OBSTACLES AND OBSTRUCTIONS

Our personal journey can be littered with what we consider challenging conditions and situations.  It is our obligation to our self to hand over our view of “complicated” and refocus on the “valuable lessons”.  It is much easier to accept lessons than to focus on hurdles and challenges.  We accept lessons, take the information learned and then can move forward with newly acquired knowledge.

When we are caught in “hurdles” and “walls” mentality, there will be times when we believe we have no way out and our options are limited at best.  There actually is no avoiding some of life’s conditions but our acceptance of the situation can somehow make these events easier.  Attitude plays such a significant part in how events affect us.  Our attitude may not change the event but it can alter the emotional outcome.  We can find comfort and acceptance which in turn fosters a gentle knowing that life is about to take an alternate route.

Some situations and losses are seldom easy but through acceptance and faith in the process, we adapt and adjust to these changes.  Our minds, when allowed to run unchecked, play games with us and fabricate all kinds of melodramatic outcomes that rarely manifest in their full expression.

Change is guaranteed in life.  The question is will we fight the changes and allow our minds to create havoc or will we accept change as it happens adjusting our focus on the benefits of each event as it takes place.  Some days the benefit is hard to see.  Our attitude can be our greatest companion or our most feared enemy. 

We are born fighters.  Even our entry into this existence is a hard fought battle.  But we overcome and make our way. 

We cannot lose sight of the potentials that lie ahead.  Stay strong and have faith in yourself and in life.  Things may not turn out how we “wished” them to but know that on some level we will emerge victorious……..always!

TRANSITING NEPTUNE QUINCUNX SUN

While Neptune transits the natal chart, it is important that we see things as they are, not as we wish them to be. 

Neptune tends to colour our view and often puts a haze or veil on situations.  The saying “Seeing through rose-colored glasses” fits this situation perfectly as, under this influence, we tend to put people or life’s conditions high on a pedestal. 

This can become disheartening when the veil is lifted and we finally see things as they actually are.  Much, of course, will depend on the aspects that transiting Neptune is making to other natal planets as well as the planets involved and the houses they are located in within the Astrology chart.  The house Neptune is transiting through will also be of utmost importance as this is reflective of the area of life which is involved along with the Sun’s placement by house position with our example aspect today of transiting Neptune Quincunx (150 degrees) the natal Sun.

The Sun has to do with life goals and ambitions and our ability to succeed in life.  It helps us find our path in life, controls our destiny, deals with our vitality and sometimes refers to the father or important masculine people in our life. 

When Neptune is in transit to our Sun by quincunx, also known as inconjunct, it often speaks of a time when we need to or should make some alterations or adjustments to our plans.  Neptune can make us a little dreamy about what it is we want to manifest in our life.  The quincunx aspect has also been linked to health concerns but there has to be other factors pointing in the same direction in the chart for this to have any influence.

Sometimes these adjustments are rather subtle in nature, and we do not have to do too much in order to get on the real track.  Other times, this is not the case.  We may have been fooling ourselves for some time. This can suggest that it is time for a reality check although at other times we can get inspirational assistance once we begin to make alterations and accept what is in front of us.  We might want to go to outside sources for further guidance on what it is we are doing or what it is we believe is happening.

Much will depend on the house transiting Neptune is moving through.  Neptune moves slowly and will spend many years in one house.  This area of life will become activated when it transits other natal positions.  We will also need to see where natal Neptune is located in the chart as this provides further information as to what areas of life are involved and how things might unfold.  The natal aspects to Neptune will also provide information that might assist with understanding what is taking place.

If transiting Neptune makes favorable aspects to other natal positions, this can be a time of great revelation and intuitive insight.  The psychic realms can become more intriguing, and you should pursue these expressions and delve deeper to get an understanding of what this might mean for you.  Neptune is a mystical planet and offers insight into the psychic realm. 

You can allow an orb of influence of 5-7 degrees approaching and as it nears exactitude, the energies will strengthen.  The energies begin to fade as Neptune passes out of orb after being direct by 2 degrees of separation.  If Neptune moves into retrograde during this timeframe, it can have several passes over the same degree and be quite influential.  The first exact pass however, is usually the most powerful.

REFLECTIONS OF LOVE AND AFFECTION

We are all very different and the way we express our love can vary immensely.  Some express love and affection through the work they carry out for others.  Some are verbal and best express their love through words.  Others are physical and show their expressions of love through physical contact. 

Those that express their love though actions take on duties to show their love and affection they have for those that benefit from our actions.  These chores are not responsibilities or obligations.  When we feel obliged to another people’s needs, we are servicing what they require and this is not necessarily an expression of love. 

If our actions come from the heart then such actions will not feel as though they are a burden to carry.  Wanting to help someone through compassion because we feel their struggles or wanting to help them due to our love for them can help make the actions feel so light.  This not only helps those that we love, it also fills us with joy (our love keeps giving).  There is a difference between helping someone however and being expected to carry out these chores or actions.

Love is unconditional no matter if given to our partner, our children, our grandchildren, our siblings, our close friends and/or even a stranger.  Our expression of love flows freely and there is no need to keep score.  Our actions are simply a natural response to what our heart feels.

Recognising our partner’s form of expression is of utmost importance.  However, showing our love through all expressions, although uncomfortable for some, is ultimately an all round full expression of our love that everyone can understand.

TRANSITING JUPITER CONJUNCT MERCURY

When transiting Jupiter is in retrograde, its energies are not as responsive as when they are when Jupiter is moving in direct motion.  In retrograde, Jupiter has similar qualities as that of Saturn and will often deny the positive, good luck and optimistic approach usually associated with its energies.  Its energies are harnessed when retrograde and although we can still achieve and accomplish, it often takes great effort to make things happen.  The good fortune that often accompanies Jupiter is not operating at its maximum capacity to say the least.

When in direct motion Jupiter’s positive energies are released and quite often good luck and abundance follow a close aspect by Jupiter, although hard work may still be required particularly if in aspect to Saturn.  The other planets regardless of aspect offer energies connected to potential rewards and opportunities.

When Jupiter makes a conjunction to Mercury, (today’s topic), the energies of Mercury are expanded and the mind seems to work well and ideas can manifest that often result in optimistic results.  However you will have to watch for becoming overly expansive with your ideas and expecting too much or investing in what you might think is a good thing.  It might not be as grand as you think it might be under these energies.  Overconfidence is often part of the thinking process when Jupiter is involved.

Your mind might wander into what others might refer to as the higher dimensions and religious doctrines.  Spiritual practice may be heightened during a close encounter between Mercury and Jupiter.  You may also find yourself thinking about long distance travel and if you should happen to take a trip, although you should be careful not to overextend yourself financially, you may learn much from these travels.  Foreigners might provide you with insight that you may not have otherwise been taught or have been fortunate enough to experience.

Jupiter is a very promising and expansive energy and does often suggest opportunities to move forward in your life’s journey.  Always take into consideration whether Jupiter is being stagnated by its retrograde motion or allowed expression due to its expansive energies releasing in direct motion.  Check to see which house transiting Jupiter is moving through as this will provide you with the area of life involved in the equation.  Also have a look at the natal conditions as well as its natal house position as this will give you more information. 

A poorly aspected natal Jupiter does not operate as well as a well aspected natal Jupiter although the potential for growth is still great regardless of the nature of the aspects.  You just may have to work a little harder to make things happen.

VOID OF COURSE MOON IN ASTROLOGY

Void of Course Moon is a phenomenon that actually occurs quite frequently (approximately every two to three days).  The Moon is the fastest known planet (for lack of a better term) travelling through the Zodiac signs.  It takes the Moon two and one-half days to move from one sign to the next and during that time, it makes many aspects to all the planets in our solar system.

When the Moon reaches its furthest degree in a sign while still making a major aspect to one of the planets, (Conjunction, Sextile, Trine, Square and Opposition) it is not considered Void Of Course.  After the Moon completes its last applying aspect to one of these planets, (for example it makes a conjunction to Mars at 26 degrees and 36 minutes of Aries and then does not make another aspect to any planet until it reaches Taurus) it is void of course.  The Void of Course period could last as little as minutes or as long as a couple of days.

As mentioned the moon can stay Void of Course for as much as two days but this is quite rare.  During this period, regardless of how short or long it may be, Astrology tells us that we should not make any important decisions or start new projects.  It has been noted that beginning something of importance during these periods, often produces less than desirable results.  Often things do not go as planned, and as a result, they require adjustment once this lunar cycle has completed this period.  Our judgement is often not as sharp as usual and reconstruction is often a by-product of decisions made during this time period.

It is suggested that during these periods, we should spend time reflecting and regrouping through acts of deliberation or meditative practices.  Once the Moon has entered the next sign, plans and events seem to move along better and we avoids possible delays and frustrations that are often accompany times of Void Of Course Moon.

In Astrology, the aspects between the Moon and any other planetary forces speak to us concerning traits and life events.  When the Moon goes Void Of Course, it is as though there is no message being sent and life and our plans for life hesitate and loose communication to our cosmic guidance.  This is not to say that nothing happens, but it seems that making plans during this time is best to be avoided and should be pursued once the Moon moves into the next sign.

THE NEXT PHASE

As we age, it is inevitable, unfortunately, that our parents, other relatives and close friends often pass on to the next phase of existence before us.  This leaves us alone, bewildered and often in a state of instability, in some ways, for quite some time.  Some of us will outlive our spouses and even our children.  This can be extreme emotional experiences to say the least.  Some individuals find it almost impossible to carry on and become trapped in the past and the loss of their plans with those that have passed on. 

Life is for the living (with the occasional visit and regular guidance from the other side).  Our loved ones would never want us to miss the experience of living.  That is a very extreme price to pay. 

They say that fear leads to a life half lived.  Living in the past due to loss leads to a life not lived at all.

It is certainly a natural process to grieve and each and every stage must be experienced.  Visit the grief and experience it but this does not mean that we have to move in for the rest of our lives.  If we ignore or try to pass by one of the steps of grieving, often times we meet up with this stage again later in our lives.  Experience the denial; point your fingers to blame; experience the anger; experience the loss.  If we do not go through the stages, we can keep reliving the loss each time there is another loss in life completely unrelated.  The relapse can be just as painful as the original experience itself. 

We should not run from our feels.  Allow the process of grieving to take place.  Yes it can be overwhelming but there is no real escape from reality and what has taken place.

Mourn the loss of your loved ones but do not forget to also celebrate the life that you were so blessed to share with them.  “Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”~Alfred Lord Tennyson 

They say that losing a loved one is easier for those that believe in life after death.  I suppose we are the fortunate ones for we will receive glimpses of their eternal existence.  Living within a focus on this belief structure can certainly helps to sooth the pain although for most of us there is no escaping the sadness and grief initially.

There are far too many similar stories and experienced for me to ever doubt an existence after we pass on.  We will leave it to each of you to find your own answers, but always stay open to all possibilities.  If we close the door, nothing can be revealed.  (Don’t let fear dictate!)
