We are one, always reaching on a soul level to connect with our pure essence.  Our sacred unity with source is also connected to all that is.  We strive to live in harmony with all of life.

We recognize and draw closer to this connection as we mature into ourselves reaching ever further into our most intimate being.  We are a spiritual connection dwelling momentarily in an earthly vehicle.  We are not our bodies.  We are not our thoughts.  We are eternal energy.  We are universal energy of pure love.

Our essence resonates on an internal level but reveals itself through an ongoing process to those that are ready to experience its existence.  Remaining open to this awakening, releases our bondage to material concerns.  It is within our grasp to realize our true self. 

We can open our hearts and resonate love, the love that IS our core.  In so doing, we awaken the same in others.  We are not segregated or separate from each other.  We all share this life together regardless of distance.

We are the facilitators and the manufactures of peace and love, regardless of our earth’s condition and what we experience through media and other external influences.  It is not hopeless unless you allow this expression to exist within you. 

Keep the process moving forward regardless of obstructions and challenges that lie before us.   Live by example and be the light for others, for you are the light that can shine in the shadows.  This is your essence.  Live it; be it and above all else, believe!

NO RETROGRADE PLANETS IN THE ASTROLOGICAL BIRTH CHART

The energies of a planets in retrograde in an Astrology chart tend to make us look inward.  Those individuals with several retrograde planets in their chart (and the magic number seems to be 5 to be termed “several”) tend to be introverted, even subdued and keep much to themselves.  The energies have difficulties working their way to the surface and are stifled.  It takes great effort to bring the energies to the surface and to make the necessary adjustments to challenge these deficiencies.  Personally, this Astrologer does not believe in deficiencies.  I tend to look at it as harnessed energy waiting for the opportune moment to be released.

Those people without retrograde planets in their birth charts are certainly in the minority.  It is said that roughly seven percent of people have this phenomena.  It is believed that the energies of all the planets are released, are given free reign and are allowed to flow freely.  This in turn can create an individual who may lack patience and they often do not use a cautious approach.  The waiting game is not part of their nature, and they much prefer to move things along.

There is usually great energy behind these individuals who do not have retrograde planets in their charts.  They work tirelessly towards achieving their objectives in life.  They have strong willpower and are persistent in their efforts to succeed.  They move forward similar to Aries often advancing with little forethought, if any, and they rarely lack belief in their own abilities. As a result, they are normally quite successful. 

Some individuals without retrograde planets in their chart do fall from time to time; however, this will not stop them from getting right back up and moving ahead again.  Their determination is steadfast and they rely on no one for approval or even assistance.   They believe in their own abilities and also stand behind their failures for they are valuable lessons.  These lessons would not be cause for alarm.  “Let’s just start again and see what happens” could be their motto.  

“If it does not work this time, perhaps it will the next time”, or “I will just need to make some minor adjustments” would be natural statements made by these individuals.

No retrograde planets produce individuals that are self-reliant and self-determined.  These traits can make them great entrepreneurs.  They are willing to take the plunge and often without much reserve. 

Most of these individuals would prefer to work alone.  This, however, can make them somewhat aloof and even distant as they unconsciously withdraw into themselves.  They may even feel misunderstood and judged wrongly by others, because of this loner type mentality.  This is only in extreme cases, however. 

It is always important to consider the whole chart before drawing any conclusions on one specific factor in a chart .  There are many things in the chart that can offset some of these characteristics, but moving forward and going it alone is quite common for someone without retrograde planets in their chart.

EMPOWERING YOURSELF

There is no reason we cannot give ourselves more freedom, self acceptance and self-promotion. 

We are fully capable of addressing any situation and have the ability to move in any direction that we may wish to take.  By being self reliant we gain internal strength and we recognize our own power which reassures us as to just what we are capable of doing and achieving.  By relying on others to make decisions or to channel our ideas, we sell ourselves short and we can soon lose sight of our own value.

Our decisions propel us forward and light our path.  It is so important to recognize our capabilities and gain strength with every decision we make. 

Do not be obsessed with potential failure.  We all make mistakes along the way.  We learn from our shortcomings and become wiser because of them.  We cannot hold back because of fear.  Fear is the only thing that stands in the way of progress.

We are our own personal answers.  No one else understands you the way you do.  Why should others dictate which path we take?  We should recognize our own personal strengths and there is no better way to do this than to keep pressing forward. 

Our life awaits our own personal promotion.  This is positive ego at its best.

TIMING FACTORS IN ASTROLOGY

The angles in an Astrology chart

·        Ascendant {AC}

·        Midheaven {Medium Coeli -MC)

·        Imum Coeli {IC} and

·        Descendant {DC})

are highly sensitive areas when touched by transiting (current placement) planets. 

The planets are also important in event forecasting, especially the outer planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) due to their slow rate of travel through the zodiac.  Due to the slow speed of their movement, the energies have a longer effect and can affect an area of your chart for several years.  Although you will be affected during the whole period of the aspect, the closer the aspect is to being direct, the stronger the energy.

It is important to look at the planet that is being transited and the natal aspects (aspects in your birth chart) to this planet along with any other transits or progressions that are influencing the degree in question.  If a natal planet has any other planets or key point in the birth chart affecting it by natal aspect, these additional planets or key points will also be affected by the transit in question.  The more aspects a natal planet receives from other natal planets and key points, the stronger the influence will be.  The energy of the planets involved and the house placements will help define how the energies might be released.  The overall picture, which includes the transiting planet, its house position and its natal position must be taken into consideration when unlocking the potential of a transit when it occurs.

When a transiting outer planet is within one degree of being direct to a natal planet by aspect, you should look at the transits of Uranus, Mars, the Sun as well as the progressed Moon.  When any of these planets activate the natal planet being affected, the energies will be released. 

For example, let’s say that transiting Pluto is squaring your natal Sun.  This aspect indicates that changes on a personal level are taking place.  This could also have a professional effect, but much will be determined by the house placement of the Sun and also Pluto.  The closer the degree is to being direct, the stronger the aspect.  With our example of the square, we would suggest that the planets are 0 degrees and 20 minutes apart, so the energies are strong as they are only out by half a degree).  It is also necessary to check to see if one of the planets that trigger an event is in the same degree particularly by conjunction, as this will undoubtedly activate an event and stimulate activity to take place.

Uranus can usually be used on its own to the exact degree to the minute defining activity in the area of life depicted by house positions.  Mars and the Sun will also activate what is potentially promised, but Uranus can often be counted on to release the energies often exact within a couple of days.  If transiting Uranus is making the aspect in the natal chart, this might be enough to determine when things will happen, but Uranus is very unpredictable and what to expect might be very difficult to pinpoint as with Uranus you have to expect the unexpected.

These timing factors can often help determine the potential timeline within a one month.  These timing planets can help define when things will happen.  The transit itself when separating (exact separation) from the natal point in question will also define how long the energies are active.  The energies will begin to subside after the exact aspect (with a square for example exactly 90 degrees) begins to separate.

With the proper delineation of a chart, Astrology can definitely point the way, although we as individuals still make the final decisions and our attitude towards any event will defines how the energies of that event will affect us.

ASTROLOGY COURSES

 

Holm Astrology is offering both a beginners Astrology course and a Level II Astrology class this fall. 

For those with an interest in Astrology but little practical knowledge, the beginner’s course (consisting of nine classes) which will commence Monday, September 10, 2018, would be the perfect place to start.  This will introduce you to the signs, planets, houses and more.  Please see our course outline at www.holmastrology.com/beginner-s-course

For those that have already taken our beginner’s course or have the equivalent knowledge covered in the course (see outline), Holm Astrology’s Level II Astrology course is commencing on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.  This Level II course will consist of ten classes, the main focus of which is transits.  Visit www.holmastrology.com/level-ii for a complete course outline.

 Classes for both courses will be from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. again Beginner’s on Mondays and Level II on Tuesdays.

NEW MOON ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2018

The New Moon on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:02 p.m. EDT will be positioned at 17degrees Virgo.  A New Moon set the stage for new ideas and the ability to move towards new directions.  It is the time to plant seeds in the garden of life. 

Virgo’s energies prefer to have everything in perfect order to put these plans in motion.  Virgo wants organization and if at all possible, perfection before it wants to move ahead.

If you have any planets in your natal chart close to 17 degrees, particularly by conjunction (0 degrees)(17 degrees Virgo), this New Moon might be a key to planting the seeds.  Take a look at which house this New Moon is in, in your chart.  The house location will provide you with information about the area of life involved.  If you have a lot of planets near this degree although in different signs, this could be a busy time.  If you are attempting to start something relevant, this may well be the time to decide to take the appropriate action.

Transiting Jupiter is making a sextile to this New Moon’s positioning.  Transiting Pluto is making a trine to the New Moon’s position.  Both transiting Jupiter and transiting Pluto will be at 18 degrees.  Trines and sextile speak of easy flow and opportunities and if the rest of your chart points in a similar direction (we always have to look at the full chart to get the full story), the energies are in place to make a move if you decide.

Jupiter promotes growth and expansion and often brings good luck into the equation.  Pluto speaks in terms of deep reflection and the uncovering of the truth.  Pluto might help with the transformation of what it is you are trying to move on.  Much, of course, will depend on how the rest of the chart is aspected at this time, but pushing ahead with a plan might not be a bad idea.  Make sure you have done your due diligence.  Pluto will certainly provide the push forward and its energies may work towards building something worthwhile down the road.

If the Midheaven (MC) or the ASC (Rising Sign or Ascendant) is tied in somehow to this New Moon, this could speak of a time of personal change and/or moving ahead with occupational aspirations.  If the Sun is involved, this might suggest opportunities to move ahead with plans that can take you towards the goals you have in place. 

Do not let negativity, worry or a feeling of failure stop you from moving ahead if your chart is suggesting a “Go-For-It” energy.  Move ahead and understand that nothing will ever be in a state of perfection particularly if you are looking for flaws.  You will, undoubtedly with the influence of Virgo, notice all the little flaws in your proposed project.  Do not be too hard on yourself.  You will never know what the final outcome will be unless you move forward with your plans. 

In about a month from now, review you progress.  Watch the seeds of your efforts sprout in the garden of life.  Just remember to nurture them.

RECHARGING OUR BATTERIES

Have you taken the summer as down time and now you are contemplating what you should be moving towards next? 

The batteries have been recharges and now let’s get moving. 

There truly is no such thing as a standstill.  Life may progress at a much slower rate (which is a personal perspective) but never does it not keep moving. 

We can get caught up in our expectations of where we should be but these expectations may be very unrealistic and not in line with life’s journey.  We forget to explore the moment and tend to place our attention on what we think we should be experiencing.

There are no shortcuts, no mistakes, no wrong turns.  We are always on track and ever-moving forward in our intended direction.  We simply need to recognize and accept this.

We do not know or see the full path that life will take us down and in the moment, it is not important.  To appreciate, we must focus on what surrounds us, right now....in this very moment.  See it for what it is.  See the beauty in each and every moment, whether easy or challenging.   

Right now....while reading this.  Stop.  Relax.  Release the babble of the mind and quietly experience the moment without judgement.  Forget the deadlines, just for this moment.  What do you feel?

Remember to take these recharging moments of silence and release (whether they are for 2 minutes or 2 hours). 

Now, our evolutionary batteries are ready for action.  We are empowered.  Move forward with confidence and a renewed feeling of connection and energy.  THIS IS LIFE.  Live it.  Believe in yourself every step of the way and BE!
