TRANSITING URANUS CONJUNCT NATAL SUN (MARCH 2018)

Transiting Uranus is in the final degrees of Aries and although at present (March 2018) this conjunction to the Sun in Aries is nearing the last degrees, it can be applied to anyone with their Sun in Aries regardless of what degree their Sun is in. 

For the purpose of this post, we are reviewing this conjunction for those with their Sun in Aries from about 24 degrees to Aries’ final degree (before Uranus moves into the sign of Taurus on May 16, 2018).  Uranus stays in Taurus until it moves back (goes retrograde) into Aries once again on November 7, 2018.  On March 6, 2019, Uranus will finally move into Taurus again and not return to Aries for about 77 years.

Uranus and the sign of Aries often indicates a time of revolutionary change, and since Uranus stays in the same sign approximately seven years, (total cycle 84 years) it is safe to say that these changes have been apparent for some 7 years now (when looking at the current energies of Aries).  Uranus often speaks of alteration and a new direction.  It often pushes towards something that requires a complete transformation.  The Sun speaks in terms of goals and aspirations.  With this combination, we could surmise that those with this position have had their life goals change direction over this time (depending on what degree their Sun is in Aries).

These goals are often personal in nature, although they could involve occupational goals, as well as internal goals.  Uranus often provides us with the push so that we see that something needs adjustment and often brings to light indicators that a change of direction is required.  In the beginning these indicators can be milder or subtle.  Over time, if we do not push forward with what is being suggested, it can often take the form of a more aggressive shove.  Sometimes the changes indicated can come at us in the extreme if we ignore the energies in the beginning and this new more aggressive assault can come without warning.  Uranus is rather impulsive in its actions although as mentioned it often does give gentle indicators along the way.

If your Sun is closely tied to the Ascendant and in the first house, you would have noticed marked events and changes taking place that probably changed the course of your life to a great degree.  Now, although these changes may have been rather dramatic and even life altering, they are set in motion because life had stagnated and a change of direction is what is being called for.  This could involve your relationship, your occupation, your home and in some cases your grandparent.  The changes were personal in nature and often unexpected.  As mentioned if you didn’t notice the subtle indicators, these changes may feel as though they have come at you from out of the blue, and you may not have been given the chance to adjust to them before they happened.  Perhaps the indicator were subconscious in nature or hidden in some way as these changes would have been associated with the 12^th house which refers to, among other things, the hidden matters.

When (and if) Uranus crosses the Ascendant, you may make changes to your personal appearance.  If Jupiter was somehow connected to this aspect, you may have put on weight or if Venus was connected you may have tried to beautify your looks.  You, yourself, if you have this aspect, will have gone through massive personal changes.  As this positioning begins to move out of orb, the changes will be permanently set in place and you will have been altered from what you once were.

It is best not to mess with Uranus as the changes implied by its energies are usually something that is a requirement of the soul.  Often you have little to say with what takes place and it is best to go with the flow and not to fight the process.  Fighting the process only creates difficulty and does not stop the inevitable. 

One thing is almost certain, the changes that take place are called for and a new individual often emerges especially if tied to the Sun and the Ascendant.  In most cases it is exactly what was needed and although it may take some time to adjust to, it will work in your favour in the long run (again this applies to those with transiting Uranus conjunct the Natal Sun in Aries.  Much, of course, depends on your attitude towards life and these events.

PUSH INTO SPRING

Spring is a wonderful time of renewal.  Eventually sprouts begin to push their way through the earth, trees begin to bud, the grass greens, snow switches to rain and flowers bloom. 

This is a time for new beginnings and refreshing that which has gone stagnant.  Our world and our lives shed their wintery veil.  Light shines forth and there is a promise of longer, brighter days. 

Even without the tell tale signs of nature, you know in your heart it is coming.  In more tangible ways you can feel it in the air and smell it in the winds.

Along with this new life springing forth in nature, we experience the ability to have fresh starts in our lives.  This is a time of renewed vigor and an awakening of sorts that draws us nearer to the promise of warmth and sunshine in our hearts and souls.  We can mirror and utilize the energy brought on through the changing of the seasons to stimulate us and push us in our pursuits, new or old.  A new beginning is at hand.  This is a new start and it brings with it the promise of new inner life growing from the seeds we can now plant.

This is the time to renew our motivational skills, to push ahead in our pursuits and find outlets which can help us renew our commitment to ourselves for further growth and evolution.  We may find that we are now more willing to push ahead in our endeavours that we had allowed to slip over the winter.  We may find that this renewed vigor for life propels us into new-found areas that may not have been available before this time.  It is really up to each of us as to what we plan on doing with this energy.

The seasons of Nature can also mirror life’s seasons.  As spring brings new growth, we too can move and grow in new areas of life. 

Take advantage of the energies at hand.  Move ahead into the new.  Reach beyond any limits we may have placed on ourselves now.  The only thing that is holding us back is us.  We are our own motivation or our own stagnation.  Growth and advancement are at hand.  What will you do with the energy?

SUN IN ARIES, late on MARCH 20, 2018

We have just come through the sign of Pisces, a sign which is known for its relatively quiet, meditative, gentle mannerisms and potential spiritual overtones.  We are now entering into the much more aggressive, purposeful and push towards achievements sign of Aries.  This of course is not to say that achievement and purpose is not linked to anyone who has their sun sign in Pisces or any other sign for that matter.  Pisceans have over the centuries offered our world great advancements forwarded, but Aries is a much more “go for it” type of energy.

Aries would like nothing better than a clean slate and an opportunity to reach out into the world to make advancements that will further its own objectives.  These objectives may also be tied to a potential gain for others, but there has to be something attached to this movement forward that will foster a type of personal achievement.  Aries is the go getter of the Zodiac.  Anyone with strong Aries in their Chart is often the first one in and they are not afraid of picking up the pieces if they fall short of their goals.

Arian individuals work best on their own but can use the help of others as long as these Aries individuals have a leading hand in what takes place.  They are leaders rather than followers. 

Their greatest shortfall is that they may move too quickly without taking the time for preparation and because of this will make their fair share of mistakes.  As mentioned, however, they are able to pick up the pieces and begin anew. 

Ask an Aries for their opinion, and they will not only supply you with their advice but will be quite willing to help you walk down that road you are focused on.

Those individuals with strong Aries’ influence are often the first to rush in and are very aggressive in their pursuit.  They feel that they know what is best for them and this is often true.  They will aggressively seek their own path with or without the assistance of others.  Some feel as though they have a “me first” attitude and this might be correct.  They will not carry out their objectives, however at the cost of those less fortunate then themselves.  If this does not come natural, an Aries individual should focus on taking others into consideration, (even if their objectives are pure and focused on helping others) a good rule of thumb is to take a quick review of motives.  Contrary to their beliefs, Aries individuals do not always know what is best for others.  Much of this depends on what sign Mercury is in within their birth chart as well as the house position of the Sun.

Aries is a cardinal and fire sign which indicates a push for action, an aggressive often undisciplined nature and a strong outgoing individual. 

We would do well not to stand in the way of progress or try to stop an Aries individual in their pursuits. 

Aries is ruled by the planet Mars and those with the sign of Aries strong in their chart are not afraid of doing battle to get to where they want to go.  They will not give in easily; as a matter of fact, Aries individuals may not give in regardless of the resistance they may face.  They believe in themselves, stand tall in the face of adversity and will push ahead often reaching their objectives in life.

Aries people will have an adventurous spirit. 

Arian individuals make great entrepreneurs because of this lack of fear to take chances.  They understand instinctively that sooner or later they will manifest their dreams.  Very few of these individuals know fear and when dangerous situations occur, they would be the first to jump in and do the heroic acts.

NEW MOON IN PISCES - MARCH 17, 2018

The New Moon on Saturday, March 17, 2018, will be in the sign of Pisces at 26 degrees.  This degree puts it in the third decant which is a very sensitive and emotional position. 

The New Moon’s energies are ideal for planting seeds for goals that flow easily with the energies of the Piscean Moon.  These goals ideally can be harvested some time down the road (six months is a good harvest time when the Full Moon is in the sign of Pisces).  The energies of this moon related to mysticism and psychic connections (characteristics that come natural for Pisces).  It is also a good time to go deep within to study self and make important self-discoveries so that you can continue your transformations towards a higher level of awareness.

In addition in or around March 23, 2018, Mercury go into retrograde but this reverse motion should not overly affect this New Moon.  Mercury turns retrograde at 17 degrees forming a distant semi-sextile (out of orb but those more individuals who are more sensitive to the energies and will feel this influence) to this lunar positioning.  If, however, you do have other connections to this positioning of Mercury in your chart and you also have connections to this Lunar positioning (allow a 5 degree orb) then perhaps even though New Moons often suggest that it is a good time to begin projects or start something new, it might be advisable that you wait until Mercury goes back to its direct motion on or about April 16, 2018. 

If, however, you do not have Mercury retrograde in your natal chart and you do not have any planets or significant points (Ascendant or Midheaven) close to this degree of Mercury, you can take advantage of the energies at hand to plant your seeds of life.

Transiting Mars is also making a square to this lunar positioning and this combination can suggest strong sexual overtones and sometimes aggressive interaction.  Mars is related to the energy drive and when it makes a square sometimes the energy is inhibited or stifled in some way when it really needs some release.  If you can find creative ways of releasing this energy and push yourself through any adversity that might occur under this square, you should be capable of making great strides in the proper direction.  Remember, however, that there can be powerful emotional ties to this configuration.  The emotions may be strong and unusually difficult to handle.  Use the tools at hand.

At the same time, we have a trine to Jupiter to the lunar positioning in Pisces.  Jupiter always suggests growth and expansion and often produces opportunities and good luck in reaching your objectives.  Jupiter is moving through its retrograde cycle and this suggested that the normal energies of Jupiter are not as enhanced as they would be if it were moving in a direct motion.  Jupiter often helps with situations even when in retrograde motion, however.  Some say that it works in similar fashion to the energies of Saturn when in retrograde which may stimulate you to pursue whatever you are trying to implement with more vigour than you would under different conditions.  You may find that there are some challenges to overcome and obstacles in the way of the project, whatever they might be.  Progress may seem to be slow but that does not mean that you will not meet your target.

Regardless of what energies are in place, you should always follow your dreams.  Without the focus and commitment needed from you, your dreams never have the potential to unfold.

OUR WALK OF LIFE

We are continually awakening to the mysteries that this magnificent journey reveals.  Life is a magical experience, and it is perfectly normal to be in awe as this mystery exposes its wonders.  Some feel the oncoming energies and others lie in wait of what is next, but either way, it is always a blessing to learn the lessons even the more tense ones.

The experience gained through what we define as adversity and through what we accept as serene both enlightenment us.  We can venture forth with little expectation or knowledge of what will unfold.  We live our lives in the moment hopefully aware and appreciative of its splendor and are filled with excitement.

PREDICTIVE TOOLS AND TIMERS IN ASTROLOGY

You can never over study the basics of Astrology.  The basics are the foundation of any Astrological practice and the better you understand these fundamentals, the easier it will be when you begin predictive work.

There are different techniques used when deciphering a natal chart and when predicting the energies for the future.  There are numerous types of charts prepared by Astrologers to define the energies for the future (forecasting).  The main two chart types used by most Western Astrologers are “Transits and Progressions” as well as the “Solar Return Chart”.  These two types of charts give the overall picture of how a person’s life is and can unfolding.  These charts can be commissioned for any specific period in time (future or past).

Transits are the current movement of planets through the natal chart.  During the transiting planets movement they will make aspects (angles) to the planets and angles in the natal (birth) chart which activate the potentials that are highlighted in the natal chart.  The outer planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) move slowly and therefore will have a profound effect on the birth chart planets and angle’s positions and their unfolding potential energies.  Uranus, Neptune and Pluto while in retrograde motion (the appearance of the planets moving backwards) can have up to a three year effect.  Their energies will strengthen as they approach the direct positioning (exact same degree as the natal planets).  The impact of these planets will have a lasting effect on our psyche and also create profound impacts in our lives.

The inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter) move much more quickly and therefore their influence is somewhat fleeting.  However when one of these planets go retrograde during its pass over one of our natal planets or points, the influence will be greater than if it were only in direct motion. 

The transiting Sun, Mars and Uranus can be used to calculate accurate timing, when they set off an already active aspect between an outer planet in transit and a natal planet or point.  Uranus can sometimes be used in pinpointing timing on the exact day when it transits over the natal position.

Progressions also have a profound effect on us, particularly from an internal perspective.  The progressed Sun and the progressed Moon do have powerful impacts and can also be used to evaluate an upcoming event.  The progressed Moon can also be used as a timing device.

Astrology charts can be prepared to determine the areas of life that will be affected, what types of energy will be activated, the duration of the event, the best ways to deal with these energies and whether they are working favourably or may be more challenging. 

It should always be noted, however, that all aspects regardless of our opinion of them (challenging or favourable) can be used constructively and will inspire growth, understanding and life lessons that will be carried forward and which will benefit the individual involved.
