Accordingly, we thought we would share our thoughts on the Saturn Return.
The natal or birth chart is a snapshot of
the heavens at the moment of birth. From
that moment on the planets continue on their rotational path. Most planets eventually return to their
location at the moment of our birth, with the exception of the outer planets
(Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) as they take much longer to complete their
cycle. Saturn takes between 27 to 29
years to complete its cycle. Uranus
takes 84 years and the other two most outer planets take much longer and we do
not live long enough to experience their return.
Saturn has a profound impact in our
lives. It produces or presents us with
lessons that can be quite stressful (depending on our reaction to issues in
life) whenever it becomes activated in our charts. It’s like we have come to a crossroad in our
development and we are forces to take a good look at our lives and make some
needed changes. These times can be very
trying and can last a significant period of time, especially if there are other
planetary energies at work over the same period.
We have touched a little on houses in
previous posts and will go deeper into these areas of life later in other posts. Depending on which house Saturn can be found in
your birth chart and what aspects it is making to other planets, these
particular areas of life (houses) will become activated during the Saturn
return. The intensity and duration
depends largely on the other planets that are stimulating the area and how long
they transit (transit is the motion of the planet) and what aspects (aspects
are angles between planets) they make to each other.
If you are going through a stressful period
and you are between the ages of 27-29, this is without a doubt due to Saturn’s
return to its natal position in your birth chart. We, at Holm Astrology, can go deeper into

When Saturn has completed its return cycle, you can be certain that a
new person will emerged with a greater understanding of self and with valuable
information in hand due to the experiences.
This period around the age 29 is when we go
through our full Saturn return. Some
people are far more sensitive to the energies and can feel the influence as
much as 2 years prior to its conjunction with its natal position.
The second Saturn return comes when we are
58. Again, some individuals will feel the
energies as much as 2 years prior, but the most powerful influence occurs when
it is at its tightest conjunction. This
return differs from our first Saturn return as we are hopefully more mature and
many are approaching the end of their working career. We will touch on the second Saturn return at
a later date.
