TRANSITING MERCURY CONJUNCT NATAL SUN

On September 11, 2017, transiting Mercury will move into the sign of Virgo making a conjunction to the Sun for those born under the Sun sign of Virgo.  Transiting Mercury moves rather quickly through the Zodiac and it will not be going into retrograde motion throughout its journey through Virgo this year.  It moves into Libra on October 1, 2017 (moving approximately 1 ½ degrees each day).

 

Mercury is a very neutral planet and actually needs stimulation to become activated.  Once active, it operates mainly on a mental level through acts of communication either through the written word or in conversation.  It helps us when making important decisions and is associated with signing agreements.   Mercury also has to do with everyday activities, and in general, how the mind relates to stimuli as well as how we express ourselves, verbally.

It is important to take into consideration other planets which either are transiting through the houses making connections to our Sun and/or natal Mercury and which angles they are making.  As mentioned, Mercury is a neutral planet and will take up energies of any planet that it is touched by aspect.  Also Mercury will take on the energies of a transit attached to your natal Mercury’s position in the birth chart.  These are examples of how Mercury will become activated and how it shares its energies.

Getting back to the current Mercury conjunction with the Sun, in general, it is favourable unless there are other mitigating aspects that are also defining its position in the birth chart.  If you have favourable aspects linked to this conjunction, you are able to effectively communicate your ideas clearly to others.  If Neptune is involved in the equation, you may not be as clearly definable as you would be if it were not connected to Neptune. 

With this aspect, your mental alertness is on track and you express yourself quite well.  You also will have the ability to listen with clarity about what other people are expressing.  The communication channels are open and dialogue is concise and clear.  All forms of communication are enhanced during the aspect.  

Mercury is also connected to learning and reading.  You may want to take up a specific study at this time. 

You may have to watch for over-analysing during this aspect.  Remind yourself that nothing is perfect in its nature and you may have to settle with something less than perfect or at least what you might consider perfect. 

Your analytical abilities are enhanced and although everything has to be in its proper place, you have the ability to rationalize situations and come up with viable conclusions during this 20 day period.

If Jupiter is somehow connected, higher learning during this aspect would be an area worth pursuing.  Even if Jupiter is square to your Mercury, you can still work through any obstacles and make decisions based on a broader view of the information at hand. 

Watch for becoming too nit-picky during this apsect and finding all the little flaws in anything life sends your way.  You can be too discriminating with this influence.

 

If Pluto is part of the picture, fact finding would be right up your alley and deciphering material to its bare components might be an avenue worth pursuing.  Pluto tends to dig to the core of issues and when involved in any form of study, investigative work would be favourable. 

If Mercury is connected positively to the Midheaven, this could be a time when you can express your ideas clearly and define what you can do to help out situations within the occupation. 

You should check which houses Mercury rules in your natal chart as well as the aspects coming from the chart for more detailed information.  It is important to understand that even if Mercury is aspected poorly in your natal chart, over time you should have taken action (as this is part of your life lesson) to alleviate these conditions as you learn to work with your Natal Mercury, its energies and all of its components.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Have you ever pondered the dynamics of your relationships with acquaintances as well as your relationships with close family members?  How do these relationships fit into your life?

As we age, we more than likely have come to terms with friends coming and going throughout life.  Why did you or your friends move on?  What did you learn from these relationships and what was shared that made that connection important at the time? 

Long lasting, close, childhood friends certainly play an important role in our lives.  Besides the comradeship and exciting experiences shared, these friends always seem to know just what to say in times of stress or during the questioning stages that we all go through.  Have they been brought into our lives for specific reasons?  If we dig deep enough, we will uncover some of the true reasons for their valued connection.

Over time some of these relationships will fade for whatever reasons.  Some even leave us unexpectedly.  They have served their purposes.  We gain some type of insight from each one of these relationship and carry forward a part of who they were with us throughout our life’s journey.

With those that have stayed with us throughout the years (even if many miles physically separate us) we grow together.  Are these souls that we have shared previous incarnations with?  Pay special attention to these individuals; they undoubtedly have something specific to teach us.

Not all family members share their lives with each other but those that stay close also have a special role to play.  Again have we shared previous incarnations with them as well?  We may have shared many lives together.  It does not mean that we have a perfect relationship or that we always see eye to eye.  There will be times, however, when they say things that we need to hear.  We learn from them and they from us.

Again, it is not always under pleasant conditions that we are joined, but sometimes the hardest lessons come through these channels.  We learn to adapt to these people and love them just the way they are. 

In most cases, our loved ones are special and we share much of our lives and could not image living without them. 

Count your blessings each day and pay attention to your close acquaintances and family members.  It is interesting trying to figure out just what their purpose is in your life and maybe it is not ours to know.  When and if you do realize their purpose, you may be pleasantly surprised.  With this knowledge can also com a new understanding and appreciation for the relationship that you share.  These can be your life mates.  Enjoy the company!

FULL MOON IN PISCES, SEPTEMBER 6, 2017

The Full Corn Moon will be in the sign of Pisces on September 6, 2017.  Normally the full moon in September is also called the Harvest Moon but because it occurs so early in the month, the October, 2017 full moon which will occur on October 5 is called the harvest moon (closer to the equinox).  The light from the Harvest moon is quite beneficial to the farmers to help them see during their long nights harvesting. 

This month’s Pisces Full Moon is conjunction Neptune which rules Pisces.  Image all of the spiritual and psychic influences that will have the opportunity to surface as a result of this Neptune and Pisces connection.

Remember that the main focus of the Full Moon’s energies is to reap what we have had sown during the New Moon phase of the same sign.  This now is a time of harvest and the concentrated energies we have been putting into our psychic development and spirituality now have the potential to be unleashed.

You can rely on your gut instinct, particularly if you have trines or sextiles adjoining this conjunction of Neptune and the Moon.  This Full Moon is at 14 degrees Pisces and Neptune although in its retrograde cycle is almost at 13 degrees.  As a result this conjunction is considered very tight.  If for example you have other planetary energies linked to the 14 degree mark that are more challenging such as a square or opposition there may be some confusion in these areas and things may not be as clear if you did not have these challenging aspects.  Before you through in the towel, however, make sure that you talk to others about your perceived ideas.  They may certainly have a clearer perspective than you might have right now under this influence.

The Moon in Pisces is very sensitive to psychic influences and is wide open to these energies during this cycle.  The door is open and inspiration can be deep and profound.  Your intuition is enhanced and sometimes you just seem to know things without being told.  You feel the truth from a deep and reliable source.

Mercury will also finally went direct yesterday (September 5, 2017).  Mercury has been in its retrograde cycle since August 13.  When in direct motion, Mercury allows the energies to flow and things to happen without obstruction.  It would be a good time to take up inspirational, mystical courses, religious training or any training related to meditation (even though this is not a New Moon which as you know is the time to begin things).  You can never go wrong when starting inspirational courses that lead to self-understanding, self-realization and courses that open channels to the inner realms.

If by chance you have fallen in love of late and you are head over heels with this special person, make sure that you are not placing that individual on a pedestal.  See them on a realistic level and do not allow yourself to be led astray by the highly emotional and exciting vibrations of this new relationship.  We say this as Venus is part of the equation at this time as well.  Venus is at 13 degrees Leo and Leo rules the heart.  Venus will be in quincunx to this Full Moon and Neptune conjunction.  Quincunx’s energies in this case often speak of making alterations and adjustments to a young woman in your life, or your love.  Use your intellect as well as your heart to view the bond and energies between the two of you.

This can be an enlightening period regardless of aspects in the natal chart.  However, check to see the house which is being affected by this Full Moon and Neptune.  This will be the area of life being energized for you in particular.  Also have a look at other aspects to this Full Moon position within the natal chart.  The houses will also provide you with information as to what to expect and which areas of life are involved.  If there are many planets in the natal chart within this 14 degree mark, you can expect an eventful period.

WHAT GROUNDWORK HAVE YOU LAID?

In our last “Food for Thought” post on August 31, 2017, we talked about our part in the ongoing life conditions that surround us all.  Today we thought we would take a look at our commitment to ourselves and following the groundwork that we have put in place as we proceed with creating a better living environment.

At our fingertips, we have a wonderful accumulation of knowledge that we may have brought with us from previous lives, that we have gathered in this life and that others walking this journey with us have shared.

Some of us have been blessed with psychic abilities and special talents.  Some of us have learned special skills through life studies that we share during this unified journey.  We all have gifts but these are not gifts unless they are shared, through acts of compassion, through acts of love and the need and want to share.  Each one of us plays an integral part in the process.  We all have talents; some may be latent and are yet to be revealed to us.  Others talents are quite obvious.  Do not squander these talents.  It is necessary to be of service during this life and we all have and need a purpose.

Could your most important purpose be to bring peace and happiness to our world?  What do you feel your purpose is?

We recognize that it is essential to live in the moment.  We understand that we build our future by our vibration and focus, and we know that thoughts create reality over time.  We understand that to stay positive and productive we cannot allow ego to be part of the equation.  We understand that it is essential to quiet the chatter of the earthly mind through meditation.  When we release ego and expectations, we can feel the shift within.  When the shift takes place within, the energies have to boil over and flow out into our surroundings.  Their expansion cannot be contained within nor are they meant to be hoarded. 

Many of us have been on this path for a long time.  Many others are now joining in.  Never give up or give in.  Strive for peace and let love be your guide.  Keep sharing, reading, experiencing.  Let your light shine.

TRANSITING PLUTO TRINE SUN IN VIRGO

Transiting Pluto is currently in the sign of Capricorn, and because of its slow movement, it will remain in trine to many of those with their Sun in Virgo for many years (depending on the degree of their Sun).  Pluto moves about one degree each year and its influence is deep and often its effects are very profound.  Pluto’s energy brings about transformation as it pushes issues to the surface that need to be dealt with.  When in line with the Sun, its energy speaks in terms of inner qualities that you may have kept hidden or decided for one reason or another not to deal with over time.  Now is the time when these inner issues may surface and insist on being faced.

Since the aspect between the Sun and Pluto is a trine, the opportunity for releasing these ideologies or issues and making concrete and significant alterations can be profound.  The energies that are present will be favourable and you can now, after releasing any unwanted emotions or issues, express yourself in a more constructive manner.  There is great power in the transformations taking place in your life and can also be used for personal development.  Your evolution will be strongly influenced by what you do with your life during this aspect.  Your personal insight is also enhanced and any changes you make on a personal level can be quite favourable.

Since the Sun reflects your goals in life and your aspirations, now is the time to move towards any objectives that you might have in mind, particularly if you have been pondering them for some time.  The timing may not have been right in the past but it is right now.  Have a look at other influences in your chart to ensure there is nothing counteracting this energy.  This is a particularly positive time for advancement in the professional field, especially if Jupiter or Venus is involved in the equation.  Also have a look at the current condition of your progressed Sun.

Health and vitality will also be influenced by this trine, especially because Virgo is the sign we are focused on.  Virgo is very much focused on the health of the body, exercise routines, eating habits and consciousness related to the body.  If there has been any ongoing issues related to health, this is often a good time for regeneration and vitality to surface.  Astrological trines are considered easy flowing aspects.  They remove blockages and allow the energies to flow more freely.  This is a great time to begin an exercise programme and dedicate some time to look after your body’s needs.  Setting things in motion now can have long lasting effects later on in your life.  It is the time to push ahead.

With the Sun in Virgo, make sure you take advantage of the energies present in your life, especially now.  This is a useful and transformative aspect that will regenerate many areas of life.  Do not squander this opportunity.
