PLUTO RETROGRADE MOTION

Pluto moves in and out of retrograde several times each year.  It remains in retrograde for approximately 150 days a year, often lasting for several months at a time.  It moved into retrograde on April 18, 2017, and remains in retrograde until September 28, 2017.

Transiting Pluto is a powerhouse in the horoscope, and it intensifies in strength when it makes aspects to planets and points within the natal chart or the progressed chart.  The orb for influence in the transit of Pluto should be no more than 2 degrees (0 degrees being direct).  While in progression, it is most significant when it comes within 15 minutes of being direct. 

When Pluto moves into the retrograde motion, it intensifies and becomes very powerful.  The transformational abilities linked to Pluto increase and the regenerative abilities are enhanced.  Any power struggles can also become much more apparent when Pluto is in retrograde, so it is wise to avoid interaction that could lead to intense situations, especially if linked somehow to the planet Mars or Uranus.

It may be very challenging to avoid situations that require change especially when Pluto transits a planet while in retrograde.  It could be considered a time for cleansing and a time to release any wore out or outdated attitudes.  It is as thought you are addressing a list of things to do that was written last year.  Review and remove those items that no longer apply and add more important requirements that are relevant to your life today. 

Pluto while in retrograde will be between 14 and 17 degrees and will affect any planet within its orb of influence and while in transit to natal planets (or positions), this orb is much wider than it is in transit to progressed positions.  The orb of influence is usually 5 degrees approaching a position and 2 degrees separating from a position.

During retrograde motion, it is good times for inner study and digging up of issues that have been buried for too long.  It might not always be pleasant what you initially find but these challenging conditions will need to be confronted and dealt with.  Any patterns in your life that have reached a state of uncontrollable insistence can best be addressed now and dealt with and changed (usually on a permanent basis).

Much depends on which house Pluto is transiting and also the house that Pluto is located in the natal chart as these will be areas of life that will undergo Pluto’s transformative energies.  You may be forced to challenge any issues you dig up and bring to the surface.  An example might be communicative challenges if transiting Pluto is moving through the third house or if natal Pluto resides in this house.  Also you should look to see where Pluto’s ruling sign (Scorpio) is found as this will also indicate where these changing conditions might become apparent.

Those with Pluto retrograde at birth are known to have great recuperative abilities and they can withstand illnesses that might be considered debilitating for many others.  We would suggest that you review how Pluto is aspected in the natal chart.  Also review the aspects linked to the planets that transiting Pluto is making aspects to during its cycle in order to get a feel of how these areas of life along with the energies associated with the planets involved will affect the overall conditions of this very significant transit of Pluto.

In general it is a good time to get in touch with any issues that need dealing with or cleansing.  Review to see what you more inner needs may be.  It is a time for inner reflection and transformation that usually takes a year or two to unfold. 

On an outer level, it is also a good time to begin exercise programs and detoxifying diets that help cleanse the body but do not forget spirit.  Enjoy the rather intense transformation that often takes place as Pluto moves into direct and retrograde motion affecting planetary links and important positions in your birth chart.

SUN IN TAURUS, 2017 FORECAST

This post is written for those people with the Sun in Taurus.  Sun in Taurus is but a portion of the full Astrology chart as we cannot take into consideration the other aspects contained within each individual birth chart.  As a result, this is an overall general review of what the year looks like for someone with a Taurus Sun placement. 

Again, in general, the year looks like a favourable one, especially those with their Sun between 10 to 20 degrees Taurus. 

Transiting Neptune moves between 11 – 13 degrees in the sign of Pisces for the rest of this year.  It will form a sextile to anyone with their Sun between 7 to 17 degrees in Taurus.  This sextile implies that this is the year to make advancements from a spiritual perspective and form a connection with an idealistic view of all that can be obtained on an inner connection with your psyche.  Also, there is a potential to use this developed awareness to leap forward with your personal evolution.  By getting to know you on a spiritual level, you will open doors that assist in your growth and life objectives.  As with any other sextile, it will be up to you to make the adjustments to your life.  This will not just fall into your lap.

On a more material level, this aspect promotes opportunities to gain recognition through growth and change as you align with the goals and aspirations.  The potential for an increase in earnings could be enhanced although the primary concern with this aspect is inner alignment and self-realization. 

Transiting Pluto in Capricorn is in trine for this year which adds to the potential of transformational regeneration.  In turn it will assist in building potential to achieve in the material world.  Those with their Sun between 12 - 23 degrees will be influenced by this aspect while those with their Sun between 9 -19 degrees will be influenced by both this aspect and the aspect with Neptune.  These offer a greater potential to recognize the spiritual insight coming into life and also reaching life objectives connected to growth.

Saturn adds stability and forms a more concrete material base towards the end of the year, particularly for those that have an early degree Sun sign in Taurus.  It will form a trine to your Sun in December of 2017 and 2018.  Saturn will move into the sign of Capricorn and will form a trine for most of 2018 to the Sun for those within the first 10 - 12 degrees of Taurus.  Taurus and Capricorn are both signs related to achievement in physical terms and advancement in earthly matters.  Of course much depends on the overall condition within the birth chart as well as the houses that will be affected during the time frames mentioned.

BUILDING ON THE POSITIVE

Do you find that your outlook in general is positive?  Do you notice a lot of stress and issues that just don’t seem to want to go away of late? 

If you find that life is getting you down and that you seem to be caught up in negativity, perhaps you could refocus your attention.  Paying attention to the challenging conditions in life will only enhance and amplify the experiences. 

It is always a good practice to review how we are feeling.  Examine why we are feeling the way we are (what has happened recently).  Only then can we understand why we are feeling what we are experiencing and then we can make alterations in how you perceive these experiences. 

We may not be able to change events that we have not creating but this does not make us at the mercy of these events.  We have full control over what we perceive our life to be.  Happiness is from within and nothing in life can make you truly happy.  Happiness is a choice. 

Two individuals can attend a wedding.  One can thoroughly enjoy themselves simply sitting back and watching the festivities.  The second, experiencing exactly the same events as the first individual and sitting back and watching, could have a miserable experience.   Why?  The two same experiences are experienced on both ends of the spectrum simply because of the different attitudes by the two individuals towards sitting back and watching.

Pay heed to your reactions.  Alter anything that does not go along with the calm you seek.  Meditate on creating a centre where you feel at peace regardless of what befalls you.  You have always had this ability and now it is up to you to channel things in such a way that you prefer happiness and contentment.  Do not get caught up on anything that is less than satisfying.

JUPITER RETROGRADE

Jupiter’s energy is connected to good luck, prosperity and expansion.  Wherever it is located in the birth chart the potential for good luck and growth is often amplified.

When Jupiter moves into its retrograde cycle, this motion can last 120 days and move backwards up to 20 degrees; therefore, its influence is widespread and lasting.  Much of Jupiter’s influence depends on the aspects it makes to other influences in the natal chart and when it is in transit much will depend on the angle it makes to the planets it will be touching.

As mentioned, Jupiter brings with it good fortune and opportunities for expansion when in direction motion.  When it is in retrograde motion, these energies do slow down and these energies can even be denied but it does facilitate faith and levelheadedness.  It offers an ability to succeed even under these conditions.

Jupiter direct is highlighted by splendour and potential and when it goes retrograde we appreciates all the festivities or opportunities that come along but there is a modest quality that is often not found when Jupiter is direct.

From February 6, 2017 to June 9, 2017, Jupiter will be in its retrograde cycle for this year.  It will be stationary for about 2-4 days as each cycle begins (retrograde/direct) and this is when the energies are the strongest.  When it is retrograde, any business and/or opportunity that you have been pursuing might move a lot slower than when Jupiter was direct.  It may even cease or become none existent during Jupiter’s retrograde cycle but in some cases can be renewed with greater vigor when its motion returns to direct.  We should go through a time of re-appraising and review so as to ensure that we know what can be done to save the endeavour when the direct cycle returns.

You may find that when Jupiter is direct your freewheeling and spending is exaggerated.  You may feel more comfortable spending your hard earned money and when it is in its retrograde cycle, you may be more thrifty and careful in these areas.  In some ways, Jupiter retrograde takes on similar qualities as Saturn, in that it may restrict, delay and obstruct what you may be trying to accomplish. It makes you work hard for good results, but diligence pays off.

ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT THE FUTURE?

With all of the reports of uncertainty in the world, it is no wonder that people allow themselves to become unsure and stressed.  The political situations, wars, financial instabilities can weigh heavy on many minds.  We are living in a traumatic time if we allow stress and worry to take over.  Reading the headlines and listening to the fear mongering reported daily only serves to heighten anxiety.

Would we be better off focusing our attention to the more immediate, intimate and direct matters in our lives? 

Our spiritual connection can bring us much more comfort.  Relying on and focusing on positive affirmations certainly can help.  Remember that what we focus on simply bring more of the same.  Paying attention to our mind’s focus and redirecting it to more positive focuses will, over time, change our attitude and general feeling of wellbeing.  We all play a part and no one is insignificant or incapable of making the changes that are needed.

Never doubt the higher forces at work in our lives.  We are part of an ever changing existence and each individual part forms a whole for the world’s evolution. 

What will be, will be, with or without our consent.  Our attitude towards these events is what can change who we are and what the world is.  Hold true to your heart.  Stay strong and positive.  We are not at the mercy of events although sometimes these events affect us dramatically.  We always have a course of action to take with what goes on around us.  The unfolding of our reaction and action is always in our hands.

Fear only breeds more fear.  Anger only breeds more anger.  Love however can tear down any barrier.  Believe in positive outcomes and above all else have faith in the powers of positive thinking.  Let go of potential outcomes and expectations.  Live in gratitude for the calm days and the challenging lessons, for they are forming you into who you are intended to be.

ARE THERE ASTROLOGICAL SUN SIGNS THAT ARE MORE EVOLVED?

We have observed that there is a general misconception about the evolutionary state of the astrological signs.  We have received inquiries as to which one sign is more evolved than the rest?  We have also been questioned if our spiritual self/soul follows any astrological pattern with respect to the astrological sign which we will be born under in any given incarnation?

In this Astrologer’s personal opinion (and I welcome input from any other astrologers) that there is no particular sign that is highest on the evolutionary path.  This is not to say that an evolved Pisces or Sagittarius or even Aquarius might not seem more evolved during this incarnation from (lets say) an unevolved Scorpio, or ego oriented Aries.  As suggested by this statement, each sign carries with it a wide range of characteristics on what might be thought of as an evolutionary scale.  An evolved Aries could easily surpass an unevolved or evolved Pisces if the primary focus is on an evolutionary growth.  All Astrological signs have highly developed personality traits associated with them and all signs have character traits that we can term as falling quite short of evolved qualities.

I believe that we come into this life with a particular purpose and the North Node, our Sun Sign and Ascendant play a significant role in describing this particular path.  The energies associated with the other planetary positions add to this process and aid us in our evolutionary quest.  Each individual has chosen a path found within the planetary energies to provide tools available to fulfil the soul’s advancement.

 

The soul may choose to come back in what appears to be a state which completely lacks evolutionary progress.  This specific incarnation may appear to be at a somewhat primary stage in the eyes of those that interact with the individual.   This does not mean that they are unevolved in any real sense in the overall picture.  It only appears as though they are lacking higher understanding in this life.  Through human eyes, we see but a glimpse of the overall picture.

There are also those that appear evolved in their current quest and are doing their part to influence many in their evolution but these individuals on a soul level may be less evolved than the previous individual just discussed.  As human beings we do not understand this process or what our evolution truly is.  We have preconceived notions.  Who are we to judge?  To what benefit is our judgement of this anyway?

It is believed by this Astrologer that those individuals that have truly found love and live life through love and compassion are the truly evolved ones.  These individuals have something truly significant to offer.  Each and every one of us has our own individual gifts which we are meant to share with others.  What I lack, you may be able to teach me through example and what you lack, I may be able to teach you through example.  We are all evolved souls on some level. 

There are many stages of evolution within each sign and many stages of understanding or lack thereof.  It is my personal belief that evolved souls have come back at this time to help with the transition taking place in our world.  There is much work to be done and they know they can assist at this time while visiting this material world.

I surmise that on some level, we are all participating in this process.  Could we be here to help others find their true selves as we strive to evolve ourselves?  Are we here to guide others through example and through our only constant—love? 

Is there an evolved astrological sign of the zodiac?  I will leave that for you to decide!

For now it is important to recognize our own particular design and course in the incarnation.  I believe it is important to continue to move in the directions that will assist our own evolution as well as the evolving story of all living things.
