SATURN IN RETROGRADE MOTION

Saturn has a 28 year cycle and remains in each zodiac sign about 2 ½ years.  During its stay in these signs it moves into retrograde on a regular basis and about 15 degrees of each astrological sign experiences the retrograde motion of Saturn. 

Saturn went retrograde on April 7, 2017 and will remain retrograde until approximately August 26.  To show the contrast of the energies of a retrograde planet (Jupiter being good luck and expansion) Jupiter’s energy while in retrograde motion works similar to the regular energies of Saturn (restrictive, traditional, the teacher) when it is direct.  Saturn retrograde energies works similar to Jupiter direct motion and as a result, the extreme energies apparent with Saturn in its direct motion, become somewhat softened during it retrograde motion.  Retrograde motion by planets implies that previous experiences or lessons similar may return once again and are now subject to review.  Saturn’s retrograde motion differs however.  Saturn normally deals with past issues and while in retrograde, it can and will open doors to new things that somehow we may feel familiar with, even though they are new to us.

Some Astrologers link Saturn with diseases that have longevity and the duration of their affects is sometimes lengthened under the normal influence of Saturn.  When Saturn is retrograde in motion any recovery process with these ailments may become speeded up and often the individuals that are involved feel more carefree and worry less about these conditions in their lives.  This is beneficial as any concentration can enhance illness and draw even more energy into these areas.  In many cases, disease can stem from adverse reactions to life’s events and it is wise to not allow obstructions or hard lessons to become personal or to own them which in turn can provide us with ease of moving beyond these experiences.

Saturn is often linked to business in some way and during the course of transiting Saturn turning retrograde, it is wise not to enter into any news enterprises or business dealings.  It is best to wait for Saturn to turn direct before moving forward in business related activities, even if you may feel somewhat positive about the outcome.  Saturn is the planet of restraints and constructive organization related to business ventures which includes searching out a new career, entering into a study programme or beginning a new business.  It is often best to wait before taking action for the retrograde motion to have completed its course and Saturn to return to direction motion.

Check to see which house Saturn is transiting in your birth chart as this will provide you with more information and also check to see which house natal (birth) Saturn is occupying.  These houses will be areas of life affected by the retrograde motion of Saturn.  When Saturn is direct in its motion these areas will be avenues you can push ahead in although it is wise to take things slowly as you move forward.  Saturn insists on a solid foundation.

If Saturn is poorly aspected in your birth chart, the house where it is situated may require additional hard work and a conscious effort to resolve any issues related to that area of life.  Since Saturn often points towards a dominant individual in your life (sometimes the most restrictive and strict parent) Saturn retrograde in the birth chart has been associated with that particular individual somehow missing in your life.  The most authoritarian parent could be often away on business or actually missing from your life in early childhood.

Wherever Saturn is found in a chart, whether it is in retrograde motion or direct motion, is often an area of life that requires more work and challenging conditions to overcome.  However it should be pointed out that Saturn is the teacher as well as the disciplinarian in the chart, so it also rewards hard work and diligent efforts.

Our word should hold great value contrary to some people’s opinions.  We should each be accountable for our word.  If we say something, we should truly mean it.  Stand behind whatever you say and if you question your ability to follow through, should you utter those words?    Nothing can replace the respect given to those who are honesty and sincerity.  If we follow these guidelines, we will build immeasurable trust.   It is never too late to express the truth of our intentions.

FULL MOON IN LIBRA, APRIL 11, 2017

We will be having a Full Moon in the sign of Libra at 21 degrees on April 11, 2017. 

A Full Moon is as a result of the moon being located exact opposite or in opposition to the Sun.  A New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are in exact conjunction with one another.  Full Moons are the harvest or the culmination of the events or actions taken when the New Moon occurred in the same sign as the Full Moon is now currently in.  The house and any planets or angles near (within 3-5 degrees) and especially by conjunction will the Full Moon indicate the areas of life (house placement) and energies (planetary influence) that will influence us during the Full Moon.

If for example you have Neptune at 22 degrees in the sign of Libra and in the first house, you will find that the goals you have been working on over the past few months which were connected to self-improvement especially through mystical practices can now be utilized and you can harvest as a result of your efforts.  The sign of Libra would indicate that these energies can be expressed in a more balanced and aligned manner than previously.  These energies will affect close personal relationships as well as any social interactions that you might be involved in.  Other planets and their houses will have their own particular influence on these energies.

Libra’s energies are connected to partnerships, harmony and creating peace in all the surrounds you.  We actually need a harmonious environment when Libra is part of the equation and during this cycle it will involve those people that come into our lives and those that are already part of them.  Libra is a balancing sign, not a balanced sign.  This is the general tone suggested by this Full Moon.  Harmonizing with the energies activated through this lunar cycle, seeking out ways to make life more social and bringing more peace into our lives will be what this Full Moon’s energies is desiring.

Libra’s domain is within close personal relationships and if you have been pursuing a love interest and they are also looking to make contact with you, now might be the perfect timing to make something happen.  Love shines at this time especially if Venus, the fifth house or the seventh house are involved in your chart.  If you have been involved in a relationship that seems to be faltering perhaps now will be the time to pick up the pieces to improve conditions or perhaps it might be time to let go and begin anew.  If you have several planetary influences either by square or in opposition and sometimes in conjunction to this placement, this may very well signal that the end of the relationship at hand.  It is time to move on and open the door to better relationships.  This will be particularly true if Saturn or Pluto are involved through harsh aspects.

TRANSITING JUPITER IN OPPOSITION TO SUN IN ARIES

Transiting Jupiter will be in the sign of Libra beginning at 20 degrees and moving backward, as it is in retrograde.  It will return as low as 13 degree in early June and then it turns direct once again.  It then moves ahead in the sign of Libra until October, when it moves into the sign of Scorpio.  You will have to define when Jupiter will affect your Sun (those with the Sun in Aries), during this time frame.  If you have the Sun between 13 and 20 degrees (give or take a couple of degrees) you will be affected by this transit right into the fall of 2017.  You can give an orb of 8 degrees approaching to 8 degrees separating and you will still be affected during portions of this year and into next year (2018).

Jupiter is the most fortunate planet in Astrology and will work in favourable ways during this time.  Oppositions usually imply that other people will be involved in the process, so opportunities may come from outside sources.  Much will depend on where your Sun is in the birth chart as well as which house Jupiter is transiting through.  These will be areas of life that are being expanded and renewed and optimism may run strong into these areas.

This is a very positive transit and the chances for success and growth in your life are high.  Watch for pushing too much and expanding too quickly although great potential lies ahead.  Jupiter brings with it optimistic ideals and often luck in obtaining benefits.  Go after what you want in life and the chances are that you have a much greater chance of reaching your goals.  Make sure that others will also benefit from your endeavours.  Share your good fortune and build on what comes your way.  Others might pave the way and perhaps all you need to do is move in the right direction, although the harder you work at things the greater the benefits of the outcome.

Jupiter can also be quite spiritual in its nature, and you may find that you pursue religious or spiritual understandings more during this time.  If you have been searching in these areas, doors may open up for you and insight into the meaning of your life might surface. 

Some with this transit may have a desire for travel.  Take someone with you.  Life and its experience are meant to be shared.

WHEN YOU WAKE UP TOMORROW

As soon as you wake in the morning, program your mind to be positive as that which you put in place in the morning follows you throughout the day.  If you get up in the morning expecting a challenging day then that is what you will experience.  What you place your expectations on is what will manifest into your day and over time into your everyday.

If you get up in the morning and start with a thought such as, ”My day is beginning and what a blessing it is going to be.  This is another chance to set things in motion that will bring happiness and contentment to my life” you have started the new day’s journey on a positive expectation.  It may sound absurd but it is a good starting point.  You may experience a few unexpected intrusions during the day but your mind set is programmed to move above and beyond these. 

Negative reactions to life events are ego interference.  We are not our ego and we do not have to listen to its negativity and ignorance.  Let it babble without owning the words.  The key word is “believe” and over time if you are persistent and appreciate all the little things in life, you will experience gratitude in all experiences in life.  Life will be life.  It will never be perfect if we feel it will not be.  Little interferences do not need to hold you back or tie you down.  The choices are yours.  Do you want to be happy or do you want to be frustrated and irritated?

It is beneficial to programme yourself at night as well, just before you go to sleep.  Say a few words of inspiration and review the blessings of the past day.  Give thanks for the day even if it was a tough one, because you recognize that even the most challenging day have much to offer. 

You can also remember your dreams by programming yourself in this same way.  Bit by bit you will start to recall your dreams and they will provide you with assistance through riddles and recognition of where you are in this moment of progress.  Remind yourself of the benefits behind everything and follow through with positive expectations.

It may take some time to get things going, but over time if you are a diligent study, life will change for the positive.  It will begin to get a little easier and you will allow yourself to experience more and more happiness along the way.  You will notice these experiences even in the smallest of ways. 

To re-enforce the changes as they may be gradual, write down the good things that happened to you and let go of the hard lessons unless you can turn them around and find the positive behind what took place (which you can if you look deep enough).  When you can find the positive benefits, write them down too. 

You alone make the decisions of how you will respond to life and each of its events.  Do you want to be happy and filled with gratitude?  Do you want to be upset and feel that life is unfair?  The choice is yours.

APPLYING AND SEPARATING ASPECTS IN THE NATAL CHART

There are many different types of aspects in a Birth or Natal Chart and their movement plays a part in their delineation. 

There are applying aspects (planets moving together to form an aspect), separating aspects (planets moving away from one another) and stationary aspects (planets that have been in retrograde motion and are now motionless before they turn direct or move forward).  Today we are going to review the applying and separating aspects in the Natal Chart.

All planets, whether retrograde or direct in the birth chart, will either be forming an aspect with another planet or separating from aspect to another planet.  The closer to being the exact degree of the aspect the planets or angles are making, the stronger their influence will be in our lives.  There are some planets that at different points in time make no aspects, although this is rare.  If they are not making major aspects (sextile, trine, conjunction, inconjunct, square or opposition) they are very powerful in the natal chart.  We will be discussing this at a later date as well.

Many Astrologers believe that a separating aspect deals with past events, or if you like, finished business.  These aspects show the energies of things that have already been dealt with and will eventually fade over time.  Some Astrologers theorize that the acknowledgement and correction took place before birth and that we have already made adjustments to whatever lesson the two planets involve were teaching through their energies.  The degrees that separate the planets describe how powerful the aspect is or was in the chart.  The closer the degrees between the two planets (direct aspect) the more powerful the lesson.  It is also theorized that perhaps this close aspect was one of the last lessons or events that was set in motion in a previous lifetime. 

Astrologers understand this significance and will define its intensity and help delineate the meaning of any particular influence in the Birth Chart.  When planets are applying, it is understood that the faster moving planet is moving towards the slower moving planet and suggested unfinished business that will have to be rectified during the course of this lifetime.  Once again the closer the aspect, the more apparent and pressing the energies of the planets involved.  We have come into this life to learn, to address the apparent issues indicated and come to terms with whatever the planets’ and aspects’ energies are suggesting.

The applying aspects become stronger as time passes.  They will intensify and push us in directions that will assist in learning whatever the energies suggest.  These conditions are dealt with after birth.  As a result, applying aspects are suggestive of future endeavours that should be dealt with.  Transiting planets (the current movement of the planets compared to the natal position of the planets) that touch on these planetary links can intensify the birth condition and push us towards resolution. 

This is not to say that all aspects between planets are challenging; far from it.  You have to approach the planets involved and decipher how well they work together and what aspects are involved before making a judgement call on how the energies will affect you.  It should also be understood that a tight square or opposition in the birth chart has been set in motion in this life for us to overcome and could therefore be considered challenging but these challenging aspects are advantageous in the long run and force us to make adjustments that in turn enhance development.  Without challenging conditions in the birth chart (and there are charts that are very easy flowing with many trines and sextiles) the life lessons offer little towards growth and achievement in life.  It is the challenging aspects that motivate us forward and challenge us to push for resolution.   

Remember the tighter the aspect the more significant its influence in our lives.  When deciphering a chart it is very important to take this into consideration.  For example a conjunction between Mars and Pluto is a very strong aspect, but if they are separating from one another and are out by 8 degrees, an aspect of let’s say Venus conjunct the Sun, (which is a much softer aspect) which is applying and only out by 23 minutes, will have a far greater influence than the aspect between Mars and Pluto.
