence will offer their time to charity organizations or will do volunteer work because they are searching for a deeper meaning in life. Ego has to be put aside as personal concerns do not seem to be important under these energies. You recognize the challenges that others may be experiencing, and you would love to help them in some way. You may be unsure on how to move forward in this but it is best just to move ahead and see what happens. Quite often it can be a very rewarding experience.

 

As mentioned earlier, your creativity will flow, and you can create art or write poetry that can stir much imagination. You may be inspired to write, and you should follow your heart. Inspiration stems from within and your connection to self in a more spiritual sense may be expanding, especially if Jupiter is part of this process. The creative juices are flowing, and some will do their best work under this influence.

 

Neptune increases your sensitivity, and your perception of other people is magnified at this time. You can work with this and help others in their plight. You have the opportunity and the interest to assist others in ways you never thought you could. Make sure you use these energies for the benefit of others but also open the door to a clearer understanding of the mystical side of your own personal life. You can use these energies in positive ways and the worst thing you can do is to do nothing but dream about what is possible.

 

Make sure you look at the houses being influenced during Neptune trine Sun (transiting Neptune, your Sun, and the position of natal Neptune, as well as aspects to your Sun). This will tell you what areas of life are being stimulated and how these energies might materialize.

IF IT IS NOT YOURS, DO NOT OWN IT

It can be very difficult watching loved ones going through difficult experiences. We all have had these experiences. When it is us having the experience, it’s wonderful to know that others have our back and are of assistance when we need it.

 

Life can occasionally feel very unfair, and it is easy to get swept away by these circumstances when we lose our focus. There are times when we feel lost and without solution.

 

If you find yourself assisting someone, do not allow yourself to get caught up in their emotions/situation. Helping someone does not mean you should own the event. You cannot be of assistance if you are weighed down by their burden. Many of us can easily get caught up in other people’s issues because of our compassion and we end up taking on more than just the roll of support.

 

There are some individuals so tuned into energies they struggle to separate other people’s issues from their own. They can feel depressed and not understand why. If you do not understand why you are feeling what you are feeling, ask yourself where these emotions are coming from. The odds are the emotions are yours, but the reason they are there is not. It is important to take inventory of what you are feeling so that you are not carrying around someone else’s baggage.

 

Reach out to those in need; offer help and emotional support; provide an ear or shoulder when needed but do not make these issues your own.

 

Allowing someone to unload and talk is probably one of the greatest gifts you can give. Be an ear, however, not a judge. Their journey is not yours. Send love and support and let them carry on with their journey.

 

We can only assist those who want help. We must honour other’s wishes and opinions even when these differ from our own.

 

Be supportive but never carry someone else’s burden because it is not ours to carry.

ASTROLOGICAL ROADMAP

The birth chart is a snapshot of the heavens at the instant of your birth.  Each planet represents a quality linked directly to you; a character trait if you will, that is different for all individuals. There are no two charts that are precisely the same, and even when someone is born in the same year, on the same day and the same moment, their point of birth will differ and therefore change the overall personal characteristics, although minutely, depending on how close their birth placement is.

 

The planets are placed into twelve houses circling the horoscope. Each house is significant as they represent an area of life. The planets located within the houses will have an impact on that area of life. If several planets located in a particular house, an emphasis is given to that area of life.

 

From the instant of birth onward, the planets begin moving again around the chart. As these planets all move at different speeds, they take different lengths of time to move through the houses. Some of the outer planets (distance from the Sun) move extremely slowly and will only go through 3-4 houses in your lifetime.  When these outer planets, and inner planets to a lesser degree, enter each house, they move across what is referred to as the house cusp. The cusp is the strongest area of the chart unless there are planetary forces located within those houses. This area of life will become intensified during these times and the nature of the planet will be enhanced.

 

If there are birth planets located in these houses, the planet moving through the house will rest on that planet and link with its energies and influence your life. These movements of Planets are called transit and progression, and there are several different connections that they can make with the planets from the birth chart. These connections are known as aspects.

 

The planetary locations at birth do not change and the angles between these birth planets will not change either for the Natal Chart.  These connections define our personality and our challenges and opportunities that we are born with. Over time, these will manifest and when the transits and progressions make aspects to these planetary positions, they activate the birth potential.

 

Some of these birth aspects are challenging and when transiting planets touch these areas in your chart, they either aggravate issues to push you to act or present opportunities to make amends with these difficulties.  When these interlinking planetary influences are in easy aspect with one another, they indicate opportunities that should be taken or opportunities that just seem to fall into your lap.  There are always lessons to be learned and during these transits, we are forced or challenged to take a closer look at the alternatives we have available and what we can do with these energies at hand.

 

Astrology never dictates what actions we will take but does offer suggestions on how to handle the planetary energies and how long they will influence our lives. We always have control of our destiny, but Astrology tells what to expect and possible alternatives to situations.
