SOLAR ECLIPSE FEBRUARY 15/2018

We are focusing on the energies of the solar eclipse we will experience on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 3:51 p.m. EST (It will not be visible to us, however). 

Solar eclipses will often herald the timing of new events following the ending of situations that no longer serve a real purpose in our lives.  With the energies of the solar eclipse, there is a signalling of a time to move forward and shed ourselves of baggage to bring about a turning point. 

What we leave behind under this influence usually never returns.  It is the finality of something specific (identified often by the house position of the Eclipse in your personal chart).  These changes or endings come to the forefront in unusual ways and can be often surprising in nature....unexpected shall we say.  We will, however, receive hints of this approach before the actual timing of the eclipse.

As mentioned, the change is often irreversible.  The changes can either happen quickly or occur over a period of months.  Visible change often takes place within a few weeks of the actual eclipse itself.  If you find that nothing of significance happens under this influence, check with your family or close friends.  It should also be noted that unless the eclipse happens within seven degrees of a planet in your birth chart, the energies may not be that noticeable.

If the eclipse falls in the same element as your Sun sign (water, earth, air or fire) and is within the seven degree orb of influence, it is usually quite favourable and things seem to go your way.  This will be of benefit to you, often in quick order (especially because transiting Uranus is sextile this positioning under the current influence we are focused on). 

Eclipse’s energies are much stronger than normal energies of the New or Full Moons.  The energies, however, can sometimes be disruptive yet the outcome over time is always favourable even if it does not appear this way initially.  Change is often a requirement and there are times when we hide our head in the sand and refuse to move ourselves in directions that would be helpful.  Do not dig in your heals.

Sometimes these changes seem random and if you pay attention to events and signals leading up to the eclipse, you may find indicators as to what might happen.  If the eclipse allows you to proceed and lead the way, it is best to wait a few weeks or longer before making important decisions that will affect you in personal ways, or affect others in personal ways. 

Mercury will be conjunct the upcoming eclipse on February 15, 2018, and its energies will assist in the mental processing of the conditions influenced by the eclipse.  The message being brought forward often takes place one month prior and about one week after the eclipse. 

Have a look at transiting Mars and when it is in same degree of the eclipse (27 degrees Aquarius), it often instigates activity.  Transiting Saturn also plays a part in the process, although in this specific instance, it will not be within orb over the whole period of this solar eclipse influence.  Saturn usually suggests some karmic influence with the situation and its lessons are quite profound as long as you do not fight the process.

Make sure you look into the house affected by this Solar Eclipse as well as the opposite house as this axis will become activated.  Have a look in your natal chart as well as your solar chart to establish which areas of life are being activated, as well. 

If this Solar Eclipse follows your birthday (the first eclipse of your solar return chart) it will be very significant to the upcoming year.  Remember the closer it is in degree to the Sun or any other planet or angle within your chart, the more impact it will have in your life.

Many people fear eclipses and sometimes rightfully so as the changes that take place can be profound, but respect would be a better terminology than fear as the changes that take place although often profound are necessary for our evolutional growth and will be quite helpful over time.

URANUS

Uranus is the planet of revolution and often sudden and drastic change.  It can cause havoc in people’s lives when in transit.  It is the ruler of Aquarius, the water barer, and is commonly known as the awakener.  Uranus’ influence will function as a huge factor in making necessary changes to your life.  Uranus makes changes in areas of life that have outgrown their purpose and require alteration.  Uranus insists on liberation from anything that could be considered traditional or restrictive in nature.  It creates a desire for the new and unique and often produces this in unexpected and in unconventional ways.

Uranus moves through each sign in approximately 7 years and takes a full 84 years to circle the full Zodiac.  During its movement, it creates quick results and a feeling of liberation and freedom from restrictions.  It governs universal brotherhood and is humanitarian in its nature.  Uranus’ energy will force you to have an honest look at life’s issues and then make all necessary changes.  If you choose not to adhere to what is being proposed, it often acts in a much more abrupt manner and in ways that are out of your control.

Uranus is rebellious in its nature and pushes you forward with a need for independent thinking and a flair for the unconventional and unique.  Uranus also has been known to produce shocking awakenings when your eyes have been closed to what is now required.  It governs universal truths and intuition. 

Anyone with strong Uranus tendencies has a unique way of translating these truths, quite often in an abrupt, matter-of-fact fashion.

Uranus’ action is unpredictable, imaginative and very inspirational.  It is the higher octave of Mercury and therefore is considered a planet linked to your mental processing.  It deals a lot with potential outcomes and is future oriented.  Uranus pushes you to come out into the open and express your uniqueness and creativity.  It is linked with advanced mental quickness and agility, similar to Mercury, although the thinking process may be considered bohemian in its nature.

Uranus rules electricity and anything electronic, such as computers and technology at its newest levels.  Uranus is anything but conventional and depending where it is found in your chart, will indicate where you choose to reveal your originality and uniqueness. 

If, for example, you have Uranus closely linked to the Ascendant in the first house, your originality will shine through.  Many would consider you a bit of an eccentric and you would not be ashamed of this flair as it helps you stand apart from the crowd.  Uranus will push you to be different and also to be proud of your uniqueness.

TRANSITING URANUS OPPOSITION NATAL MERCURY

Mercury, although known as the planet of the mind and communication, on its own is relatively neutral in its expression; it does not favour any one direction.  It is neither positive nor negative in communication techniques.  The sign placement, house placement and aspects to Mercury are how its energies become activated.

When linked with chaotic Uranus, the planet known as the awakener, Mercury’s released energy is often sudden and unobstructed.  Communication practices can be quite erratic and unusual in their expression and behaviour.  One might say things completely out of character, and anything new and exciting may be explored.  Even someone with an even keel placement of Mercury in Capricorn or Taurus, for example, would go off track and make comments that are foreign and out of the norm for them.  They might surprise others with the candor statements and come up with some off-beat remarks and observations.

Anyone during this aspect may find that their response time is much faster than normal, and they are more flexible than usual.  They may find interest in subjects that are considered unusual even bohemian in nature and will open the door to dialogue that others would find strange for them to even consider.  With the opposition aspect, this transit often involves others and their expressions.  You may find that they are quick on the draw, stimulate your imagination and take you to places you would not normally go.

Sometimes life speeds up and they might find that every day events seem to be happening in quick and unexpected manners.  The mind is quick and reactive and is easily stimulated.  Anything new now holds their interest.  They may look at life from a completely different perspective than normal and any changes that take place may remain as part of their new makeup. 

Much will depend on what house transiting Uranus is moving through within the Astrology chart.  They may find that if Uranus is on the cusp of a new house that the area of life indicated by the house will undergo significant change and disruption, as anything new and free from hindrance will draw their attention. 

They should also have a look at the house their natal Mercury is in, as well as the house natal Uranus is in, as these can become areas of life that are undergoing mental stimulation and may lead to significant change.  Much will depend on the overall condition of natal Mercury and how easy expression is released.  This can be determined by the natal aspects to Mercury.

This can, however, be a great time of learning and the individuals experiencing this opposition should pay attention to what comes their way.  Anything new which hints of freedom will be Uranus generated.

MATERIAL LIFE

We have had clients mention that they frequently find themselves completely immersed, almost obsessed, with material gain.  They advise that they have spent much of their lives acquiring financial stability and continue on their quest to grow their wealth.  They feel overwhelmed and obsessed yet no matter how much they have accumulated, they never seem to be satisfied with what has been achieved.  While gathering momentum towards these objectives, these individuals feel they have lost sight of the fact that life also has a deeper purpose.

Our objectives, although we live in a material world, do not have to be completely and overwhelmingly focused on monetary wealth.  Do not get me wrong, we can build our savings.  There is nothing wrong with financial security and working towards this, but money is not the only wealth we require as humans.   We do live in a material world and working hard towards comfort can be a temporarily rewarding but it can also feel as though something is always missing in life.

Financial wealth is satisfying in the moment but loses its importance as we adjust to it.  Something has to fill the gap that material gain just does not satisfy.  We need to find ways to deal with our hunger for more and although it feels good living in comfort, it is not enough.

What then can give us the satisfaction and fulfillment that we so hunger for?

When we look back on our journey, what will be the highlights?  

Each of us has to choose how we want to create the answer to these questions.  I am certain the answer will contain some type of connection with others, with sharing emotions, with sharing experiences, with connecting with the energies of all that surrounds us. 

What makes you feel content, makes your heart feel full, allows you to feel gratitude?

TRANSITING URANUS OPPOSITION NATAL MOON

Transiting Uranus in opposition to the natal Moon can be quite disruptive emotionally.  You may find that emotional responses are erratic, to say the least, and you may find that outbursts of emotional expression that are not the norm for you (when this aspect is in effect).  These erratic emotional responses seem to come out of nowhere. 

You may not be prepared for what happens to you on an emotional level.  Your reactions can be quick and drastic and quite surprising.

Quite often these emotional responses seem to be ignited by outside influences, often directly related to what someone else has said or done.  It seems as though others bring things outbursts to the surface and we react.  Remember, however, you still have control of your response to whatever takes place in life.  Take a moment before expressing yourself.

You may want to break free of any emotional confrontations and some individuals with this aspect can and will simply clear themselves from any obstructions or irritations.  You may just get up and walk away, as a change of scenery often is exactly what is needed.  There is no need to participate in arguments or intrusive behaviour.  Any type of personal limitation or restriction can be very difficult to handle under this influence, even for those that normally can bend and adjust with all of life’s conditions.

The Moon is often associated with change and is frequently associated with the home and personal life.  Some pick up and leave simply because of a strong need for personal freedom.  For those younger individuals still living at home, this may be the time when they move out on their own in search of personal liberation.  They choose to become independent and self-sufficient, relying on no one for assistance.  This may be hard on parents but also quite understandable as there comes a time when everyone has to leave the security of home and family and break free to live their own lives. 

There is often problems stemming from the mother under this influence and this is not to say that she is behaving inappropriately.  She may simply be standing in the way of what the child considers progress.  It is best for the parents not to hold a tight reigns on any individuals under this aspect.  What these individuals require right now is personal space.

Many of the old ways are no longer suitable and although the old ways may feel safer, the energies of this aspect can be a great time to start anew and move in a direction that suits the individual’s personally.  Allow all things and information to surface before making any radical changes to your life however. 

Uranus often acts on impulse and it is best to weigh things out before making a move.

TURNING A BLIND EYE

We recently wrote a post on the presentation of world and local conditions by the media and how it sells ratings.  It was suggested by one individual that to see the world in a positive light can be considered to be “hiding our head in the sand”. 

We referred to world conditions and our intent was and never is to avoid truth.  Our world can appear to be teetering on a course of destruction at times.  We ARE required to do our part to make our worldly home a safe and health place to live.  Our intention was and always is to provoke food for thought and the realization that our actions and belief structure influence our internal world as well as our external world.

Our thoughts and intentions…….our beliefs and expectations mold our environment; they mold our world. 

If we choose to focus our attention on negativity and on each of the challenging conditions of our world, this is what we will see and this will be all that we know of our world.  We draw more of the same into our lives.  If we recognize our thoughts as generating factors that eventually build our life, we have to acknowledge that our focus becomes extremely relevant to our life’s conditions and eventually evolving externally into our surroundings.

It is therefore suggested that rather than focus on the negativity in each life situations, we instead turn our attention to the wonder and love that also surrounds us. 

It is our intention to help others realize that what they focus on gradually manifests into what they live.  If we lose our job, it may or may not be a direct result of our actions, but how we deal with this event is completely up to us.  This we have complete control over.  We can sit and mope and focus on the “why me” or we can take the opportunity to move forward in a new direction and empower ourselves by learning something new or “hit the bricks” to finding that new job.  When one door closes, another door opens, if we BELIEVE this to be true. 

Which focus will have the better outcome?

We are not turning a blind eye.  We do not ignore what happens in our world but we choose to focus on the beauty, the hope, the love, etc. that IS our world.  The more we can focus on these, the more of these we will find. 

THIS is what I want to pass on to our future generations.  What better way is there to teach future generations?  Should we not be the example for this?
