CERES IN THE HOUSES

We continue our look at Ceres which began on March 13, 2019, and touched on the signs and Ceres on March 18, 2019.  Today we will focus on the houses.

The houses in Astrology have to do with areas of life.  Any planet or body in a house will use its energies and allocate it to that particular area of life.  For example, Mars has to do with energy and wherever you find Mars in the natal chart will be where you expend a lot of energy.  Mars in the tenth house would suggest that this individual would invest a lot of energy and drive towards reaching their objectives.  This may include making a name for themselves through their occupation or striving towards becoming known for what they have done with themselves in this life.

Ceres on the other hand has to do with nurturing and motherhood and the urge to protect.  It also has to do with the ways we provide for ourselves and for those we care for through acts of giving and how we work towards providing for our families.

For example, Ceres in the second house would suggest that this individual’s nurturing abilities would come through being reliable and providing stability to our family through money or emotional stability.  The second house has to do with our financial situation, material belongings, and the stability these things provide.  On a deeper level it has to do with stability in life.  This, as mentioned, can be measured in financial terms or through the ability to provide a guiding force to help others.

These matters will also relate to our own personal needs connected to what was discussed.

When Ceres is found in the third house, emotional interaction and physical attentiveness may be created through communicational abilities.  When this individual needs support rather than providing a shoulder for someone to lean on and offering emotional support, they may support through communication tools.  This individual may be more of a talker with a little less emotional response being attached.  They would possibly offer a rational interchange as support.  They could offer their support in day to day activities and provide informative resolutions or ideas to help propel others forward.

Ceres in the eighth house, for example, may suggest that this individual offers their support or nurturing through deep internal examination which in turn would make others delve deep within themselves to uncover not only the resolution to problems but also the reason for these problems.  They may offer up assistance that may not be easy to handle and in some cases for those more emotionally sensitive, the eighth house approach could instigate arguments or uneasiness as these individuals cause deep truths to be brought to the surface.

Sometimes the truth can be challenging and ego disputes may be commonplace when trying to assist others when coming from the energies of the eighth house.  Being a little more gentle might be helpful, although emotionally these people would “feel” what is taking place in other people’s lives.  Those with the eighth house Ceres can be insightful and some even possess abilities beyond what some consider normal.  The ability to dig deep to uncover earlier wounds with others and with themselves can provide solutions to issues that may have been part of the picture for a very long time.

Use the energies of each of the houses to understand how Ceres’ energies would be released.

THE JUPITER RETURN

Transiting Jupiter has a cycle of 12 years and then it returns to its natal position in our Astrology chart.  Each planet has a return cycle and you can draw up a chart for that particular moment in time when any planet comes back to its original position.  You would read this type of chart similar to that of a natal chart but it would indicate specifically in terms of the energies of the focal planet involved in the return to its birth position.

The Jupiter return can be delineated every twelve years (approximately) by looking into the planet’s placement in the birth chart and then correlate it (now in transit) exactly to the same degree and minute to the time in the birth chart.

The house position will be the area of life that will bring opportunities, hope, good luck and expansion into life as these are the energies of Jupiter.  Jupiter brings with it an optimistic approach to the areas of life dictated by the house position in the natal chart.  This will be an area of growth and expansion.  The opportunities for growth in finances are increased, as well as potential good fortune in personal ways and in the occupation with Jupiter.  Once again, this is all reflective of the house position of Jupiter, the aspects Jupiter makes within the birth chart and the transiting aspects it will be receiving during the return period.

Jupiter nearly always promotes growth in some fashion or another; the only catch might be if it is in aspect to Saturn.  Jupiter pushes for expansion, optimism and good luck, while Saturn pushes for structure and discipline.  Saturn is often associated with lessons, delays and shortfalls especially if not enough preparation has been carried out for any given project or circumstance.

There can be expansion issues especially if Jupiter is found in the first house, as weight gain is possible.  Over-optimism and grand expectations can sometimes lead to less than expected results.  Make sure you also have a look at the house Jupiter rules in the birth chart.  The house with Sagittarius on the cusp will also promote all the things that Jupiter offers.

It is important that the energies are used positively during this cycle as twelve years can seem like a long time and the general feeling of good fortune can make the recipient sit idle and do nothing with the energies at hand.  It is important that the energies available under this influence be used to build for the future but that it is also enjoyed while it lasts.

If Jupiter moves into retrograde during the return and crosses its natal position several times, these energies will last longer and will enhance opportunities each time it crosses this particular point in the chart.  The first contact is usually the most powerful, so it is important that the recipient take advantage of the energies under this initial contact regardless of whether Jupiter goes retrograde or not.

EXPRESS YOURSELF

There are times when it is appropriate to stand behind the scenes and carry out your important work.  and then there are times to come out of our comfort zone to stand centre stage.  We will sometimes be asked to take the leading role.  We may adlib our role or we may study and rehearse extensively.

When we are taking centre stage, we are meant to be there.  We are not speaking out of turn.  We are merely taking the role that is needed at the time.  Sometimes we need to voice ourselves in such a way that others are willing to listen.

Follow through on intuitive thoughts and visualizations that will instigate action that is required.  These open expressions may not only open the doors of insight for us but they may also open the doors for others to insight that might not otherwise have been pursued.  Our follow through, my at the very least, provide us with the reassurance that what we have to say is importance.

There are times to raise our voices to be heard even though we are not comfortable doing so.

With practice, we build confidence and become comfortable sharing the valuable information we have to communicate.

Rising above our lack of confidence and the worry of saying the wrong thing or sounding stupid are simple ego interferences.  When we live in the moment and silence the mind, we allow ourselves to be propelled forward (eventually with confidence).

Each one of us has an important voice.  We can share our knowledge and also respect the opinions of others at the same time.

Will this be your day to allow complete expression?

Will this be your day to release the shackles of suppression?

Will you allow yourself to rise above ego and push through ego’s negativity that persistently keeps you silent?

FULL MOON IN LIBRA - MARCH 20, 2019

For those new to reading our posts, the full Moon is a time to reap the rewards of past efforts (harvest from the garden of life, so to speak) or it little work has gone into something, it may be time to re-evaluate.  If you nurtured your seeds, it can be a rewarding harvest or if you have neglected your seeds, there may be hope to nurture your plans back to health.  If, however, you have completely neglected your garden, you may have to plough it under and start anew.

This current Full Moon is in the sign of Libra at zero degrees. This is known as a cardinal point in Astrology which is a place of action and there will be plenty of energy.  Anyone with a planet or angle close (within 4 to 5 degrees) to this placement by conjunction or opposition (and to a lesser degree square, trine, or sextile,) can use these energies to complete a project or see where you might tweak your plans to see them to fruition.

This project or goal could be personal in nature, internal if you wish; however it could also be external.  Much depends on what area you have already been working on.  The house position of the Full Moon will be the area of life associated with what these energies are about for you personally.  Aspects from other natal positions or angles will define this energy more clearly.

With the Full Moon in the sign of Libra now is a time of balancing and harmonizing energies; a time of justice sought, truth revealed and sometimes change of direction and disruption.  This is due in part to the influence of transiting Uranus in the sign of Taurus which is currently quincunx this position.  A quincunx is an aspect of adjustment, somewhat disharmonious and can be challenging.  However, the change and disruption is necessary as change is a prerequisite of Uranus’ energies.

Uranus seeks freedom.  It has a need for something new and is often found through dramatic, unconventional and erratic manners.  Sometimes its action is sudden and unexpected and the move in a new direction can be rather tumultuous, but as mentioned, necessary.

Look to see which sign and house transiting Uranus is in with your natal chart.  Also review which planets in the birth chart are aspecting Uranus to get further insight into probabilities.  You should also have a look at the natal position and aspects to natal Uranus as this is always part of the underlying process taking place.  The natal potential always has to be reviewed.

The Full Moon is also tied to purging anything that no longer serves a viable purpose and this is strong with the influence of Uranus.  The Full Moon can also be reflective of past events and Uranus when Pluto is also part of the equation can bring these events or issues to the surface so you can deal with them.

It is always best to do what needs to be done as the outer planets often force action and when we sit back and do nothing, the energies can push something to the surface and if forced to face these changes, they may come to us in a far less desirable manner than if we did the purge when first nudged to do so.

How we judge the action, good or bad, does not matter.  It is a time of reconciliation and change which is always beneficial in the end.

Move ahead with plans if you have taken the time previous to this period to carry out your goals.  Line up with the energies available.  Uranus may push you hard to make changes, but always try to weigh things out before jumping with eyes closed.

SUN IN ARIES MARCH 2019

The Sun moves into the sign of Aries late on March 20, 2019.

Aries is a cardinal, fire sign and stimulates directed energy towards life objectives.  There is a lot of enthusiasm for those with a strong Aries emphasis in their chart.  This includes not only the Sun in Aries but also those with an Aries Ascendant or to a lesser degree those with their Sun in the first house.  There are differences in the energies between these placements as they are tempered by aspects to the placements.  Also those with an Aries Ascendant will show this personality to the world while those with a Sun in Aries will still reveal this character trait but a lot of these characteristics may be internal.  Those with their Sun in the first house will have built in Aries tendencies added to their Sun sign, so someone with a Sun in the first house and a Sun in Scorpio for example will have both character traits although the Sun, under most conditions, has the stronger energy out of the two.

Aries individuals can be aggressive in their pursuit and are usually the first ones to “sign-up”, although due to this tendency they also make their share of mistakes.  They actually would benefit from making more calculated moves before plunging into life’s situations; however, they are seldom devastated by their mistakes.  They learn from the lesson, they are resilient and quickly pick themselves up and move forward.

Aries individuals can be dominating.  They seem to know what they want and will spend little time wasted on thinking about moving ahead.

Some Arians tend to have a “me first” attitude and go after what is important to them.  This is not to say that they will push others out of their way in their pursuit although this is possible.  Aries individuals are relentless once they have made their choice.

If you need a helping hand, most Arians can be counted on to, at the very least, do their part.

These individuals are rarely short of energy and often plunge into action.

Aries people can have a short fuse and some have full-blown tempers although under most conditions if they do explode they tend to let things go quickly and do not hold on to issues.  They react as quickly as they move out of situations.

These individuals are the go-getters of the Zodiac (being ruled by Mars).  Most Aries individuals make wonderful entrepreneurs and are fearless in their pursuits.

Currently those with their Sun in Aries between 15 to 29 degrees will have Pluto making a square to their Sun.  Since Pluto rules transformation and going below the surface to bring up any hidden issues that needs to surface, this can be a time when they will uncover or go deep into hidden areas of their subconscious.  Now is the time to dig up anything that now needs to be re-evaluated, regenerated and transformed.  Digging up the truth is a strong characteristic of Pluto and those being affected by this square may find that life’s course is being altered and realigned although it may not be all together that pleasant of an experience if these energies are resisted.

Much depends on the house position of transiting Pluto and the natal Sun.  Reviewing these will help to define the areas of life affected.  Check where Pluto is natally located in the birth chart for further definition.

Aries is a strongly driven sign, so those being affected by transits at this time should use this time wisely to push themselves ahead into new experiences or push ahead with plans already set in motion, especially after March 28, 2019 when Mercury goes direct (Mercury went retrograde on March 5, 2019).

CERES IN THE SIGNS

On March 13, 2019, we touched on Ceres in Astrology.  Today we will go a little deeper and look at Ceres in the Signs.

Ceres, as mentioned previously, lies between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter and has been known to be connected to nurturing, both the nurturing of others and also the nurturing that we need for ourselves.  It speaks of the early nurturing we received in life or in contrast the lack of early nurturing we received in childhood.

For example, those born with Ceres in the sign of Capricorn may have lacked what was considered early nurturing due to the potential for one of the parents either being missing or unable to nurture because of their tendency of being too strict or conservative.

It should be noted here that Saturn retrograde has also been linked to the missing father and sometimes when aspected poorly (either by square or opposition or by conjunction) the father or authority figure was absent perhaps due to separation or divorce or in some cases the father passed away early in life.  The father or authority figure could also have been absent due to his occupation or a preoccupation with addictions.

There is often a strong feeling for those with Ceres in Capricorn that control or some type of restriction was present in early childhood and this can extend into adult years.  Sometimes one or both of the parents had difficulty expressing sensitivity or was overly reserved or inhibited in some way.  Perhaps the parent was too wrapped up in business concerns to find time to provide nurturing to this child.  This parent may have been strict and may have made the child learn to depend on themselves for any type of emotional support.  This, in some cases, can make the individuals self-reliant but also to appear somewhat cold.  Those with their Ceres in Capricorn, because of their own experiences, want their own children to feel secure.  They will want life structured in such a way that they will have nothing to worry about financially.

It is suggested that those with Ceres in Capricorn must learn to let go of these concerns and recognize that in the long haul, we each orchestrate our own lives and learn to structure our lives through life’s experience.

In contrast, those individuals with Ceres in the sign of Cancer may have been protected and emotionally mothered in early life, with many warm hugs and a sensitive awareness that the home environment needed to be security for a children and also to provide stability.  Many individuals with Ceres in the sign of Cancer will carry this forward into adulthood by being overly sensitive to their children’s needs, while at the same time needing nurturing themselves in order to feel safe and secure.

Those with a Gemini Ceres learn nurturing through communication and need to hear words of encouragement and should have been allowed to use their own minds to figure out any issues in order to feel nurtured.  Mind frame and attitude will play a big part in these individuals’ lives and as parents they will provide their children with a variety of tools to utilize information and knowledge.  They will offer open dialogue that will help their children as well as their own internal relationship through shared information and discussion.  These people may not necessarily need to feel nurtured through interaction from a physical point of view, but will need to hear that they are needed and valued and likeable because of their keen minds and their ability to communicate freely about their concerns.

Much of how Ceres operates in the chart will also be defined by the house position and aspects to Ceres.  These will colour how Ceres plays out in our lives and define our need for nurturing and our need to nurture others with greater detail and clarity.  We will take a look at houses and aspects in the near future.

CHIRON - THE WOUNDED HEALER

Chiron is a comet that was discovered in 1977.  It has an orbit that oscillates between Saturn and Uranus and actually crosses orbits.

In Astrology, Chiron seeks out enlightenment through affirmation of its ability to heal wounds especially those wounds of others.  They say that the internal wounds formed in early life, such as self-worth and insufficiencies, are carried forward into adulthood and that these wounds are particularly hard to overcome and heal.  Through these internal struggles and the lessons that they teach, we are able to help others often before we can help ourselves.

As Chiron swings between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus, Chiron can bring with it enlightenment and new avenues of expression by exploring competent and reliable information often learned through life’s experience.  There is a need to rise above the original wound even though it can be very deep and can require much work to find new directions or alternatives that assist in moving beyond the injury and rising above the issue.

The sign and house position of Chiron show what area of life is involved and the character traits of the wound.  In many cases, this is thought of as a spiritual wound and it also shows where we have great healing potential that can help others who have experienced similar wounds in their lives.

In order to heal ourselves, we have to face the issues, and we will need to work tirelessly to overcome the effects these wounds have on us.

It is said that the first house positioning of Chiron is the most challenging, perhaps due to the personal nature of the wound, as the first house represents us personally.  In most cases, the healing powers that individuals develop during their lives are very powerful.  Many with a challenged Chiron become doctors, psychologists and healers including modern day techniques such as reiki, hypnosis, etc.

Chiron’s energies do not necessarily have to be overly negative, as hard work often produces great results.  As we learn to overcome deep-seated challenging conditions, we gain internal strength and learn valuable lessons.  The house placement will often define where we have reoccurring difficulties and there is an urgency to repair these concepts and believed notions in order to move beyond the hurt.  We are able to heal ourselves but not without hard work and a very disciplined approach.  Sometimes the healing comes in sporadic moments of enlightenment or happens when we are not expecting it, but a rational and an honest approach will often work quite well.

On some level, our Chiron’s placement by sign and house position is indicative of the ability to heal human kind, and this is not to say that it will be on a grand scale, although we cannot rule this out.  We can all certainly help others.  We will, however, need to heal ourselves before we can do work with helping others.

The issues/injury we speak of in connection with Chiron often are a big part of our life’s story and most of us unfortunately hold on to these wounds for many years.  Some individuals will be unable to integrate the healing requirements due to self-doubt and preconceived notions.  If we recognize that, in most cases, we are the ones holding ourselves back.  We CAN make great strides in overcoming our adversities.
