A MOMENT IN TIME

Life is but a moment in time.  At times the experience is

ownship of Essahem, h th mental illness.strong and vibrant and at other times, dull and mundane.  In the overall picture, life is brief.  Staying focused and present in the moment helps to make the experience seem more prolongs.  Certainly by living in the moment, you will not live longer but you will be more aware and experience life to its fullest.

Many individuals focus their attention on probabilities and what the future MIGHT bring.  Many others focus their attention on the past.  They dwell on memories and lose the beauty of now.  The past does not have to refer to years ago.  The past could be just yesterday.

We need to focus on the present--the moment and our objectives within that moment.

The passage of time slows when we focus on the now--when we live in the moment with no regard to the possible future or the past.  The past cannot be changed and the future is not here.  Live life for the current moment whether it be a wonderful experience or a difficult lesson.  Process what needs to be and then move on.  Embrace the moments of enlightenment and let go of the moments of anguish, but live them and grasp each concept.

Let go of the hurt, the disappointment and the failure.  Accept that life is full of lessons and the most difficult lessons are the ones that teach us, that motivate us, that strengthen us.  Hard lessons are just that--hard lessons.  They are necessary and promote growth.

When you encounter a difficult lesson, go deep into the situation, do not leave any stone unturned, then move on.  Each day holds promise.  BELIEVE.  Have faith that you are moving forward just as you should.  There are no exceptions.  Life is the ever present now!

“I always keep my weather eye on the opposition of my seventh house Moon to my first house Mars.” President Theodore Roosevelt

The Moon in the seventh house in opposition to Mars in his first house would have indicated emotional confrontations with loved ones and with business partnerships.  President Roosevelt kept his eye on these relationships to understand the emotional weather he was going to experience.  With Mars in the first house, he would have had a driving personality and a willingness to face anything life would throw at him.

SECURING LIFE'S FOUNDATION

In the process of building your “foundation”, make sure that you have solid footings in place.  A solid foundation is essential to withstand life’s sometimes turbulent conditions.

Not only are you building this foundation to preserve your essence but to build further with peace and love.  These ingredients foster rewards that far outweigh any foundation built on material security.  Love will endure any condition that the world can throw your way and withstand any adversity.  Love holds the only true value in life.  All of life’s tranquil conditions stem from this source.

You exist to be the conduit for the electrical current that transmits love.  You can generate love simply by being love.  There is no stronger force in our world than love.  Love is pure essence and can be directly linked with all happiness.  This is our purpose--plain and simple.  We are the agents of love.  It begins with you.  You are the base and this essence resonates with you always.  Open your heart and always believe.

SATURN TRANSITS MIDHEAVEN IN ASTROLOGY

Since Saturn is known as the taskmaster, it defies anything new and looks for structure in life, we thought we would look at the significance of a conjunction of Saturn to the Midheaven.  This is not a “currently” mass aspect.  Please review your chart to see when Saturn is conjunction the Midheaven in your specific Chart.

The Midheaven, along with the Ascendant, is the most significant positions in the Horoscope.  They generally indicate, when transiting planets cross these points, times of revelation and times of viewing one’s life from a perspective that fosters us to begin anew or to strengthen what is already in place.

With the influences of Saturn, the planet of sure-footed structure, those with this aspect may find that they are abruptly faced with new duties or they must become accountable especially within the working environment.  During this influence, there is a need for some fine-tuning of the framework they have been laying over the past 14 years or so.  Saturn takes approximately 28 years to complete its cycle around the Zodiac and as a result, Saturn would have been in opposition to the Midheaven14 years ago.  This is usually a time when these individuals are paying close attention to what they have been doing with your life and may now begin a new chapter that will reach its culmination when Saturn conjuncts the Midheaven.

The older the age of those experiencing these junction points in life, the more relevant the issues pertaining to their occupation, their standing in the community and their status.  They will now view their actions that were put in place some 14 years ago and watch as they come to fruition.  If they have carefully built a solid foundation in these areas of life and prepared for their future, they may feel very ambitious and receive rewards for all of their hard work and planning.  If they have taken short-cuts in order to prepare for this period in life, (they tried to avoid their responsibilities), they may now have to come to terms with these shortfalls and may have to alter the course of these actions.  The odds are that things are not working out as planned, and they will have to assess the damage and rebuild making repairs and making necessary changes to help alleviate some of these issues.

When Saturn crosses the Midheaven, it is usually very apparent as this is the climatic point and although it may happen rather suddenly, each of us when this occurs will feel Saturn’s effect for a few degrees before it makes actual contact with the MC.  Because Saturn delays all matters and often leads to contemplation, its strongest effects are felt 1 to 2 degrees past the actual Midheaven point.

You must face these results of what it is you have been trying to achieve over the past several years head on.  There is no getting away from what has been done thus far and you will either prosper from your previous actions or pay the piper and rebuild so you can create a more solid foundation down the road.

IF IT’S NOT YOURS DON’T OWN IT

It can be very difficult when a close friend is experiencing a difficult experience.  We all have our moments.  It is always reassuring knowing that there are those individuals that are always there to lend a hand when we are in need.

Life at times can seem unfair and it is easy to allow ourselves to be swept away by circumstances that enter our lives.  There are times when answers seem to be unavailable and relief seems very distant.

If you are assisting someone emotionally through some life altering experiences, remember not to allow yourself to get caught up in their emotions.  You cannot be of aid when you take on the emotion of their situation and make it your own.

There are those that are so psychically involved that they make other people’s issues their own, often without knowing it.  They experience depression but do not understanding why.  You can reach out to offer your help, your emotional support and to provide an ear for venting, but do not get caught up in other’s problems and take on the emotional attachment.

Allowing others to unload is probably the greatest assistance you can offer.  Often when we are experiencing stressful situations in life expressing their frustrations is an important release.  It is often difficult to open up and be honest when faced with such situations.

A true friend will neither judge nor take sides.  Regrettably, it is their road to walk and although we feel great compassion and honestly wish to help, change and decisions are theirs to make.  Some people get so caught up in the moment that they truly are not looking for help or advice.  They are just looking for a means of releasing and unwinding.

Be their friend in need, but do not harbour their anxiety.  Love them by showing them you care, but leave the emotion behind when you have done your part.

The Tenth House in Astrology

Today we will take a look at Astrology’s tenth house.

There are four houses known as the Cardinal Points which are the first, fourth, seventh and tenth houses.  These four energy channels are considered action points in the Horoscope.  The first house cusp or the Ascendant and the tenth house cusp (Midheaven also known as the MC) are the two most active areas in a Natal chart.

When Transiting Planets (the location of the planets today) cross these areas of life (as all houses define areas of life) events take place.  Much of what takes place depends on the planet crossing this area and the energy it represents.  Every house cusp defines a particular area of life and these areas of life are enhanced when Transiting Planet’s or Progressed Planet’s energy enters each house (crosses over the cusp).  The Tenth and First house cusps far outweigh the other remaining ten areas of life which are represented by each house cusp.  We usually experience a shift as the Outer Planets cross this threshold.

The Tenth House cusp or the MC describes your occupation.  The ruling sign often is suggestive of the type of work you should be doing in your life, not necessarily what you are doing with your life.  When doing an occupational profile this area of the Chart is the first place an Astrologer would look to define what we should be doing.  I should, however, pointed out that the Moon’s Nodes are also very depictive of what we should be doing with our lives.

The Tenth House deals directly with your worldly ambitions and your outer goals.  It often portrays the ego and some of its characteristics, although the Ascendant Sign is even more descriptive of this.  When a planet in transit crosses this energy point, quite often there are changes to our occupation and our status in life.  As the fourth house cusp is always directly in opposition to the MC, when a planet crosses the tenth house cusp, it is also in Opposition to the Fourth House Cusp.  During these transformational transition periods, the home and family will also be affected by what is taking place within the occupation.

The sign ruling the tenth house cusp (especially if it is a Cardinal Sign) can depict public recognition, (especially if it is in a Cardinal Point which is between 29 degrees of the Mutable Sign before the Cardinal Sign or 0 to 1 degree of the Cardinal Sign).  An example of this would be having a Midheaven sign of 29 degrees Virgo on the MC or 0-1degree Libra on the MC.

Natal Planets in this house and aspects to these planets can provide the Astrologer with input into how the energy of this house will be relayed to the outside world.  It also indicates if the individual will have an easy time in work related ways and in his status in life or whether it will be challenging.  Quite often a Gemini or Pisces MC suggests two completely different occupations during the course of the individual’s life.  It is important, however, to understand the concept of “success”, for success does not always pertain to material worldly success.

In most cases, we must have Natal Aspects that closely mirror events in the Transiting Planetary Energy for something of significance to happen, but in many cases, even when there are no Natal links to Transiting Planets crossing over the MC or the Ascendant, “things” may still happen.  As suggested earlier, these two areas are action areas of a Chart and are very significant when deciphering potential life issues when Transits or Progressions pass over these very important areas of our Charts.

EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES

If you have been diagnosed with depression or any other psychological condition, regardless of its medical label, it is important to understand that this is an earthly, body condition.  This condition is not a reflection of you as an individual on a personal level.  This body which includes our brains, glands, transmitters are strictly a vehicle at our disposal.  There should be no burden of blame due to bodily ailment.  Should someone with genetic heart disease or Type I diabetes carry responsibility for their physical ailment?  .........of course not.

These are diseases with symptoms that usually can be lessened and/or controlled with healthy life styles and medication.  Modern medicine has many treatments available to control or at the very least lesson the symptoms of most conditions.  We must appreciate the progress that modern science has made.  The help may not be perfect but it is certainly beneficial.

Some individuals after accepting treatment experience positive results but once they feel more in control, there is often the urge to stop treatment.  It is important to realize that the treatment is lessening the symptoms.  If you discontinue treatment without working with your professional’s and adhering to their advice, the symptoms usually return.  We must leave diagnosis to the professionals and work with them to utilize the best possible treatments available for us...each as a unique individual!

Society has to view mental illness, in its many forms, simply as a physical body condition.  It is not a choice and is no one’s fault.  We must lose the astigmatisms so often associated with mental illness.

We are all equals.  We all have disorders is some shape or form that affect our lives at one point or another.  We each have to find our own way clear to deal with what we are confronted with.  Most of us will experience some form of depression during our lifetime and will find ways to deal with it.  The important thing to realize is that most conditions can be controlled either through medication or through the mind’s focus.  Positive reinforcement must always be our focus.  Each and every fragment of thought control and mind manipulation can assist us.  We are not at the mercy of life.

If your body (mind included) needs medical attention and if using treatments and medications help to balance the body and mind, be thankful that modern science and practices offer help to alleviate these conditions in life.
Stay strong and know that one you can experience healing and peace.  Practice meditation and do not allow negativity to control your life.  There are always options.  Know that you are not alone.  Others care and love you.  Love is the greatest healer.
