HOW DO PLANETS ACTIVATE ACTIVITY IN ASTROLOGY

We have received questions on what activates a planetary alignment.  We are going to use Pluto as our example.  Let’s say that Transiting (Current position) Pluto has been in Conjunction with your natal (birth position) Venus for some time now.  Pluto will move very slowly through the heavens.  It can affect your Venus for up to three years and for people very sensitive to the energies of Pluto, it could last as long as five years.  Pluto on Venus suggests transformation in your love life or changes directly related to your finances.  There are other translations but we will stick to these predominate obvious few.

We will not discuss the meaning of Transiting Pluto on Venus in detail.  What we are concentrating on is when this aspect will be enhanced and when to expect activity.  The closer transiting Pluto moves towards being direct in this example, (in other words when it is less than one degree in separation or moving towards the specific degree Venus has in your chart), the stronger it becomes. 

You ask, however, “what actually activates this transit?”  It might become activated when it sits directly on Venus, within 10 minutes or so, but more than likely when Pluto is within range, (so under a half of a degree from Venus’ position), an inner planet will activate this transit.

The inner planets that activate energies or stimulate action are Mars and the Sun (also Uranus, an outer planet, when it is direct).  You can often use Uranus to pinpoint the timing for events within a couple of days.  The progressed Moon also stimulates activity and this takes place the closer it is to being direct.  The progressed Moon has an influence for a period of three months, when in aspect.  The influence from the progress Moon is when it is one degree approaching, one degree while direct and one degree separating.

For example, if Venus is 15 degrees Capricorn in your chart, as Pluto begins to affect Venus, you will notice some activity, at least on a mental level.   When Pluto is about 1 degree or less of being direct, its energies will grow in intensity as it approaches.  If transiting Mars or the transiting Sun is moving towards this 15 degree Capricorn, or in opposition (180 degrees) to this degree or in square (90 degrees) to this degree, it will stimulate activity and bring out the potential of what these energies suggest in your chart.  You will also have to look at which house is being transited by Pluto as well as the house natal Pluto resides in within the birth chart as these will be the areas of life that will be affected by this transit of Pluto to Venus.

The trines (120 degrees) and sextiles (60 degrees) from transiting Sun and Mars will also affect the timing but it may not be as noticeable as the square or opposition and especially by the conjunction (0 degrees).  The conjunction is widely used as a timer in Astrology.  Checking to see when this is activated either from the Sun or Mars will help you to pinpoint the potential for activity.  You may be able to narrow down the time to one or two weeks.  As mentioned, the progressed Moon especially by conjunction will often activate any planet it makes contact with and you can often use this as a tool for pinpointing timing as well.

FULL MOON IN ARIES OCTOBER 16

On Sunday, October 16, 2016, we will experience a Full Moon in the sign of Aries at 23 degrees.  Full Moon cycles are a culmination of our plans or a time to harvest the seeds we planted some six months earlier when the New Moon was in Aries (in this case). 

This October 16 Full Moon (called the Hunter or Harvest Full Moon) is in conjunction with transiting Uranus. 

Aries is a great sign for new beginning, setting projects in motion and moving forward in your objectives.  Whatever you may have begun at the New Moon cycle will now be ripe for harvesting or manifesting.  Pushing yourself forward into new directions and applying yourself vigorously and with intent is suggested.  Regardless of what area of life this may entail (described by the house position in your Astrology chart) now will be a good time to see what your efforts have manifested.

Uranus involved with these energies often suggests that the plans move forward in somewhat unusual methods, often not in the way you might have originally planned them to go.  The end result however will offer the best results, if you have taken the necessary steps for a successful conclusion.  Taking shortcuts and moving quickly may be a tendency with this combination (Aries).  Although this may work in your favour, it is not suggested as you will have a greater chance for success if you carry out each step one by one.

Uranus seeks freedom of action and pushes you in directions that will create further growth on some level.  Uranus acts impulsively as does Aries.  The two of these energies together could manifest almost anything of a progressive nature.  Uranus suggests that anything that now no longer serves a real purpose should be removed and replaced by something that is more beneficial.  Restrictions and challenging conditions will be met head on and dealt with accordingly.  Again, our actions under these influences may be somewhat impulsive and even a bit rebellious in their nature.  Be mindful.

As mentioned, what you set in motion some six months ago will now go through some changing conditions and you can expect the unexpected.  There might be some twists and turns in the process that you were not planning on and the end result might not even look anything like the vision of six months earlier.  Uranus’ desire is to make things happen, that actually need to happen.  Uranus can create an “ending” of sorts which is required so that something new and more suitable can replace the old, outdated ideas and ways.  Uranus’ energies can be suddenness, unexpected and quite unconventional in their approach. 

Be ready for some type of change of direction especially if you have other planetary links or angles in the 23 degree range.  The more links you have, the greater the potential for unexpected and exciting things to materialize. 

Uranus brings change but often these changes are short lived.  If this is the case, you will still be affected in positive ways even if they are abrupt and disruptive.  The purpose of the changes that take place will be more evident as the events unfolding.   Enjoy the ride!  It will be an exciting and an unusual experience.

WHAT'S NEXT

Not long ago we did a post on the awakening process and how “everything” is already a part of who we are.  We reminded ourselves that we do not have to search for answers for they are already in place if we choose to listen and see.  We just have to be open to the answers and the assistance that is always offered to us.  These are not things only available to the minority or privileged few.  These are available to everyone, as long as we are open, and follow our inner more conscious thoughts as these help to stimulate the awakening.

Follow through and staying focused on gratitude and appreciation (being in the positive mind frame) initiates the process.  Once the conscious process has begun, you will notice that life seems to run smoother.  There are not as many rough spots to go through (not because the lessons are no longer there but due to the fact that our attitude towards them is healthy and open) and even the challenging conditions do not carry the same weight or stress as they once did.  We become more accepting, more open to dialogue and life seems to change.   You may not think that this change is your doing, but it is your acknowledgement and understanding that moves you forward.

You will move at your own pace.  Do not be in a rush.  When you look back and review your progress you will notice that you have much more clarity than you previously.  Sometimes the changes are so gradual, they go unnoticed at first.  With your growth comes a realization that all the little things that once slipped by now seem to draw your attention.  This is the moment calling you to living simply within it.  It contains everything we require.  Once we begin to utilize the moment, we are present within it and all of our needs are met. 

Take life one step at a time.  It is try beauty in motion.  Within the moment, life is limitless just as you are!

AGES 54-57

Anyone between these ages of 54 to 57 are now entering a stage in life when maturity is in full bloom. Your younger years are behind you. You are beginning to see yourself as an integrated whole and no longer just an extension of others. You are becoming clear on who you are as an individual and are comfortable enough that what others think is not that important anymore. You are who you are and that is just fine.

This is a stage when you are more concerned about life itself, than living up to other people’s expectations. You have formed or are forming relationships that make you whole. You have come to a point where you basically know yourself and are liberated with this knowledge. Relationships still have a place in your heart, some even deeper than anything experienced previously, but you can rid yourself of unwanted or draining relationships, if you need too.

This is not to say that you have become cold or uncaring. It is quite the opposite. You are beginning to understand what it is that you need and will form more meaningful relationships in order to build on this.

This period is all about self-fulfillment and self-honesty. If you have been working well within these boundaries and living your life through generosity and love, you are well on your way to a more rewarding and satisfying life. You are on your way to the second Saturn return and you probably remember your first Saturn Return which took place around the age of 29. This was a time when you experienced life’s events to the fullest and would have matured immensely as you experienced a period of transformation on many levels.

There are several astrological factors that are in effect through the ages of 54 to 57. You will be experiencing the second progressed lunar return, which in short speaks of your coming of age emotionally. You will also be going through the Uranus trine Uranus transit, which is usually accompanied with excitement and the beginning of something new. Neptune is also in trine to its natal position which will help you gain a more realistic point of view on where your life is heading. For many individuals, Pluto is also making a trine to its natal position which could be termed a period holding transformation in that we learn to tap into our core. You, if between the ages of 54-57, are also going through the third nodal return which is directed towards a reorientation within and a clearer focus on life’s direction.

These astrological transformations that take place during this time frame usually signify a deep transformations on many different levels. Explaining these fluctuations is basically impossible in a post of this length but you now should have an idea why life is going through changes on so many levels.

Enjoy the transformations taking place in your life during these ages and prepare for the next major transition to unfold as you enter the last years of your fifties. The last few years of the fifties marks the beginning of the second Saturn return and many of us will or have experience huge transformations during this aspect. Some contemplate retirement while others begin anew. One thing is for certain this will be a fruitful time and everything begins to materialize and gather momentum with the second Saturn return approaching.

This is a high point in life and you are entering into what many call the “awakening of self” period in life. Stay tuned to the higher frequencies in life that are available and enjoy your unfolding.

IT IS WITHIN REACH

Mystical unfolding is not some miraculous event that only happens to the chosen few. There is potential of for everyone. Enlightenment and its experience is not an idea or concept; it is a belief structure and attitude which is in hands of the believer. We are all born the same and are linked to all of creation, so when one of us moves forward and expands, we all move forward and expand.

Living our lives according to those feelings and quiet whispers that stem from deep within is part of the process of enlightenment. These are the guiding forces that push us ahead towards recognizing what is already a part of our true identity. We are at the foothills of understanding and are slowing opening to true understanding each moment of our day. Do not sit in wait for something magnificent to happen. Recognize that it is already a part of you. Looking for something implies that it is missing in some way and not part of your life.

You are at the controls; you are in control. What is IS due to your perception of what you believe to be possible.

We are all part of this unfolding story. We do not NEED (for it is not essential) anyone to guide us; we can simply listen to the voice within and believe. It is certainly okay to WANT someone to assist us however.

Just as mystical insight can be very subtle, such is our awakening process.

Awaken to that possibility for these possibilities reside in each waking moment. The truth is already a part of you and any answers to the questions you ask can be found within. Listen to the quiet voice. Remain open and in anticipation just as you wait for a knock on the door when you know company is on their way.

TRANSITING NEPTUNE SQUARE THE SUN

If your Sun is either in Gemini or Sagittarius and in or around 10 degree, you have had Transiting Neptune squaring your Sun. Neptune has probably been in square to your Sun for up to 1 ½ years and I imagine that you have been on occasion struggling with these energies and are getting a little fed up with uncertainty in life. You have probably been somewhat lost and in search for some answers for some time and although previous to this time you might have felt in control of your destiny, you are probably wondering if things will ever clear up.

You may have been experiencing a time of bewilderment in connection with your work which is in a state of flux and goals may seem out of reach. Illusive could be a word that fits the time while Neptune is making this square. You may feel as though you have lost your bearings and even feel unsure of who you are and where your place is in the world. Part of you may feel as though it is useless to even pursue anything out of fear of failure or defeat. You may feel depressed and disillusioned even unsure of what reality looks like. This is a trying period and forcing yourself to fixate on positive reinforcement may be quite challenging.

Neptune in transit can be felt as far away as 5 - 7 degrees by some more sensitive individuals, but will slowly fade away as it gets 2 – 3 degrees past direct. Recognizing Neptune’s tendency to keep things out of focus can help you to understand the forces at work in your life. Life can be vague and unclear and all this uncertainty will make you reach further within for some comfort and solace. Centering yourself and building an inner core is part of the process during this time.

This is a particularly good time to reach out to mysticism and the psychic connection, because although goals and life’s direction may be off somewhat, the mystical channels can open for you, especially if you have other links in your natal chart that identify these latent traits that can now surface. Between the two Sun signs (Gemini and Sagittarius) Sagittarius might be open to such energies while Gemini might not be willing to go the extra mile in order to open the mystical door. There is some restlessness in both signs but particularly so with Gemini.

Above all else your inner sense of self needs nourishing and a focus on positive energy during this cycle in your life. Steer clear of any self-defeatist attitudes and do not run away from any problems you might be encountering at this time. Do not hide your head in the sand. Face life head on and deal with any adversity. Do not sit and waste your energies.

Although you feel as though you want to be by yourself, make sure you are not. You need the help of trusted friends and people that will offer positive feedback to this temporary situation. Their clarity over the situations might help you understand more clearly what is taking place in your life. Stay put in life and know that things will soon clear and that an opening is in sight.

Check to see which house transiting Neptune is transiting through. This will provide you with insight into the area of life being affected. Also check to see which house your natal Neptune is in and how Neptune is aspected by other natal planets. This will give you further information as to what you can expect and how severe things might feel. It will also provide you with insight into how you might work things out.

Things will clear. Just be patient and believe that life will look after your needs.
