THE MIDLIFE CHANGES BETWEEN 38-42 REFLECTED IN ASTROLOGY

In this post we will be focusing on the mid-life turning point at ages 38-44 and how it is indicated in the Astrology chart. This period in life is a normal evolutionary step from early adulthood into a form of maturity.  This is a period when we can make peace with ourselves, and we should be fairly comfortable with the person we are by this time in life. 

 

This can be a time when we restructure our association with self on a much more profound level.  A sense of individuality should occur due to the major influences taking place in our lives.  During this age period, we are experiencing transiting Saturn in trine to its natal position and Neptune in square to its natal position.  These signify inner transformations and a realistic approach to who we are. 

 

There may even be a feeling of urgency with our quests in life.  Our ego and the ongoing search for “who am I?” are undergoing alterations in the consciousness of those individuals that feel they need answers.

 

There is no formal training when it comes to what many people term “the midlife crisis”.  No one can say they are prepared, particularly because no one knows exactly what to expect.  Each individual goes through their own personal “crisis” (if that is how you want to look at it) and then an awakening takes place.  This is a time of great soul searching and a desire for inner change which often coincides with outer change, as one affects the other.

 

The body is also undergoing physical changes during this time in our lives, and those who have placed too much attention on their physical appearance may become depressed with the changes they are seeing in the mirror.  Many individuals will go deep within to rediscover what they actually have to offer, especially if the physical appearance has been held in an elevated position most of life.  The ego is actually in a somewhat delicate state, as the inner self gains supremacy and control, at least for those who are searching for something more.

 

This is often considered a turning point as we truly begin to question who we are and we relentlessly want answers. 

 

Many individuals traditionally turn to deeper subjects such as spirituality, Astrology and the mystical side of life, furthering their pursuit, and hoping to find some answers to some truly profound questions.  This is an awakening stage as many who have been wrapped up in the material world and have came up empty, now wanting greater meaning in their lives.

 

Doors that have been closed are now beginning to open and a deep restlessness is awakening within.  The search continues and those longing for answers begin to question their existence and open the channel from within to make a more intimate contact with the inner self.  The process has begun, as we raise our consciousness and continue on with our mission.

 

At age 42, we are also experiencing the Uranus opposition with itself.  This intensifies the search and often we reach for something new to bring to the forefront of life.  Some reach out for radical solutions and this is when people become bored with life and want something that is exciting and exhilarating.  There is a bit of an eccentric influence arising from the personality.  Many find this new individual reaching to find some satisfaction beyond the normal material influences in life.  Shifts that may be a bit erratic and different and a need to break free of any restrictions is often an important part of the process.

 

These life expressions often come to light on short notice and we make untimely changes that will affect us personally and those around us.  This is often quite disruptive for family members that are accustom to life being steady, solid and secure. 

 

Some individuals may leave their marriage partners and start a new life. In many cases the change is sudden and comes without much warning. We can never prepare ourselves for what might take place but we can know that change is inevitable.  A transformation will take place and this period can certainly be intense.

WORLD UNITED

SOLAR ECLIPSE DECEMBER 14, 2020

 We will be experiencing a Solar Eclipse on December 14, 2020 beginning at 11:16 am EST. 

 

According to www.timeandate.com, this “total solar eclipse, the last eclipse of 2020, is visible from Chile and some parts of Argentina in the afternoon. Some regions in southern South America, south-west Africa, and Antarctica will see a partial solar eclipse, if the weather permits.”

 

We wanted to share some Astrological information on an eclipse.

 

An eclipse is considered to be much stronger than the effects of the New or Full Moons.  An Eclipse has a conjunction with either the North or South Nodes.  This on its own is one reason that an eclipse is considered stronger than the various other Moon phases. 

 

The Nodes are significant because of their effects on our lives.  An eclipse to the North Node is considered more favorable than an eclipse linked with the South Node.  The North Node has energies similar to Jupiter and the South Node has energies similar to Saturn. 

 

The December 14, 2020, eclipse is linked by less than 4 degrees to the South Node.

 

If a natal planet is within close proximity (3 degrees) to this eclipse and in major aspect (Conjunction, Opposition, Square, Trine and Sextile), this eclipse will have an effect on you personally.  Take into consideration the angles of your chart as well (Ascendant, MC, DC and IC) as these play important roles in how this eclipse will interact with your chart.  Conjunctions and Oppositions are the most powerful and can have a profound effect in your life.  The area of life will be revealed by the houses influenced and sign of the eclipse.

 

This eclipse falls in the sign of Sagittarius and will be at 23 degrees.  This position and its opposition position (23 degrees Gemini) will be influencing factors in this eclipse.  This is important to consider because the average eclipse has lasting effects often longer than 3 hours in duration and Mars and/or Saturn while in transit will make conjunctions and oppositions to this placement activating the eclipse.  These transits only activate the eclipse position when in conjunction or opposition.  Saturn will not be making a conjunction or opposition to this placement while it is in effect.

 

Eclipses are rated from one to seven depending on their strength which is measured with increments related to its positioning and aspects by other transits taking place at the same time.  In worldly matters this eclipse in December, 2020 is considered a six according to the natal birth position of the USA.  As a result, this should be a very influential eclipse for the USA in general.  The solar eclipse manifests in a more external manner than the lunar eclipse and it lasts longer.  As a side note, most lunar eclipses have a duration of one year while a solar eclipse can last as long as five years. 

 

On a personal basis, the planet making an aspect to the eclipse degree is highly significant and will interact with the basic influence of the sign Sagittarius.  This has to do with spirituality, religious doctrines, long distance travel and publications among other things. 

 

We also have to look into the energies associated with the ruling planet of Sagittarius, which is Jupiter, often referred to as the greater benefactor promising growth and expansion along with feelings associated with positivity and good fortune.  If this placement is poorly aspected within the personal natal chart however, Jupiter can expand on an already challenging situation.  Sometimes energies associated with the eclipse can be felt or experienced up to one to two months prior to the eclipse degree and as mentioned will be activated over several years by Mars.

CHIRON, THE WOUNDED HEALER

Chiron is a comet that was discovered in 1977.  It has an orbit that oscillates between Saturn and Uranus and actually crosses orbits. 

 

The energies of Chiron seek out enlightenment through the affirmation of its ability to heal wounds especially those of others.  They say that the internal wounds that may have been initiated from early life conditions such as self-worth and insufficiencies are carried forward into adult life and that they are extremely hard to overcome.  Through these internal struggles and the lessons that they teach, these individuals are able to help others often before they can help themselves.

 

As Chiron swings between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus, it can bring with it enlightenment and new avenues of expression by exploring competent and reliable information often learned through life’s experience.  There is a need to rise above the original wound although it could be very deep and require much work to find new directions or alternatives in order to move beyond the injury and rise above its lingering effects.

 

The sign and house position of Chiron show what area of life is involved and the character traits of the wound.  In many cases, this is thought of as a spiritual wound and it also shows where we have great healing potential that can help others who have experienced similar wounds in their lives. 

 

In order to heal ourselves, we have to face the issue and we will need to work tirelessly to overcome its effects on us. 

 

The first house positioning of Chiron is the most challenging, perhaps due to the personal nature of the wound.  In most cases, the healing powers that these individuals develop are very powerful.  Many with a challenged Chiron become doctors, psychologists, and healers using modern-day techniques, such as reiki and the teachings of spiritual healers from a mental perspective.

 

Chiron’s energies do not necessarily have to be overly negative, as hard work often produces great results.  As we learn to overcome deep-seated challenging conditions we gain internal strength and learn valuable lessons.  The house placement will often define where we have reoccurring difficulties and there is an urgency to repair these in order to move beyond the hurt.  We are able to heal ourselves but not without hard work and a disciplined approach.  Sometimes the healing comes in sporadic moments of enlightenment or happens when we are not expecting it.  A rational and honest approach will often work quite well.

 

On some level, Chiron’s placement in our chart by sign and house position is indicative of the ability to heal humankind.  This is not to say that it will be on a grand scale, although possible, but we can certainly help others.  We will need to heal ourselves first before we can do our work helping others. 

 

This injury is often a big part of our life’s story and many individuals will hold on to this for several years.  Some will be unable to integrate the healing requirements due to self-doubt and preconceived notions.  If we recognize that we are the ones holding ourselves back, we can make great strides in overcoming this issue and be able to let go in order to heal.

DO NOT UNDERMINE THE POWER OF RESOLVE

Be fixated on the belief that anything can be resolved. 

 

We are not at the mercy of life.  Our mind, our attitude towards whatever life throws at us is fully in our control, once we realize we have this control. 

 

There are times when we experience events we feel are devastating.  We question the fairness of these events.  Experience your feelings and then allow them to go.  These events are not a part of you.  Do not make them feel that they are.  Process the events, feel the feelings but do not own them.  We have the final say in how we deal with these events.

 

It is not an easy matter and it takes work and practice, but the underlying attitude is what matters. 

 

We are at the helm and we decide on what note we take this ride of life. 

 

Do not let issues lie festering and unresolved.  Face life head on, observe truth and fight for justice when the need arises.  Do not resort to violence but stand up to those that obstruct your path.

TRANSITING PLUTO TRINE NATAL MOON

 Pluto is in the sign of Capricorn and will remain in this sign until it finally moves into Aquarius and stays there towards the end of 2024 and into 2025.  For those individuals with this trine to Pluto, the houses where you find your natal Moon, transiting Pluto and natal Pluto will define the areas of life that are being affected by this transit of Pluto.  You will also have to look at the aspects within the natal chart to your Moon (especially tight configurations) as this will provide more information to help you analyse the potential from this transit.

 

Pluto in trine is favourable under most conditions and suggests easy flow, good luck and growth through transformation in the areas of home, family and change that is now calling for action.  The Moon in some cases also speaks of the Mother and is also related to your emotions and your emotional interaction due to conditions at hand.

 

You may experience changes within the family.  Sometimes this speaks of additions to the family circle, marriage potential, growth opportunities and positive changes.  The home may undergo transformations; some redecorate or renovations while others go deeper and buy or sell their homes. 

 

When it comes to the Mother and if the home is involved, she may buy or sell her home or if she is older, she may move into a retirement home.  Changes are in store within the family unit and in most cases this is quite positive and growth oriented.  Trines are considered favourable aspects and are the energies that we wait for.

WHO ARE YOU?

Tonight, when you are going through your bedtime routine, will you take a moment to be thankful for all that was today?  

 

Do you review your life through a focus of gratitude? 

 

Recall your life from the earliest days that you can.  Reflect on the innocence and carefree attitude you had as a child, if you can find these memories.  

 

Make a connection between who you are now and the little one you were so many years ago.  Think of the time that has passed and reflect on whatever memories come back to you.  These memories are partly what have brought you to this present moment in time.

 

Each event is part of our life’s experience and these events remembered, along with countless others forgotten, are what have helped to mold the attitude of your current have.  These events have helped shape and transform your personality response. That little innocent child is still reflected in you today.

 

Each event you experienced was meant to be and was a requirement in the developing story of you.  Nothing was by chance, regardless of how traumatic or wonderful the experience.  There were no mistakes. Nothing was to be left unsaid or not done.  If you look deep enough, you will come to terms with the “why” behind these experiences maybe not today but possibly tomorrow or another day.  They were all necessary to provide you with the experience you needed to grow.
