TRANSITING JUPITER CONJUNCT NATAL MERCURY

Mercury is the planet of the mind.  It speaks of our communication techniques which are defined by the astrological sign Mercury is in within our birth chart.  The house location also provides further information.  The angles to the planet will define how challenging or how proficient the mind operates. 

The Square aspect may suggest challenging conditions but these natal aspects can be used to intensify the mind’s focus especially if Saturn or Pluto is part of the process.  If Uranus is part of the equation its energies can add a flair of uniqueness.  The squares, although often indicating lessons, can always be confronted and dealt with accordingly over time.  Mental illness and concentration issues can also be defined by Mercury’s condition.  Much depends on the overall condition of Mercury as well as the rest of the chart’s energies.

When Mercury is conjuncted by transiting Jupiter there is an emphasis on the mental processing and often the ability to expand on certain teachings.  Much will depend on the sign Mercury is in as well as the house of the conjunction.  In general, however, subjects such as religion, spirituality and philosophy can become activating forces of this individual’s focus during this transiting aspect.  Jupiter has a tendency to expand on things and pushes for higher learning often through life’s experience, and Mercury will take on these energies and use them to propel its energies. 

Mercury is a neutral planet and actually needs something to stimulate it into action.  It comes to life when it is activated by transit or progression.

The attitude can be changed significantly as Mercury is touched by Jupiter, and Jupiter’s involvement will help to foster a positive attitude and a general feeling of good fortune into everyday life.  The mind is ready to learn and grow through these energies.  Anyone with these energies may also be quite willing to share this information with others, especially if Mercury is in the sign of Gemini, Sagittarius or Leo.  The thinking and sharing of thoughts may be a little recluse if Mercury is in the sign of Capricorn, or even Virgo and sometimes Scorpio, but many individuals will feel wide open to the teachings available under the influence of this aspect.

Verify which house Jupiter resides in within the natal chart.  This will also be an area of life that will be affected by open-minded concepts. 

Take advantage of these energies by perhaps taking on new teachings or actually returning to school.  If you have these energies activated in your chart, you may wish to travel abroad to gain experience and in so doing, gain understanding of other cultures.  Long distance travel whether in the mind or physically are often by-products of transiting Jupiter conjunct natal Mercury.

OUR FINAL DESTINATION

We will pass through many new areas as we walk out life’s path, including areas we never dreamt existed let alone would be part of our quest. 

We will feel at times that we have come full circle and other times the path will be foreign.  There will be times when we feel as though we are stalled or stagnated.  We feel as though we have been walking in circles without realizing it and have not put any distance behind us.  These brief moments are actually valuable review opportunities.  Do not waste these opportunities by allowing frustration to set in.  Seize the moment and turn inward for review.  What wonderful opportunities to prepare ourselves for what is yet to come.

We can take these opportunities to consciously open up to the energies now awakening within us and to take a look around us and be grateful for what surrounds us. 

We are forever growing throughout this life yet we rarely know what lies next.  Because our growth is not what we expected, does not mean that we are not growing.  We can prepare for what we feel is going to come but there may be some surprises in store for us. 

If we have allowed ourselves to become frustrated and disappointed, we will eventually come to the realization that the path life is taking us on is actually better than the one we had envisioned. 

Sometimes we think we are falling short of who we want to be and these quiet moments in our journey allow us the space to recognize that the person we are in search of already dwelling within.  This individual we are trying to “mold” into already exists within.  We just have never taken the time to clearly see our higher selves. 

Once we understand the process, we learn to stop looking as the searching itself can give us the feeling of being lost.  We begin to awaken to ourselves and a new path shows up in front of us.

As we journey this new path, one step at a time, we feel as though our journey is now heightened.  We feel much more wise yet this knowledge too has always been a part of who we are. 

Our journey takes us to places we may not have been prepared for and for some this can be a little unnerving.  However once we have stepped onto this new path, we also understand that fear is generated by ego and we can quickly let go of that as we have faith in the process.

The entire journey is actually a round trip and we come back to where we started, although it seems truly unfamiliar.  Our destination is that of oneness with all that is.  We venture off individually in order to recognize the one, the whole when we return.

TRANSITING NEPTUNE QUINCUNX SUN

While Neptune transits the natal chart, it is important that we see things as they are, not as we wish they were. 

Neptune tends to colour our view and often puts a haze or veil on situations.  The saying “Seeing through rose-colored glasses” fits this situation perfectly as, under this influence, we tend to put people or life conditions high on a pedestal. 

This can become disheartening when the veil is lifted and we finally see things as they actually are.  Much, of course, will depend on the aspects that transiting Neptune is making to other natal planets as well as the planets involved and the houses they are located in within the Astrology chart.  The house Neptune is transiting through will also be of utmost importance as this is reflective of the area of life which is involved along with the Sun’s placement by house position with our example aspect today of transiting Neptune Quincunx (150 degrees) the natal Sun.

The Sun has to do with life goals and ambitions and our ability to succeed in life.  It helps us find our path in life, controls our destiny, deals with our vitality and sometimes refers to the father or important masculine people in our life. 

When Neptune is in transit to our Sun by quincunx, also known as inconjunct, it often speaks of a time when we need to or should make some alterations or adjustments to our plans.  Neptune can make us a little dreamy about what it is we want to manifest in our life.  The quincunx aspect has also been linked to health concerns but there has to be other factors pointing in the same direction in the chart.

Sometimes these adjustments are rather subtle in nature, and we do not have to do too much in order for us to get on the real track.  Other times, this is not the case.  We may have been fooling ourselves for some time. This can suggest that it is time for a reality check although at other times we can get inspirational assistance once we begin to make alterations and accept what is in front of us.  We might want to go to outside sources for further guidance on what it is we are doing or what it is we believe is happening.

Much will depend on the house transiting Neptune is moving through.  Neptune moves slowly and will spend many years in one house.  This area of life will become activated when it transits other natal positions.  We will also need to see where natal Neptune is located in the chart as this provides further information as to what areas of life are involved and how things might unfold.  The natal aspects to Neptune will also provide information that might assist with this guidance and help with understanding these energies more clearly.

If transiting Neptune makes favorable aspects to other natal positions, this can be a time of great revelation and intuitive insight.  The psychic realms can become more intriguing, and you should pursue these expressions and delve deeper to get an understanding of what this might mean for you.  Neptune is a mystical planet and offers insight into the psychic realm. 

You can allow an orb of influence of 5-7 degrees approaching and as it nears exactitude, the energies will strengthen.  The energies begin to fade as Neptune passes out of orb after being direct by 2 degrees of separation.  If Neptune moves into retrograde during this time frame, it can have several passes over the same degree and be quite influential.  The first exact pass however, is usually the most powerful.

THE MANY FACES OF EGO

We can interpret ego in many different ways. 

There is ego that assists you in your endeavors and helps you along the way, and then there is the ego that stands in the way of progress and inhibits growth and advancement on many levels.

If there is a quality within you or a part of your personality that you are not overly pleased with, then this is ego interference.  Any part of who you believe yourself to be that is not acceptable to you is ego related.  These “beliefs” can be eradicated by acknowledging the “judgement” and then letting them go and not identifying with these qualities as being a part of you.  When you own these characteristics, you make them your own and then see and identify yourself as these.  The minute you recognize that these qualities are not a part of your true self and stop identifying with them, you release ownership.

The part of you that reinforces good qualities, the ones that make you feel secure and content with your life’s journey is also ego generated but used wisely they can serve a positive purpose as long as we understand where they are coming from.  Our true essence is far beyond these menial earthly qualities.

Remind yourself of who you truly are; a spiritual being living a very temporary earthly existence who it utilizing a vehicle that some unfortunately identify with as self.  You are so much more than that identity and you have credentials that far exceed anything that you are and can currently identifying with with a limited human brain.

Your true and higher self is capable of anything, so what lies ahead is attainable and limitless. The only thing that holds you back is your limited beliefs.  Once you let go of these “learned” notions, you can recognize and allow your essential self to flourish. 

Recognize ego and see yourself for who you truly are.  Once you are able to do this, you will also recognize that what you wish to become is already a part of who you are.  You will grow at the pace that suits your evolution (and learn patience in the process).  Nothing is unattainable.  Open yourself up to all possibilities.

TRANSITING PLUTO’S ACTIONS

Transiting Pluto was stationary direct at 18 degrees and 45 minutes from approximately September 29 to October 1, 2018.  Yesterday Pluto went direct Pluto will remain direct until approximately mid-late April, 2019. 

When planets (with the exception of Saturn) are in direct (rather than retrograde), their energies are no longer subdued and are allowed full expression.  Saturn is different from the other planets as its retrograde motion allows it to express its qualities in a more favorable manner.

Pluto deals with endings and then afterward initiates new beginnings.  It is the planet of transformation and regeneration.  It has been known to break down old and outdated structures in our lives that no longer serve a viable purpose.  Its energies then erect new energies that take the place of what once was.  This can include relationships, occupation, internal realizations, finances, ways of communicating, home and family related subjects, love affairs, the working environment, joint finances and business enterprises, religious and spiritual overtones, friendships and mystical understanding, to name a few.

Pluto will tear apart things that no longer add to our ongoing journey and things which stand in the way of our progress.  Pluto will tear apart, disintegrate and dismantle in order to rebuild and transform what used to be into what now serves a purpose.  Pluto can be subtle in its actions or it can be quite disruptive in its behaviour and little stands in the way of these changes that are needed.  It is best not to fight what is inevitable.  There can be ego disputes, organized or disorganized mayhem and what may, at first, appear to be setback while Pluto is in the process of rebuilding.  Pluto’s actions are necessary but often may not be overly pleasant.  Make no mistake, however, its energies are very powerful in their influence over the masses.

As the author Helen J Adams states in her book Understanding Retrogrades, “Pluto direct is power while Pluto retrograde is dependency.  Pluto direct is the leader of the masses, Pluto retrograde is the follower of the masses.  Pluto direct creates great change, while Pluto retrograde refuses to change self, but does endeavor to change others. “

During Pluto’s transit, it has powerful ramifications on the areas of the chart it touches, whether this is the beginning of a house, planets or angles.  Much depends on the aspects it is making during its travel around the Zodiac.  Pluto in challenging aspect can be rather tedious and there is a tendency to destroy what needs to be dealt with and then rebuild with what is needed, but its actions are challenging to say the least. 

When Pluto is in a favorable aspect, its actions are still definite and unsettling but less dramatic or less inhibiting and the rebuilding of structures may move along more gently and create less strain.

While Pluto is moving through your chart and affecting different placements within that framework, you can expect required changes and disruptions.  Pluto’s actions are usually final.  As the dust settles which may take as long as two years, you will come to understand that what took place was in your best interests.

PLAYING WITH SPIRITUAL TRUTHS

For those that are taking the journey of spirituality and psychic awareness, the path we walk cannot be tampered with or corrupted.  There are truths and obligations to uphold.  We must live up to certain high standards. 

There are many of us who feel vulnerable from time to time and reach out for assistance.  These individual (or any other individual for that matter) can never be taken advantage of.  Because the road we walk is linked to the understanding that we create and mold our lives by our thoughts and focus, we, if truly living this life of giving understands, must honour these high standards. 

We have to be (not just live) truth and honour it.  We must love ourselves and allow that love to overflow into others.  We are human but our standards are high.  If we dishonor our profession (our calling), we then dishonor ourselves and the profession as a whole.  When our profession is based on love, truth and a life of assisting others, dishonestly does not have a place there. 

If you are a fellow helper, believe in yourself and know yourself (including your shadow self).  Self-realization can only come from exploring the qualities within.  When we can accept ourselves, we can then reach out to spread happiness and hope.  Without a genuine concern for everyone around us, we cannot do this work. 

We are not here to be self-righteous nor are we here to be stifled by all of the rules to control the masses but it is essential that we live life according to our own personal standards and honour each and every living thing.  Compassion and sharing of our lives is necessary in order for us to truly experience life.  We can neither afford to pretend to be someone that we are not nor can we afford not to be who we are deep within.

We will limit or expand our growth by our expectations and with the rules that we play by.  We just as quickly stunt or stifle our growth by pretending to be something we are not.  Allow the true self to shine and use whatever tools are available to you to create the best life possible.  These do not need to be fabricated.

TRANSITING PLUTO CONJUNCT NATAL MARS

This transit between Pluto and Mars is potentially a very potent transit. 

Before we continue, is this transit in your chart?  If it is be sure to check if Pluto and Mars are linked in your personal chart.  Also check what, if any, other aspects are linked to Pluto and Mars in your natal chart.  This will help determine the transiting effects on your life.  Check to see which house transiting Pluto is currently located in as well as its natal position in your chart.  You should also check which house natal Mars is located in to determine its contribution to the overall effects.

As mentioned, this is a powerful aspect.  If this aspect is affecting your chart, review your chart to see if there are other transits affecting Mars or planetary links that closely resemble this configuration such as Pluto and Saturn or Uranus links for this will help to define the intensity of the energies. 

There should always be a warning when the energies of Pluto and Mars come together particularly if you also have at least two other planetary links that also suggest the same types of energies.  Under these energies, you will have to watch for acting in haste, especially when dealing with motorized vehicles and machinery.  Potential dangers lie in these areas. 

This is a high energy transit that must be controlled or expressed in a vigorous although gentle manner.  If you do not release these inherent energies, there is potential for becoming victim to aggressive behaviour.  Do not place yourself in immediate danger and avoid arguments if at all possible.

On the positive sign, if you are ready to move forward with your ambitions in life, this transit can provide you with the drive to accomplish, even in the face of adversity.  You have great potential to overcome any harsh conditions and if you harness this powerful aspect, you can succeed in many endeavours (which under normal conditions you would most likely not even think about pursuing). 

There is a lot of drive and energy linked to this transit.  You are also able to dig beneath the surface on inner turmoil that may have been dormant in the past.  This is the time when you can bring these to the surface and deal with them appropriately, once and for all.

Mars is linked to the ego and the ego drive and Pluto can be a destructive power urge.  You will have to be careful how you approach life’s endeavours during this transit.  Much opposition to your plans can arise if you handle this energy in an ego-oriented fashion.  You will, however, be able to present your case with much enthusiasm and have an ability to put your point across in a powerful and direct manner.  In some cases, nonetheless, you can become quite subversive in your approach.

Pluto tends to transform many things it touches and you will have to take note of which house it is transiting through as well as any other planets it touches.  The house is the area of life that is transforming and any planets it touches will be affected by its transformational abilities.  Pluto can be very subtle in its actions and as time passes, you will begin to figure out how it has affected that area of life. 

You can do great things with this transit and you will notice that work which normally takes great effort to complete does not seem to require the same amount of energy.  You accomplish more with less effort and if you put effort into your plans and objectives, the odds of a favourable result or a change in conditions are great.

As mentioned, this transit has potential for difficult conditions although unlikely unless several aspects in the chart suggest the same energies as does this aspect between Pluto and Mars.  Be a little more careful while under its influence, especially when transiting Pluto goes direct and aspects Mars within ten minutes.
