AFTER THE STORM COMES THE SUN

Have we reached our tipping point?

The world in many ways seems to heading for collapse. 

Politically, specifically, there seems to be much unrest.  Could this signal the point of collapse?  If so, how will this affect us? 

Does this state in politics reveal that the duties and motives of some politicians are misrepresented? 

In the free world, politicians are supposed to reflect and act upon the choices and sentiment of their people.  If our politicians are not doing this than either they are not fulfilling their duties or our understanding of leadership is incorrect.

It feels at times that we are in the midst of a storm and it appears that many are being swept into the turmoil of its force.  After any storm, however, is there not a clearing and then the sun returns? 

Some of us recognize that what is currently taking place is a simple storm and nothing more.  It does not have to be catastrophic and debilitating, but once it clears, it should enhance a welcomed change.

There are many that are awakening to a clearer understanding of self and in turn a clearer understanding of the path our world is moving towards.  It does not have to be devastation or disillusion.  It is a foreseeable turning point where we can learn to work together.  There can be a unique interchange which has not been adhered to up to this point.

We are on this road together.  Many are awakening to their true self and their authentic light is shining bright.

We cannot help but see it if we are looking for this energy.  We feel it within the core of our being and we understand that it is unfolding and expanding at an increasing rate.

In the face of adversity, stand tall.   Know that you are meant to be here and experience today’s events. 

Have faith in the process.  Believe in yourself and stay open.  Allow love and compassion, and you will bring love and compassion to our world.  

You do not have to own the sentiment or energies of those around you.  Their energies and focus are theirs, not yours.  Stay true to who you are and do not own the turmoil around you.  This storm too will pass.

TIGHT ASPECTS IN ASTROLOGY

When deciphering an Astrology chart whether the chart is a natal, transit, progression, solar, composite or any type of chart for that matter, it is important to consider specific points of interest.  The planets or significant points (Ascendant, Midheaven and to a lesser degree the IC and DC) closely joined to one another by aspect are points of interest and are more noteworthy. 

All aspects in a chart play a part in defining the individual or events in question but the closer a MAJOR aspect is to being direct the stronger its influence.  (Direct being defined as being at the same degree.) (Major aspects are 0° -conjunction, 60° -sextile, 90° -square, 120° -trine and 180° -opposition).

MINOR aspects are important as well but major aspects hold the greatest relevance when interpreting a chart.  It should be noted that a minor aspect within minutes of being direct can have a more profound affect than some major aspect that is, for example, at 2 degrees of separation.  (Minor aspects include but not limited to inconjunct -150°, semi-sextile -30°, quintile -72°, semi-square 45° and sequiquadrate -135°)

The conjunction followed by the opposition and then the square are the most powerful aspects in Astrology.  The challenging aspects are usually more significant because they challenge us and force us into action.  The planets that are making aspects to one another have to be taken into consideration as well as the energies of the aspect itself to get a clear picture of the story being told. 

For example, Pluto square Mars is a much more powerful combination than Mercury square Jupiter, even if the square between Mercury and Jupiter were tighter (closer to the exact degree).  Once again the distance between planets and their energies with one another have to be taken into consideration. 

This information applies to natal interpretation as well as in composite charts while transits behave quite differently.  We will look at transiting planets in our next Astrology post on August 10 and then on August 13, we will focus on progressions.

HARVESTING KNOWLEDGE

There are many, many learning tools at our disposal in this classroom of life.

Some individuals seem to enter this life equipped with ingrained understandings of many advanced principles, while others are learning and formulating concepts as their life progresses.  The further we delve into our life’s lessons, the more we realizes how much more knowledge there is still to process and just how little we are actually are aware of.

As mentioned, there are a great many tools available to us and our greatest teacher is life itself.  We can study in classrooms and groups through organized activities that will enhance our understanding.  We can accelerate our understanding of spirituality, metaphysical concepts and occult practices through reading, meditation and other practices.  No matter how prepared and informed we may feel, we will not arrive at the next stage of understanding until we are spiritually ready.  The higher self, our inner connections, the universal energy (call it what you will) knows when the timing is right.  One of our greatest lessons relates directly to the fine art of learning patience. (Oh that is such a hard one!)

Those “advanced” students in the spiritual classroom know the secret to achievement (if this is what you want to call it).  They utilize all that they understand daily through practical applications.  They are human and they accept failure but they do not own it.  They are human and they get excited with advancements but they do not let ego run with this either.  They accept that there is little to no purpose in understanding what they have been taught if they are not fully practicing what they know.  Without question, this can be difficult.  It takes much work and dedication. 

Beware of self-deception as we begin to feel like we are mastering the techniques at hand.  In reality we are more than likely just at the doorstep to real progress.  Ego often stands in the way of real understanding and development.

Be content with knowing and continually practice what you do understand. 

Gratitude is a giant step forward.  It is a personal choice to fully live our knowledge as knowledge alone is nothing more than a garden filled with produce left unharvested.

STATIONARY PLANETS IN THE NATAL CHART OR IN TRANSIT

Planets from Mercury to Pluto (yes we are including poor little Pluto) have cycles referred to as retrograde and direct motion. The Sun and the Moon never go into retrograde motion.

The Planets, at times, appear to slow down in the heavens. They then appear to stop their forward motion. During this appearance of their stoppage of motion, it is known as stationary retrograde (because the planet is about to go into retrograde motion). The planet will remain in this stationary position for up to a few days duration, depending on the planet in question. After the planet moves into retrograde motion (appears to be moving backwards) and completes this retrograde cycle, it once again slows down and then appear to come to a stop. This is termed stationary direct in Astrology. The length of time a planet is in stationary direct also depends on the planet involved.

The outer planets remain in their stationary position much longer than the inner planets.

Some Astrologers, including this Astrologer, share the concept (through experience) that the stationary direct as well as the stationary retrograde have a very powerful influence on the energies in a natal chart.

It has been noted that an individual with a planet in a stationary position in the birth chart will have emphasize on the energies represented by the planet in question. There is also influence from the sign that the planet is in and the house that stationary planet is located in.

Some Astrologers through client chart studies have found evidence that the stationary planet can be the most powerful influence in the birth chart and that the energies of this stationary planet will rule much of the activity that will be released. At some point in the person’s life, these energies and the influence of the planet will become very significant. The energies of the stationary planet have been linked to the defining purpose of the individual’s life.

This Astrologer believes that if there are other signatures within the birth chart that point in the same direction and imply something very similar, this is the case, particularly if the North or South nodes are involved in the equation.

It has been suggested that someone with a stationary retrograde planet in the birth chart will at some point experience the energies related to the planet involved within the area of life the house dictates as well as the energies of the sign it falls under. However, the individual with the stationary retrograde will only discover how to use these energies after a time of lengthy inner reflection coupled with life experiences that will lead to an awakening of sorts again depending on the planet and its placement. This may take time as well as much self-study or thought-provoking experiences before it is released. This is quite similar to a retrograde planet in the birth chart as it suggests that there is some inner reflection required before action can be taken.

The stationary direct individual has a different experience although the process is the same. The stationary directs influence depends on the sign the stationary planet is in and the house placement. However, the stationary direct individual has a much more easy time unleashing the energies associated with the planet and its placement (much less self-study and reflection). Things seem to work more smoothly and on a more outward expression. The motivating factor that facilitates the desired information or acknowledgement and understanding can be released at a much early stage in life or under less restrictive conditions.  The Stationary direct influence works in a similar manner as a planet that is in direct motion.

The energies released and the influence of the planet involved is of primary importance but the direct stationary energies seemed to come through in a much more flowing, less restrictive manner than the energies of the retrograde stationary planet.

These energies work in a similar manner through transit.  For the period of time the transit influence is in effect, the individual will be subject to these energies being released.  The difference between a transit and a natal positioning is that the transit is temporary in nature while the natal influence will express itself when the individual is ready during the full life cycle.

OUR LIFE’S SIGNATURE

We have all come into this life with unique character traits, each identified as our own.  Many of us will find people we can converse with due to our similar evolutionary stages in life, but it is next to impossible to find someone who can completely comprehend the intimate internal climate of our own personal sphere of existence. 

This understanding can make some of us feel alone.

Nonetheless, we can have a wonderful intimate bond with those that recognize this connection which is beyond the material world.

Is this our souls’ connection? 

The people that seem to come and go quickly in our lives are often put in place to help us during traumatic life interchanges or to start us in a new direction on our path.  They seem to appear almost magically and teach us valuable lessons that we might have been wrestled with by ourselves for long periods of time.  They are here one moment and then gone the next.  Some call these individuals angels of spiritual intervention and they were destined to a short but important interchange. 

Your life’s signature develops as you do.  Often those that we call family or friends have a long term influence in our journey but those that quickly come and go can have a very important influence on the flow of our personal signature. 

We learn from all of these individuals.  We can take on certain characteristics from them or we can be determined to never take on certain characteristics they display.  Either way they are valuable lessons and they influence our life’s signature nonetheless.

A PLANET ON THE MC

Today we are going to focus on a planet on the Midheaven (the MC).

A planet connected to the Midheaven by conjunction (up to 2 degrees before the MC or in the ninth house and up to 5 degrees past the MC or in the tenth house) is said to have a powerful influence on our goals in life.  It will also impact our life’s path, our occupation or profession as well as our public image and standing in the community.  About 5% of the population will have this energetic influence in their chart.

When you take into consideration the energies of the planet that “lives” on your MC within the degrees indicated and you utilize the energies available to you, the chances for success are enhanced. 

Quite often the sign on the MC will provide clues as to what type of job would be suitable for the individual and the planet tied to this placement will add to this influence. 

For example, someone with Gemini MC would do well in teaching and may have literary abilities especially if the north or south nodes are located in Gemini.  The North Node would signify that this is part of the life’s plan, while the South Node would indicate that this was significant in a previous incarnation or these abilities would come natural to the individual and that they could use these abilities in this life.  

If, for example, this individual also have Mars tied to the MC either in the ninth or tenth, this placement would further enhance these abilities.  Mars always provides the push to move ahead.  Even if tied to Saturn in some way, this push would be enhanced and would help propel this individual forward. 

If Jupiter were the planet closely linked to this position, there would be good luck and expansion potential.

If the individual in question had Saturn linked to this MC positioning then there would still be drive and ambition associated with this position, yet it would be expected that this individual would have to work hard for the end results.  Saturn would test the resilience and suggest possible delays before potentially providing security and structure as time passes.  It may take longer and the drive may not be as extensive or forceful as it would be with Mars as the driving force on the MC.  There would, however, probably be less mistakes along the way with the Saturn influence and this link would provide longevity and stability over time.

If  Uranus were tied to this Gemini MC, there might still be links to writing and teaching yet this individual would be innovative and may move towards their objectives in sudden bursts of inspiration.  Their writing skills may be considered provocative although probably insightful but they may also be considered somewhat eccentric in their approach. 

Neptune in this location might indicate that there are literary abilities and these might be linked to mystical writings and spiritual concepts.

You can see that taking into consideration the surrounding planets to the MC can provide a much clearer insight into an individual’s approach to what they could do for a living and how that might be released. 

These are potentials and there would have to be an thoroughly examination of the individual’s Sun sign, rising sign, and Nodal positioning to get a clearer understanding of how these energies might be released or be harnessed.
