TRANSITING URANUS SQUARE NATAL ASCENDANT

Transiting Uranus square the natal Ascendant can affect you in very personal ways.  It quite often involves relationships, your occupation (especially if Uranus is also making an aspect to the MC), your home and family (particularly if Uranus is also making an aspect to your IC).  There may be great challenging condition linked to all or some of these life areas.  Uranus is always about moving out of restrictive conditions in life--anything holding you back and stifling your evolution on some level is subject to changing conditions through Uranus’ influence.

Uranus may also bring people into your life that initially may appear quite different than those you are accustomed to being with and these people may help to facilitate some change that perhaps should have taken place some time ago. 

This square can be quite disruptive when it comes to close personal friendships and especially with your marriage partner.  Some relationships break up all together during this time while those that are built on more solid ground will still go through some needed changes, but remain intact after this transit is over.

This transit could also affect your home environment.  Some individuals with this aspect may redecorate the home, while others may seek a new place to live.  This may cause some problems as things under Uranus’s influence seem to happen quite suddenly and often when least expected.  Old patterns in life which a short while ago seemed quite appropriate are now subject to great scrutiny and also might see great changes.  What once was, no longer seems to suit life’s purpose or seems to be stifling you.  You will see some much needed changes to your life.

Sometimes people come into your life and they are behind these sudden changes that take place.  These individuals may be the spring board that initiate the changes that are necessary, and you may find that sometimes they vanish from your life as quickly as they came into it as they have fulfilled their purpose.  They are the catalyst for change and sometimes without these people coming into our lives we would remain stagnant for longer periods of time and as a result, very little in terms of growth occurs.

Although this aspect can be quite disruptive, it should not be considered negative.  These changes and the need to break free and start anew or change direction is actually just what is needed.  Those that know you well may have trouble figuring out who you are becoming and may not agree with what you are trying to implement into your life.  They may feel that your actions are somewhat rash and impulsive and often things happen without giving anyone notice.  This can be quite upsetting for those that know you as steady and reliable.  There is a new you emerging and those that are not open to that individual may have to find ways to accept what you are becoming. If not, they may find that they are removed from your life, as their companionship now no longer serves any real and viable purpose.

You are more of a free spirit at this time and in many cases after this transit has completed its cycle what you knew as “normal life” no longer exists and a new course has been set in motion.  It may take some time to fully appreciate what has taken place, but the changes that were set in motion during this aspect are usually quite beneficial.  If at all possible, try not to jump into situations and think things out before you make a move.  If life has been dull or you feel stuck and complacent, however, you just might need to make the change that is presenting itself during this aspect.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

The definition of LOVE is the intense feeling of deep affection for another person or living thing.  

There are so many different forms of love…. the love given to a partner, a child, a friend, a stranger in need.  Each and every living being and animal that exists offers an opportunity to express and share love.  

There is also another form of the love.  One that is most often forgotten and yet is quite important; this love is the love for self.

Take a moment and reflect on the wonders of your life with all of its complexities, your friends and the loved ones you are and were so fortunate to share this existence with.  Can we utilize this day set aside for “love” without focusing on material exchange or money spent but by sharing our presences with those that we love.  

We can enhance our life’s experience by showing the love we have for others, without measure.  For the individuals that hold a special place in our heart, why not confirm our affection for them today.  Then take it one step further to allow this sentiment to be expressed each and every day of the year through a special gesture or word. 

Just as important, can we not take this opportunity to spread our love to those we may not know - strangers we meet along our path?  There are many among us that are alone and in need of a loving gesture no matter how small.  Create a ripple effect that is generated by one small gesture or one small action of love. 

Today can be the beginning of an endless expression.  We can regularly do something meaningful for our loved ones without it being a special day.  We can express our love in our own special way on a day that those that we care about would never expect it.  We can become spontaneous and act on that little whim which surfaces from time to time.  These impromptu moments of showing we care are the most special moments.

February 14 is a day celebrated by many lovers but if you were to take the time to read the legends, you may questions why, as the story does not have such a happy ending.

We can celebrate love, romantic or otherwise, every day.  Life itself is a celebration of love and we share this planet with every living thing in existence--even plant’s life thrives when shown love.  The magnificence of this life carries with it the sharing of love in many shapes and forms.  We simply need to open up to the beauty and love that is generated around us and within us, each and every day!

As we reach out today, take time to reflect on the love that surrounds us and then on what we can do to express and be a part of this beautiful and natural process.  Love each other without exception.  Give special thanks for the love that envelops you.  Never lose sight of the importance and deep ingrained meaning that life provides.  Release the love that grows from within.  It will be returned tenfold.  Why not nurture this natural process of love and allow it to grow, first from within and then to overflow.

TRANSITING URANUS CONJUNCT NATAL SATURN

The transit of Uranus to Saturn can push us to review some of the structures that have been built up over time.  This aspect will make you re-evaluate conditions and decide what should be left as is with only minor changes, and what needs to be replaced or even pushed aside.  This can be very tough because, as creatures of habit, we like safe and comfortable conditions in life.  Uranus arrives to change these things and pushes us in new directions which eventually will provide greater freedom and more room to simply be yourselves.

The release of these energies can be quite disruptive and often unexpected.  In many cases you will not be prepared for these events and the stress and tension may be difficult to handle.  The stress and any tension that seems to stay with you is as a result of your not allowing the needed changes to happen.  Fighting what needs to change is futile and the less you attempt to challenge these conditions (allow them to develop as they need to) the more smooth things will go, especially on you emotionally.

Saturn represents structures in life that have been built up over time that provide you with a sense of comfort, but these structures have been put in place to make you feel safe.  These structures may now be standing in the way of progress and they are no longer serving any viable purpose except that they bring you comfort.  You have probably been reviewing these things for some time now and a part of you recognizes the need for change and another part is frightened by this idea.  Things that are now considered stale will be re-evaluated and are subject to great change.  There may be feelings or issues that relate to freedom and the ability to actually become that persona you are evolving into.  Something needs to happen in order for you to change from caterpillar to butterfly and the energies of Saturn stand in the way.

This can be a very volatile time in your life.  This may affect your relationships with others, your marital status, your occupation and many other aspects of your life.  You know that life needs change and now will be the time.  These changes may come about in unusual ways and during times when you are least expecting them.  They may be very sudden in their nature and because of this you may not have a lot of time to become accustomed to what is taking place.  Let go and do not fight the process.  Acknowledge to yourself that these changes are necessary.  Deep down inside you know some action is required.  If this is a more gentle transition, you will just have to make mental adjustments and minor changes, but be sure to move forward, as over time you will realize, even if just subconsciously, that the changes at hand are exactly what you will need in the near future.

LUNAR ECLIPSE/FULL SNOW MOON IN LEO, FEBRUARY 10/11, 2017

The Penumbral* Lunar Eclipse will begin at 5:34 p.m. EST today, February 10, 2017, and be at its maximum at 7:43 p.m. EST. 

With an eclipse there is always a full moon.  A Full Moon defines the culmination of efforts that we have made towards our focused objectives.  We reap the fruits of our labours and collect what is rightfully ours.  If we put forth the appropriate effort, we can achieve considerably during this cycle. 

As mentioned during this Full Snow Moon, there will be a penumbral lunar eclipse.  An eclipse will have a lasting effect on us for as many months as the eclipse lasts in hours.  So if it lasts 3 ½ hours, its energies will affect us for 3 ½ months.

This eclipse will be in the sign of Leo at 22 degrees.  Any planets or angles in your birth chart that are close to this degree will also be affected.  This eclipse will bring to the surface our leadership abilities and at the same time enhance our caring nature.  We will want to nurture others during this time.  Some might consider our honest and forthright approach as a result of this full moon/eclipse influence as “tough love”.  This lunar cycle actually works to make you strong and whether this comes from internal sources or from someone else, you may not always like what you hear, but the energies are there to make you stand up for yourself in the face of adversity, if need be.

You may want a certain amount of control over life’s situations, especially if you have Pluto or Saturn in or close to the same degree.  Watch for a strong ego drive if power is what you search for.  Power should be directed outward where you can help others.  Your own needs, although important, might have to go by the wayside as caring for others is part of this process.  Do not look for ego fulfillment either and do not ask for anything in return.  Flow with the energies at hand.

Uranus is also in trine to this configuration which could bring out the inventive side of our nature or events.  You might discover parts of yourself that was previously hidden and although these characteristics could be considered somewhat eccentric, nonetheless they are viable character traits that might serve a real purpose right now.  You may find that you go in new directions and try to cut off those that tend to hinder your progress.  Breaking free of restrictions is part of the process and beginning anew is in your sights.  Watch for becoming overly rebellious and too unconventional in your own personal beliefs. You may not be fully understood by others and your visions may be futuristic. 

Jupiter is also part of the unfolding process and is in sextile to this configuration.  This adds potential to the overall conditions and offers some luck in achieving your goals.  Make sure that your focus is selfless in nature and that the outcome of this focus will affect the many and not just the few. 

Jupiter offers expansion and highlights growth on many levels, especially where religious doctrines are found or when spirituality is what you are looking for.

IF IT IS NOT YOURS, DO NOT OWN IT

It can be very difficult when you see anyone going through a difficult if not debilitating experience.  We each seem to have these moments.  It certainly is wonderful knowing that there are those around us that will always be of assistance when we are in need.  At times, when we lose our focus, life can sometimes seem very unfair and it is easy to get swept away by these circumstances when we allow ego to lead the way.  There are times when we feel we cannot come up with the needed answers and an inkling of relief seems very distant.

If you find yourself assisting someone through one of these tumultuous life events, remember not to allow yourself to get caught up in their emotions.  Helping someone does not mean that you own the event.  You cannot be of assistance if you are weighed down by their burden.  Many of us can easily get caught up in other people’s issues because of our compassion and we end up taking on more than just a roll of assisting.

There are some that are so psychically inclined that they allow other people’s issues to become their own, without even knowing it.  They can feel depressed and not understand the root of these feelings.  If you do not understand why you are feeling what you are feeling, the odds are the emotions are yours but the reason they are there is not.  It is important to take inventory of what you are feeling so that you are not carrying around someone else’s baggage.  We are here to reach out to those in need, to offer our help and emotional support and provide an ear or shoulder when needed; however do not make these issues your own.

Allowing someone to unload and to talk is probably one of the greatest gifts you can give.  Be wary of taking sides.  There are always alternative ways of looking at issues.  Affirmative feedback has its place however.

Send love and support and let them carry on with their journey.  We can only assist those who want help.  We have to honour other people’s wishes and opinions even when they differ from our own. 

We will always be friends in need, but we are never meant to carry someone else’s burden.

THE ABSENCE OF SPECIFIC ASPECTS IN THE BIRTH CHART

Planets in the chart represent energies which are released through the houses in which the planets are located.  The houses represent the areas of life that will be affected by this energy. 

When major aspects are missing in the birth chart, minor aspects can help to alleviate the missing energies which would otherwise be available if major aspects were in the chart.  When there are no sextiles or trines in a chart then quintiles, semi-sextiles and even noviles can help overcome these shortages.  When there is a lack of squares or oppositions, the semi-square and in many cases the inconjunct will help to offset this lack of energy.  There will, however, have to be several of these minor aspects to compensate for the major aspects that are missing.

Those that are lacking in conjunctions (which bring emphasis into the area of life the touch) have a challenging time focusing their energies, particularly when they are working on a project.  They have a tendency to become scattered and need a goal or purpose to focus their attention on.  Follow through is very important and this can be a challenge as they may lose interest or be swayed in another direction before completing the task at hand.

Sextiles speaks of opportunities that come into life either through self-initiation or by life seemingly pointing us in the right direction.  They also stimulate mental activity and bring creative forces to the forefront.  With a lack of sextiles, many find that they have to actively pursue intellectual activities and find ways unique to them to communicate these abilities.  Expressing themselves freely through communication will create useful actions that can lead to accomplishments in life.  They need to talk to others in order to recognize opportunities coming into their life.

Squares tend to create difficulties and put stumbling blocks in the way so that we have to push ourselves and in turn, builds strength, endurance and nurture a belief in our own abilities to push through adversity in our lives.  Those that are lacking in squares tend to take the easy path rather than push through hardship for the purpose of growth.  When confronted with crisis, these individuals tend to have a difficult time adjusting or moving through the challenge.  They actually have to push themselves and find ways to overcome the adversity that stands in their way.  In turn when using this approach, they are able to face the challenging conditions that often come our way.

When trines are absent in a chart, these people tend to be faced with a lot of challenging conditions in life and use a lot of energy trying to adjust to these conditions and/or to repair the damage that sometimes occurs.  They use great energy during these periods often leaving them feeling worn out.  They need to go at life a little easier and find ways to relax and go with the flow even when life seems to throw hurtles their way.  Meditation and learning to move through life in a more temperate manner will do wonders for these individuals.

Oppositions always suggest that there are others who have an influence in the equation at hand.  When there is a lack of oppositions in the horoscope, these people are often quite in touch with themselves and they are comfortable meeting their own needs.  Sometimes these individuals become overly self-reliant and need to open the door so that others people have an impact in their learning process.  Expanding their horizons by allowing others to assist in this process will widen their personal scope on most everything in life.  They should welcome a fresh look and a fresh idea.  There are times when others help us develop into ourselves and those lacking Oppositions would benefit from this and not have such a limited perspective on who they think they are.
