From a mystical standpoint, many of us might consider “Let ambition be your guiding force” as earthbound concept.  This may be true but much depends on what you choose to focus your ambitions on. 

If you are on a relentless pursuit to achieving monetary surplus and life is completely based on financial rewards, then yes from an evolutionary point of view you might be viewed as being a little overly focus on earthy obsessions, if spirituality or mysticism is your “wanted” mental objective.  If, however, part of your life’s lessons involve material objectives, who are we to judge these objectives which were chosen by our higher self?  How can we judge others and the path that they take?  Their path has to be their intended lesson in life.

Ambition can be linked to many avenues of achievements. 

We are spiritual beings living an earth-bound life but this is so very temporary.  Our lessons brought on through material and physical living are important to our overall development or we would not be here in the first place.  Allowing and having ambition is part of the process on whatever level we choose to focus.  Allow life to manifest as it should.  Allowing does not mean that we are at the mercy of life.  It is a reflection of our faith in the process.

We can live this life in a spiritual manner with ambitious effort to create that which benefits self and others, whatever that may entails.  We are constantly creating our reality one step at a time.  Why not be ambitious.  Utilize our precious moments without ego interfere.  Strive for the highest of highs.  Never have fear of failure as in reality there is no such thing.

THE MIDLIFE CRISIS - AGES 38-44

Most individuals experience a mid-life turning point at ages 38-44. This is an evolutionary process where we move from early adulthood into a more evolved individual, an individual who should be fairly comfortable with whom they are.  This is a time when we are restructuring our association with ourselves on a more profound level.  A sense of individuality is occurring at a rapid pace, due to the major influences taking place in our lives.  We are experiencing transiting Saturn in trine to its natal position and Neptune in square to its natal position which signifies inner transformations and a realistic approach to who we truly are. 

There may even be a feeling of urgency with our quest in life.  Our ego and the ongoing search for “who am I?” are undergoing alterations especially for those individuals that feel they need answers.  There is no formal training when it comes to what many term as their midlife crisis.  No one can say they are prepared, particularly because no one knows exactly what to expect.  Each individual goes through their own personal experience and then an awakening takes place.  This is a time of great soul searching and a desire for inner change which often coincides with outer change, as one affects and reflects the other.

The body is also undergoing physical changes during this time, and those who have placed too much attention on physical appearance may become depressed with what they are starting to see in the mirror.  Many will go deep within to find out what they actually have to offer, as the appearance has been held in an elevated position most of their lives and now they must look for something with more meaning to feel good about themselves.  The ego is actually in a somewhat delicate state, as the inner self gains supremacy and control, at least for those who are searching for something more.

This is often considered a turning point as we truly begin to question who we  are and relentlessly search for answers.  Many turn to deeper subjects such as astrology and the mystical side of life, furthering their pursuit, hoping to find some answers to some truly profound questions.  This is an awakening stage as many who have been wrapped up in the material world feel empty, and now they want greater meaning in their lives.

Doors that have been boarded up are now beginning to open and a deep restlessness is awakening within.  The search continues and those longing for answers begin to question their existence which opens the channels from within and enables a more intimate contact with the inner self.  The process has begun, as we raise our consciousness and continue on with our mission.

At age 42 we are also experiencing the Uranus opposition with itself.  This intensifies the search and often one reaches for something new to bring to the forefront of life.  Some reach out for radical solutions and this is when people become bored with life and want something that is exciting and exhilarating.  There is a bit of eccentricity entering the personality.  Many find this new individual reaching out in need of satisfaction beyond the normal confines of life, a bit erratic and different.

These life expressions are often received on short notice and one makes untimely changes that will affect those around them.  This is often quite disruptive for family members that are used to life being steady and remaining solid and secure.  Some can leave their marriage partners and start a new life.  In many cases the change is sudden and comes without much warning.  If this time is drawing nearer, we should be ready for change and transformation as this is a very intense period.  Be ready for disruption to the norm and change.  Be prepared to welcome in the new.

ALLOWING PEOPLE THEIR SPACE

We all need time to process what goes on in our lives.  There are times when we experience traumatic events that even those that are very close to us have no concept of what we are experiencing emotionally.  Sometimes we just need time to adjust or to process the information.  There are many good-hearted people that will want to assist us during these times and there will be times when they seem to know the right words to say to plant the most appropriate seeds that assist us through to the other side of our difficult lesson.

If we happen to be that helping hand and truly feel compassion for our friend, our child, our partner or our parent, letting them know that we are there for them might be enough for that particular moment.  Perhaps later on they may be ready for assistance and will ask.  Even when our intensions are good, they are not always wanted and that is perfectly okay.

We all have our built in sensitivity meter and if we read the situation according to what we instinctively feel, we most likely will feel the energy coming at us suggesting that we back off for a little while or we move forward with loving gentleness and a compassionate ear. 

Most of us intuitively know what is appropriate and will be guided if we listen to our inner voice.  This also applies to those individuals who are experiencing the life event.  Follow your instincts and listen to the nudges you receive; then move accordingly.  If you feel space is required, it is perfect time to step back and allow.  Remind them that they are loved and that you are available if and when they need you.

Kindness never fails whether we see the fruit of its labour or not.  Respectfully, follow your instincts and allow your intuition to lead.

SATURN SQUARE NEPTUNE 2016

Transiting Saturn has been squaring transiting Neptune since the early spring of this year (2016) and will continue to remain in this aspect until early November, when it finally moves out of orb of Neptune.  If you have natal planets in and around 10 degrees of any sign (within the orb of 7-17degrees), you will have been experiencing the energies of this transiting square between these two energies.  It would be particularly powerful if you have either a planet or angle in Sagittarius or Pisces, as this would be square one of these transiting planets or conjunct one of them.  If you have both Sagittarius and Pisces influenced in your natal chart, this would be a very powerful combination.

Saturn squaring Neptune tends to stifle the energies of Neptune and at the same time when this transit is finished, it will have built a solid structure in regards to what the energies represent.  Have a look at what houses will be affected to give you further information as to how these energies are unfolding.  Saturn is the great disciplinarian and teacher and will make things move slowly or even completely stop Neptune’s energies.  Neptune has to do with spirituality and psychic inspiration, visions, clairvoyance and other energies along this line.

With Saturn and Neptune squaring one another, you may have found that your pursuit towards psychic endeavours has been held up and stalled, almost as though your resolve is being tested.  If you are psychic, you may find it challenging to read or receive.  We are all psychic in our own ways so you are not alone in these abilities.  Although Saturn is making things a little challenging and you may feel somewhat stagnated or held back.  Its energies are, however, building a solid foundation based on hard work, diligent effort, and an ongoing pursuit of the psychic and mystical practices.   So although you have felt these restrictions, you are building a structure and solidifying your credentials as this time passes.  The rewards will be significant when Saturn releases its hold on progress in this area of life in November.

Another manifestation of this same square is that in a business sense, you may feel as though you are not completely sure of the direction that things are taking you.  It is as though a vail of uncertainty or a fear of failure has been part of the process for this during the square.  Perhaps you are attempting to start a business and somehow things are not fitting as you would like or a cloud of uncertainty seems to be standing in the way of progress.  Neptune tends to cloud matters and makes things very unclear and void of direction when it is in aspect.

Remember to review the houses that are involved in the equation as these areas of life will be highlighted.  Also have a look at the mid-point of these two transiting planets which would be approximately 25 degrees Capricorn.  This degree will be the central focus of these energies and any planets within orb will be highly accentuated and strongly affected by these powerful planetary energies.  Any planet or angle in this degree will be defined by house position, a highly energized area connecting the energies of these two planets.  Midpoints bring into focus one more ingredient into the equation and will be highly focused during this entire period.

Even if you do not have planets in these areas, the same energies are still affecting you but perhaps not in such an intrusive way.  You will still have to work through this and you will also feel a release once this aspect has completed its course.

GUIDELINES IN DELINEATING A PROGRESSED CHART

The progressed chart is another tool available to an Astrologer.  The progressed chart, along with transits and the solar chart (for a year from birthday to birthday) are the three main factors in determining how the energies of the planets will unfold over the coming year.  Advanced Astrologers can also use the midpoints and more in the delineation of events and timing.

The progressed Sun, Midheaven and Ascendant all move approximately one degree of arc each year, as well as all the house cusps.  This varies minutely each year.  The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars all have a three year affect, while the outer planets move much slower and their orb of influence is very tight.  Some Astrologers use a 10-15 minute orb of influence with the outer planets.  Each day of life after birth equals one year of life in a progressed chart, so your chart will have moved a full 30 days forward at age 31.  The first year of life is the first day of life.

The progressed Sun, Midheaven and Ascendant are very significant in the progressed chart, just as they are in the birth or natal chart.  The angular points (MC-Midheaven, ASC-Ascendant, DC-Descendant and IC-Immum Coeli) are activity areas of the astrology chart.  We can call them action points.  These are very important indicators as to when activity will take place.  These angular points become active when a planet is within one degree of being direct to their degree.  However, activity or intensity increases the closer they move to being direct (or at the same degree).

The progressed planets when in conjunct (0 degrees) to one of these angular house cusps will play a significant role that year of life and the energies will mix with the sign on the cusp of the house.  The progressed Moon moves approximately one degree per month and when activated this time is often suggestive of change on some level and/or some emotional interaction.  It can also be used as a timer.  The Moon’s influence would be 3 months, one degree approaching, one degree while direct and one degree while separating.  Each degree equals one month of time.  If, therefore, a planet is at 12 degrees of a sign, the progressed Moon will be active from 11-13 degrees of that sign or in major aspect forming an angle to this placement in the chart.

The progressed chart is very similar when being delineated as the natal chart, but the orb of influence is not as wide, at least in my opinion.  The influence becomes stronger the closer to exact the aspect between the two planets or planets to angular cusps.

Progressions are experiences that are on a more internal level, but they can still activate energies during the lives of individuals on an external level.  In my opinion, the Sun and Moon and angular points are very significant and can affect the individual on an energetic and event oriented manner.

All of the major aspects hold relevance just as they do in the natal chart (Conjunction, Sextile, Square, Trine, Quincunx (although I personally use a smaller orb of influence with the Quincunx) and Opposition.  The minor aspects are also important but again you must use a much smaller orb of influence that the orb used in a natal chart.

You can have the inner progressed planets affecting the natal chart indicating activity or influence, as well as transits influencing the progressed chart.

The progressed chart defines how the individual is developing in life through the movement of the planets forward.  Progressions are a wonderful tool available to define how we are evolving in our personal life.

NEW VIRGO MOON - SEPTEMBER 1, 2016

It is once again time to set the seeds of our intentions (New Moon). 

With the new Moon in Virgo, it is a particularly good time for organizing and planning so that in the future we can put our goals into motion.  Our organizational skills will be rewarded with clarity and understanding if we pay attention to the details.  Be careful not to obsess over the details, however.  Stress is exhausting and the cause of “dis-ease”.

Our need for planning is reiterated by Mercury which is currently in retrograde motion.  Be sure to do your homework before you move forward.  Seeds will not grow if they are not nurtured.

The energies of this New Moon want us to be of service, to be hands on, to heal.  It is a perfect time to put such as Reiki into practice or maybe plan to take a course to learn this ancient art of healing.  It is also a perfect time to be of service to our own human vehicle – our bodies.  Plans for a healthy new beginning would be ideal for seeds to be planted under the Moon in Virgo.

Stay positive for the rewards we reap in life are mirrored by our attitude and the seeds we plant.
