BORN BETWEEN 1959 - 1968

We are taking a look at the generation born between 1959 and 1968 in this post.

 

Those born during this time period will have a completely unique family unit from generations born before them.  Many born during this period have what is considered unconventional family structures and these individuals are unique in their nature. 

Many of these individuals carried the blame for any shortcomings within their childhood family circle, quite unlike the thinking of today by some that the blame for any deficiencies in the family unit or with the children is bore by the parents. 

The individuals of this time period are largely a more compliant group with an understanding or opinion that there is fated effects in life and that there is a job to do and a life to orchestrate.

This generation has brought with them a new purpose, a visualization and belief that the world is capable of cleansing itself from its self-made misery.  This concept is blatantly obvious to these people and a large part of their focus is to cleanse or heal the world around them.  There is a feeling of responsibility and obligations to be met.  They are ready to take on this challenge whether it is in the immediate family or on a much grander scale.  They are somewhat impatient and want to get on with the job at hand.

These people seek this development through transcendent means.  They are spiritual in nature or strive to live in the “real-world” and in a useful manner. They seek to unleash new thinking and concepts and to transcend the old ways simply through everyday living and more substantially through humanitarian efforts.  They challenge us to a new way of living, to teaching our children to take control of their lives and accept responsibility for their actions.

As their children age, they hope that they have taught their values through example so that generations to come will follow and continue to take responsibility for their actions and their lives. 

It should be noted that there can be other aspects and planetary positions that will dilute the effect of generational position.

LISTENING TO OUR CHILDREN

As a parent, we have witnessed and emotionally experienced the many changing proverbial faces of our children.  For those that have young children, you are just beginning this wonderful and emotional journey. 

We utilize the time that we are given to mold and influence our children as best we can yet they are certainly impacted in part by life’s experiences beyond our walls.  The best we can, we steer them in the appropriate directions when they are close and we lend an ear when they are willing to talk to let them know that someone is interested and cares.

Getting them to open up can be a parent’s most challenging task and unfortunately, there are times when we have to accept that they will not open up to us.  This is frustrating as a parent as we truly believe, even instinctively know, that we can help to guide them through most of life’s adversity.  It is so essential to reinforce that we have their backs and we are always available when needed, for this is what unconditional love truly is.

For those with very young children, you have the opportunity now to reinforce the importance of talking things through and that you will always be at their side under any circumstance.  If you lay this foundation now and truly listen when they have their stories to tell, they will more often than not reach out to you and trust you with their private concerns.

Our greatest gift to our children, even to those that now have matured, is to let them know that we love them and will always be at their side whatever the circumstance.  By listening to the little things, they will know that they can come to us with the bigger issues.  The greatest lessons they will learn will be through our everyday examples.  What examples are we offering them?

SATURN RETURN

There are a large number of our readers that are between the ages of 24-35.  Accordingly, we thought we would share our thoughts on the Saturn Return. 

The natal or birth chart is a snapshot of the heavens at the moment of birth.  From that moment on the planets continue on their rotational path.  Most planets eventually return to their location at the moment of our birth, with the exception of the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) as they take much longer to complete their cycle.  Saturn takes between 27 to 29 years to complete its cycle.  Uranus takes 84 years and the other two most outer planets take much longer and we do not live long enough to experience their return.

Saturn has a profound impact in our lives.  It produces or presents us with lessons that can be quite stressful (depending on our reaction to issues in life) whenever it becomes activated in our charts.  It’s like we have come to a crossroad in our development and we are forces to take a good look at our lives and make some needed changes.  These times can be very trying and can last a significant period of time, especially if there are other planetary energies at work over the same period.

We have touched a little on houses in previous posts and will go deeper into these areas of life later in other posts.  Depending on which house Saturn can be found in your birth chart and what aspects it is making to other planets, these particular areas of life (houses) will become activated during the Saturn return.  The intensity and duration depends largely on the other planets that are stimulating the area and how long they transit (transit is the motion of the planet) and what aspects (aspects are angles between planets) they make to each other.

If you are going through a stressful period and you are between the ages of 27-29, this is without a doubt due to Saturn’s return to its natal position in your birth chart.  We, at Holm Astrology, can go deeper into your Astrology chart and have a look at how Saturn’s return will influence you and how to soften the lessons it will present.  When Saturn has completed its return cycle, you can be certain that a new person will emerged with a greater understanding of self and with valuable information in hand due to the experiences.  

This period around the age 29 is when we go through our full Saturn return.  Some people are far more sensitive to the energies and can feel the influence as much as 2 years prior to its conjunction with its natal position. 

The second Saturn return comes when we are 58.  Again, some individuals will feel the energies as much as 2 years prior, but the most powerful influence occurs when it is at its tightest conjunction.  This return differs from our first Saturn return as we are hopefully more mature and many are approaching the end of their working career.  We will touch on the second Saturn return at a later date.

SHINE YOUR LIGHT

We are forever changing and releasing layer so that we can eventually be our true authentic self.  Do not fear rejection especially from those who do not accept the true you that is unfolding.  Be uplifted and pleased by what you have accomplished.  In honouring the right of others travelling their own journey, do not condemn or stress over other’s opinion or ways for they are entitled to them. 

As you true self surfaces, so will your compassion and the love and light that swells from within.  It intensifies to an outward expression that others will naturally gravitate towards.  This is you!  This is your true identity and although the relentless ego will attempt to keep you oppressed, you will emerge, because the ego weakens and eventually dissipates as you begin to recognize who you truly are.

You will genuinely want to assist others in discovering their own true nature and this will be achieved by shining your true light.  What we see in our world is a reflection of what is transpiring within.  Our inner energy becomes an outward expression.

Allow your inner light to shine.  Allow it to become so brilliant that it illuminates all the dark corners you previously were afraid to look in.

WHAT IS YOUR INFLUENTIAL LEGACY?

If we have climbed the ladder of success and are in a position of authority over others or if we have influence that will affect those around us, we must tread carefully and be sure to impacting others through truth and influence them through acts of inspiration.  Our acts and words should foster reassurance, hope and inspiration.  They should not dictate but nurture others towards fulfilling their dreams and following their heart and that which feels right for them.   Positivity will lighten.  Negativity will burden.

We can help others to understand their place in the grand scheme of things and help them find the value in what they do.  Every living thing has importance.  No one should view themselves as anything but significant to themselves and others.  Always speak your truth and deliver your message in a universal language that others will resonate with.

With gentle words of compassion and acts of kindness, we will nurture those struggling to lift themselves from unhappiness and even despair.  They may only need a few inspirational words to help propel them forward and although our words may have instigated their action, their decisions to act are theirs to make and are personal.

For those in positions of power and influence through financial gains or politics, it is imperative that the people choose those with honesty, vision, strength and accountability. 

It is said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  This is most evident throughout our world especially in underdeveloped countries and in many political circles. 

Power is a manifestation in this earthy realm.  When time has come for us to pass beyond this earthly existence what is left of our power?  If we use our influence wisely, we can leave behind a legacy not measured monetarily or infamously.  We can create positive attitudes that have the potential to lift others out of complacency.  We can assist with the shift of negative perceptions in order to nurture or parent much greater attitudes and actions in the future.  Influencing one person in a positive way today will ripple to many others tomorrow.

REACHING OUT OR WITHIN FOR AN ANSWER

There are times when we feel as though we are at the mercy of life -- times when we feel like we cannot break free of stress, frustration, remorse, abandonment and the list goes on.

These are the moment when we must reach inside to find that spark of strength that we know on an instinctive burns within us.  Many can feel as though nothing is left and giving up seems like the easiest course to take.  Just before the dawn is the darkest hour and unfortunately, some will see this as perpetual darkness and bow to fear and their feelings of abandonment. 

Those that have found that spark of strength to rise above these moments in life know that letting go of the attachment to these events is the only way to move beyond the darkness.

When we reach this point, there is a part of us that knows that we can no longer hold on to these focuses or attachment to the events or emotions that have created this dark pit.  Unfortunately some misconstrue the act of letting go.  When we let go, we do not give up.  We release ourselves from the shackles that attach us to the darkness.  The key to these shackles is self love.  A spark of self love is enough to allow us to see those energies or forces far greater than self that reach out a proverbial hand to assist us up out of our darkness.  If we love ourselves enough to ask for help, in whatever form available, help will be provided.

Though no one else will ever understand our true suffering, we are never alone.  We have at our disposal guides and companions whether in human form or not that walk with us especially in times of darkness.  Never hesitate to ask for help as we are always worthy of it and there is always a solution if we actually listen with our hearts.

Reaching out can be very difficult but we are worth the effort.  Receiving help is a blessing we are entitled to.  Even though the answer may come from outside of us and we may wrestle with the answer we receive, if we remaining open and loving towards ourselves we will come to the answers we seek. 

The capability to overcome any adversity is available.  We have the tools at hand, but we have to believe in that potential in order for it to begin to unfold.  Even in our darkest moments, if we listen with our hearts, we will hear that guiding voice, that quiet reassuring voice and we will feel that comforting hand on our shoulder.  That voice will reassure us that we are not alone and we will make it through and conquer.  After all we are the spirit that dwells within.  We are the connection that we seek.  If we struggle to hear our truth and are willing to ask for assistance, it will be given.  It may not be in the form we expect but it will be in the form that we need.
