ANALYSIS OF THE PROGRESSED CHART

 The progressed chart is a wonderful tool in Astrology to tell us the story of how we are evolving in our personal life. The progressed chart, along with transits and the solar chart, are the three main factors in determining how the energies of the planets will unfold over a specific period. We can go back or forward to any time we wish to analyse. (The solar chart is a chart drawn up for any specific year from birthday to birthday). Advanced Astrologers can also use the midpoints to obtain more information when delineating events and timing. Solar arc is yet another tool for the advanced Astrologers.

 

The P. Sun, Midheaven and Ascendant as well as the house cusps move approximately one degree of arc each year. The Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars all have a three-year affect in relation to the natal chart if they are making aspects, while the outer planets move much slower, and their orb of influence is very tight. Some Astrologers use a 10–15-minute orb of influence with the outer planets to the natal positions.

 

You can read the progressed chart without including natal planets. Transits to the progressed positions can be utilized for information.

 

Each day of life after birth in a progressed chart equals one year of life eg your chart will move 30 days forward at age 31. The first year of life in a progressed chart is reflected by the actual first day of life. There are specific intervals in accordance with the aspects used in Astrology (solar arc) eg age 30 all the planets are in semi-sextile and at age 45 all the planets are in semi-square, etc. This is another form of delineation used by advanced Astrologers.

 

The P. Sun, Midheaven and Ascendant are very significant in the progressed chart, just as they are in the natal chart. The angular points (MC-Midheaven, ASC-Ascendant, DC-Descendant and IC-Immum Coeli) are activity areas. They are considered action points and are very important indicators as to when activity will take place. These angular points become active when a transiting planet is nearing the degree and becoming direct to the angular point. Activity or intensity increases the closer they are to being direct (most intense when at the exact same degree). eg having the Midheaven at 14 degree 27 minutes Gemini, the transiting planet becomes exact at that degree of 14 degrees 27 minutes Gemini.

 

The progressed planets when forming a conjunction to one of these angular house cusps will play a significant role for that particular year, and the energies will mix with the sign on the cusp of the house. The P. Moon moves approximately one degree per month. When activated, this influential period often suggests a significant change on some level and/or some emotional interaction. The P. Moon can also be used as a timer in Astrology. The Moon’s influence would be 3 months: one degree approaching, one degree while direct and one degree while separating. Each degree equals one month of time. eg when a planet is at 12 degrees in a sign, the P. Moon will be active from 11-13 degrees of that sign or in aspect forming an angle to this placement in the chart.

 

The progressed chart has similarities to the natal chart but differs with its orb of influence as it is not as wide.

 

Progressions are experiences that are on a more internal level, but they can still activate energies on an external level. The Sun and Moon and angular points are very significant and can affect the individual on an energetic and event-oriented manner.

 

All the major aspects hold relevance just as they do in the natal chart, (Conjunction, Sextile, Square, Trine, Quincunx) although as mentioned they use a smaller orb of influence. The minor aspects are also important but again you must use a much smaller orb of influence than the orb used in a natal chart.

 

You can have the inner progressed planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) affecting the natal chart indicating activity or influence, as well as transits influencing the progressed chart. The outer planets can have a profound effect if they become active or once again touch off an aspect in the natal chart through retrograde.

 

The progressed chart defines how the individual is developing in life through the movement of the planets. Progressions is a wonderful tool to help define how we are evolving in our personal lives.

TRANSITING PLUTO CONJUNCT THE ASCENDANT

Any transit of Pluto is considered a powerful influence. Do you have T. Pluto conjunct our Ascendant?

 

Since the Ascendant is opposite the seventh house cusp, this transit will affect you in a personal way but may also affect your relationship with your significant other. The people around you may influence you on a whole new level during this conjunction and because of this plus the tendency for Pluto to go beneath the surface (and in this case about who you are – the Ascendant), these people may be instrumental in creating changes in your life.

 

Pluto pushes you to go beneath the surface and during this phase, you may uncover elements of your life that you have subconsciously hidden from yourself. There may be qualities you do not wish to acknowledge and have kept under wraps. This may involve issues from the past hidden because of fear or discomfort. Some past experiences can be very challenging but keeping these under wraps can cause problems that seem more and more insurmountable as time passes. They can affect you on a very personal level. Pluto may now bring these issued to the surface so that you will have to deal with them in an appropriate way and on a beneficial level as getting to the bottom of them will be healing and open the door for a clearer understanding and relationship with yourself.

 

It is a time to get to know yourself and to become more in touch with how life events have affected you. Pluto moves very slowly and if you have this conjunction, you will never have it again. It is always suggested that you deal with these life issues to rid yourself of their shadows. This can have profound effects on your overall development. You may have thought that there were some aspects of yourself you considered malicious, or some actions taken that you consider unforgiveable. Now you can bring these issues to the surface and see them for what they truly are. You may find that these past characteristics or events are not as unforgiveable as you were imagining. Dealing with them offers the opportunity to put events in their proper place and to change your opinions and accurately reflect events without shame; you can put them into proper perspective.

 

Pluto often works in subconscious ways, and your actions or thoughts may seem rather obsessive or even uncontrollable. If things seem to be uncontrollable, now would be the time to seek professional assistance. Sometimes these thoughts and ideas can fester on subconscious levels and if we do not deal with them appropriately, they may expand.

 

Deal with life challenges when they first happen to rectify the situation before it has the energies to grow into something bigger than it is. When you bury or ignore things, they tend to grow in intensity and can become monsters. Remember, it is only ego that sees things in this way, and you can detach from these opinions and deal with the matters at hand simply by not identifying with them.

 

Many relationships go through huge changes during this period which can last up to three years. Pluto moves very slowly through the heavens-about one degree per year. The relationships that have stood the test of time and are healthy will not suffer irreversible damage.

 

A transformation is at hand and identifying any serious issues that have been swept under the carpet should now be brought into the open. Let the healing begin. Pluto packs a punch, and you may experience upheavals during its cycle. Disagreements and ego disruption are quite common.

 

Much can be learned during this aspect, and you now can bring things to the surface and change anything that needs changing once and for all. The results of Pluto’s actions are quite final and what is put in place often changes things forever.

NEVER GIVE UP

Periodically throughout our journey we seem to be bombarded. No matter which way we turn challenging conditions come out of nowhere.

 

These are tests of our beliefs, our resolve, and our commitment. If these cannot be challenged, how can they be worth having? Find solace in knowing they are real and worthy of our commitment.

 

Events and emotions can feel overwhelming, and we may want to let go or run. We understand the process and even though we believe that good things are just around the corner, we can feel we lack the determination to make it though. Part of us says push your way through and another part says to give in or let go.

 

Letting go is not giving in. It takes faith to let go and allow. If we have done all we can then let go and let God/Source/Higher Energy (call this whatever is comfortable for you). There are some individuals who completely live their lives this way recognizing that life happens the way it does for a reason, and we are not at the mercy of life,( although it feels that way). We must let go to connect with our higher resources which includes the one within.

 

This is not a weakness. The leap of faith takes strength. Reaching out and recognizing our connection with source is a valuable lesson. However, recognizing that what we need to learn may not always be easy or pleasant. Don’t forget we think with a limited earthly mind and we do not understand because we can not conceive beyond our mind.

 

Life will take us down many different roads and some are very difficult. We can run up against what appears to be unscalable walls. When the wall is too high to climb, we can find ways to tear it down or be lifted over it. We should not be afraid or ashamed to ask for help but if we do, we must be open to the answers that come to us. The answers may not always be what we expect or want.

TRANSITING MARS MOVING INTO PISCES

Mars moves into the sign of Pisces on April 16, 2022. It will remain in Pisces until May 26. During this time, it can make aspects to your natal chart and influence the general theme of this placement aligning it with other factors in the birth chart. Look primarily to the major aspects (conjunction, opposition, square) as these will have the greatest impact especially if you have other indicators in your chart that also speak to the energies.

 

Mars is the planet of action and pushes us to move ahead in our endeavors. Mars can be aggressive in its pursuit and will when required fight for what is worth fighting for. It is our driving force and when stimulated in our charts can instigate a push in the direction of the energies of the houses that are being triggered. It is hard to ignore Mars and although its action can be rather grandiose its energies push us out of complacency.

 

When in the sign of Pisces, Mars will act in a gentle manner, and service on some level is indicated. It can be a champion of the underdog and may fight for its rights. Mars in Pisces needs an outlet as Pisces can be rather complacent at times. Finding a cause or using the energies in an inspirational manner are positive outlets. This can be a creative outlet for those with an artistic nature and the psychic energies are flowing easy.

 

When Mars meets up with T Neptune in mid-May the energies of Neptune (mystical realms) can be enhanced. Psychic potential can flourish for those so inclined. Prophetic dreams and visualization can manifest especially while in the act of meditation.

 

If this energy of Mars and Neptune touches your chart especially by conjunction the house placement will be of primary importance. If you have this placement in the first house you may find ways to advance your personal cause and strive towards making this a better place for you and for those around you. Artistic avenues of expression can be explored if this placement lines up with your Venus or it is found in the fifth house. You might also find a fascination and strong sexual feelings if the fifth or eighth houses are involved.

 

Magnetism and charisma are classic with Mars and Neptune.

 

Due to the rather quick movement of Mars although retrograde movement can slow down its advancement (October 29, 2022, retrograde at 25degrees Gemini) you may want to push ahead without restraint. Indecisiveness during its conjunction with Neptune is often prominent and although it is suggested that you use the energies of Mars and to not waste too much time re-evaluating, you still need to study if moving forward. Rushing is ill advised although inaction is not suggested either.

STRUGGLES

Do life’s struggles never seem to cease?

 

If you are not sure which way to turn, remember the darkest moment is always just before the dawn. Life’s circumstances always rebound and although the course we take is not always the course we had hoped for, our journey will transform us and teach us the lessons that we will need in our future.

 

Deep down believe that there is nothing in life that you are not strong enough to or capable of overcoming unless, of course, you give up and you allow your attitude to defeat you. If you want to succeed, giving up is not an option.

 

If you can recognize ego as the constant nagging voice that keeps you in your darkest moments, you can stop identifying with its message.

 

Nothing can hurt us more than the relentless ego and we can get so lost in its deceitful message. When we allow ourselves to bask in the sorrows of ego’s message, we identify with it and making it our own. It is then that we become blind and numb to the truth. We become overwhelmed because we forget how to turn it off and are bombarded with ego’s constant message that drowns hope.

 

Recognize negativity. Put ego in its place. Channel your thoughts in a different direction. No matter how difficult the lesson learn it and then force yourself to see the positive in the lessons. In the beginning, it is hard to find that one small positive spark but if you look deep enough, even in the bleakest moment, there is a shred of light.

 

There will be dark moments for all of us. All change can be difficult if we do not let go of the past to move into the present.

 

Our positive decisions can open doors of opportunity unlike anything we have ever know. It is frightening to release our grip on the past even if the things and people of our past no longer serves us. We do have the strength to let go so that we can experience now.

 

Have faith in the process and yourself. Know that we are expanding and growing especially during the most uncomfortable circumstances. Our attitude forms a large portion of our reality. If we focus on those things that we do not enjoy or like, our life will feel as though it is heavy and unenjoyable. If we focus on the blessings and joys in our life, life will feel expansive and joyful. When we change our attitude, we change our circumstances.

 

Change is inevitable. If we fight it, we create discord.

 

We will survive and be stronger and more resilient after each life lesson. Stay true to yourself, not your ego.

TRANSITING PLUTO IN ASPECT TO NATAL MARS

An aspect between T. Pluto and N. Mars can be a very potent one.

 

Are Pluto and Mars are linked in your natal chart? If so, by what aspect?

 

This will help determine the transiting affects on your life. Check which house T. Pluto is in as well as its natal position. You should check if there are other transits affecting Mars or planetary links that closely resemble this configuration such as Pluto with Uranus as this will help to define the intensity. Also check which house N. Mars is in.

 

As mentioned, this is a powerful aspect. Pluto and Mars together often indicate a warning signal and if you also have at least two other planetary links that also point in the same direction, (Uranus links) you will have to watch for haste in action, especially dealing with motorized vehicles and machinery. Potential danger lies in these areas but is certainly avoidable when caution is exercised.

 

This is a high energy transit that must be contained or expressed in a vigorous although gentle manner. If you do not release these energies, there is potential of becoming victim to aggressive behaviour. Do not place yourself in immediate danger and avoid arguments.

 

This transit can provide you with the drive to accomplish your ambitions, even in the face of adversity, especially if the N. Sun is involved. You have great potential to overcome and if you harness this powerful aspect, you can succeed (which under normal conditions you would most likely not even think about pursuing). There is a lot of drive and energy linked to this transit. You can dig beneath the surface on inner turmoil that may have been dormant. This is the time when you can bring this to the surface and deal with it in an appropriate manner.

 

Mars is linked to the ego, and Pluto can be a destructive power urge (also linked to ego). Be careful with how you approach things during this transit. Much opposition to your plans can arise if you handle this energy in an ego-oriented fashion. You will, however, be able to present your case with much enthusiasm and have an ability to get your point across in a powerful and direct manner. In some cases, nonetheless, you can become quite subversive in your approach.

 

Pluto tends to transform any things it touches but can be very subtle in its actions. As time passes, you will begin to figure out how its energy has affected your life.

 

You can do great things with this transit. You accomplish more with less effort and if you put effort into your plans and objectives, the odds of a favourable result or a change in conditions are quite strong.

 

As mentioned, this transit has potential for difficult conditions although unlikely unless several aspects in the chart correlate with this transit of Pluto and Mars. Be a little more careful while under its influence, especially when T. Pluto goes direct and the aspect to Mars becomes direct.

NEW MOON APRIL 1, 2022

Today, April 1, 2022, we are experiencing a New Moon at 11 degrees 30 minutes Aries. This is the sign of aggressive action, adventure and the stimulating energies associated with moving towards a path with vigor. This sign produces a strong personal belief that we can do anything once we put our minds to it.

 

For those that this New Moon influences their chart especially by conjunction or opposition this can be a time to push forward into areas (determined by the house position) that need action. Two to Three degrees applying and two degrees separating is the recommended orbs of influence.

 

Aries is considered a “me first” sign as it pursues whatever it deems necessary and, in some way, enables personal growth. This is not to say that this is a sign that is selfish. It implies that this sign is self-motivated and self-directed and if this also affects others in a positive sense then it is necessary to push towards this resolution or destination point.

 

Aries does not wish to wait and will be the first to move ahead. With this in mind, it is important that those affected do not jump into action without some prior study and perhaps listening to others.

 

T. Mercury is also in the sign of Aries at 11 degrees and 44 minutes making a conjunction to this New Moon’s position. Mercury always has to do with the processing of information. It offers potential for an amalgamation of ideas with the emotional impact of the Moon along with the personal interest and goals associated with the Sun. Forethought and planning the path ahead is essential for progress.

 

T. Uranus makes a semi-sextile to this position of the New Moon suggesting being in the right place at the right time for a favourable outcomes although action must be taken in order for this to manifest.

 

Though not part of this positioning we thought we should point out the North Node’s position in Taurus at 24 degrees making a square to Venus and Saturn at this time. The North Node also makes a wide square to Mars. Venus is about peace, tranquility and love while Saturn is about discipline and structure and Mars is about action and aggression. These energies are stimulated by the North Node which is associated with the path ahead. They speak of the energies in place with what is unfolding in our world.

 

These transits affect everyone if the degrees match the birth chart. The transits also affect different areas of the world. We can expect some instability, uncertainty and a need for peaceful resolutions to have an impact in the coming weeks. Let’s focus on resolution and a stop to the aggression so that peace can surface. Mars and Saturn will most certainly have their say in what unfolds too.
