SUN IN SCORPIO, FORECAST 2016 TO 2017, PART I

The Sun moves into the sign of Scorpio on October 23, 2016.

Instead of revisiting the many characteristics associated with Sun in Scorpio, we thought we would take a look at what the outer planets will be doing with the Sun in the Sign of Scorpio for the remainder of 2016 and into the next year.

For the rest of 2016 and much of 2017, Jupiter will be in the sign of Libra.  Jupiter is the planet of good luck and its energies relate to philosophy, religion and spirituality.  Jupiter will be semi-sextile to those with the Sun in Scorpio for the next year.  This suggests the possibility of being in the right place at the right time for these energies to open up for the Sun in Scorpio individual.  This aspect, the semi-sextile, is an opportunity aspect.  Sometimes things fall into your lap and other times you have to act to make these energies work in your favour.  It will be up to the Scorpio individual as to how handle these very fortunate energies.  Hopefully you open up to these vibrations and make them part of your life and use them to your advantage.

Saturn,( the planet of discipline, of challenging conditions and of important learning potential) will be in the sign of Sagittarius between 13 to 25 degrees.  If your Scorpio Sun is within these degrees, you will also have Saturn on the other side of your Sun in semi-sextile. 

The midpoint of the energies of Jupiter and Saturn can reach your Sun from December 2016 to early February of 2017.  During this time, the energies of both planets will highly influence your Sun if your Scorpio sun is around the 20 degree mark.  Jupiter can bring with it opportunities for awareness with spirituality and Saturn can bring stability into this area of life.  Ensure that you use these energies appropriately and take advantage of the opportunity during this time. 

The rest of the time during this period we are focusing on, Saturn will offer opportunities for reaching your goals in life.  You may be the agent of this or life itself may steer you in this direction.  Either way a little effort on your part will go a long way.

Uranus (the planet of freedom and drastic change) is in the sign of Aries and moves from 22-27 degrees during October 2016 through October 2017).  If your Scorpio Sun is in the 15 to 29 degree range, you will be affected by Uranus during this period.  The aspect between the Sun and Uranus is a quincunx suggesting that you may have to do some adapting and adjustments to your life during this time.  This could include your occupation if the Sun or Uranus is in the tenth house, or your relationship if either of these planets are in your seventh house, or the home environment and family if there is a connection to the fourth house. 

No matter where Uranus is located, get ready for change and some disruption in the areas of life affected by your natal Sun and the house or houses Uranus is transiting.  Change is often a bit challenging although Uranus suggests that these changes are necessary.  This adjustment period is something that will need to take place and it is best not to fight the energies at hand.  Go with the flow to make the adjustment much easier.

WITHSTANDING LIFE'S PRESSURES

Life often presents us with challenges that seem to steal our focus and somehow manages to stifle our growth.  We are often confronted with what feels like massive, overwhelming tests that come at us from everywhere.  We are seldom prepared for these events as they come when we least expect.  This is certainly how it can feel and our reactions are not always what we would want in hindsight. 

For some, this seems to be the reoccurring theme in life.  When we are faced with adversity and difficult conditions, we often meet these lessons with opposition.  We sometimes feel as though we are victims of life but are we?  Are we not actually victims of our reaction to life’s events? 

Life is going to happen, with or without our consent.  We can face life head on and use the events to grow and learn from and recognize these events as not part of us and not own them or make them our own or alternatively, we can meet life events with frustration, anger, create a very difficult lesson and then make these events a part of us.  We decide to own them and make them a part of our identity. 

With the latter scenario, how will this ever change something that has already happened?  What is the benefit of the attitude we have decided to have? 

We have a choice on how we deal with adversity.  It is also up to us how long we choose to hang on to the events that have taken place around us.  How much control are you willing to give to these uncontrollable events?

This is not to say that we are unaffected by what takes place even if we do not fight the event.  This does not mean that we are not emotionally affected by life’s events nor does it mean that we are cold or unemotional in any way.  What it does mean is that life happens and we have options in what ways we react.  There are always choices to be made.  We are not at the mercy of these events as many believe.  We are always at the helm of our reactions and our emotions.  We alone dictate how we will allow ourselves to be affected by each and every event in life.

Undesirable event do happen and they are not by choice but we have choices as to how we will allow ourselves to be affected and we make those choices whether those decisions are conscious or not.  If we choose to analyse our decisions and recognize our part in the process, we learn how to adjust to life’s events rather than becoming victims of them.  Being familiar with our past reactions and decision helps us to learn to control the next reaction or decision that we will have to make. 

Learning to listen to the quite inner guide as it will help us through the process and understanding our reactions and taking control can have lasting effects.  These will provide us with the momentum and courage to withstand any pressure that comes from our lessons in life.  Stop, process and then react through controlled decisions.  Stand tall in the face of adversity by recognizing the lesson, seeing it as not yours to own and moving forward with that knowledge.

THE PROGRESSED MOON & ITS SIGNIFICANCE

The progressed Moon moves through an Astrology sign in 2 ½ years at about one degree per month and moves through the entire zodiac at approximately the same rate as Saturn.  As a result the progressed Moon’s return has a profound impact on the Saturn return period.  The progressed Moon makes aspects at varying times throughout the whole chart.  It is in one house for 2 ½ years and will effect each and every planet and angle for a three month period; therefore, its influence is powerful and influential. 

The progressed Moon travelling through the zodiac will be influential when it is within a degree of being direct (at the same degree) with any planet or angle in the chart.  The conjunction, square and opposition are the most marked for change and restlessness, and these can often be relied on to create activity in life.  The conjunction is especially powerful as it intensifies the planetary energies as well as the house placement.  The house placement will be the area of life that will be affected and the planet or point in the chart being activated will be experienced through the energies connected with that particular planetary energy.

When the progressed Moon ties in with the Midheaven it is seldom that the career is not affected as well as the home and family.  When it ties in with the Ascendant, activity often takes place on a very personal level and many people often are addressing relationship influences. 

With the Sun is involved in any contact, it is often the perfect time to take advantage of opportunities to move ahead in your life’s pursuits especially when the progressed Moon is in positive aspect to the Sun. 

The progressed Moon is often used as a timer for events of significance and nearly always suggests that the particular area of life (dictated by house position) will be affected.  Often fluctuations occur.  For example if the progressed Moon makes an aspect to Venus in the second house it is quite possible that your finances will be affected.  With Pluto in the second house making an aspect with the progressed Moon not only are the finances subject to fluctuation but you may experience dynamic changes and these changes that take place often affect you permanently or at the very least have a lasting effect.  Security issues would also be part of the process with the progressed Moon making aspects to planets in the second house.

The progressed Moon is an emotional indicator and if the planet or angle being affected has several stressful aspects to it in the birth chart, you can expect more tumultuous and sensitive conditions than if the planet in question were well aspected.  The birth chart is an indicator of life long challenging conditions or positive influences that will be rectified over time.  Some indicators remain a challenge for many years or indicate that there is work needed in a positive manner for the individual in question each time there is an activation through transit or progression. 

Your natal chart is your signature, and all planet or angle energies, regardless of how challenging the conditions in the birth chart, can be rectified or challenged over time and turned around.  We are not saddled with difficulties on a permanent basis.  The challenging aspects in the natal chart are put in place for us to overcome and gain strength from.  These are valuable lessons.

The progressed Moon does not have the same impact that the natal Moon has unless other major transits or progressions are in effect at the same time.  The angular house cusps also play an important role when aspected by the progressed Moon, as angular house cusps are indicative of action areas of the chart.  These angular house cusps apply to natal placement as well as progressed placements. 

Changing conditions are often very apparent when the progressed Moon activates an angular house cusp.  To clarify, the angular house cusps are the Ascendant, the Midheaven or MC, the fourth house cusp or IC and the seventh house cusp or DC.

The progressed Moon is certainly an emotional indicator.

SIMPLY ALLOW

In life, the choices are many and the road you choose has many sub-paths that can take you to places you were unaware of.  It is not fully a matter of timing and it is not fully a matter of knowing but both of these are part of the process.  Each step, each event, each lesson (good or challenging) are just meant to be.  Allowing the unfolding as it happens makes your experiences much less challenging.

You are in control of each decision.  You do have a voice in what takes place.  We are never at the mercy of life although sometimes it certainly feels that way.  We choose our reactions to each and every event in our lives. 

Acceptance is important...acceptance of what life throws our way.  Acceptance is not surrender.  Far from it.  Set goals; take action and reach those goals but do not fight what has already happened in life.  This you cannot change BUT your attitude towards it....this you have full control over.  We make decisions.  These decisions can make the lessons difficult or they can allow the lessons to flow.  The decision is ours.  We can fight the lessons and make the lesson even more challenging or we can surrender to the lesson; accept and move forward.  Whatever choice we make, the lesson will be learned.  How it is learned is again our choice.  Our attitude if adjusted here and there can make our lives so much more enjoyable.  There is no point in resisting direction unless we truly believe that we have made a turn that will create a more easy experience to learn a specific lesson. 

We have choices which create alternate routes which might serve us in many different ways.  If the sub path you have chosen feels right, simply allow life to unfold.  If life suggests change, allow change.  If life suggests that you continue down the same road, follow that road.  When life dictates and you really have no choice then follow that road.  Be open to all of the synchronicities in life.  Recognize what life is telling you.  Allow the unfolding of the greatest good.  Everything unfolds and the lessons necessary are always learned.  It is your choice if you take the higher road or the lower road.

HOW DO PLANETS ACTIVATE ACTIVITY IN ASTROLOGY

We have received questions on what activates a planetary alignment.  We are going to use Pluto as our example.  Let’s say that Transiting (Current position) Pluto has been in Conjunction with your natal (birth position) Venus for some time now.  Pluto will move very slowly through the heavens.  It can affect your Venus for up to three years and for people very sensitive to the energies of Pluto, it could last as long as five years.  Pluto on Venus suggests transformation in your love life or changes directly related to your finances.  There are other translations but we will stick to these predominate obvious few.

We will not discuss the meaning of Transiting Pluto on Venus in detail.  What we are concentrating on is when this aspect will be enhanced and when to expect activity.  The closer transiting Pluto moves towards being direct in this example, (in other words when it is less than one degree in separation or moving towards the specific degree Venus has in your chart), the stronger it becomes. 

You ask, however, “what actually activates this transit?”  It might become activated when it sits directly on Venus, within 10 minutes or so, but more than likely when Pluto is within range, (so under a half of a degree from Venus’ position), an inner planet will activate this transit.

The inner planets that activate energies or stimulate action are Mars and the Sun (also Uranus, an outer planet, when it is direct).  You can often use Uranus to pinpoint the timing for events within a couple of days.  The progressed Moon also stimulates activity and this takes place the closer it is to being direct.  The progressed Moon has an influence for a period of three months, when in aspect.  The influence from the progress Moon is when it is one degree approaching, one degree while direct and one degree separating.

For example, if Venus is 15 degrees Capricorn in your chart, as Pluto begins to affect Venus, you will notice some activity, at least on a mental level.   When Pluto is about 1 degree or less of being direct, its energies will grow in intensity as it approaches.  If transiting Mars or the transiting Sun is moving towards this 15 degree Capricorn, or in opposition (180 degrees) to this degree or in square (90 degrees) to this degree, it will stimulate activity and bring out the potential of what these energies suggest in your chart.  You will also have to look at which house is being transited by Pluto as well as the house natal Pluto resides in within the birth chart as these will be the areas of life that will be affected by this transit of Pluto to Venus.

The trines (120 degrees) and sextiles (60 degrees) from transiting Sun and Mars will also affect the timing but it may not be as noticeable as the square or opposition and especially by the conjunction (0 degrees).  The conjunction is widely used as a timer in Astrology.  Checking to see when this is activated either from the Sun or Mars will help you to pinpoint the potential for activity.  You may be able to narrow down the time to one or two weeks.  As mentioned, the progressed Moon especially by conjunction will often activate any planet it makes contact with and you can often use this as a tool for pinpointing timing as well.

FULL MOON IN ARIES OCTOBER 16

On Sunday, October 16, 2016, we will experience a Full Moon in the sign of Aries at 23 degrees.  Full Moon cycles are a culmination of our plans or a time to harvest the seeds we planted some six months earlier when the New Moon was in Aries (in this case). 

This October 16 Full Moon (called the Hunter or Harvest Full Moon) is in conjunction with transiting Uranus. 

Aries is a great sign for new beginning, setting projects in motion and moving forward in your objectives.  Whatever you may have begun at the New Moon cycle will now be ripe for harvesting or manifesting.  Pushing yourself forward into new directions and applying yourself vigorously and with intent is suggested.  Regardless of what area of life this may entail (described by the house position in your Astrology chart) now will be a good time to see what your efforts have manifested.

Uranus involved with these energies often suggests that the plans move forward in somewhat unusual methods, often not in the way you might have originally planned them to go.  The end result however will offer the best results, if you have taken the necessary steps for a successful conclusion.  Taking shortcuts and moving quickly may be a tendency with this combination (Aries).  Although this may work in your favour, it is not suggested as you will have a greater chance for success if you carry out each step one by one.

Uranus seeks freedom of action and pushes you in directions that will create further growth on some level.  Uranus acts impulsively as does Aries.  The two of these energies together could manifest almost anything of a progressive nature.  Uranus suggests that anything that now no longer serves a real purpose should be removed and replaced by something that is more beneficial.  Restrictions and challenging conditions will be met head on and dealt with accordingly.  Again, our actions under these influences may be somewhat impulsive and even a bit rebellious in their nature.  Be mindful.

As mentioned, what you set in motion some six months ago will now go through some changing conditions and you can expect the unexpected.  There might be some twists and turns in the process that you were not planning on and the end result might not even look anything like the vision of six months earlier.  Uranus’ desire is to make things happen, that actually need to happen.  Uranus can create an “ending” of sorts which is required so that something new and more suitable can replace the old, outdated ideas and ways.  Uranus’ energies can be suddenness, unexpected and quite unconventional in their approach. 

Be ready for some type of change of direction especially if you have other planetary links or angles in the 23 degree range.  The more links you have, the greater the potential for unexpected and exciting things to materialize. 

Uranus brings change but often these changes are short lived.  If this is the case, you will still be affected in positive ways even if they are abrupt and disruptive.  The purpose of the changes that take place will be more evident as the events unfolding.   Enjoy the ride!  It will be an exciting and an unusual experience.
