Being

In this transcendent journey we have embarking on, it is important to reflect on the various steps we have taken to arrive at our current state.  We often forget where we once were and how we have moved forward throughout various stages.  Some of us feel disheartened with the progress we believe we have made but if we were to look back even a few years, we would realization that we have actually come a very long way.

It is a continuous and gradual evolution, at least for the majority of us, and this is why we feel as though we have stagnated or at the very least, we are crawling along our path of enlightenment.

Each of us move along at our own pace and only when we are ready to move into the next phase will we actually enter into that realm.  Impatience and the very desire to “run” forward is a great part of why we feel so limited in our progress.

In general, we actually are progressing quite rapidly.  It is only the human condition of always wants more (which is rarely satisfied) that creates these feelings of frustration.  Have a close and realistic look at how much you have grown, of how far you have travelled.

For instance, look how you may be able to quiet your mind when meditating.  How long ago was it that you could barely keep the inner voice silent for more than a few seconds?  Silence is no longer a silent that it once was.  The empty space between thoughts is actually alive with information coming from higher sources and is now more readily available.

For those who have just embarked on this journey, remain patient and accept the fact that it has taken you a long time to get to the state of mind you are in now.  It will also take a long time to move away from this.  In hind sight, you will realize it took only mere moments for you to begin to experience the feelings of the slow moving train to which we speak.

Stay focused on your pursuit, and understand and accept that it will take time.  The earlier we can let go of our desire to move ahead, the sooner we will move forward in our objectives.

Spirit guidance takes you where you need to go every step of the way.  Understanding this might quieten the ego a little and provide more patience along the way.

This also applies to experiencing spirit and our inner communication.  These only take place as we become aware and raise our vibration to the proper frequency to pick up the subtle vibrations of the higher realm.  It is very subtle and can easily be missed at least in the beginning.  We do not hear spirit as spirits quite messages are such common please.  We have been witness to the subtle communications all of our lives and because of this they go unnoticed.  Like the sound of traffic in the city, we become so accustom to these sounds that our conscious mind no longer hears the noise.  Spirit and our inner voice are so common and we are so accustomed to their input in our lives that we tend to ignore the messages.

Focus on the infinite barrage of information that comes through.  Do not tune it out but do not become consumed by it either.  Find that perfect balance of spirit and earth for we are meant to live our earthly lives.  We are meant to experience life’s challenging conditions as we all know these are our learning tools and stepping stones.  Life is like a long walk on the beach.  There will be days of wonderful sunshine but there will be days that storms will blow in.  If you take the time to actually witness the storm, it too is often quite beautiful and very awe inspiring.  Once the storm has passed, the view is enhanced, and much more clear.

Enjoy the walk of life.  Stay in the moment.  You are spirit living in a temporary physical form, so take advantage of this opportunity.

The Moon in Astrology

The Moon in Astrology is the ruling planet of the sign Cancer and is affiliated with the fourth house.  It represents the mothering instinct and is linked to the feminine energies within each and every one of us.  The Moon deals with primal emotional needs.  It is where we nurture ourselves and take care of ourselves on an emotional level.  It is where we feel safe within.  The Moon is reflective of our emotionally reaction to life’s problems and also where we find the answers.  It provides us with a safe haven--a comfortable and secure emotional foundation that feels like home.  It is where we can go and reside in a gentle manner away from the intrusive forces of life and secure a place for ourselves during times of strife.  We call this the emotional home or safe haven.

Feelings of security are linked to the Moon and along with the 2nd house can provide the deepest emotional support that each of us so fundamentally require.  The Moon sign and its house position depict our emotional reaction to outside stimuli in our lives.

For example, someone with the Moon in Taurus, or in the second house, will find emotional security through building a foundation often based on material gatherings and monetary comfort.  Someone who has the Moon in Pisces will secure this emotional structure through an interaction with the higher sources and will find peace through communication with spirit and with having an inclination to psychic linking and intuitive perception.

The Moon also rules the basic habits we form in our formative years.  The Moon is reflective of our upbringing and often relates directly to the most nurturing parent and how they provided us with early support in childhood.  The moon is linked to the past and memories from the past and also how the past has affected us in our world today.  We carry with us how we were comforted through “mothering” and how our emotional requirements were taken care of.

The Sun in Astrology has to do with our ego, our will and our conscious selves, while the Moon has to do with instinctual response on an emotional level, the unconscious mind and letting go of the ego and its intervention.  The Moon is responsive, reactive and instinctual.  It often deals with our inner selves, our emotional being and our sense of self-worth.

The Moon is our deepest emotional self and describes our needs, our emotional wants and how we emotionally react to the world around us.  The Moon is our mothering side, our nurturing side and our response to the environment.  This mothering and nurturing response to the world deals with how we tend to our own emotional needs as well as how we tend to the needs of those that are important to us.

In its positive responsive state, the Moon fosters emotional interaction, sensitivity and the need to assist others on an emotional level.  This in turn provides us with self-assuredness also on an emotional level.  The Moon is representative our nurturing requirements being met and then our natural response to the world around us in times of need.  It fosters emotional kindness, emotional sympathy, emotional compassion and love.

In its more negative expression, the Moon has to do with feelings of unworthiness, self-insufficiency, emotion worry, excessive emotional responsiveness and a general feeling of anxiety about the world around us.

The Moon by sign, house placement and aspect will define our emotional reactions, the emotional state of being and the emotional instinctive reactions to life itself.

We should also check the Moon’s position by the element (Air, Earth, Water and Fire) and modality (Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable).

Circle of Influence

Pick your friends and associates carefully as each and every one of them will have an impact on you.  Not only do those around us have an effect on us at a mental level, they can also have an effect on our health.  This is not to say that the person you chat with in the coffee shop line-up will have an influence on your physical condition, but they will have an effect on your attitude and your energy level at that moment in time.  It will, of course, be in your hands just how much of an impact you allow them to have on you.

You may find that a social guest may have some important information that resonated with you on a deeper level and you may choose to engage in the energies and attitudes they are offering in the conversation.  You might hold some of the content of their dialogue in your conscious mind and you may also consume it on a subconscious level.  Alternatively, you may decide that the conversation held little to no importance to you and you may allow the energies of the conversation to be released.  Most conversations that we participate in, however, carry some ingrained information that we can call on at some later date or seeds of information that can grow into wonderful knowledge in the future.

Many of us spend long periods of time with our family and close friends.  These individuals play a significant role in our lives and their input is particularly relevant to our ongoing evolution.

Close family members are not always our best friends and some, if we allow, can even produce a lot of strife and stress in our lives.  We may wish them a kind and loving farewell as we acknowledge that they no longer serve a real positive purpose in our lives OR we can change our attitudes towards them as there are many times when these very individuals are exactly what is required to learn the lessons we have come to learn and to grow from our experiences with them.

If you find that your relationships need alterations, take a look at what you can do to facilitate change on some level.  If, however, you have done all you can and the relationship and your attitude towards the relationship is not adjusting then perhaps you will need to communicate your feelings in a clear and concise manner.  Change is something that all parties must be willing to participate in.

If the relationship is detrimental in all ways and change is not an option, it might be best to let go.  Toxic relationships can have an impact on our overall health and condition of the body.  To stay in a harmful relationship could prove to be very detrimental to both our happiness and our health.

On the opposite side of the coin, there are those relationships (which can also include friends and even associates) that provide us with an overall wonderful positive feel.  They embrace love and compassion as well as guidance.  These are the individuals we are so fortunate to encounter throughout our lives.  Appreciate these individuals for they are precious.

Important relationships will offer us many things, on many levels.  We should never take any of these relationships for granted, regardless of the challenging conditions that occur from time to time.  They are special and we must recognize and appreciate how fortunate we are to share our lives.  Some of these individuals will be with us for a long time while others may slip away too soon.

Enjoy each and every one of your friend and family members.  Share your life when you can and your love always.  We are all kindred spirits living our spiritual existence, currently in a physical vehicle.

The Sun in Astrology

The Sun in Astrology is the core to our identity.  It is the principal and dominant part of who we are.  The house placement and the Sun sign determine who we are and our life’s purpose, at least in part.  The Ascendant also has its part along with the North Node and its sign and house placement but these will be discussed at a later.

The Sun helps us define our life’s purpose and is our creative life force that pushes us on our intended path.  The Sun is the will to live and is also linked to our vitality.  If well aspected in the birth chart, it goes a long way in offering a healthy and lengthy life.

The Sun is the driving force behind our personality and is representative of the internal individual.  The Sun along with Mercury helps us to reason and are linked together forming the conscious mind.  There is a lot linked to determining our actions through the mental process, and the Sun helps us determine what course of action to take.  Along with Mercury, the Sun describes our final decisions and the conscious efforts that indicate which road we should take.

The Sun describes the internal “me”.  It is our basic identity but it can be filtered and distorted by other emphasis in our Astrology Chart.  It will still resonate with who we are internally and our true internal identity remains intact even with other strong placements within the birth chart.  It could be defined as your best self, the one who resides within but also the one you are striving to become.  Properly directed and used in its most positive affirmative actions, the Sun is focused and determined and very self-directed.

It is linked to the ego and when well-adjusted, it will provide us with internal fortitude and self-confidence to push us almost anywhere.   When the Sun is poorly aspected and out of alignment (poor aspects do not signify a negative response, only challenges put in place for us to conquer) it can make us willful in a detrimental manner, extremely self-centred and judgemental of others, focusing on their faults and weaknesses.

The Sun is our driving force, our vital energy and is directly linked to our deeper purpose.

Seek out the positive and affirmative characteristics of your Sun sign and your North Node to find your purpose and the push behind this incarnation to create a core central figure that you will resonate with on every level.

Fate and Our Own Free Will

There are some of us that questioned free will verses fate and just what influence and choices we have in life.

What is our definition of “Free Will”?

Many believe that when life seems to dictate a course of action, free will plays little to no part in the decision of what road life takes us down.  Has destiny simply laid out the hand of fate and we are now pawns in the game of life?

Ponder this for a moment-- we were intelligible energies prior to this incarnation.  Imagine that we understood the many different paths we could take on this earthly plain to activate some of our required lessons for our personal spiritual growth.  Imagine choosing your current life’s path.  Imagine reviewing potential experiences to fulfill our spiritual pursuits through our physical existence so that we would learn and grow through significant physical experiences.

If this were the case, we have taken personal control of our destiny.  If we planned it originally then nothing is by chance.  Yes, life would be pre-destined and fated, but we chose these fates.  There would never be mistakes.  We are human, without doubt, and may sway us off track at times but these alternative paths only serve to slow us down on our journey but ultimately we still end up at the chosen end.

Past, present and future are earthly terms and in reality they all exist simultaneously; therefore, an alternate that brings us to the same place, matters little.

If we understand our part in the process, we also take responsibility for our lives and this in turn removes all blame.  It is also believed that those alternate routes that may slow us down undoubtedly are changes in the course as there is more to gain under these new conditions.

Taking responsibility is very important and realizing that fate is predestined by self puts life in a completely different perspective.

This is not to say that you are to sit back and not to participate in our lives.  We must still do our part.  Free will is determined by the course of action or attitude we decide to take upon experiencing life’s events.  The greatest part of our personal free will rests in our reaction to life’s events and our attitude toward the events and those around us.

Life offers challenging conditions and even tragic events, but our response and our mental attitude is always a choice.  We are not at the mercy of life, and there will be many times in life when we actually understand some of the choices that lie before us.  Under these conditions, we choose which roads to take and the attitudes we adopt towards these lessons.

We carry our torch of life.  We decide which road to follow.  We accept responsibility, even when life seems unfair.  We hold the key by our reactions to life’s events.  Free will is our birthright and accepting that these life events were our choices to learn and to grow.  We will uncover the why behind all activities throughout our lives.

Accept responsibility and know that life is moving exactly as it should…. always on path…… always on course.

Internal Health

Health concerns should be addressed in such a way that they are understood from the inside out and not the outside in.  Many people view their body in these terms and do not take into consideration the effects the mind has on the body and its functions.

If you have been diagnosed with a condition regardless of how it has been defined, it is very important to first come to an understanding that the diagnosed illness is generated because of a need for change.  It is challenging to accept that the mind will interfere in such a way that if you do not make the changes or adjustments that are required then over time it can manifest as an illness.  This of course varies with each individual as some of us have come into this world to learn a valuable lesson by living under conditions linked to our health or lack of good health.

The soul can choose these conditions and will commit to whatever is needed to facilitate growth on this level of understanding.

There are, however, those of us who become ill because of circumstances in life.  In many cases, but not all, these conditions are reflective of internal dialogue that is not being adhered to.  The inner self is making suggestions on required life changes that will promote a healthier living environment (possibly mentally and physically) for the individual concerned.  This could include many factors, (too many to discuss in this post) but suffice to say that the individual will have been bombarded with information and events pointing to the required change prior to the onset of the illness or dis”ease”.

Most illnesses stems from the subconscious.  If those suffering from illness or disease become blanketed with feelings of sorrow or sadness in any form or fashion, they are promoting the growth of the illness.  On the other hand, positive thinking and the ability to view the body either in recovery mode or in an already perfect state of health will work to promote health and wellbeing.  A positive attitude will help facilitate a healthier view of the situation instead of promoting the illness by providing it with negative attention.  Remember, whatever the mind is allowed to focus on will promote growth in that direction.  When we concentrate on how bad we feel or acknowledge ownership of the illness, it becomes ours and has the potential for growth.

The energies of life work in such a way that you promote expansion of whatever you allow your thoughts to focus on.  It is important, therefore, to concentrate on a healthy and well maintained body even though it may not feel that way all the time.  Promote positive energy and allow it to radiate throughout your body on a constant basis.  When the mind wonders, do not be overly concerned as it takes much of the same thought process to generate conditions.  Simply and gently switch your minds focus on the healing potential already present within your body.

For those of us that know of others that are undergoing challenging conditions, do not spend any time worrying about their condition, or feeling sorry for them.  Address your focus on their body healing itself and simply offer positive affirmative thoughts and healing energy to the individual.  This cannot hurt in any way but negative, worrisome sentiments do not assist in their healing.

It is also important to understand that the soul has a mission and in some cases, the body will not heal as this is the path of greatest growth for this individual.  There are, however, many more cases of disease and illness that can be healed through healthy practices, positive attitudes and healing modalities.

Bring forth health and the natural healing capabilities that the body is capable of creating through positive thoughts and allow the free-flow of healing energy room to expand.

Techniques in Forecasting in Astrology

As we become familiar with the fundamentals of Astrology, such as the signs, houses, and aspects, we begin to develop a firm foundation of the meanings behind the horoscope.  The birth chart is a precise tool which delineates the character traits of an individual.  There are many variations found in a natal chart and this is what defines each of us as unique personalities.

Once you get a clear picture of what makes a person with Aries Sun and Capricorn Moon different from someone with Aquarius Sun and Cancer Moon (which is only a part of the process) we can move on to delineate a chart for upcoming transits and progressions.  These tools used for transits and progressions decipher what potential future events or areas of life will be affected by the passing of the planetary giants in our solar system.

We have to take into consideration all the planets but pay particular attention to the outer ones, especially Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto together with any inner planet that is in retrograde motion for a prolonged period of time.  The inner planets move very quickly through the zodiac and under most conditions, usually only impact us for a very short period of time and have little to no lasting effect.

The outer planets and retrograde planets passing over sensitive points in our birth chart, particularly the Ascendant and the Midheaven, can have profound effects on our lives and these often point towards turning points or significant life events that can alter our perception or instigate action that changes our perceptions or can point towards changes to our lives.

The most powerful transit is a transiting planet conjuncting a natal sensitive point or planetary body.  The energies of the planets merge and become one and under many conditions, they intensify what these energies are when linked together.  The houses are areas of life and the transiting planet will intensify these points and may produce profound life altering effects especially when several transiting planets are saying something in the chart that is repeated.

The outer planets can be within an orb of influence for up to two to three years depending on when they go into retrograde motion and when they become direct again.  The first impact when a transiting planet makes an important aspect to another planet and makes a direct aspect to a natal point or planet will be the strongest.  An example of this might be Saturn conjunction Mars at 15 degree of Aries.  Both planets become direct when the transiting planet is exactly 15 degrees Aries.  This applies to squares, a 90 degree aspect, the opposition, a 180 degree aspect and all other major aspects, the trine, sextile as well as the minor aspects - semi-sextile, the semi-square and so forth.  The major aspects are more significant than the minor aspects and the challenging aspects usually promote transitional times in our lives.

There are several progressed aspects that are also important in determining factors in a birth chart and the potential for change in a person’s life.  We will look at the progressions at a later date.  Progressions are a more internal change in their nature.  You will use the progressed Moon, transiting Mars as well as the transiting Sun and transiting Uranus as timers, as they often produce a push that activates the energies of the outer planets and often signify an event or a culmination producing internal insight.

Today we have only touched on how to delineate potential life events as well as the timing as to when these events may unfold.  The area of life affected will be described by the houses involved in the transit or progression, as well as the natal placement of the transiting planets by aspect and house placement.

This offers only a slight insight into the understanding of how to decipher potential events in times to come.
