TAURUS NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE

 On April 30, 2022, we will be experiencing a New Moon, Solar Eclipse.

Solar eclipses are an expansion of what is defined by the New Moon. The New Moon represents new beginnings often with opportunities and hidden possibilities. Opportunities can happen when we least expect and it will be important that we use the potential available but and not to harness it in any way. Destiny often presents itself, and change is on the horizon.

For this eclipse to affect us (which occurs at the 10 degrees Taurus) we need to have planets either conjunct or in opposition 10 degrees Taurus. Allow a 5-6 degree orb of influence (7-13 degrees Taurus or Scorpio). Some astrologers find that the square, trine, and sextile also have an influence but not to the same degree.

The Moon is exalted in the sign of Taurus, so the energies are released in an optimal expression.

T. Mars is also sextile this position of the Sun and Moon at 11 degrees Pisces. The energies of Mars along with this Solar Eclipse make it quite energetic and implies that the energies are in place for action and opportunity.

This Solar Eclipse is also conjunct (wide margin) T Uranus at 14 degrees Taurus. Uranus wants and pushes for change and change on some level is highlighted. The change will open areas to new experience, and it may be found through unexpected or sudden situations. Uranus is known as the awakener and enhances the opportunity to bring change although at times disruptive. You may find that you are able to overcome some of the more challenging aspects of life and move out of conditions that no longer serve to advance your cause. The house positions will tell the story.

T Venus and Jupiter are in conjunction with each other at 27 degrees Pisces. These two energies offer great potential for a rewarding experience and may even suggest a love connection or profound spiritual insightful due to the influence of Pisces and the wide conjunction with T Neptune which at 24 degrees Pisces.

This should be an interesting period which can last up to one year (Some Astrologers suggest an influence in years as the Solar Eclipse is in hours). Take advantage of this time and use the energies to foster change and new opportunities for growth and the pursuit of mystical interests.

COMMUNICATION

Many of us lead busy lives and spend much of our day tethered to our work, then driving, eating, cleaning and off to bed for another sleep to begin again. Many of us spend our evenings, relaxing in front of the television, scrolling through social media or playing interactive games.

 

Take a moment and think about what is lacking in our day.

 

Communication on a one-to-one, face-to-face level is slowly being replaced. We are so wrapped up in the apps on our phones that we have forgotten to be together with the people that are physically with us or would love to be with us.

 

We are slowly losing physical contact in favour of electronic amusement or conversation.

 

Our children are either watching television or gaming to occupy their time. If limits are not placed on these activities, children can become lost in their electronics. I recently read that there are direct links with the feelings of isolation, depression, distorted sense of reality, an extreme sense or no sense of self worth, lack of social skills, etc. with the overuse of technology with our children.

 

We are losing physical contact with friends and loved one and replacing this precious time with faceless interaction. I have personally experienced, as I am sure you have too, a group of people sitting together in a room and most of these people completely focused on their cell phones to the point that they cannot carry on a proper conversation with those in the room. How can we enjoy friendly conversation, interact, and share our experiences?

 

Technology certainly has its place and if used correctly can enhance the quality of our lives. These tools are important for communicate with friends and family who cannot be with us. These tools are important learning tools with the vast information available if we take the information from reliable sources. These tools are also great to unwind.

 

Use your technology but be sure that it is not at a cost to your family and friends. Share your life with those that are with you physically as well as with those that are on the other end of your phone. Ensure that your children develop all the skills that they will need to enrich their lives.

 

Nothing will ever replace a one-on-one conversation, a gentle touch, a hug or a kiss!

TRANSITING PLUTO TRINE SUN IN VIRGO

T. Pluto is currently in the sign of Capricorn, and because of its slow movement, it will remain in trine to many of those with their Sun in Virgo for many years (depending on the degree of their Sun). Pluto moves about one degree each year and its influence is deep and profound. Pluto’s energy brings about transformation as it pushes issues to the surface that need to be dealt with. When in aspect with the Sun, its energy speaks of inner qualities that you may have kept hidden or decided for one reason or another not to deal with. Under this energy these inner issues may surface and insist on being faced.

 

Since the aspect between the Sun and Pluto is a trine, the opportunity for releasing these issues and making concrete and significant alterations can be profound. TRANSITING VENUS CONJUNCT NATAL SUN

Venus, in transit, takes over one year to complete its cycle around the Sun. It takes approximately 18 months from one retrograde period to the next and its retrograde cycle is approximately 40 days in length.

 

Many people have Venus conjunct the Sun in their birth chart as it is never more than 48 degrees away from the Sun.

 

Venus is a feminine planetary influence and is linked to the sense of touch, material things and love. It has to do with kindness and politeness and adds a flair for wanting to be around beautiful things.

 

When Venus is direct motion, its energies want to manifest harmony, peace, beauty and love. When it is retrograde, its energies are the reverse, often taking on energies like that of Mars. With this retrograde influence, we can become more aggressive, and the drive may still be towards gaining material abundance although when it is attached to business activities, its influence is often to slow things down or even move into reverse for a while.

 

Venus when in conjunction to the Sun will only have a lasting influence of about 10 days unless it moves into retrograde.

 

Much of its influence will depend on other planetary energies during the same period when Venus is in aspect to your Sun.

 

Many Astrologers only use the transits of outer planets to natal Venus as the energies are often far too short lived to make any significant changes in our life (when using the energies of the inner planets). However, Venus’ cycle will still have an impact on what takes place in your life, but its influence will be quite short lived.

 

You will find that the feelings of affection are increased, and your sensitivities are also enhanced during this aspect. You may want more social time with others, and you will express yourself in a comfortable manner. Venus and the Sun usually go together very well unless there are other mitigating factors making challenging angles to this conjunction. You may feel inclined to go out and enjoy yourself, and to look after your own needs. You may find relaxation and the challenging conditions in life may be swept away at least for a while.

 

Sometimes with this aspect, you will need to make things happen. Other times, things just seem to flow your way. Sitting back and waiting for life however is never a good idea. Take life under your wing and have some fun.

 

You may run into someone that adds meaning to your life. This applies to both women and men, but Venus usually indicates those more female in nature. Women, in general, may be lots of fun to be with now. Women seem to enjoy these energies a little more than men.

TRANSITING URANUS CONJUNCT VENUS IN TAURUS

Transiting Uranus moved into Taurus on a permanent basis in March, 2019. It will remain in the sign of Taurus until 2026 although it does move into Gemini and then goes retrograde prior to that time near the end of its Taurus cycle. Those with Venus in Taurus will either be experiencing this conjunction, or they have already had this conjunction in their charts prior to this post.

 

This post will apply to anyone who has their natal Venus in Taurus at any degree. Venus’ energies are gentle and mild-mannered. They represent love, compassion and are social. In the sign of Taurus, these energies take on a new flavour. Although Venus’ energies stay in place, they will now be influenced by the energies of Uranus. Someone with Venus in Taurus can be very passionate in the pursuit of love and romance, seeking stability and structure. This is a gentle placement for Venus with a desire to form a permanent relationship.

 

Venus in Taurus is searches for something reliable and will build over time. Now imagine this combined with T. Uranus. Uranus is known as the awakener and really wants to stir up anything that has dormant. It seeks something new and wants excitement. Uranus’ energy will be a lot for Venus to handle, and you would be far better off taking the necessary time during this aspect before jumping into situations, especially involving romance.

SHIP OF LIFE

Why do we seem to not learn through easier lessons?

 

Is there some other way to teach us lessons so that we can still reap the full understanding we need to learn?

 

If we had control over every event in our life, would we shelter ourselves from the full lessons we need to learn and choose an easier path?

 

Life teaches us what we need to learn, but why then do we fight many of the lessons?

 

There is little choice when the lessons are presented, and we must adapt to these conditions. They are what they are. Quite the statement, but ultimately this is the truth.

 

Fighting lessons often serves to make what feels difficult even harder. It may appear in the beginning that we are winning when we are paddling up stream against the rapids but eventually we tire, and the current will take us downstream where you were meant to go in the beginning. Face your kayak of life downstream right from the get-go. Climb in and enjoy shooting the rapids. Ego tells you to paddle against the current but what does this accomplish?

 

We are well equipped to handle most of life’s events. There are times when we travel in a single person kayak but there will be times when we must utilize a guiding vessel. TRANSITS TO TAURUS SUN

When we look at transiting aspects to Taurus Natal Sun our first focus would be transiting Uranus which is making a powerful conjunction to those born with their Sun in the mid-degrees of Taurus. (Currently April 2022, T Uranus is at 14 degrees Taurus). On August 24, Uranus moves into its retrograde cycle at almost 19 degrees Taurus.

 

T. Uranus, known as the awakener, will push those with this influence to make changes, seek new and different objectives and perhaps act in a bohemian manner which can catch others by surprise. They may make sudden changes to their path in life and the directional change can have profound effects as time passes. This can affect their path in life and  their relationships, occupational directions, new and different ways of presenting themselves and moving away from anything that has gone stale or offers little in the area of evolution and new understandings.

 

Much will depend on the area of life that is being stimulated through the house position in the natal chart. Oppositions can create similar events but in most cases other people are involved and the change of direction will stem for these people that are part of the picture.

 

T. Mars and T. Jupiter will make sextiles to the Sun in the Taurean’s chart. Sextiles speak of opportunities and easier flow of energy. It will be up to the Taurean to act on the impulse of Uranus, however. Many will fight change due to Taurus’ fixed energy although it certainly looks like change is on the horizon. Taurus likes what is reliable and steady and does not do well with unexpected and sudden change that Uranus as well as Mars can bring. Taureans may fight the desire and push to change direction. Moving in a new direction may be frightening although after the challenge to move ahead is overcome many will find that the move was what was required.

 

Those with their Sun sign in the later degrees of Taurus will also be experiencing the trine from Pluto. Pluto speaks of dynamic change and leaving the past behind to move in a more suitable direction. Some will feel at the mercy of life at this point and feel as though there is no choice. We always have input into what unfolds and our attitude towards life’s events is always in our hands. Much of what happens will depend on the houses involved.

 

Many of these transits look positive in nature but it will still likely feel difficult to make the moves that will be required.

Living in the moment and experiencing the now is all we are guaranteed. Expectations and living in the past set us up for emotional wounds and disappointment.

 

Life is always taking us where we need to go. Many of us believe that there are much greater forces at work. Let go and let God, some would suggest. Others want to have a hand in all that unfolds. Perhaps a balanced blend of both is what is required.

 

We have seen some suggest that we should move forward without any expectations. Others suggest that we hold on to what is dear and meaningful and maintain these as our focus.

 

What feels right to you?

 

What do you feel you need to do or not do because of the conditions in your life?

 

The answer can be found deep within. Sometimes the answer is not what we want to hear so we ignore it. Do not get stuck on “why”, “should have” or “could have”. Life is about moving forward. You cannot stay back in the mindset of regret. It is not productive and robs you of living.

 

Do not personally own events. They are experiences which are not a part of you. Allow yourself the freedom you need to move forward. Listen to the voice within. Listening through quiet meditation often produces the answers. There is a greater force within that.

 

If you are struggling, ask for advice or assistance. You do not have to do it alone.

 

Experience your journey fully by living in the moment. The past is but a memory. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Right now is yours! Experience with it!

SUN IN TAURUS 2022

 The Sun moves into the sign of Taurus on April 19, 2022 EDT or April 20 UT. This post applies to individuals with their Sun in Taurus, and to a lesser extent to those with many planets in the second house or to those with the rising sign in Taurus.

 

As we move from the fire sign of Aries and into the earth sign of Taurus, we have pushed ourselves out into the world and are now ready to move into a more secure life situation. Aries instigates aggressive pursuits to make something out of themselves and Taurus now wants to instil a more sure-footed journey, as well as security.

 

Taurus’ energy builds a foundation that can stand the test of time. This is often acquired through material means and security is often measured by the rewards offered from a bank account that is slowly but steadily rising. Taurus individuals are security minded and use determination and discipline to reach their objectives. They do not rush to stake their claim as Aries individuals would. Today, April 16, 2022, we are experiencing a Full Moon in the sign of Libra at 26 degrees. Libra, a Cardinal, Air sign is strongly attached to relationships. Partnership and the need for balance and harmony are forefront. Although balance and harmony are key in relationships there is also a need for justice and fairness. Libra is a very amiable sign and truly wants to build on trust and honor through integrity and in some cases compliance.

 

The house position of this full moon in your chart will help define the areas of life if influencing your chart and other planetary energies making aspects to this position will also temper its influence.

 

The Full Moon speaks of the culmination of events started when the New Moon was in the same sign some six months ago. What was started then may now be near completion. Adjustments may be required if you did not put in the required work.

 

Currently T Pluto is 28 degrees Capricorn making a square to the position of the Full Moon and within range of having an influence. Pluto when making a square to this position can hamper outcomes and cause power struggles that may call for transformations on some level. There are no halfway measures about Pluto, and it can be quite disruptive, festering in the background for some time and now showing its energy.

 

If this has to do with marriage, adjustments are required and often on a large scale as the relationship may have been challenged for some time. Things will surface and need to be dealing with. These must be met head on and dealt with accordingly. The seventh house would be activated or perhaps the Ascendant.

 

If the occupation is asking for attention, then the tenth house or perhaps Saturn or the Sun might be part of the influence.

 

It should be understood that squares although challenging also indicate that some action is required in order to move forward and this is the beauty of this aspect. It is challenging enough to push you to make things right or change direction. In some case when Pluto is involved the changes are significant and is changed dramatically, although this will not be sudden in nature as you likely know that things need revamping.

 

Although this period can be challenging you will find that over time the changes were the right move and you will understand why as the dust settles.

HEALING EMOTIONAL WOUNDS, PART II

When we are called upon to move in new directions, no matter what the reason, the adjustment period can certainly be challenging. We CAN adapt, however. It is part of our nature. (The human race would not have flourished if we could not adapt.) The end of any condition, no matter what it is, always brings with it a new beginning.

 

A part of us, deep within, will understand that a transformation is required and sometimes life changes dramatically so that we can move out of complacency or a place of stagnation to find what is necessary for our own personal growth. We are not specifically speaking of someone’s death; this reference is general. Everything in life happens for a reason, although we may not always be able to figure out what that reason is. The answers often unfold over time and the “why” behind events begin to make some sense, but this is not always the case.

 

The changes we speak of could involve losing a loved one, but it could also be expressed in many other ways. We might step out of a relationship of significance, or someone may leave us when we believed the relationship was solid and secure. There may be times when we have made changes to our occupation which we though were secure. Sometimes we need to physically move away from those that we love. The possibilities of change are endless.

 

Change, however, is inevitable. It can happen when we least expect it but we cannot live in fear. The state of fear is not living. We adapt; we overcome; we flourish.

MARS MOVES INTO PISCES

Mars the ruling planet of Aries and co-ruler of Scorpio moves into the sign of Pisces on April 16, 2022. It remains in Pisces until May 25. Mars does not go retrograde until the end of October in the sign of Gemini.

 

Mars is associated with energy, push and our sex drive. It pushes us to act and can be rather impulsive and aggressive. There is no stagnation period with Mars although the retrograde cycle will slow matters down. Due to its quick movement Mars influences our birth chart for about two weeks in any given area. During this time depending on the aspect involved it speaks to us in terms of advancement and progress. To a certain degree its action may need to be stifled somewhat due to its forceful push. We can make mistakes along the way unless we charter our path ahead.

 

In the sign of Pisces Mars’ momentum and push can be linked to our advancement towards enlightenment and our spiritual connectedness. Meditation can produce great advances during Mars’ stay in Pisces and visionary interludes can become more prominent for those leaning this way.

 

Pisces has to do with service and compassion, and we may find that we want to help those less fortunate than ourselves and have more compassion. Working with the challenged and the needy are in line with Pisces’ desire to promote love and affection. Any service-oriented work or gesture will add perfectly with the energies of Mars in Pisces.

 

Although Pisces has a challenging time dealing with adversity, Mars may enhance our ability and drive to dissolve these issues if there are any that surface during this time. If we are going through a challenging condition perhaps linked to a relationship that lacks honesty, this might be the time when we decide to move away from the difficulty.

 

Pisces can also be quite romantic and when Mars is involved particularly when in aspect by harmonious links in the birth chart, romance can be highlighted. There may be strong sexual overtones to what this relationship entails, and you can fall head-over-heals in love during this powerful push from Mars. It will however be important to ensure that what you are viewing actually is what is in place as Pisces can be gullible. Romance however has a chance to bloom if all the right pieces come together.

HEALING EMOTIONAL WOUNDS, PART I

Emotional baggage can be exhausting to overcome but worse to carry around unresolved.

 

Our minds must process the information and to do so we must face whatever events have taken place. Our minds can play with the information creating interference and often, our minds make the matters much worse than they actually were. Our minds, over time, can also build on the information and exaggerate the original experience.

 

Many of us have experienced events that have been very emotional and depleting. They can cause emotional wounds that run very deep.

 

With most events in life, we have little control over the actual event, but we do have control over how we process and response to them.

 

Do we accept or do we fight the process?

 

It is essentials to separate ourselves from these events. They are not a part of us. They are not who we are. We do not own these events. Letting go or accepting can be one of the most challenging tasks we face, especially when it comes to losing loved ones for example.

 

We certainly need time to process and to adjust but acceptance is essential. Acceptance is required to move forward with our lives.

ANALYSIS OF THE PROGRESSED CHART

 The progressed chart is a wonderful tool in Astrology to tell us the story of how we are evolving in our personal life. The progressed chart, along with transits and the solar chart, are the three main factors in determining how the energies of the planets will unfold over a specific period. We can go back or forward to any time we wish to analyse. (The solar chart is a chart drawn up for any specific year from birthday to birthday). Advanced Astrologers can also use the midpoints to obtain more information when delineating events and timing. Solar arc is yet another tool for the advanced Astrologers.

 

The P. Sun, Midheaven and Ascendant as well as the house cusps move approximately one degree of arc each year. The Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars all have a three-year affect in relation to the natal chart if they are making aspects, while the outer planets move much slower, and their orb of influence is very tight. Some Astrologers use a 10–15-minute orb of influence with the outer planets to the natal positions.

 

You can read the progressed chart without including natal planets. Transits to the progressed positions can be utilized for information.

 

Each day of life after birth in a progressed chart equals one year of life eg your chart will move 30 days forward at age 31. The first year of life in a progressed chart is reflected by the actual first day of life. There are specific intervals in accordance with the aspects used in Astrology (solar arc) eg age 30 all the planets are in semi-sextile and at age 45 all the planets are in semi-square, etc. This is another form of delineation used by advanced Astrologers.

 

The P. Sun, Midheaven and Ascendant are very significant in the progressed chart, just as they are in the natal chart. The angular points (MC-Midheaven, ASC-Ascendant, DC-Descendant and IC-Immum Coeli) are activity areas. They are considered action points and are very important indicators as to when activity will take place. These angular points become active when a transiting planet is nearing the degree and becoming direct to the angular point. Activity or intensity increases the closer they are to being direct (most intense when at the exact same degree). eg having the Midheaven at 14 degree 27 minutes Gemini, the transiting planet becomes exact at that degree of 14 degrees 27 minutes Gemini.

 

The progressed planets when forming a conjunction to one of these angular house cusps will play a significant role for that particular year, and the energies will mix with the sign on the cusp of the house. The P. Moon moves approximately one degree per month. When activated, this influential period often suggests a significant change on some level and/or some emotional interaction. The P. Moon can also be used as a timer in Astrology. The Moon’s influence would be 3 months: one degree approaching, one degree while direct and one degree while separating. Each degree equals one month of time. eg when a planet is at 12 degrees in a sign, the P. Moon will be active from 11-13 degrees of that sign or in aspect forming an angle to this placement in the chart.

 

The progressed chart has similarities to the natal chart but differs with its orb of influence as it is not as wide.

 

Progressions are experiences that are on a more internal level, but they can still activate energies on an external level. The Sun and Moon and angular points are very significant and can affect the individual on an energetic and event-oriented manner.

 

All the major aspects hold relevance just as they do in the natal chart, (Conjunction, Sextile, Square, Trine, Quincunx) although as mentioned they use a smaller orb of influence. The minor aspects are also important but again you must use a much smaller orb of influence than the orb used in a natal chart.

 

You can have the inner progressed planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) affecting the natal chart indicating activity or influence, as well as transits influencing the progressed chart. The outer planets can have a profound effect if they become active or once again touch off an aspect in the natal chart through retrograde.

 

The progressed chart defines how the individual is developing in life through the movement of the planets. Progressions is a wonderful tool to help define how we are evolving in our personal lives.
