STATIONARY PLANETS IN ASTROLOGY PART I

In an Astrology chart, planets can either be direct (forward motion), retrograde (backward motion, at least in appearance) or stationary (remaining still or motionless).  We will touch on the stationary planets or planets in station.  During the process of when a planet moves from direct to stationary, it slows down and its energies are temporarily blocked or stagnated and they lose their intensity.  When the planet is actually stationary, which usually lasts a few days depending on the planet, (the Moon and Sun never go stationary or retrograde) its energies become focused and very intense.  A stationary planet often becomes the strongest single planetary influence in the chart. 

While stationary, there is an outburst of energy.  On August 1-3, 2015, Saturn turned stationary.  Most of how this influenced your chart depends on the natal condition of Saturn.  The house will define the areas of life which were affected and the people involved.  The aspects would have determined how the energy was released and whether it was a positive influence or a challenging influence. 

Saturn’s effect is to delay, restrict, obstruct and generally challenge your life and the house that it was transiting would have been affected in this way, especially if poorly aspected in the birth chart.  If it is well aspected in the natal chart, Saturn offers stability and potentially more structure and security in your life in the house it was transiting as well as the house that it is located in, in the natal chart.  You can also look to see which house Saturn rules in the birth chart (the house with Capricorn on its cusp) for further definition as to what would have taken place.  Once it went direct again, the normal energy flow returned and as of today, things are now back to their original intensity.

In the birth chart, a stationary planet can have a dominant influence in your life, especially when aspected through transit or progression.  For example, if you have Uranus stationary in your birth chart, you can expect the unexpected to happen in life.  There is a need for something new and exciting to come into your life.  Change is almost inevitable and often constant.  It is as if you are swept away by the winds of life and can anticipate new and unusual twists and turns throughout life that can be exhilarating and liberating, but also very disruptive and challenging.

As mentioned time and time again, we have been accused of being long-winded so we will wind up this post for today but will revisit this topic again on Thursday.

APPRECIATION

Let’s take a moment to recognize the miracles in life and all its experiences.  It is important to appreciate what life offers each and every day, without judgement.....to live in the moment, filled with gratitude.  There are countless individuals living with far less necessities and “things” that gratefully share this planet with us.  Many survive with less than bare essentials which we have difficulty comprehending.

We experience our lives wrapped up in mundane affairs, rarely focusing on anything beyond our own front door.  We forget to see the beauty in the front garden. 

Why were we so fortunate to be born into our life’s circumstance? 

Be thankful for each day and the new beginning that it offers.  Begin each day with gratitude and always take a moment to review your blessings.  When it is one of those inevitable times in life to learn a valuable lesson, be grateful for the lesson, for the personal growth.  Do not allow yourself to get caught up in the “why me”.  Through your attitude, allow each life lesson to be a building block to your spiritual or mystical education.   

Create a world of wonder through your attitude, through your open heart.

Positive thinking brings positive results.  You are the creator of your attitude.  Mold your life through gratitude.  Everyone deserves happiness and peace.  Allow these to flourish.

GETTING BACK ON COURSE

It is not unusual, at times, for us to feel as though we have lost focus and have wandered from our path, although we are never really off course.  Even “apparent” alternate routes that we follow for intermittent periods or lulls in our normal routines are not truly off track and they are required routes or breaks for us in that moment in time.  We venture off our anticipated course and then once we begin to get the feeling of being “off course”, we refocus our attention and move back into where we believe we should be.

If we were to study where we have been (either on a mental level or on a physically level), we can come up with some potential reasons why we swayed off course.  Perhaps we had to get a clearer glimpse of something or some part of our own personality that we were not aware of, or perhaps we had to remind ourselves of our inner determination and strength for personal assurance that we are on the right course.  Whatever the reason, there was a reason for our detours and meandering.

Getting back on our preconceived idea of what our path should be can be a little difficult at least at times.  For an example, we may have been following a regimented meditation schedule for many years and all of a sudden we fell of track for a while and beginning again might be a little challenging.  However as we reacquaint ourselves with and restore our routines, we quickly renew our regime and the results may even surpass our previous ones.  Our interlude may interrupt our momentum but when we get back on track, we can be propelled forward with much more incentive and wonderful results.

If you have come to the conclusion that you have been off track and would like to get back on course again, this recognition is verification that the time has come for you to do just that and it is important to follow through so you do not miss this opportunity. 

Sometimes life seems to get in the way and pushes us supposedly off course.  Life changing events do happen in periodically but eventually we can guide ourselves back to focus.

All side trips and stopovers on our road of life are part of the trip.  When the time is right, we will get a little push from within which will prod us to get back to our main path and for us to regain our momentum.  Feel good about yourself as you regain momentum.  Recognize your accomplishments and be grateful.

THE PLUTO IN VIRGO GENERATION IN ASTROLOGY

If you were born from mid-1957 to mid-1972, you are the Pluto in Virgo generation give or take a few months either side of this time frame, as Pluto went retrograde during this period (appearing to move backwards in the heavens). 

This generation may be somewhat obsessive about their health and cleanliness, in general.  They are intensely interested in keeping their body in top shape if they are able, through exercise routines and proper diet.  Some of this may vary depending on what house Pluto is in and the aspects to Pluto in the birth chart.

Virgo can become obsessively involved in many things as they have great analytical perception and the ability to uncover life’s minute details.  

In general, most Pluto in Virgo individuals find their working life rather important to them and they push themselves to find perfection and uncovering all the minute flaws within the work environment.  Some prefer to remain in the background rather than getting all the attention.  Behind the scenes analytical and research work will suit most individuals born with this combination.  They would make excellent detectives and specialists in fields such as psychology, parapsychology and virtually any field that requires deep concentration and introspective focus.  They are usually absorbed in their work and comfortable in knowing that they are doing their best.  Doing their best is a compulsive need and this is why they are highly sought after in the working environment.

These individuals are inwardly intense and analyse themselves, seeking flaws.  Some become overly critical of themselves and some to the point of obsession, yet they may have difficulty accepting criticism.  When angered they usually become ardently heated and yet they keep much of what they feel inside.  They need to find a way to release this pent up anger and stop worrying over issues as this can lead to health related issues as life progresses, especially nervous conditions. 

Rigorous exercise such as running, the martial arts, and anything that pushes the body and releases the mind from the day’s activities will assist in letting go of these feelings.  Gentle exercise routines such as Yoga and Tai Chi can also do wonders for these individuals.  Without such routines, physically restrictions in the body can occur.

Pluto in Virgo people are inwardly intense and need deep study as there is a yearning for understanding of any subject in great detail, especially themselves.  A profession in research, institutional occupations or working in government positions would be of interest to these individuals.  They make good counsellors, pharmaceutical engineers, and mechanics --anything related to detailed work is right up their alley.

There may also be an interest in all hidden matters, such as the occult and the fields of metaphysics.  Any mystery holds their interest and they are great at solving deep internalized issues in others. 

Most at some point in their lives will redirect their energy outward after transforming their own lives through self-actualization techniques, but not until they have completed a full self-study and obtained a full understanding of what makes them tick.  Once they make this transformation to a higher sense of being, there is great healing power in many of these individuals.  They can use this gift to assist others and help them overcome many of their life’s deficiencies.

Again, this is a general description of what Pluto in Virgo represents.  There can be other strong influences in the birth chart that water down or completely dilute these energies.  On the other hand, there can be other combinations and aspects within the birth chart that will heighten these energies to an extreme.  Each natal chart is as unique as the individual it represents.

WHAT IS OUR ORIGIN?

In many cultures, reincarnation is widely accepted.  One concept suggests that we are physically here temporarily from spirit form.  It has been said that there are concepts and truths that we can only understand and spiritually evolve from through the physical, earthy experience.  Due to our learning abilities and varying lessons, we come back over and over again.

It is believed that we can return as male or female.  It is also believed that we can live at any point in time, either in the future or in the past.  Time is man-made.  The past, the present and the future are here now.  With the concept that all time runs simultaneously.  Our current life does not have to be followed by a life that would be considered in our future.  The soul ascertains what lessons are required for its growth and will pick a life that is suitable for its required experience.

What and where is our origin?  As humans, we can only speculate but there are those that believe we are a part God, our source, the whole.  We all form as one in unity with God or whatever term you are comfortable using.  We are joined on some base level with everything that exists--here on earth, beyond our universe and beyond the physical realm. 

If reincarnation is a reality, what we experience in our ever-day lives should not be ignored as it is significant.  Each moment of this life is important.  If not, we would not be here now.  There are many lessons that we have and will partake in throughout this life.  Perhaps we are here to ingest each experience with the intent of learning something that will not only assist us in this life, but will also provide us with valuable information in furthering our evolution on other levels of existence.

Most of us have preconceived notions of what the afterlife is like.  In reality, we do not truly know.  Those with psychic connections get a better picture of what lies ahead, but this is undoubtedly just a glimpse of a small portion of the whole.   

Soon enough we will have our answers to all of our life long questions.  But we can let that go for now and live our lives for today....for the moment,  filtering through each experience, gathering knowledge and information as we enjoy what this life has to offer. 

It is a beautiful life filled with mystery and wonder.  Live, learn, experience and enjoy!

TRANSITING URANUS CONJUNCT NATAL VENUS - PART II

As promised, here is Part II of our post from July 21.

We previously suggested that Uranus instigates and promotes change, as under most circumstances, the current conditions in life no longer fit the criteria that our lives now require for growth.

If Venus in your chart speaks of monetary influences (Venus in the second house, eighth house or perhaps the fifth) an unexpected financial turn of events may be suggested.  This could be on a positive note or on a note that you would not consider quite so positive.  Once again you have to check the natal promise to see how this energy might be revealed.  The natal house placement of Venus and Uranus along with the house transiting Uranus is moving through will provide details as to how this transit might unfold, but it is very hard to figure out exactly how it will manifest.  Uranus in the fifth might suggest winning money through gambling or in the lottery.  Uranus in the second might suggest monetary fluctuations and in the eighth might mean shared resources could be part of the overall picture.

You may also find yourself suddenly in groups of individual with humanitarian principles linked to the meeting.  Your social life is subject to change and alterations, and you may meet some very unique, even eccentric, individuals during this conjunction that will alter the course of your life, or at the very least, attempt to do so. 

It is important that you do not try to disrupt the influence of Uranus as it makes its way past Venus.  Uranus calls for change and will move quite swiftly and without too much intrusion if you allow its energies to flow.  If you put up great resistance to what requires change in your life, however, the flow of change may not be too enjoyable and its action might be very disruptive.

As mentioned in Part I, Uranus is the awakener and Venus is all about the energy of love, so be open to whatever takes place in your life and accept it with open arms as best you can.  Love is a beautiful thing and can be expressed on many different levels.  Uranus is sure to open doors that have been closed previously and you may now need a new start with a new direction.  Enjoy the new and exciting experiences that unfold in the process.

The action of Uranus is often quite evident and is used as a timing device.  Often the actions are very obvious on the exact day that it becomes direct, unless there are other mitigating factors in the chart.  Uranus is especially strong when it conjuncts particular angles in the chart such as the Ascendant and the Midheaven.  You can expect personal changes including partnership shifts when it conjuncts the Ascendant which is somewhat similar to its aspect to Venus.  You can anticipate career fluctuations and status changes when it conjuncts the Mid-heaven.

Expect the unexpected and be ready for new and unique experiences in your life as Uranus nears its conjunction point.  Place no limits on possibilities entering your life and expect change to take place.  As disruptive as Uranus might be, these transformations (and new found freedom which is often part of what takes place) are all necessary and vital to your overall mental growth and evolutionary acceleration.

Enjoy the ride as you are about to enter uncharted territory.
