SATURN IN RETROGRADE AND DIRECT MOTION

Saturn is the planet of restriction, delays, obstacles, and hard work. It is known as the task maker or the teacher of the Zodiac. Saturn by birth position usually shows an area of life that we must work at to make things succeed. If Saturn is poorly aspected in the birth chart, this is exaggerated, although Saturn also offers rewards for those with diligent work ethics.

 

Saturn while in its direct motion through transit suggests that there will be time delays, limitations, and boundaries to overcome, unlike most planets in their direct cycle. When Saturn turns retrograde which is about 140 days a year, its energies are quite the contrary. The retrograde motion of Saturn may be a time when you feel less restricted and held back, although signing agreements or making major decisions is not recommended. This is a time when you can rethink what action you can take to facilitate growth when the timing is better. This is a planning stage when you can take great strides forward when other planets trigger the appropriate timing factors. 

 

You must watch that you are not guided by feelings of guilt under the Saturn retrograde motion. 

 

While Saturn is in its direct motion (which ends May 22, 2021) you can make some decisions that will have a profound effect over the course of time.  Saturn’s reaction is slow but steady and although restrictions and some delays are still present because there are lessons to be learned, there is an opportunity to move ahead with long range plans. 

 

Saturn has been linked to our Karmic destiny and intuition is not part of its expression.  Saturn deals directly with the mind and the thinking process, although Mercury is strongly tied to the operation of the mind and thinking.  While Saturn is in retrograde, you are asked to learn lessons and these lessons are likely to be learned by the time Saturn moves into direction motion.  This is a time to set goals and take serious responsibility for your actions.

 

Saturn has a 29-year cycle and is usually retrogrades about 15 degrees in each sign. It moves into retrograde up to 8-9 degrees during its cycle. As Saturn is linked with achievement, ambition and delivers what is truly deserved, when the Sun (also linked to ambition) through transit aspects Saturn, its square to Saturn often brings some struggles concerning your goals and aspirations. If it trines Saturn, the blended energies of the Sun and Saturn offer some stability in these areas.

 

Saturn in its retrograde cycle is somewhat like Jupiter, in that it offers opportunities to succeed in your endeavours and planning is a fundamental action while Saturn goes through its retrograde motion. The normal cautionary application of Saturn is softened during its retrograde cycle.

 

Saturn’s energies also deal with accountability and the house or houses that it retrogrades through will make you answerable to these specific areas of life being tested. Saturn tends to test you and if you failed to do what you should do during its direct motion, you may be held accountable for your actions or non-action. If, on the other hand, you were working with the energies of Saturn while in direct motion, the areas of life dictated by house position will offer rewards for due diligence and hard work. Saturn rewards when applicable.

 

In closing, Saturn direct offers opportunities to move ahead in life although with some caution attached to the process. Saturn retrograde suggests a time for evaluation and planning and then to move ahead with caution once Saturn moves direct again and when other planets may trigger potential activities.  Remember Saturn will not tolerate shortcuts.

A TIME FOR NEW BEGINNINGS

 Never saddle yourself with a belief structure that all good things come to an end and there is no hope for a promising future.  Beliefs and opinions tie you down and can hold you back.  Alternatively, beliefs and opinions can propel you forward.  It is up to each of us to decide which attitude we prefer to adhere to.  It is up to us which train of thought we will follow and we must remember that over time, these beliefs take on their own life. 

 

You are only at the mercy of your beliefs when you choose to follow thoughts that do not enhance your life’s picture.  We can get lost in the mind’s constant interpretation of things and events.

 

We can follow any train of thought that we choose.

 

When anything comes to an end, the door opens for something new.  It is up to each of us whether we walk through the doorway or turn and walk away.  Sometimes we are pulls easily through and other times we must make an effort to move forward.  To sit and wait is not suggested.  In most cases, we have to take that step on our own to move ahead in life.  We have to make an effort to let go of what is holding us back, even if this means letting go of something we really want to hold on to.  If we have outgrown the current situation or if life has changed our circumstances, it is imperative that we let it go and move forward.

 

It serves no purpose wallowing in grief or sitting on the sideline.  That is not living.  Growth always takes work on our part, but it is always worth the effort. 

 

Sometimes things take time to unfold.  Patience is key.  Always leave the door open and when the energies are right, life will begin to shift.

 

There is always a time for new beginnings.  Each and every day is a new beginning and holds unlimited potential.  Do what must be done.  Lay the groundwork.  Make your plans.  Stand your ground but be flexible when need be.  Live your life and recognize your purpose.  Life is always in your hands.

NORTH NODE IN LEO

Today we are continuing our focus on the North Node and will look specifically at North Node in Leo. Please read our introduction contained in our post on November 30  www.holmastrology.com/apps/blog/show/49548847-north-node-in-aries to get an understanding of the overall influence of the North and South Nodes. It will assist you in understanding the information we are about to provide for the North Node in Leo.

 

With the North Node in the fixed, fire sign of Leo, your South Node would be in the fixed, air sign of Aquarius.  Fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) are energetic, action-oriented signs.  In many cases they are leaders, not followers, and this can be said with confidence when defining North Node in Leo.  Let us not forget that the North Node is new to the individual with NN in Leo and some of its characteristics are not familiar yet depending on the evolution of their journey.

 

The purpose behind our North Node’s signature is and will be to formulate a plan of action throughout our lives that points us in the direction of what the North Node’s energies symbolize.  With NN Leo, these individuals are here to learn about leadership and finding their place in society to facilitate some form of recognition and in some cases notoriety.

With the South Node in Aquarius, in a previous life of significance, NN Leo were a bit bohemian in their nature.  They walked their own road and did not need the confidence of others to maneuver their way through life.  They may have worked within groups and may also have been a leader, but likely not one that wanted any real recognition for your efforts.  NN Leo previously likely worked on humanitarian causes and for the benefit of others perhaps on a grand scale.  Now, however, NN Leo can use these credentials to propel selves forward.  Some have a built-in confidence and others will need to develop this.

 

The path NN Leo takes is largely found in the placement by house position of their North Node as this will be the area of life that can enable them to accelerate their North Node objectives.  If for example their North Node is in the ninth house, NN Leo will find what they are looking for from other cultures or through religion and spirituality and perhaps might think about publishing some written material that they have created.  Continued education can expedite or assist them in reaching their objectives and life’s philosophies that will enhance this journey. FULL MOON - FEBRUARY 27, 2021

We will be experiencing a Full Moon on February 27, 2021, at 3:19 a.m. EST in the sign of Virgo at almost 9 degrees.  On the same date transiting Saturn will be at 8 degrees in the sign of Aquarius making a quincunx to the Full Moon’s position and transiting Uranus is at 7 degrees Taurus making a trine to this placement.

 

A Full Moon is suggestive of a culmination point or the time to reap the harvest of what was begun approximately 6 months ago when we had a New Moon in the same sign. 

 

Virgo’s energies are about definition, accuracy and working towards an objective.  This objective will be revealed by the house placement of this Full Moon in your natal chart.  The house speaks in terms of the area of life involved.

 

Virgo is about hard work and disciplined efforts where no corners are cut, and we apply ourselves to the project at hand.  Sometimes this speaks of service on some level and/or organizing matters.  Everything must be in its proper place before we feel satisfied and we seek perfection although it may never be obtainable.  We see all the little flaws along the way and can be a little too narrow minded wanting everything to be exactly as we had planned.

 

These energies can be in personal terms or with relationships of significance if the first or seventh houses are involved.  It can be about finances or shared resources and stability if the second or eight houses are part of the picture.  It can be about studies and education and possibly travel if the third house or the ninth are involved or about home and family and goals and your career if the fourth or tenth houses are affected.  Finally, if the fifth house or the eleventh houses are involved then this may be about your children, romance or friendships and group involvement.  This of course is a short list of what the houses imply.

 

The quincunx to Saturn suggests that some adjustment is necessary, and this may pertain to the work you have been striving to make perfect.  This can be challenging as last-minute details are not what Virgo likes to become involved with.  A continuation on some level is often implied. 

 

The trine to Uranus suggests that the potential for this turning out favorably is higher than normal and although change can be difficult, a new path is often ahead.  Expect unexpected events to unfold that point the way forward.  Easier flow is indicated and the potential for opportunities are also favorable.

A NEW DAWN

 For many it has been a slow moving, worrisome and anxious period over the past year or so.  We have been caught up in the pandemic, concerned for our fellow humans, the political arena has been volatile, job security has been less than ideal, children have been at home and the list goes on.  We have all had our share of challenging moments. 

 

There is a shift taking place and many are beginning to see hints of relief at least just around the corner.  We just need to hang on a little longer. 

 

We have experienced series of ups and downs on personal levels and have pushed our way though up to this point.  Some have had upsetting experiences to say the least and others have had their eyes opened to a harsh reality.  Yes; it has been a time that will not be easily forgotten. 

 

So, as we move towards this new horizon where will we place our focus? 

 

What will our objectives become and how will we maneuver our way forward? 

 

Let go of the past and focus on what we can do to motivate ourselves in a direction that is more suitable, more lit, more peaceful, etc.  Be open to the new as it arrives.  Create a perspective of appreciation and gratitude.  We all move together but everything for you begins with you.

 

What lies ahead is yet to be determined.  What is important is this moment, right now!  Rise above the worry and stress.  Your tomorrow hinges on what you manifest today, so focus on the now!

CURRENTLY NO PLANETS IN RETROGRADE

Currently, the last planet to go direct was Mercury on February 21, 2021.  From February 21 to May 23 there will be no planets that are in their retrograde cycle.  On the 23^rd of May, 2021, Saturn will go retrograde and then on May 29, Mercury will go retrograde once again, Jupiter and Neptune go retrograde in June. 

 

While planets are in retrograde their energies are not allowed full expression.  Saturn, however, while in retrograde, is considered more favorable than while in its direct motion.  Individuals who have all their planets in the natal chart in direct motion are allowed full expression of all the energies.  This is very positive.  Saturn, however, will make you work for your results. 

 

Having all the planets in direct motion in a natal chart is not a common experience, nor is it to have a lot of planets in retrograde.  In the birth chart, it is normal to have an estimated 2 to 3 planets in retrograde.  This also holds true for planets while in their transiting cycle.

 

The positive energies flow freely when in direct motion and this is often a good time to move forward with any plans that you have contemplate pursuing. 

 

Mercury while in retrograde suggests holding back on moving forward and is considered a time for planning and setting the stage for further development.  When it goes direct this is the time to venture forward.  

 

Venus in direct motion suggests opportunities in love and romance and being able to express yourself in a favorable manner. 

 

Mars suggests that energy, activity and the desire to push ahead is exemplified. 

 

Jupiter brings good luck and good fortune and offers expansion and growth. 

 

Saturn, however, while in direct motion suggests that hard work and a disciplined effort is required and it may take longer than what you would like to get things moving. 

 

Uranus has to do with change and advancement in technologies or humanitarian concerns.

 

Neptune can indicate psychic potential or the desire to move forward in some form of artistic venture. 

 

Pluto speaks of transformation, a new beginning and power attachments, although likely in a favorable manner.

 

It will be important to have a look at your personal natal chart to see how these planets are forming aspects within the chart and whether they can be overly advantageous or if you should move ahead with caution.  The natal chart always tells the story. 

 

It is important to use the energies of planets appropriately and in many cases, this current period will be a beneficial time to push ahead in your pursuits.
