VENUS IN RETROGRADE

 Planets in retrograde do not operate at their full potential in general. In many cases, it is a time to reflect and plan around the energies of the planets involved. When they turn direct again, we can then use the information gathered during the retrograde cycles to proceed. Today and January 14 we are going to focus on Venus and Mercury in Retrograde.

 

Venus has been retrograding since December 19, 2021 and will move from 26 degrees Capricorn back to 11 degrees Capricorn. It goes direct once again on January 29, 2022.

 

Venus often has to do with love and affection and sometimes this represents an important female in our lives. This is not the mother unless the Moon is part of the profile during this period. Friendship, warmth and friendliness are also under the energies of Venus as well as social events and festivities which involve people that we care about.

 

During the retrograde cycle and especially during this pandemic, we may find that it is difficult to engage in gatherings and attend social events. In some cases, this Venus retrograde cycle speaks of love and affection with loved ones seemingly being stifled or even withdrawn. The mind can go to extreme places due to the lack of affection or with feelings of despair often surfacing under this influence. This can be tough on anyone but especially challenging to our younger generation and our children. People are not normally solitary beings and need enjoyment and to engage in social gatherings.

 

Venus moving through the sign of Capricorn often speaks of financial concerns and business-related matters. Venus in Capricorn under normal conditions often suggests a state of solidification and stable conditions in these regards, especially if other indicators in the chart suggest the same. During this retrograde cycle, we may find (if our chart is being afflicted by this retrograde cycle of Venus) that our financial situation or business concerns will be stifled and making ends meet may be difficult. Finances may be dwindling or uncertain at this time and buying big ticket items is not a good idea. It is best to wait until this retrograde cycle is completed.

 

Again, we will look at Mercury retrograde on January 14, 2022.

 We have come this far; now where to go next?

 

Do we change it up or stay with what feels comfortable?

 

A new year always promotes action in some way, and, in many cases, many of us make alterations to our life due to the need to change.

 

We choose routes that promote a healthier lifestyle. We begin exercise programs, promise ourselves to eat food that is healthier for us, change our looks, buy new “toys”, or make an effort to spend more time with those we love. Sometimes business and job opportunities come into closer focus. Others reach for help from an emotional perspective and sometimes we reach within for more substance. The list is endless.

 

Our approach and direction are often focused on outside ventures such as the desire to achieve. Looking outside for change is never a bad idea, but perhaps we need to look within for the changes that will produce the best rewards or facilitate the greatest growth.

 

Being honest with ourselves provides a clear perspective on who we are in the moment. We can try to fool yourself, but we will not succeed.

 

There are always times in life when we need to have a serious deeper look. Not just to recognize where we want to make changes but to also acknowledge and be grateful of our strengths and courage.

TRANSITING JUPITER SEXTILE TRANSITING URANUS

Towards the end of January although often felt prior to the degree of separation Transiting Jupiter will make a Sextile to Transiting Uranus. They are in within one degree of separation from February 13 to February 23, 2022. They will be exact on February 18.

 

This aspect will apply to those who have Natal Uranus in Pisces, (someone approximately 16) and those born in the early 1950’s with their Natal placement of Uranus in Cancer.

 

These individuals will experience a move in a new direction in life often brought on through life’s circumstances beyond their control. The change has likely been felt for some time and a part of them knows that things must change on some level (houses and other planets involved help tell the story). In many cases the change is often abrupt or unexpected although as mentioned subconsciously they are being prepared.

 

Uranus, though disruption, brings necessary change that is needed and can fulfill their soul’s evolutionary quest.

 

Jupiter is the planet of expansion and growth and is often found active in charts when opportunities are in place that facilitate good luck and fortunate conditions. Jupiter has to do with spiritual evolution taught through life’s ongoing philosophical principles. In most cases when Jupiter is part of the picture good things are on the horizon or are current.

 

Jupiter is making a sextile to Uranus. Sextiles are considered positive influences which often initiate opportunities that can be brought to fruition. Putting the two together this is often the indicator of something unfolding or that there is potential for something unfolding that can be quite positive if the individual acts. In rare circumstances, life just makes the change but in most cases, they have to pursue and take advantage of what is being offered during the sextile.

 

Since the houses speak of areas of life involved it is importance to pay particular attention to what these houses represent under this aspect. T. Uranus and T. Jupiter as well as the natal placement of Uranus and Jupiter will reflect what areas of life are involved. A further study of all the other aspects will help to determine what course of action is required and how to move ahead.

 

The time while the aspect is approaching should be used to plan for a course of action or have expectations as to what might unfold. Our attitude and actions take priority as to how things unfold. Our reaction dictates how we experience any event.

TRANSITING SATURN CONJUNCT NATAL MERCURY

 Transiting Saturn is currently in the sign of Aquarius and will remain in Aquarius until the Spring of 2023. Saturn, which is often linked to disciplined action and restrained conditions, moving through the sign of Aquarius (the sign of humanitarian endeavors, enlightenment, and awakenings) will be a testing ground for our ability to focus and to stay true to our beliefs. This is particularly true when T. Saturn conjuncts or makes challenging aspects to our natal Mercury’s position. Check your astrology chart to locate Mercury and calculate any aspect with Saturn, if any, occur during this period. The earlier degrees of transiting Saturn may have already passed at this point.

 

Saturn is the teacher of the zodiac but is resistant to change. With the energies of Aquarius under this aspect, change is inevitable. Saturn is always willing to take the long road to learn what is needed. If the shortcut is more appealing to you while Saturn is making contact, you will find that this will not work out. Saturn insists that you not miss any steps, and you will have to adjust along the way. You cannot ignore any detail under this influence. Every detail must be faced.

 

If, however, you work your way through these lessons and you are diligent in your efforts and face any adversity that might present itself head on, you will come out the other side much stronger and a more experienced individual with knowledge and understanding that will stand the test of time.

 

On a mental level, it may seem quite tedious as you seem to be tested at every junction point, but you will learn a great deal about your inner resolve during Saturn contact. Could one of these important lessons be “being present”?

 

The house Saturn is transiting and where natal Mercury is located will be the area of life that is being affected and the natal house placement of Saturn will also play a significant role. Be sure to check the aspects to Mercury by other transiting planets as well as its condition within the natal chart for a clearer picture.

 

Even if Mercury is challenged in the birth chart, remember that challenging aspect when applied to our life’s mission will be rectified over time and can eventually work like a trine or sextile once mastered.

 

Saturn and Mercury together can indicate times of worry, anxiety and negativity. It can be so testing that depression can result. Mercury is the planet of the mind and some of the greatest tests will be during its time spent with Saturn. This may not be an easy time, but all adversity can be conquered when approached appropriately. Belief structure will play an important role during Saturn’s stint with Mercury.

TRANSITING NEPTUNE CONJUNCT THE MIDHEAVEN

If you have your Midheaven in Pisces (depending on the degree of your MC), you have had transiting Neptune influencing your Midheaven. Neptune entered Pisces in early 2012 and will remain until spring 2025. It moves back into Pisces for a short period after that date but continues with its placement in Aries after that. Having Neptune conjunct your MC, you will have experienced or will experience notable effects on your occupation, your status in life, as well as some of the goals you may have set for yourself during this period.

 

Check to see how Neptune and the MC are influenced by other planetary links in your natal chart to evaluate their overall condition. If Neptune is generally well placed in the birth chart, this period might express itself in positive ways, although probably the period involved will be somewhat unclear. You might even be experiencing some psychic inspirations or enlightening dreams and visions. It might be a time of inspiration or the emergence of latent artistic abilities.

 

Neptune might tend to cloud over areas of life defined by the Midheaven and will often make things very unclear and decision making can be tough. It is as though you are not sure of where you are going and might be afraid of making the wrong choice. Neptune is a mysterious planet, and it is linked to such energies as intuitive perception, religion, martyr type tendencies and inspiration among other things. It can also be linked to places of confinement and alcohol or drug issues, but again much will depend on the natal influence.

 

If your judgement is clouded, transiting Neptune is likely within degree of the conjunction to your Midheaven. Some individuals can feel its approach as far away as 5-6 degrees approaching but commonly its vibrations are felt although very subtle about 2 degrees approaching and it will continue to be in the orb of influence for about 2-3 degrees once past direct. The direct aspect is always the strongest and look for an inner transit of perhaps the Sun or Mars or the progressed Moon to be timers to this position.

 

The working environment is usually the highlighted area of life for most individuals when the MC is activated. It is unwise to decide on a course of action regarding your occupation during Neptune’s influence. It is far better to wait until it has passed completely. If you have made some moves, you will only discover what the reality of these moves are when Neptune’s energy no longer has influence.

 

Some people get married when the MC is activated and especially when it is connected to the Ascendant or any planets in the seventh house. These marriages are usually felt like a match made in heaven and this could most certainly be the case. However, if you find your partner is a little bit different and not that individual you had placed on the pedestal previously, you should not be too surprised. Although the truth of the matter is that if someone does decide to marry under this influence it is quite often a special union regardless of how they view one another. There is something spiritual about the whole experience; it is pure and unfiltered. It just might be one of those special moments.

 

Enjoy this Neptunian transit with all its glitter and be open to anything mystical and inspirational that might come your way. Be sure to have at least one foot firmly planted on the ground. Reality can be transcendent during Neptune’s visit. YOUR LIFE ACCORDING TO YOU

This is a time of awakening for many. We recognize that we are on a specific path of our own choosing. We know that we create with our thoughts. We are open to understanding how the ego operates and the hold it tries to maintain on us. We can recognize ego’s voice, although it can certainly be manipulative.
