THE END RESULT

After a life of many gains and many losses and you are lying on your death bed, what do you think your last thoughts will be? 

Which of your accomplishments will still hold significance?  Will you be focused on your accomplishments?  As you draw your last breath, what will matter most?

Many individuals strive throughout their lives to attain material gains, to achieve, to be recognized, to gain acknowledgement and approval.  Will your achievements from a material point of view really matter in the end?  Does a rich individual carry forward any type of wealth from a life of material gain?  What is their legacy? 

What do you want your legacy to be? 

How do you want to be remembered?

All material goals at some point have to be left behind.  What then is the true purpose of material goals? 

If we live long enough to retire, anything that was significant and had meaning in our working world is also left behind.  What we did, the authority that we had is fleeting upon retirement.  Our accomplishments may be remembered by some but the person is soon forgotten.  We may have created change within the business that will serve those that follow up in a very beneficial way but we personally as an individual will never be known to those that come after us.  Is this important?

TRANSITING JUPITER CONJUNCT NATAL VENUS

Jupiter is known as the great benefactor and often bestows good luck, good fortune and expansion into everything it touches.  When connected to the planet Venus the planet of love and romance, it often brings good fortune into this area of life.  It offers a peaceful time and you may find that your lover or your friend brings out the best in you.  You feel comfortable and your mannerisms are gentle and very loving.

If you are in a new relationship, this could be when the relationship will grow to new depths and this aspect will offer not only love and excitement but also enough space so that you can make a choice as to when you want to be together and when you prefer to be by yourself.  In a new relationship which may have a lot to offer, you may find that you want to spend more time together however you probably will not feel tied down.  You find that you both give the other enough space and freedom to be yourselves, especially if Uranus is somehow connected to this conjunction.

This is a great time for social gathering and you may find that you wish to share your life with more people during this aspect.  Party going in wide open spaces may be very appealing especially when connected to nature. 

Watch for becoming too lavish as Jupiter has no boundaries.  Also watch for overspending as when this transit is finished, you may find that you went overboard.  You may also be tempted to travel to lush and beautiful surroundings at this time.  Foreign culture may be very exciting to you and you may even meet someone while abroad.

Self-indulgence on some level is likely. Be careful not to overdo things.  Many will gain weight during this time as food seems very tasty.  As you can see, you will enjoy life on many levels.  You want to be around beauty and anything gruff and abrasive does not suit you during this time.  Move away from these.  You are meant to enjoy yourself and share your life with those that matter to you most.

SUN IN GEMINI CHARACTERISTICS

The Sun moves into the sign of Gemini on May 21, 2017.

The following characteristics can be applied to those with their Sun in Gemini as well as those with Gemini as their Rising Sign.  Although the rest of the chart can modify these natal characteristics, the Sun is generally representative of inner traits which may be reflected outward to some extent.  The rising sign is indicative of character traits that are visible to everyone and always outwardly expressed.  The rising sign is your outward expression…the face you show to the world.  The Sun sign characteristics, although they carry the same tendencies, can be modified by the rising sign. 

Someone with a weak Capricorn Sun (not implying that all Capricorn Sun placements are less strong as they are not) and a powerful influence of Leo (lets say five planets especially connecting some inner planets in Leo or a conglomeration of planets in the fifth house) will show the dominant Leo tendencies much more than the Capricorn Sun which would be diluted in this case.

Gemini individuals are talkative, expressive, enthusiastic and very restless.  They need constant stimulation especially stimulation linked to learning, such as reading materials.  They have many interests and are usually self educated to an extent on subjects of interest.  They may tend to skit along the surface of many subjects and they do not go overly deep on any one given subject.

These individuals love variety, and change is almost a prerequisite to their happiness.  They will avoid anything that they consider boring and although sensitive and sympathetic to others, they can release themselves from influences of what they term negativity.  They will have to watch from taking on other people’s problems.  They must learn over time how to separate themselves from adversity.  Running away from challenge is not advised, although it may appear to be the easy route.  They have great analytical abilities and can challenge any problem rather than run from them.  This is a very intellectual placement and the thinking process is quick although indecisive at times.

The ruling planet is Mercury which is closely tied to the mind and communication.  Teaching, writing and communication such as public speaking would be right up a Gemini’s alley.  They need intellectual stimulus to be happy.  Watch for a tendency for idle chatter, gossip and jumping from one subject to another.  These individuals must learn to focus and bring to life what they are thinking and then share these thoughts with others as this will add to their intellectual connections.  They must accept the lesson to listen whole-heartedly and to allow their thoughts to run deep.  There is much insight available if they choose to follow these guidelines. 

Some key words that apply to Gemini individuals are skillful, nimble, able, cleaver and dexterous, as well as scattered, adaptable, changeable and versatile.

THOSE THAT ARE IN NEED

For many of us, part of our life’s mission is to learn to assist particularly those who are vulnerable or are in need of help.  What does it cost willingly lend a hand to anyone that needs our assistance? 

Our assistance could benefit many from the less fortunate such as the homeless we chance to meet, an elderly person trying to maneuver their way with a heavy load, a young individual struggling with an unforeseen illness or even an individual who stood by while you were struggling and never raised a hand to help.

There are no boundaries when someone is in need and regardless of who they are and their lot in life we can happily lend a helping hand.  Those with extra time on their hands might find volunteering their services as an appropriate avenue of expression.  Some individuals that are in the healing professions have volunteered in nations far less privileged than ours.  Even when we are offering a gentle guiding voice and reassurance, we are using our abilities.  Assistance does not have to be something over the top.

We all have our gifts yet most of us still have to learn how to utilize them and recognize them for what they are. 

Do not compare what you can do to others.  We all have our special part.  There are always ample opportunities to reach out and touch someone in whatever way we can. 

Each of us is born into specific conditions and these conditions we have no control over.  Do not judge others. 

We all have a part to play.  Why would we want to waste the opportunities that fall into our laps?  We can all utilize what is available to us including being that guiding light for those that currently walk in the dark.

TRANSITING PLANETS APPLYING AND SEPARATING

We recently touched on planets and their effects when they are applying and separating in the natal chart. http://www.holmastrology.com/apps/blog/show/44468312-applying-and-separating-aspects-in-the-natal-chart  Due to the number of inquiries we received on this topic, we are expanding on that post to include transiting planets.

When two planets are beginning to form an aspect, regardless of the type of aspect, this is termed an applying aspect.  When the angle between the two planets is beginning to detach from one another or move apart this is known as a separating aspect.  The fastest moving planet (the planet closest to the Sun) is the planets considered to be approaching or applying the other planet.  For example Mars and Saturn coming together to form an aspect; Mars will be the faster moving planet.  Another example would be Venus and Pluto; Venus would be the faster moving planet.  Retrograde motion depending on which planets are involved can change this. 

When a planet is approaching or applying another planet, we begin to intuitively feel the energies and may feel that something is about to take place.  This could something quite exciting taking hold or there could be the feeling that things are about to fall apart; much depends on the planetary energies as well as the aspect that is being formed.  The faster moving planet is always the one that is stirring things up, the feeling that something is about to happen or the feeling that you should make a move on something. 

The slower moving planet’s energies produce the lesson or could be considered the planet that is shaping the experience at hand.  If for example Mars and Pluto are moving into opposition with one another, Mars will be stirring up feelings that something may happen in regards to sexual expression, even a feeling of danger, or action of some type, while Pluto will be saying that a transformation is about to take hold.  Prepare yourself for some disruption or potential irreversible change.  Your inner being may be challenged to make changes.  Because of the opposition this may stem from someone else rather than you initiating these changes.

The energies of the planets involved begin to intensify as they come closer to being at the same degree, and the heightened sensitivity becomes more apparent.  As they begin to move apart the feeling associated with what took place begin to dissipate and you may feel relieved that the situation is now passing or rejoice in what took place. 

There is a sense of excitement which may deal with many areas of life, as the aspect tightens to become exact (this is when the two planets are in exactly the same degree) 

In a natal chart, the transiting (current position) planet will always be the one moving towards the natal (position at birth) position, as the natal planet does not move from its original position at birth.  Take into consideration the planet’s positions in your natal chart.  The transiting planet making the aspect to the natal planetary placement will define the areas of life involved in the process.  As they separate, things will settle and you should have made adjustments to what took place.  The energies of the planets involved can be felt as much as 5-7 degrees approaching and will be finalized about 2-3 degrees beyond (separating) the exact degree.  The exact degree with most planets will be when the experience’s energies are at their heightened point.
