Sun in Scorpio in Astrology

In 2014, the Sun moves into the sign of Scorpio on Friday, October 24.  This post applies to those individuals that are born with their Sun in Scorpio and to a lesser degree those born with a Scorpio Ascendant.  There are three main types of Scorpio people and this is why it is such a misrepresented sign.  It is often referred to or designated as the Scorpion whose character traits are often the ones that are less desirable.  The sign of Scorpio also has the salamander and the eagle personalities.

The Scorpion carries with it traits such as deception and these individuals can harbour qualities that are not to be trusted.  They are known for the sexual promiscuity and their sexual trickery or cheating capabilities.  They also have a very vengeful side and once crossed, it is best to be on the lookout as they can be quite deceptive and sneaky in their plans to equal the score.  You are best not to cross them although in some cases they can be plain spiteful and often very vindictive even without provocation.  Jealousy is also a strong character trait and although they feel that it might be alright for them to have clandestine affairs, they would not take it well if their partner were to play the same game.  It is rather one sided and although they may be quite aware that it is wrong to carry on this way, they still feel entitled and have difficulties controlling their strong desires.

Alternatively, there is also the salamander and the eagle personalities of Scorpio.  Many will carry traits of both persona’s but those that have found a way to rise above the Scorpion tendencies can become very altruistic in their natures. 

Most Scorpio individuals regardless of classification have a need to go beneath the surface and dig deep for answers, and because of this, they make great psychologists, pathologists and private investigators, along with surgeons and in some cases miners. 

The eagle personalities has found their way past primal urges and because of their tendency to go deep are often found in circles involving the mystical side of life.  They are true to the cause of self-exploration and seek out qualities within themselves that can not only benefit them personally but also aid others in their time of need.  They are quite loyal to their word, their friends and their lovers.  Those that seek spiritual enlightenment are always ready to uncover their deepest and most mysterious character flaws and make dramatic changes and transformations to their character due to the planetary influence of Pluto.

Most Scorpio individuals are great at uncovering the truth and they often have a penetrating gaze as though they see past the superficial and see right to the core.  This can be a little formidable for those that are overly sensitive.  They feel that their privacy is important yet private matter can be alluring to the Scorpio individual for they want to uncover all tendencies hidden within.  Most Scorpio individuals have an air of secrecy about them and you will have a difficult time uncovering the deeper facets of their personality.  They may even hide their true selves so as to remain a secret and to capture the fascination of others.

Intrinsic Values

So what is important to you?  If you were to take three of your most valued treasures, what would they be?  Do these treasures have intrinsic value, security or monetary value? 

Security does cover a relatively wide spectrum.  Are security measures based on how you feel about yourself and your life’s current state of affairs?  What are they based on and do they define you as an individual?  What is your concept of security?  (These are concepts or belief structures that you have erected in your life—that you have built on solid foundations).  Are they sound?  Are the security feelings that you connect with based on financial access or are these security measures built on inner resources and something that you can always rely on?

It is important to realization that the measures you take in your life that provide you with a feeling of security are based on self-actualized concepts and belief structures that you have erected in your life.  True security and comfort levels will remain consistent if they come from within.  Getting in touch with yourself and finding an honest evaluation of what your objectives in life are can assist in evaluating where your priorities lie.

If you find that your definition of security is based on what you own or what you are doing for a living, take a moment to figure out why these values are significant in your life and how they affect your growth as an individual.  Do they initiate development on a deep level?  Are they part of your awakening?  Do your security measures come from spontaneous joyful feelings associated with everyday living?  Do they resonate with who you are and will they help you to achieve a clearer state of being?

In order to feel lasting fulfilment and true meaning, do you not have to uncover facets of your inner core and unlock your truest potential?  Is it not important to get in touch with your higher self and to manifest a combination of inner spiritual enlightenment and human interaction?  Getting in touch with our true identity and to facilitate communion with self are true stepping stones to security and self worth.

Meditation is one of the best vehicles to travel this path to awakening and spiritual enlightenment.  It helps to quiet the mind and accentuates a path that you can move along when your search goes beyond material contentment and financial security.  Meditation is the path of least resistance to reach our ultimate goals.

What is our single most important reason for this existence?  When awakened to our true purpose, we realize the “why” behind this existence....the purpose to this physical world.   You are already connected to this information.  It quietly waits within.  Open the channels of communication.  You are a spiritual being living in a physical body.

Neptune Sextile Pluto in Astrology

The sextile between Neptune and Pluto is a long standing aspect and it has been in influence for 70 years, therefore, everyone under the age of 70 will have this aspect in their birth chart.  This is a very sensitive placement between these two outer planets and is said to stimulate psychic and clairvoyant abilities, particularly if the Sun or Moon are also aspected by these planets.  The closer the sextile is to being direct, the stronger the influence.

This sextile began in the Second World War around 1942 and deals with inner exploration and our mystical journey.  In my opinion during the onset of the Second World War many of those involved or affected would have spent time in contemplation as to the “why” behind this war and through this contemplation they would have learned a great deal about themselves during their plight.  This would have taken place on a global scale and even those that were fighting and that were not influenced by this sextile in their birth chart, would have had it in transit and as a result, it would have been affecting different areas of their natal chart.

Pluto and Neptune both deal with the subconscious.  Neptune deals with spirituality while Pluto deals with transformation.  I am sure you can imagine the influence these two giants in Astrology would play in the lives of those with these energies strongly influencing their lives.  This sextile deals with the collective and ideology.  Many are swayed through these channels and are very innovative when dealing with problems faced by humanity.

There are those that can use their psychic abilities to aid others in their quest for truth.  Many of us who have this sextile strongly placed in our birth chart have the potential for expanding our understanding of the psychic and mystical journey that we share.  When regularly with groups of people with shared interests, these potentials can surface and become part of our everyday experience.

It is believed that if we follow our dreams, we can make them a reality.  This holds true as we mold our reality through belief structure and expectations in life.  There are many with varied “claire” talents and psychic ability with this sextile who openly use these techniques as tools to better our world.  With our talents we can infiltrate our consciousness if we have a willingness to explore the outer regions of the mind and our true connection with the world of mysticism.

You could check the transits of Uranus (which is in Aries at present) as it trines your natal Pluto and goes into opposition to natal Neptune.  This should awaken many of the individuals that have this placement strong in their charts.  The influence may come from others and the areas of life that will be affected will be associated with the placement of these natal planets in the birth chart.  You could use an orb of 5 degrees approaching and still feel the effects 2-3 degree separating.

Self Doubt

There are many forms of self-doubt but the one constant ingredient stems from the ego’s interference.  The ego tends to stagnate our growth through its necessity for control and tries to regulate how we feel about ourselves. 

This does not have to have a negative impact on us as it can provide us with positive information about our desire for and ability to create continued growth.  Without the ego’s stimulation to push forward in life and its push for us to believe in ourselves, we would ultimately stagnate in every area of life.  In some very important ways, the ego reinforces our positive traits in times of self-doubt.

The ego, however, does have many faces and some focuses of ego are not in our best interests.  The ego can invade our sense of self and makes us hold on to ideas and concepts that feed our ego, sometimes magnifying our own importance to a point that we feel somehow better than others.  This is a common burst of the ego’s intent.  It promotes a sense of exploded importance.  When ego is controlled, we understand that each and every one of us do have our own special talents which does make us special but certainly not better than our neighbour who also has their own special talent.  Ultimately, we are all equal.

The ego can also stands in our way of self-knowledge and can send out self-defeatist attitudes and beliefs that hinder our growth.  When ego is put in its proper place, true growth can prevail in many areas of life, so that the primary purpose of ego is to help nurture spiritual values and the understanding that we are all spiritual beings living in physical bodies.   This physical body is a vehicle to temporarily house our subconscious.  We are to honour it but it is available to us to use it as a tool to obtain a conscious understanding of whom we truly are.

If we invest too much time identifying with the ego (and there are many times throughout or lives that we take this route as we are not totally aware of our cosmic consciousness and our connection with the greater whole) we lose track of our true destiny and our calling.  We become wrapped up in material and mental ambitions.  We thwart our connection to the true self and actually lose our true identity.

Should our goal not be to reunite with our inner consciousness?   Should we not control the ego so as to use it in a positive manner so that it can help propel us in our proper direction and open up the channels within that allow entry to these hidden routes to our consciousness?  Self-doubt is certainly an obstacle in our evolution.  We can avoid many mislead detours leading us away from our greater purpose when we control our ego and use it as a positive tool. 

We are here to define ourselves and our uniqueness.  Together we can stimulate our true potential to spread love and compassion within our own circles and eventually spreading far and beyond our current influence.

Do not allow self-doubt to stagnate your intended growth or from following the path that leads to self-discovery and spiritual understanding.  We are one and as a joint force we can spread all that is positive and nurturing.  We can assist our world and promote peace to all.  Is this not part of our purpose?

Building on Faith

Faith is a difficult concept when one relies on a rational thought process.  Faith stands apart from what could be considered a logical and/or physical concept.  Faith is not something that one can buy or receive from someone else.  Faith is a knowing that cannot be taught; it just is!  Faith is not necessarily a religious experience.

 

To build on faith, you only require one action, acceptance.  Faith is not an idea or even a belief structure as these are finite.  Faith is infinite yet translucent in its nature.  You cannot put your finger on it and you cannot suggest that it is a living thing, although in many ways it is the living matter behind all that is.  Faith is a knowing of the truth.  It is a knowing that truth is alive and living within you.  It has no material base although it encompasses a solid foundation that you can build on.

Faith is not a concept or idea.  It is a knowing that will release us from the anxieties of life.

Faith involves letting go of your perceptions of how you “think” life should be.  Having faith is a knowing that life is moving exactly and precisely as it should always be, regardless of the mind’s interaction.  Faith is knowing that you will always be on track even in the face of adversity or judgement from others.  Open your heart to the natural faith within.  Release fear, judgement and expectations.  You are always on path, living in the eternal moment, encompassed by love.  Have faith in this!

Neptune in Astrology

Neptune is the mysterious planet that ruled the sign Pisces.  Neptune is very subtle in its nature and is known as the planet of illusion, inspiration and psychic perception.  Those with a strong Neptune in their birth chart often have mystical inclinations and psychic abilities.  Neptune also has an ability to deceive and colour reality, and it places blinders on many when in transit.

Neptune also has to do with artistic abilities and inspirational writing.  It has to do with musical talent and many with strong Neptune inclinations make great actors as they are able to losing themselves within the part that they are portraying.  Neptune also rules mystery and many a mystery novel have been written through the influence of Neptune’s imaginary insight. 

There are the unfortunate ones who indulge in drugs and alcohol in an attempt to withdraw from some of life’s more challenging moments and during these times Neptune is often found playing havoc in their charts.  The twelfth house is the natural ruler of Pisces and Neptune is also connected with this house.  The twelfth house has to do with places of confinement and often deals with institutions such as hospitals and even asylums.  The twelfth house is known as the dustbin of the zodiac, and this is often the place where we cover up life’s tumultuous conditions in the hope that in some way they will disappear.  This type of action is often facilitated through the influence of Neptune.

Dreams and dream psychology are also areas ruled by Neptune.  Someone with strong Pisces or a number of planets in aspect to Neptune can become so inclined and are able to decipher the meanings behind our dreams.  Although Neptune through transit often colours the way we are viewing current circumstances, it also provides us with hidden or subdued talents.  Through the use of an often overextending perception, abilities can produce psychic understanding about events that we normally are not able to penetrate.
