TRANSITING URANUS SQUARE NATAL VENUS

Transiting Uranus when writing this post (January 10, 2020) is in the sign of Taurus and will remain in this sign for about another 6 years.  We will be discussing the square from transiting Uranus to natal Venus.  Check your chart to see if this aspect is applicable to you.  Allowing an orb of 5 degrees approaching and a separation degree of 2 those individuals with this degree of Venus in their natal chart in the appropriate signs will experience this square at some point in time depending on the degree of your natal Venus.  Some of you may be experiencing it now.

Uranus above all else is known as the awakener and rules the sign Aquarius.  It is also known for its rather abrupt interchange and freedom seeking qualities.  Its energies will strive to push you to make changes to things that have become obsolete or no longer viable in your life.  Because of its tendency to create change and disruption, when connected to Venus and by square, its energies will speak in terms of relationships, especially loved ones, and may also be tied to finances and young females of significance.

In most cases, the square aspect suggests tension, challenges and difficulties that must be addressed.  This aspect is challenging enough that in many cases will force you to act and find a resolution to the issue at hand.  Unlike the opposition which often suggests that the issues stem from others, the square does not lay blame at least in most cases, but what it does insist on is action on your part.  The pressure can be overwhelming and can last for a long time due to the slow movement of Uranus through the Zodiac.

The stress of these changes does not necessarily depict the ending of conditions but it does speak of an overhaul and sometimes rather dynamic and drastic change may be necessary.  We will often get little hints along the way to make these changes and if we don’t act at some point in time, Uranus can act in unpredictable manners and usually in the drastic fashion we speak of.

The change that is suggested is put in place because we are no longer advancing at all or in the right direction.  A change will usually be revealed over time and understood to be what is needed.  These changes and new directions although intrusive at times will prove to be beneficial and we will find that they were a requirement of the soul’s path.

The change does not have to be total change but likely there will need to be some major alterations in order for things to move in the right direction. 

Uranus is used as a timing device in Astrology and in many cases the days when it is direct will be when something transpires unless you take action before hand (although often something happens anyway around the time when it is direct).  Of course, the whole chart needs to be studied very carefully to get a clear and definitive outline of what might be taking place.

The houses involved including the position of transiting Uranus, natal Venus and natal Uranus will provide you with some information as to the areas of life involved in the equation. 

You can expect the unexpected with Uranus as its action is not very predictable but for certain you can expect some sort of freedom involved and likely changes taking hold.

FINDING THE SOLUTION

There is generally a feeling of great satisfaction when we are able to rectify an issue on our own.  We followed our inner guide and have taken control on a very personal level.  By conquering this issue, we have reassured our self that we can rely on our inner guidance and this confidence feels great.  This will assist us in recognizing the tools that are available to us at any time.  By attempting to resolve the issue, successfully or unsuccessfully, we have grown stronger. 

There will be times, however, when we have exhausted all efforts at resolving problems and there just does not seem to be a resolution at hand.  We go to great lengths applying ourselves and yet nothing of substance seems to materialize.  We can then reach the end of our ropes and are ready to give up.  As a last resort, we reach out for outside help.  Sometimes all it takes is another person just listening and as we explain our situation, the answers come into focus.  Other times it is just that ear that we need to not feel alone.  There will be other times that we need someone else’s guidance as we are so close to the issue that we are not seeing (or thinking) clearly. 

Sometimes the issue becomes so overwhelming that even our closest friends or family cannot help provide us with answers.  This is certainly the time to reach out for professional assistance, to people that are trained in helping specifically with the type of issues that we are experiencing.  We cannot allow our ego to get in the way of the solution and stop us from reaching out. 

Whether we recognize a solution or someone else has to assist us in finding a resolution, in the end, we are the ones that have to do the work.  Whether we stand alone or with others, we are strong enough to overcome and see anything through.  Recognize that strength.  Know that we have what it takes and stand tall in the face of any life situation.   We have this!

SATURN RETROGRADE & DIRECT MOTION

Saturn is the planet of restriction, delays, obstacles and hard work.  It is known as the task maker or the teacher of the Zodiac.  Saturn by birth position usually shows an area of life that we have to work at in order to make things succeed.  If Saturn is poorly aspected in the birth chart this is doubly so, although Saturn also offers rewards for those with diligent work ethics.

Saturn while in its direct motion through transit suggests that there will be time delays, limitations and boundaries to overcome, unlike most planets in their direct cycle.  When Saturn turns retrograde which is about 140 days a year, its energies are quite the contrary.  The retrograde motion of Saturn may be a time when you feel less restricted and held back, although signing agreements or making major decisions is not recommended.  This is a time when you can rethink what action you can take in order to facilitate growth when the timing is better.  This is a planning stage when you can actually take great strides forward when other planets trigger the appropriate timing factors.

Saturn has a 29 year cycle and usually retrogrades about 15 degrees in each sign.  It usually moves into retrograde up to 8-9 degrees during its cycle.  Saturn is linked with achievement, ambition and delivers what is truly deserved.  When the Sun (also linked to ambition) through transit forms a square aspect to Saturn, this aspect often brings some struggles with regards to your goals and aspirations.  If it trines Saturn, the blended energies of the Sun and Saturn offer some stability in these areas. 

Saturn in its retrograde cycle is somewhat similar to Jupiter, in that it offers opportunities to succeed in your endeavours and planning is a fundamental action while Saturn goes through its retrograde motion.  The normal cautionary application of Saturn is softened during its retrograde cycle.

Saturn’s energies also deals with accountability and the house or houses that it retrogrades through will make you answerable to these specific areas of life being tested.  Saturn tends to test you and if you failed to do what you should have been doing during its direct motion, you may be held accountable for your actions or non-action when Saturn again turns direct.  If, on the other hand, you were working with the energies of Saturn while in direct motion, the areas of life dictated by house position will offer rewards for due diligence and hard work.  Saturn rewards when applicable.

In closing, Saturn direct offers opportunities to move ahead in life although with some caution attached to the process.  Saturn retrograde suggests a time for evaluation and planning and then to move ahead with caution once Saturn moves direct again and when other planets may trigger potential activities.

NEW MOON JANUARY 24 2020

We will experience a New Moon today, January 24, in the sign of Aquarius at 4 degrees.  Aquarius is a fixed air sign.  Aquarius has to do with innovation and futuristic ideas that in many cases are revolutionary. 

Aquarius is an air sign so conversation and open dialogue is highly suggested under this new moon’s influence.  Being open is key because Aquarius is known to spread insight and its symbol is the water bearer, spreading the word and sharing information to the multitudes.

Aquarius can be impartial although considered quite fixed in opinions and learned knowledge, therefore during this period, getting involved with groups can be quite beneficial and much can be learned at this time as long as we remain open to new ideas and concepts. 

This certainly does not mean that we should be swept away by what others might share with us.  Take a grain of salt approach and form your own opinion but don’t become fixated to the point that you believe that your opinion is the only possible correct one.  Other people will have their own personal beliefs as well and we can all learn from one another.

The New Moon’s energies suggest that it is a time of new beginnings, a time for a fresh start or the implementation of something that we might have been contemplating for some time.  Now is the time to launch these ideas and move ahead as the energies are favourable to push ahead with our endeavours.  Perhaps this might be the time to move ahead with something considered unique and original.  Sharing common ideas and spreading the word would be favourable under these conditions. 

Much more information would be available with a view of our own personal chart of course but having a look at any planets or important angles that might fall within a few degrees and connect by conjunction, opposition, square, trine and sextile to the lunar event will supply us with information as to what energies are involved.  The house position will be the area of life involved as well as any connections and their house positions.

There is a square to the moon from transiting Uranus at this time as Uranus is located at 2 degrees Taurus.  Uranus tends to be disruptive and fosters much needed change.  Although Uranus often speaks of upheaval, when in square to this New Moon’s position, the energies are powerful and there is likely some difficulties associated with what is in place.  We will have to work our way through the intrusion in order to achieve what we are setting out to do.  Uranus is ruled by Aquarius so what needs to be altered may find a more easy way to be altered than if it were linked to one of the more outer planet.

Often times there is a new sense of direction implied by the energies of Uranus as things have become dormant and we need to move beyond what might feel comfortable even though it offers no clear direction at first.  Uranus pushes us where we need to go and will often impact our life in sudden and unexpected manners.  The change that may be uncomfortable today will turn out to be a blessing in disguise down the road, but it may take some time to see where it takes us.

Aquarius is farsighted so whatever our plans might be, these plans are likely to receive some opposition especially by those who oppose change.  Have a look at the house placement of Uranus at this time and also the natal positioning and aspects to it to get a clearer picture of what is unfolding under this influence.  Uranus is the awakener and the New Moon has to do with new beginnings.  Who knows where life will take us.  Most times we just need to hop aboard without any reservations, knowing that life always takes us to where we need to go.

CHALLENGING CONDITIONS FOSTERING GROWTH

During times that we feel stagnated, we are actually offered a perfect opportunity to review.  Once the review is complete, it is not unusual for a new growth spurt to be experienced. 

During these lulls, are you aware of the specific energies that are taking a leading role in your evolving story?  If you can feel their influence, you would realize that you have actually not stagnated.

It is at these times and during times that you face hurdles that you are learning to remain steadfast in your approach as well as to put into practice all that you have learned to date.  You may feel as though you are at the mercy of life but you are somehow gaining inner resolve, even though you do not quite understand what is taking place.

This struggle or stagnation will pass with lessons well learned (perseverance, patience, etc.) and you will again regain your momentum to continue on your voyage to understanding.  The fog clears and you regain your direction and stability once again.  Although these conditions did feel challenging, you have learned to have faith in the process.  You recall what has brought you to where you are now and recognize all the impacting events you have experienced before this time.  These experiences have their value for they have brought you to where you are today.

There is no doubt that these times can be challenging.  Stifling of ego will help to alleviate the negative feelings associated with these conditions.  You personally do not feel lost or restrained.  It is your ego that is trying to make you believe that this is how you feel.  By identifying with its influence, you falter and as a result, you sometimes can forget your path, at least temporarily.  You will regain your momentum once you understand that ego is influencing you and affecting your attitude.

Do not get caught up in this illusionary attitude.  You are far beyond that.  The ego is simply grasping for control.  Hold on to your truth and ride the wave.  It won’t last much longer. 

Remind yourself that this is a period in life that is offered up to reflection.  It is a time to reflect on where you have come from, what you have learned and to ready yourself for what is ahead.  You are to simply listen to the inner or higher voice that suggests that this is a requirement and that reflection is the key.  Enjoy the experience!  Utilize it to its fullest.

TRANSITING PLUTO IN OPPOSITION TO THE NATAL SUN

Transiting Pluto moves very slowly through the zodiac, moving a little over one degree on average per year.  This means that if you allow a 4-5 degree orb of influence when applying (approaching direct) and a 2 degree orb separating (from being direct), you could have Pluto in opposition to your Sun for as much as 3-4 years depending on its placement.  The time when Pluto is direct will be when its influence will be at its peak.

Pluto has been in the sign of Capricorn for several years and will remain in this sign until approximately 2023. 

Capricorn’s energies focus on a slow climb up the ladder of success.  It also speaks of a steady approach to life, never missing any rungs that are relevant to this climb.  Slow and steady wins the race and whether this race is of the energies of the seventh house of relationships, in the twelfth house of spirituality, or in the second house of finances for example, Pluto will have you dig up any unresolved issues that might be hindering your climb to success within these life areas.

Capricorn is not a risk taker.  It is predictable in its nature, although subtle in its actions.  It prefers to remain in the background and will apply itself at the most opportune moments when its impact will be felt the most.  It can be low key although when it speaks, people generally listen.  It is not very flexible although persistent when in pursuit of a cause.  It is comfortable in taking the long route and adheres to lessons learned along the way.  It is ambitious and will pursue a course of action with great determination stopping at nothing until it reaches its goal.

The Sun is our energy drive, our need to prove ourselves in ambitious terms.  It acts as a catalyst for success and pushes us forward.  Much depends on its natal placement and sign, and using these energies, it will push in the intended direction.  The Sun is the ego drive and the will to achieve.  It is also our inner most self.  The Sun is quite different from our ascendant sign which is our face we reveal to the world.  The Sun’s energies are tied to who we are at our core and the driving force behind this persona.  Our goal is to unite the Moon, the Sun and the Ascendant in order to be whole and also to connect with our Moon’s nodes, in relation to our objectives in life.

When transiting Pluto is in opposition to our Sun, we have to watch for becoming involved in power struggles with others—do not forget the Sun is our will.  Sometimes we may be so caught up in finding our course that we may push others in a direction that only suits us.  We will need to pay particular attention during this transit to make sure we take into consideration other peoples’ needs.  Oppositions usually involve other people.  Watch for a desire to dominate others or watch for others attempting to dominate us.  There is often a great need to prove ourselves correct and to win the argument or our position on the matter.  Being open and discussing things appropriately is the best way to move through these challenging conditions.  This is particularly true in close personal relationships, both romantic as well as business.

On the positive end of this opposition, if we pursue our goals in a forthright manner and are open to assistance and to listening to advice, this opposition can bring great rewards for hard work and persistent efforts.  Our ambitious self is amplified during this period and we will want to prove something to people in authority or even people who are our subordinates.  Watch for power struggles with people in authority as they will have the upper hand and can shut us down when they feel the opposition is too aggressive.

 We must take care of ourselves physically during this time as the amount of energies applied can be overwhelming. 

Sometimes people get run down during these times or have personal issues because of the need to win at almost any cost.  Practice patience and keep the temper under control.  Using the appropriate action will win us favours and also show our positive characteristics.  Take it slow and watch for adversity and always use the energies of any transit to further your cause and to assist others.

CLINGING TO YESTERDAY

There are many individuals who get caught up in the past.   They spend countless hours reminiscing, and they wish they could go back to that time.  They think of those times as the good old days. 

Do you realize that this particular point in time will be the good old days in twenty years from now?  Rather than looking back at what once was, take a much closer look at what is, right now! 

Look closely at what is right in front of you, in this moment and pay particular attention to what feels right.  We can be so accustomed to complaining about what we do not like or have that we ignore those things that we can be grateful for.

Time waits for no one and if we spend our lives living in the past or wishing we were there, we are no longer living as we are missing out on the eternal moment and the magnificence of what is happening now.  The moment is all we have and our attention to this is paramount. 

Do not spend another moment thinking about what was, for what was is in the past.  Do not waste your time worrying about what might come in the future for what we worry about seldom comes to fruition.  If you hold on to yesterday, you halt what potentially lies in today.  You cannot move forward without letting go of the past.  The past can include people, memories, wishes, dreams, ways of life ...anything that you tend to cling on to.

Live for today!  Experience your life by living it.  Do not squander the opportunities of today.  It is your birthright to be happy.  Believe this and allow.  Happiness can only be found in the present moment. 

Believe in your potential for happiness.  This potential lies within your focus on all that is and this serves you well.  If life feels difficult, what is the lesson to be learned?  Once you are able to figure out the lesson, you can then acknowledge it and let it go. 

Enjoy this moment. Appreciate it and all that it holds.

May you simply allow and bringing into focus a wonderful “today”.
