WINTER SOLSTICE

This time of year in many ways is quite busy and filled with wonderful energies.  We will experience the Sun entering into the sign of Capricorn on December 21.  We will celebrate Winter Solstice (Hibernal Solstice) on December 21 at 11:19 p.m. EST and we will enjoy the energies of the New Moon in Capricorn 4 degrees on December 26.

Our daylight hours have significantly decreased since the equinox and on December 21 there will be the least daylight for us in the northern hemisphere as the sun is currently on a very low arc in the sky.

The great news is that the arc of the Sun’s path will heighten and our daylight will start to lengthen.  As nature sleeps and the light is low, however, we can take advantage of this time to reflect on our wonderful earthly journey.  This is the perfect time to look within.

What have we achieved over the past year?  Where has our growth been plentiful and where might we be able to focus a little more, if we choose?

This is the perfect time to plan our intentions and set our goals for when the energy and the light increase.  Mother nature always knows best.  Life is easier when we follow her example.  When the creatures of our locality rest, so should we.  Take this quiet time to nurture our inner self so that when the light and warmth returns, we are ready for the return of mental and physical energies.  Hopefully our spiritual energies are always high.

Our current lesson is patience which is always a difficult one to learn.  Utilize the wait to look deep into the shadows of self.  We can bring light into our darkest corners and fill each corner with love and allow spirit to grow.

Is it coincidence that during Yule season (the rebirth of light), many celebrate the birth of Christ (the symbol of rebirth of salvation)?  This IS a time of celebration for many, whether it is Yule, Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, etc.

We have so much to celebrate. 

Be filled with promise, with faith in all that is, with gratitude, with love and with inner and healing light!
