NEW MOON AUGUST 18 2020

We will be experiencing a New Moon in the sign of Leo at 26 degrees 35 minutes at 10:41 p.m. EDT on August 18, 2020.  A New Moon’s energies are about new beginnings and things that relate to the sign of Leo’s should be high on the agenda to concentrate your energies on.  It is time to plan your goals and formulate an action plan and set it in motion.

 

Leo, the natural ruler of the fifth house, deals with your creative expression, your or other people’s children that have an influence during this time, your romantic involvement and the sheer act of enjoying what life offers especially those things that bring your inner child to the surface. 

 

Leo is a proud sign and likes to take charge, taking responsibility and making things happen.  Anything that stems from the heart and is well-intended can be pursued at this time.  Make sure you are using the energies in such a way that it builds your own personal confidence or in ways that you can help others to enhance their own personal confidence.  Lending a helping hand, offering advice, giving without measure, and taking pride in your own accomplishments as well as the accomplishments of others are all strong positive influences attributed to Leo.

 

Set goals for yourself that might be a bit lofty but not unreachable.  Act upon that love affair that has been brewing for some time now.  Love and share your life with others but watch for being taken advantage of by those of lessor intent.  Give for the sake of giving, wishing nothing in return not even appreciation, and making sure that ego is not overly involved. 

 

Mercury is at 27 degrees Leo and is conjunct this position of the Sun and Moon indicating that the mental processing can be very helpful, and your ideas might be right on target.  The mind is stimulated and extends into whatever area of life that is being affected (indicated by the house position of Mercury and this New Moon’s placement in your natal chart).  Emphasis is placed on mental processing and understanding what needs to take place and even how to go about doing it.

 

The North Node is Sextile to this lunar positioning at 27 degrees Gemini, so this would be a good time to follow your heart and make plans that fit the path that is most suitable at this time.  The North Node is our path forward and can indicate important people coming into our lives that help with direction and action plans that point us in the right direction.

 

Mars is trine this position at 24 degrees in the sign of Aries.  Mars is about advancement and promotion and is in place when we need to move ahead.  This can be tied to romantic involvement, and although you may feel the desire to move quickly into a situation, be sure you weigh all the details out carefully before plunging into action.  Aries and Mars want to be the first ones in on whatever is taking place.

 

Saturn is inconjunct this position at 26 degrees Capricorn suggesting adjustments are necessary and some challenge lies ahead.  With proper preparation and an action plan, even though the adjustment may be somewhat difficult, you can set up things so that the potential future of whatever it is you are planning on moving towards will have some reliability and then stabilize over the long haul.

 

All is quite good but take some time to restructure if necessary and look and think before you jump. Potential awaits those that are ready to propel ahead and move in the appropriate direction.

SOLAR RETURN CHART

Recently we have had questions concerning Astrological Solar Return Chart. 

 

A Solar Return Chart is generally prepared at the time of an individual’s birthday, although it can be prepared at any time.  A Solar Return is prepared with information on the exact day that the Sun returns to its original position in the natal chart, by the sign, degree, and minute, precisely.  So, if the Sun in the birth chart is in Capricorn at 15 degrees 12 minutes, the return position would be exactly the same during the year in focus.

 

A Solar Return Chart is prepared in similar fashion as a birth chart, as the exact timing establishes the Ascendant degree for your location on that date.  The location can be where you live or where you may happen to be on the exact day of the return, (which, again, establishes the Ascendant’s degree.)  It can be read as a birth chart although it is only focused for the year from birthday to birthday.  Some begin to feel the energies as they approach the birthday as much as 3 months prior to the actual birthday. 

 

Studying your Solar Return Chart can help you prepare for what energies which will be at hand and so you can focus on whatever areas of life will be emphasized for that year.

 

The Ascendant sign and ruling planet of the Ascendant, the Moon and its sign and house position, the Sun and its house position as well as any major configurations and tight aspects will play significant roles in the year in focus.  If the Solar Chart has many similarities to the natal chart, it will be an important year, especially if the rising sign is close in degree to the rising sign of the natal chart.

 

The Moon plays a significant role and its sign and house position along with any aspects it receives in the Solar chart.  These indicators will define our emotional makeup for the upcoming year in question.  You should also look into the aspect from the Solar chart to the natal positions, as this will help you get a clear picture of what to expect and will also provide you with timers for events and areas of life that might be involved.  Remember our natal chart is our blueprint.

 

Although the Sun is in the same sign and degree, its house placement likely will be different. There are many other facets to take into consideration but this chart on its own will define clearly what to expect in the year in focus and will often correlate with the transits and progressions to the natal chart.  It adds dimension to the overall translation of upcoming energies and events in the forecast for the year ahead.

A WARM TOUCH

 

There are so many people struggling with life issues even without our current pandemic situation. Many find themselves alone and feel they have little to no outside assistance.  They are lost in the confusion and caught up in mental focuses and expectations that have brought about challenging reactions.  Some of these difficulties are due to experiences with relationships, some are due to self-worth, some stem from a background where it didn’t seem to matter how hard they tried they were always stifled by those that meant the most to them.  Many will carry this forward into their life’s experience and continue the attitude that only serves to hinder their progress.

 

We can aid those in need.  Sometimes all they need is to know that someone cares, to express themselves or have a shoulder to lean on.  Life can be exceedingly difficult for those caught up in challenging emotional baggage.  Very few of us can truthfully say that we have not spent a moment or two in this confusing place, so we know how to truly supportive through experience. 

 

Occasionally our advice is appropriate but usually it is our ear that is required.  There are times we are guided to say the exact words that these individuals need to hear to propel them forward or away from the challenges.  We may not even be aware that what we had to say had an impact and can be the defining moment in someone’s shift.

 

We are here to experience life in its fullest terms and sometimes the ride can be bumpy.  However, we are all very resilient and, in most cases, get through challenging experiences on our own or with a little assistance from a friend or family member only to come out the other side stronger and more self-confident.  We have what it takes to get over the humps and recover a little bit wiser from the experience.  Many times, initially, we stand in our own way and the answer is right in front of us.

 

We can always be that warm touch that is needed for others.  We cannot lift others out of their difficulty, but we can offer a helping hand.  They must discover their own strength and find their way through the adverse conditions. 

 

Be that helping hand.  Be that warm touch.  Let them know that you are by their side and let them know that they will overcome and be better for it. We can offer seeds of motivation and they can water these seeds. 

 

Life’s challenges can always be met head on and overcome.

THE AWAKENING OF SELF - AGES 54-57 IN ASTROLOGY

If you are between the ages of 54-57, this post pertains to you. 

 

At this age, you would be entering a stage in life when maturity is in full bloom.  You are beginning to see yourself as an integrated whole and no longer just an extension of others.  Hopefully, you are comfortable enough that what others think is no longer important.  You are who you are and that is just fine.

 

This is a stage when you are more concerned about life itself, than living up to other people’s expectations and you are forming relationships for you.  You have come to a point where you basically know yourself and are liberated with this knowledge.  Relationships still have a place in your heart, some even deeper than anything experienced previously, but you can rid yourself of unwanted or draining relationships as well if you need too.  This is not to say that you have become cold or uncaring, quite the opposite.  You are beginning to understand what it is that you need and will form more meaningful relationships in order to build on this.

 

This period is about self-fulfillment and self-honesty.  If you have been working well within these boundaries and living your life through generosity and love, you are well on your way to a more rewarding and satisfying life.  You are on your way to the second Saturn return and you probably remember your first Saturn return around the age of 29, when you experienced life’s events to the fullest and matured immensely, coming through a period of transformation on many levels.

 

There are several astrological factors that are in effect during the ages from 54 to 57.  You will be experiencing the second progressed lunar return, which in short speaks of emotionally coming of age.  You will also be going through the Uranus trine Uranus transit, which is usually accompanied with excitement and the beginning of something new.  Neptune is also in trine to its natal position, helping you gain a more realistic point of view on where your life is heading.  For many in this age group, Pluto is also making a trine to its natal position which could be termed a life transformation when we tap into our core.  You are also going through the third nodal return at this time, which is directed towards a reorientation within and a clearer focus on life’s direction.

 

These astrological transformations taking place during this time frame usually signify deeper transformations taking place and on many different levels.  Explaining these fluctuations is basically impossible in a short post like this, but you now have an idea why life is going through changes on so many levels.

 

Enjoy the transformations taking place in your life and prepare for the next major transition to unfold as you enter the last years of your fifties.  This marks the beginning of the second Saturn return taking hold in the late fifties and many will experience huge transformations during this time frame.  Some contemplate retirement while others begin anew.  One thing is for certain this will be a fruitful time, and everything begins to materialize and gather momentum towards this second Saturn return.

LOVED ONES

Throughout life, there will be situations that we struggle with.  Most of us experience lost romance at some point, especially when we are young, and the loss is so intense that we hold on hoping that things will change and these individuals will miraculously come back to us.  Sometimes this does happen, and it is usually when we finally let go and accept.  Letting go often opens the door to what lies next.

 

As we mature and with some earlier than others, we undergo a heavy period when our parents become old and fragile and are no longer able to take care of themselves without help from outside sources.  We know that it is only a matter of time and their journey will be over.  We do our best to show them we love them and do what we can to help them in whatever ways are possible.  Eventually they pass over and we go through the process of this personal loss.  In the long run, we adjust and learn to let go, even if we know that they are energetically still with us.  We must let go of them in physical terms.

 

Some of us lose close friends and family as time passes and once again, we are faced with even more challenging conditions.  Losing our parents is emotionally hard but so is losing other family members and close friends. 

 

In some cases, we were able to prepare for the final day.  Other times, a loved one’s passing happens unexpectedly, and we might not even have had a chance to say our goodbyes.  Our loved ones certain want us to move along and let go of what was.  As hard as it may be, it is imperative that we live in the present and let go of what was but that doesn’t mean we cannot carry the love.

 

These events can be emotionally difficult, and no one can tell anyone how to deal with these situations.  We must reach deep within and find our own answers and go through our own process.  The one thing in common to all these experiences is that we have to accept, let go and move on.  Some hold on to the pass so tightly.  They feel they cannot let go of what was and then they forget to live themselves.

 

We will never forget but time and acceptance does soften the rough edges. 

 

If we look at death realistically, it is inevitable.   Yes, it is important to mourn our losses (as the mourning is for what we will miss not the loved one that has passed on) but then remember to celebrate the individual that we loved so dearly and be grateful for all that was shared with them.  Would they not want us to celebrate them as opposed to suffering because of their graduation to the next level of their existence? 

 

Our loved ones are never far away and when we think of them, they are even closer.  Do not be afraid or uncomfortable talking to them.  They hear you and communicate with you in their own way.

 

If you are at a crossroad and someone near and dear has passed on, acceptance will open doors that would otherwise be closed.  Acceptance allows us to keep living.  Our recovery period awaits us.  Acknowledge deep in our hearts that we are strong enough to see this through. 

 

We are never alone, and we can always reach out for help if we are having difficulty finding our own light. 

 

Our loved ones are at our side always. 

 

Live within each moment in time.  Appreciate life’s wonders as they are ever present if we choose to see them.  Life is to be lived. Life is to be celebrated, not mourned.

TRANSITING SATURN (RETROGRADE) THROUGH THE HOUSES

  

We are continuing our look at Saturn from August 7, 2020, when we touched on Saturn Retrograde.  Today we will focus on the houses and their influence with transiting Saturn Retrograde.

 

Saturn in the tenth speaks strongly of opportunities with the career and personal status.  Saturn in the second speaks of potential for extra income and opportunities to establish yourself which in turn provides a greater feeling of satisfaction and security.  Saturn in the sixth speaks of opportunities to make personal changes in the working environment and with co-workers.  In some cases, you can seek out help from those who you work with, if this is a requirement.

 

If you find Saturn while in retrograde passing over your Ascendant or moving through the first house, this can be a time of personal improvement and establishing yourself by how you represent yourself to the public.  Saturn in retrograde passing over the Ascendant might be a time you push yourself to join an exercise program and decide to look after your body as sometimes when Saturn moves over the Ascendant (the health centre) in direct motion it can indicate some struggles in health related matters.  Other factors, however, must be in place for this to have any real profound effects on the body.

 

If Saturn is moving through the seventh house this is a time for self-improvement and this can have effects on your marriage and with close personal relationships and even business partnership.  You can have a serious approach to what needs to be done and how to go about doing what needs revamping.  Saturn is always serious and there are no halfway measures about what it asks you to do.  See this as an opportunity time, a time to improve conditions in your life and a time when you can rid yourself of unwanted material that now makes up part of who you are.  As Saturn passes over the IC this will be the strongest effect unless you have other planets in the seventh house.

 

If Saturn is moving through the third house this might be a time for study and making changes to your everyday activities.  Perhaps higher education is on the profile especially if the ninth house is part of the message being sent.  Listen carefully to what your mind is telling you and abide.  This time can have profound effects down the road and what you do now will make a difference later on. 

 

If Saturn is moving through the fifth house or affecting the fifth house by aspect, then this might be a time to tighten up your relationship with your lover.  It may be a time to move to the next level or if the relationship is poor and cannot be repaired perhaps this is the time to let go and move on.  Your children being part of the fifth house influence may be an area of focus and perhaps you might want to lighten up on them, give them more breathing room and know that they are on their own road as you are.  Sometimes they need to learn from their own mistakes.  Saturn is the greatest teacher although the lessons brought forth may not be that enjoyable.

 

If Saturn is in the eighth house or the twelfth perhaps this is a time for deep inner reflection and relying more on your intuitive insights and learning how to find yourself in a more deep and profound level of understanding.  Saturn in the eighth can speak of dealings with shared matters including joint finances and this can be a time when you make changes or decide to join forces in order to make your money work better for you.  On the contrary you may want to separate your funds from your partner and become more self-sufficient.

 

Saturn in the eleventh or affecting planets in the eleventh may speak of joining a group of people who are like minded and share the same or similar interests as you.  This may be business related and affect you in personal terms as time passes.  Shared interest groups can help in many areas and it is never too late to join in with those that share your personal space and time.

 

These indicators of course are just preliminary and surface.  Life runs much deeper, but this provides you with insight on how to use Saturn in a positive sense especially while in its retrograde cycle.

SATURN RETROGRADE (Part one)

Saturn has been in its retrograde cycle since May 11, 2020 and will remain in this cycle until it goes direct on September 29, 2020.  It will be moving from almost 2 degrees Aquarius down to 25 degrees Capricorn and enter Aquarius once again in direct motion on December 19, 2020. 

 

Saturn has an orb from 5 degrees approaching and 2 degrees separating when it is affecting your natal positions.  Some Astrologers suggest that when Saturn is two degrees past direct, it is at its strongest influence.  As a result, let’s say that you have a planet at 26 degrees.  It then would be at its strongest at 28 degrees when dealing with Saturn.  This is due to its delaying effects.  You be the judge of when Saturn is at its peak influence.

 

Saturn unlike other planets operates at its premium while in retrograde motion.  Saturn while in retrograde still presents some restrictions and delays but with an extra effort the results can be more rewarding, and the time spent more productive.  Saturn presents obstacles and roadblocks wherever it is in the natal chart, and depending on the aspect configuration, will be the area of life that is under some pressure and requires the most work to overcome.

 

Since Saturn will primarily be in the sign of Capricorn and this time frame is also when it leaves Capricorn not to return to this sign for approximately 29 years, we will discuss some of the effects a Capricorn Saturn might have.  Capricorn is associated with career and work duties and may also speak of the working environment itself especially if the sixth house is involved.  Capricorn has to do with duty, obligation and responsibility one might have in the working environment.

 

During its retrograde cycle, this might be a good time to think about career shifts or more duties and an increased workload.  Although some of this may not be too pleasant this can be a time when you receive recognition for your hard, diligent effort.  You always have to do the work when you speak of Saturn issues or related subjects. 

 

Opportunities may be coming your way if you use these energies appropriately.  Do not forget this is when Saturn’s positive energies can be released and if you put forth the effort you may enhance your chances of moving in a direction that is more fulfilling and offers up growth down the road.  Saturn while in retrograde will help build a more solid foundation that often stands the test of time.

 

Because of added responsibility or more of a work load, you may find that you are more resilient and have greater inner strength than you might have thought possible.  Saturn often offers rewards of significance where due and during this period this may come to the surface.  However, it will as always be in your hands and you can not expect someone else to do the work for you.  You are responsible for your own life.

 

You may find that the potential for an increase in income is possible although once again you have to prepare, set goals and think about the route you might want to take.  Do not sit back and wait.  Now is the time to move forward with your plans if you have been formulating a plan of action prior to now.  Things may flow more smoothly now than when Saturn goes direct once again in September, but do not rush.  Rushing is never a good idea when Saturn is involved.
