Our Influence On Others

Many feel that our freedom is being compromised with confinement requirements due to the pandemic and that the whole epidemic situation is largely exaggerated.

Others believe that this is a pandemic of epic proportions and that gloom and doom prevail.  For some worry and fear are everyday experiences.

Our personal view on the pandemic and government regulations are not being evaluated in this post as we all can make our own decisions regarding what is unfolding in our lives.

We are more focused on our impact on others.  We have seen in our own experiences that many people are being affected, (physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually).

It can be extremely difficult to follow the rules we are asked to follow.   Regardless of your personal beliefs, what we do or do not do impacts others.

We share this existence and influence others by how we live, what we think and what we do and what we do not do.

Our influence spreads and what you do and say can have a powerful influence on others.  We are certainly not just referring to health concerns with this post.  Our influence and example can change other’s lives forever.

Our impact on others is inevitable.  Sometimes we lose sight of this and need a reminder.  What will your impact be?

ASCENDANT RULER, ITS SIGN AND HOUSE PLACEMENT

The Ascendant in our natal chart is formulated by our time of birth, while the Midheaven is formulated by our place of birth.

The Ascendant in short defines our external expression to the world.  It is what a person sees when we first meet them.  It can define our appearance, can denote our grandparents, speaks of our vitality (along with the Sun and other components in our natal chart) and is often quite different from our Sun sign expression.  If we have a soft Sun sign like Capricorn or Pisces, an Ascendant sign of Aries or Leo will over-ride some of the more soft character traits or more subdued traits defined by these Sun signs.  This is why some people do not identify well with their Sun sign or visa versa, do not identify well with their Rising sign.

When we are describing our Ascendant sign it is important to take into consideration its natural ruler and which house this ruler resides in, within our natal chart.  For example, if you have a rising sign (Ascendant sign) of Capricorn, you will have to see where its ruler (Saturn) is placed in your natal chart.   Once you locate this house position, you will be able to further define how you represent yourself including Saturn and its significant characteristics as well as how this would be defined in its house position.

Saturn for example, suggesting a Capricorn Ascendant, found in the second house, depending on the aspects to Saturn, may suggest a critical view of the potential for success in finances, or if favourably aspected, a secure financial foundation.  If poorly aspected, this may surface as someone who has low self-esteem, someone who is unsure of themselves, and in turn, creating security issues, which may be reflected in their ability to do well when it comes to financial matters.  Someone with a favourably placed Saturn in the second house may do well in the financial world, building a solid financial base over time and as a result feel secure about themselves.

Our example is just one expression of how Saturn might be reflected in the second house and it is important to know that although Saturn will often suggest challenging conditions linked to the area of life where it is found (house position) we can always find ways to work our way through these obstacles.  Saturn usually means that there are lessons in that area of life as well as gain secured through a diligent effort on our part.  Saturn is the disciplinarian but it is also the teacher and our greatest ally to the building of a solid structure as time passes.  Saturn often delays or restricts, but can be quite favourable once we decide to work at what needs our attention.

Another example might be someone with a Sagittarius Ascendant with Jupiter in the fourth house in their natal chart.  This individual might appear to be overly optimistic, a freedom lover, a believer in finding the truth, a philosopher to others, and someone who may say things without considering what impact their words may have on others (foot in mouth disease).  When we take into consideration Jupiter in the fourth house, these attributes may be seen through family and friends or they may try to push these qualities or learned experiences onto their family.  They may also find luck and opportunities somehow related to their home environment perhaps earning potential through property or good luck attached to the home or land investments.

Adding to this information in our example, in their outer expression, these Sag Rising individuals may be verbal about their family and proud of their heritage and may also be optimistic about their family and proud of their children’s attributes.  They may also come across as caring and nurturing as well as psychic in their expression, remembering that the natural ruler of the fourth house is Cancer.  While in the former example the natural ruler of the second is Taurus, so building a proper foundation would be important for this individual and they may also be somewhat withdrawn or appear to be holding back in their expression.

I hope these examples have helped to explain the importance of the Ascendant’s natural ruler and the house this ruler resides in within our natal chart.

OBSTACLES OR LESSONS

Our personal road of life can be littered with challenging conditions and difficult situations.  It is our obligation to ourselves to learn the lessons put in front of us and to see them as that.  They are not meant to be complications; they are lessons for us to learn to the best of our abilities and to provide us with motivation.  Regardless of the lessons (even if we choose to see them as obstacles that stand in our way), it is imperative to move forward.

There will be times when we believe we have no way out and our options are limited at best.  It is during these times that we have to remain diligent and know that the most challenging of these lessons/situations can still be learned and overcome with a positive and focused attitude.

Some conditions in life offer no way out except our acceptance of the situation.  These may be lifelong lessons.  Again, our attitude plays a significant part in our response to these situations and to our life moving forward.  Acceptance may not alter the outcome but it will facilitate peace.  Acceptance fosters a gentle knowing that life is as life is.

Some situations may not be easy and in some cases, they seem to offer up nothing that assists in our growth.  We can change what we can change, particularly our attitude, but those things that cannot be change, we have to accept and move on.   Situations, at times, can be tough, but most times life may be pushing us to change or adjust.

When we come face to face with the lesson, learning it may not be near as difficult as we thought it would be.  Our mind plays games with us and we fabricate all kinds of outcomes that rarely manifest (except in our minds).

Changes are inevitable.  On some level, we have to find the strength to move through these lessons.  Our attitude is our greatest companion or our most feared enemy.

Armed with determination and a good attitude towards our life lessons, we come out the other side with a greater understanding.  We can move through the most unbearable of situations and come out stronger and more resilient on the other side.

We are born fighters.  Even our entry into this existence was a hard-fought battle.  We can always learn our lessons.  Never lose sight of the potentials that lie ahead.  Stay strong throughout the lessons and know that on some level you will always emerge victorious, always!

INNER PLANETS IN TRANSIT

When we are dealing with the transits of inner planets, which would include the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars, their influence is often of minor significance, as they pass quickly through the heavens.  An inner planet moving direct, without retreating in its retrograde cycle, can have a lasting effect of up to eight days when making contact, as long as there are other factors influencing our chart with the same energies.  Mars and Venus can last as much as 6-8 days depending on the orb of influence you allow.

In general, although transits from outer planets can be felt up to and including 5-7 degrees approaching, some people are even sensitive to their influence before this time.  The influence of these planets are in force as much as 2-3 degrees when they are separating.  The orbs are about the same or a little less with inner planetary transits.  Mercury, Venus and Mars move approximately one degree per day as well as the Sun which moves roughly one degree and one minute each day.

The Sun and Mars, however, are often used as timers in Astrology and can set off an outer planetary transit while in orb which can be quite impacting.  I have personally known of someone who had transiting Pluto in opposition to natal Uranus which was in the seventh house and at the same time they had transiting Mars directly in conjunction with Pluto which was also conjunct with their natal Mercury.  During this contact, this individual had experienced the death of someone very close to them.  As you can see, transiting Mars played a big part in this unfolding story.  This does not mean that when Mars and Pluto form a conjunction, or any other challenging aspect, that the potential for an important death will be part of the picture.  With this particular individual, they were in opposition to Uranus and Uranus was in the 7th house and natal Pluto was found in the eighth house.  The progressed Moon was also making an aspect of significance as well as other indicators in the personal chart of the individual that passed over on that particular day.  There need to be many indicators in charts when something as drastic as this would happen.

Mars, depending on which planet and what angle, can signify an event that should be guarded against.  In some cases, this can be a violent action or aggressive individual or an accident.

In other cases when Mars is making favorable aspects to natal planets it may be a time to move forward or act.  Mars, as well as the Sun, can help initiate something important in life and if we take advantage of the energies at hand and use them appropriately, we can move ahead in our pursuit.  Planned action is always suggested.

The progressed Moon and especially Transiting Uranus also speak of the timing of events.  Mercury on its own will have little impact while in transit as it needs to pick up energies from other planets in the chart to even become detectable.

Venus and Mars have a stronger influence, particularly Mars, although they are more noticeable when they are making a conjunction, square, or opposition to a planet or angle in the birth chart.

ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS

If you find yourself in a relationship that is harmful, emotionally or physically, but feel you must keep on giving, because it’s the right thing to do, you need to examine why you feel this way.  Be truthful with yourself.  How can emotional or physical abuse be valuable in any way?

All relationships have issues that must be dealt with.  It is imperative to deal with the issues before they grow.  Abuse can move forward in baby steps until a relationship no longer looks as it once did.

Once abuse is seen as “normal” in a relationship, the abused is too afraid to walk away or they feel they have too much invested to walk away.

Ask yourself “Am I happy?”, “Am I safe?”  Be honest with yourself.  Evaluate the circumstances you live under.

Perhaps there are also children subject to witnessing or experiencing these events as well.  Do we want them growing up thinking this lifestyle is normal?  What lasting effects will result?

If your partner is not willing to make changes, review your priorities and see things as they are.  Love yourself enough to take action with your best interests in mind.

You are entitled to a life of peace and love.  Any thoughts of retribution or denial or even thoughts of self-worth will need to be questioned.  Do not hesitate to reach out for professional assistance.

Your future is waiting for you.  Release the past in order to live today.  Give yourself permission to make changes.

You have the strength within.  Do not doubt yourself.  Believe!  You are worth it.

TRANSITS FROM URANUS AND NEPTUNE WITH SUN IN LIBRA

(Mini Forecast)

Transiting Uranus and Neptune are both making quincunxes to the Sun for those individuals with their Sun in the sign of Libra.  Transiting Uranus is at 9 and 10 degrees in the sign of Taurus in retrograde, while Neptune is in the sign of Pisces which went direct yesterday, October 4, 2020, at 22 degrees.  Uranus stays in retrograde until January 14, 2021, and moves from 10 degrees down to 6 degrees of Taurus.

The quincunx or inconjunct is an aspect of 150 degrees.  You can allow 2-3-degree orb when approaching your Sun (or any other planet in your natal chart) and an orb of 1-2 degrees while separating.

The Quincunx is considered a minor aspect although when it is direct to any planet including the Sun, it is considered quite difficult and challenging.  It has to do with the need for redirecting the energies of the planets involved, as it feels as though the energies cannot merge with one another.  You need to redirect the energies in such a way that the areas of life defined by the house positions can integrate with one another and work together.  This takes adjustment on your part and as these energies are not something that is hidden or weak, they force you into action or are pushing you into action (similar to the way a square operates).  First, however, you need to become aware of the energies in place and then move forward in redirecting them in a more cohesive manner and this can be difficult.

Uranus in the sign of Taurus seeks to redefine and assimilate something new and original into your life that offers both stability and structure but at the same time also conveys information that the way things were, now needs adjustment.  Uranus seeks the new and pushes us in the direction that is more suitable for our ongoing evolutionary quest for understanding.

Neptune in the sign of Pisces is at home as this is the ruling planet of Pisces.  Neptune in its lower octave speaks about disillusion and fragmented truths, often pushing us to look at life from a more realistic approach although vision and intuition play a strong part in the unfolding.  Because this is a challenging aspect, it will be important to view the areas of life involved from a practical, sensible, and accurate point of view.  Do not be led by illusion and look at the area of life indicated by house placement with clarity although this will be difficult as feelings and insight can deflect from what is real.

The Sun has to do with our path in life and our objectives and goals that we set for ourselves.  The Sun is a personal planet in that it is our life force and who we are internally which may be revealed to outside sources or may be kept private depending on the individual.  Because the Sun, in this case, is in the sign of Libra the area of relationship may be a huge part under scrutiny at this time.  There is a need for adjustment and perhaps reconciliation and fairness and of course justice when it comes to matters of importance.  There is a need to find balance and harmony but through a new alignment or alteration when Uranus is involved and the need for honest interpretation when Neptune is part of the picture.

This can also relate to business associations, social interaction, the need for refinement and things of beauty but above all else the need for peace and balance.  Do not try to deflect what needs alignment.  Work towards a resolution that is fair and just.  Work with others but also make sure that your needs and objectives are part of what unfolds in a favorable manner.  It may likely be a difficult one to maneuver your way through.

Do not forget that transiting Uranus will go direct in January, 2021, so you may have to go through the process once again as it crosses your Sun for the third time, once when direct, once when in retrograde and once when direct again. The final pass, however, will see you through the resolution.

Check to see if Neptune or Uranus is within orb of your Libra Sun.

PLUTO IN TRANSIT

Pluto’s abilities to transform and regenerate are highlighted when it is traveling through the birth chart.  There is nothing subtle about Pluto’s influence and you will be quite aware that something needs to be changed or altering when it makes contact.  Pluto’s energies are abrupt and disruptive in their actions and the changes that Pluto is putting on the table need to be reworked and transformed so they fit life better.  When Pluto is finished transiting through a house or linking up with a planetary placement, its energies will have significantly changed things and usually in a very permanent manner.

Pluto is associated with actual death and is usually present in some way when someone passes over.  It does not always mean literal death, but it does mean that a condition or life element is no longer suitable and change is needed.  Therefore it does signify the death or end of a situation and then the beginning of something new.

Pluto, as mentioned, is not subtle in its release and sometimes you have opportunities to make these changes, and other times they just happen with little or no control over the situation.

If Pluto links up with Mars or Uranus, care is required and focus on not putting yourselvf into dangers way is important.  If there is a square between these planets, there are challenging conditions due to the contact, and they come at you for a reason.

Watch for arguments and aggressive behavior especially if Mars is concerned and particularly if the aspect is an opposition.

The trine and sextile aspects are not as aggressive and usually suggest transformation at a high level and although somewhat challenging to accept, these transformations will benefit you in the long haul.

Uranus is more unpredictable and this is the one you need to watch, if, for example, you are driving a motorized vehicle.  Operate with more care than normal and never rush.  Do not rush out to drive in fits of anger or after an argument.  Take the time to settle yourself down.  If you are confronted by an aggressive individual, do not put up a fight unless you have little choice.  It is best to walk away whenever possible under this influence.

These, of course, are extreme cases and normally, there have to be other aspects suggesting much of the same before these energies are released in a powerful way.  There needs to be at least 3 aspects in a chart all saying the same thing before things necessarily happen and much depends on the other planets involved and the angles they are making.

However, it can be a rather tumultuous experience and you will learn a lot from it.  It seems to be human nature that we learn much more from adverse life conditions than the mild and mellow experiences.

We may have to spend a little time meditating on how the energies can be released in a more gentle and positive manner.
