AGES 54-59 IN ASTROLOGY

If you are between the ages of 54-59, this post pertains to you. Maturity is in full bloom and you are beginning to see yourself as an integrated whole and no longer just an extension of others. You are becoming clear of who you are as an individual and are comfortable enough that what others think is not important anymore. You are who you are and that’s just fine.

 

This is a stage when you are more concerned about life itself than living up to other people’s expectations and you are forming relationships to make you whole. You have come to a point where you basically know yourself and are liberated with this knowledge. Relationships still have a place in your heart, some even deeper than anything experienced previously, but you can rid yourself of unwanted or draining relationships. This is not to say that you have become cold or uncaring. Quite the opposite. You are beginning to understand what it is that you need and will form more meaningful relationships to build on this.

 

This is about self-fulfillment and self-honesty and if you have been working well within these boundaries and living your life through generosity and love, you are well on your way to a more rewarding and satisfying life. You are approaching the second Saturn return and you probably remember your first around the age of 29, when you experienced life’s events to the fullest and matured immensely, coming through a period of transformation on many levels.

 

There are several astrological factors that are in effect during this time. You will be experiencing the second progressed lunar return, which in short speaks of emotionally coming of age. You will also be going through the Uranus trine Uranus transit, which is usually accompanied with excitement and the beginning of something new. Neptune is also in trine to its natal position, helping you gain a more realistic point of view on where your life is heading. For many Pluto is also making a trine to its natal position which could be termed a life transformation when we tap into our core. You are also going through the third nodal return which is directed towards a reorientation within and a clearer focus on life’s direction.

 

These astrological transformations taking place usually signify deep transformations on many different levels. Explaining these fluctuations is basically impossible in short form, but you now have an idea why life is going through changes on so many levels.

 

Enjoy the transformations taking place and prepare for the next major transition to unfold as you enter the last years of your fifties. Some now contemplate retirement while others begin anew. One thing is for certain this will be a fruitful time and everything begins to materialize and gather momentum towards this second Saturn return.

HEMISPHERE EVALUATION

 There are four hemispheres in a horoscope:

1. The Northern Hemisphere which is below the horizon or centred around the IC;

2. The Southern Hemisphere which is located above the horizon centred around the MC;

3. The Eastern Hemisphere which is centred around the Ascendant; and

4. The Western Hemisphere which is centred around the Descendant.

An emphasized Hemisphere would have most planets in that particular quadrant.

Some Astrologers suggest that planets in retrograde should be considered in the opposite quadrant. For example, if Saturn is in retrograde in the Northern Hemisphere, when calculating a Hemisphere emphasis, Saturn would be considered to be in the Southern Hemisphere. Of course, the planets do not actually change positions in the birth chart but when it comes to this evaluation, they are in the opposite Hemisphere.

These Hemisphere configurations would look similar to a fan pattern, with most of the emphasis in one quadrant.

As we delineate this Hemisphere calculation, it is important to remember that this only applies to planets. Asteroids and nodes are not included in the calculation.

With an emphasis around the Eastern Hemisphere or around the Ascendant, these individuals would be concerned with their own personal ventures. They are driven by internal needs and push ahead with their objectives. This is not to say that they are egotistical or self-centered but that they are focused on advancing those things that they deem personally significant. Personal advancement on some level is a priority.

Some Astrologers have noted that there seems to be much defensiveness with people who have this emphasis. This Hemisphere incorporates houses 1,2,11,12 and to a greater extent the whole eastern side. Free will and the ability to move towards their path or orientation are important. They take on some of the qualities of the first house.

Those individuals with an emphasis around the Northern Hemisphere or centered around the IC are said to be more private and introverted. The emphasis would be with houses 3 through 5 and to a greater extent all the houses below the horizon. These individuals are often focused on the needs of the family and the home environment, like a 4^th house emphasis.

Some Astrologers have noted that there are affairs or events that have been left unresolved related to early life conditions and there is a need for these to be dealt with.

The fourth/tenth house axis is related to the parents. Some say that the fourth house is related to the mother or the most nurturing parent and some say it relates to the father. This has been a controversial issue with many Astrologers. You will have to test it for yourself to see what fits and feels right for your practice or your chart. This area is related to private and individual areas of life and as such can be related to internal issues. These issues are usually kept private, or some individuals choose to not deal with them at all.

 Those with a vast number of planets on the Western side of the chart or around the Descendant, houses from 5-8, and to a greater extent the whole western side of the chart from the 5^th to the 9^th, tend to concentrate their energies on others. They are “other-people” motivated rather than being self-motivate. They are always considering the needs of others when it is time to take a step forward. Direction often comes through others. There is a great deal of giving but not very much taking. Some of these individuals can be taken advantage of from those with stronger personalities or those that tend to prey on others. Those with the Western focus are very giving but must watch for being taken advantage of. There are similar traits to those with the seventh house prominent in their charts.

With an emphasis on the Southern Hemisphere, (the houses above the horizon), houses 9 through 11, or to a greater extent the whole Southern Hemisphere from the 8^th to the 12^th, there is a tendency to be extraverted and these individuals are drawn to social environments. They are concerned with what is going on in the outside world and tend to gravitate towards social activities where they can mingle and be objective about what they discover in these areas of life. There is a link to the tenth house as events in life tend to affect these individuals and their path in life.

Some Astrologers have linked the Southern Hemisphere with being swept away by life’s conditions. It has even been suggested that these individuals could be victimized in some manner. This could also be potentially related to the parents because of the axis point. Again, some Astrologers differ on who the tenth house is representative of, the father or the most disciplinary or providing parent vs the mother.

This Astrologer feels that the fourth house, being ruled by the Moon and Cancer, would be representative of the mother or nurturing parent and the tenth house, being ruled by Saturn and Capricorn, would be representative of the father or disciplinary parent. I do note, however, that when it comes to a personal injury connected to the past (emphasis in the Northern Hemisphere) there would be a connection with the father. On a deeper level, you must question how the mother influenced life’s events and what was the reaction to her interjection? You be the judge.

JUDGEMENT

How many of us judge others and how they live?

 

Our view of others is tightly entwined with our personal view of self and more often than not mirrors our own self image.

 

Because of other’s personal view of themselves, we should not allow ourselves to be affected by others’ opinions and judgements. Someone else’s opinion says much about them and little about you. They recognize or exaggerate a specific quality in you and because of a lack of self-reflection, do not consciously see this within themselves.

 

We unfortunately can be blind to our own habits and reactions, and it can be helpful when others share their observations. We must keep our ego under control, however. Honest self reflection can point out “shortcomings” and with recognition comes solution. Another method to recognize characteristics within ourselves that we may be blind to is to pay attention to those things that bother us about others. This can be an excellent personal monitor to assist in self reflection.

 

What others think is their issue. Our own opinion of self is truly important. Because of this, make sure that you are seeing yourself clearly and not selling yourself short.

 

You do not have to please others, but you must be happy with who you are. Take an honest look. Do some self reflection. Sometimes acknowledgment can be challenging but necessary. Other times what we see can expand in a very positive sense.

 

It IS good to reflect and be sure to include all the great qualities as well. What we focus on expands. Where does your focus lie?

 

This also holds true for others. When we look for fault in others, fault is all that we will see. If we look for the greatness in others, then greatness will be seen.

 

Do not make a career out of judging others or yourself. You will never accomplish excellence. Self analysis and paying attention to our positive attributes, these we can excel at. Moving away from constant negative reflection which will allow contentment and happiness.

MARS MOVES INTO LIBRA

On September 14, 2021, Mars moves from Virgo a Mutable, Earth sign into Libra a Cardinal, Air sign. Mars moves through the sign Libra from the 14^th of September to the 30^th of October after which it moves into the Fixed, Water sign of Scorpio.  Mars will be in its direct motion until October 2022 when it moves into retrograde at 25 degrees in the sign of Gemini.

 

Mars when in its direct motion moves at about ¾ of a degree per day and its effect on natal planets stimulates activity with energy to move ahead. Mars along with the Sun is our driving force in life and is often used as a timer in Astrology. Mars is the need for action and our stimulating force to push ahead. How we decide to move ahead, with what energy we apply and to what areas of life we wish to pursue these advances depends on the sign and house Mars occupies in our natal chart.

 

When Mars moves into Libra this is a time of balancing our life’s pursuits. We will often try to reach a viable path ahead which offers harmony and peace as its objectives. In many cases others will be involved in the equation and quite often the relationships involved can be with our partners. Although Mars wants to push forward, we will bend and assist in as many ways as possible.

 

This can be known as an advancing time in our lives when we push hard ahead to achieve what we set out to do. Fairness and justice will also be important factors in a determined effort. We can be focused and true to our objectives and we are the motivating factor behind our success or limited advance. Although others are involved, we are the push behind any gain. The amount of energy we put into what we set out to do will be the determining factor in how we advance.

 

If this is about business partnership, then we may be the defining influence which pushes this ahead. We may want to take a leading role in what takes place and how we move ahead. We may rely on some input, but we will likely be the one who orchestrates the movement ahead. We will however likely take into consideration how the other persons’ feel about our plans and objectives.

CIRCLE OF INFLUENCE

Were you told to pick your friends wisely as you become what you friends are?

 

Those that we surround ourselves with will certainly have an impact on us. Not only do others affect us on a mental level, but they can also have a bearing on our overall health. This is not to say that the person whom you invite over for coffee and a simple chat will greatly influence your physical conditioning, but they will influence you for that moment in time. It will, of course, be in your hands just how much of an impact you allow them to have on you.

 

Others may have important information that resonated with you on a deep level and you may choose to utilize the information offered. You will hold some of the dialogue in your conscious mind and you will also retain some of this information on a subconscious level. How much of that information, however, is unconsciously retained?

 

There are individuals that we spend many hours with throughout a week. Their input is quite significant to our evolving story. Is their influence positive in nature?

 

Family members are not always our best friends and we may allow them to produce much strife in our lives. Do we wish them a loving farewell or are they part of our lesson to learn to overcome outside influences?

 

Toxic relationships can have an impact on our overall health. No relationship should be allowed to rob us of our health or happiness. If you find that your relationships need altering, have a look at what you can do to facilitate change on some level. Remember, however, you cannot change someone else. If change is to be made, it is up to you to make the adjustment. If you have done all you can and the relationship is not improving, you cannot force change on someone else. If they are not willing to do the work, you have a decision to make.

 

On the other side of the coin, there are those relationships that simply feel good. You feel wonderful sharing time and energy with these individuals. Hold these relationships close and enjoy the experience. They may be a passing encounter or a lifelong blessing. No matter their length, they are precious.

 

Each of our various relationships throughout life will offer many things and on many levels. Do not take these relationships for granted, regardless of the challenging conditions that occur from time to time. They are special and we are fortunate to experience them. Some will be with us for a lifetime while others will share a moment with us.

NEW MOON SEPTEMBER 6, 2021

Today, September 6, 2021, at 8:51 p.m., we will be experiencing a New Moon at 14 degrees and 37 minutes Virgo. This new Moon signifies a beginning or start of a new phase, and it is in trine to transiting Uranus at 14 degrees Taurus. This is a tight aspect and will add the new and unexpected to what this New Moon is indicating in your chart.

 

It will be impacting those who have planets close to 14 degrees and especially those planets that are in conjunction, opposition or square and to a lesser degree those that are in trine and sextile.  You can allow a three-degree orb of influence, so this will apply to planets or angles that are between 11 to 17 degrees. The tighter the orb the stronger the influence.

 

The house where this conjunction of the Moon and Sun is located will be a prime indicator of the area of life that will be involved. You will also have to take into consideration the planets that are within orb and the houses they are in to get the full picture. The natal profile (natal chart configuration) always must be delineated before drawing any conclusions.

 

Virgo is a mutable, earth sign and is very calculating and precise, wanting to create perfection on some level but seeing all the little flaws in the process. Creating order out of disorder and filing away important matters in their proper placements is what Virgo is well equipped to do. Virgo deciphers all the details and moves ahead carefully plodding each step they take. Nothing goes by without careful delineation.

 

With Uranus being tightly configurated with this New Moon’s position you can expect the unexpected and there is a strong likelihood of moving in a new direction. Sometimes things happen very quickly and suddenly allowing for little time to prepare. However, Uranus is known as the awakener and always puts us in a forward direction which we need to move towards.

 

If the aspects are unfavorable through the birth chart configurations, then this change might upset things and what was considered normal may suddenly be switched around.  Uranus always moves us in the direction we are meant to go, however. Change on some level is most likely indicated and accepting what takes place is often the best route to follow.

TRANSITING SATURN CONJUNCT VENUS

Saturn will often cause you to go within to evaluate personal relationships and your life on a material basis when it is conjunct Venus. It is a time when you will have a close look at any existing relationships that are lacking in substance. These types of relationships will either go through a period of analysis or you may walk away from the individual involved. It could be considered a time of testing our relationships and examining them in detail when Saturn conjuncts Venus. Those connections that make it through this scrutiny will be solid and reliable, and you would be wise to recognize this.

 

You may find that you must tighten your spending or at the very least, take a good look at a budget. It is wise not to go any further in debt until this transit has passed, at the very least. If you have been going through a period of budgeting and have taken a conservative approach, this could be a good time to finalize the plan and to structure your life so that you are well prepared for the future. Setting up a retirement plan and setting aside a certain amount of money weekly or monthly would be a good way to prepare for the future according to this aspect. Saturn is always looking at the long haul and if you currently follow Saturn’s advice and do not accompany the goals with worry, you could set yourself up for a comfortable future.

 

It can also be a time of self-study. Have an honest look at how your relationships may need some adjustments. This is a good time to reflect on how you interact with others and either loosen up or become more structured in how you deal with others. Perhaps you are too stingy when it comes to spending your money on friends and you should become more giving. On the other hand perhaps, you have been frivolous and now you should choose those that you deem worthy of your generosity.

 

Saturn and Venus under many conditions are not very well suited for one another, but a lot can be learned during this time. Spend time on your own. Take the time to think and reflect but do not stay this way for extended periods of time. Take note of the changes you might make to make things run smoother. Never let pessimism rule. Stay optimistic and make changes where and how you see fit.

 

When Saturn is in retrograde its energies are much gentler and often produce fewer challenging conditions than when it is direct. Saturn retrograde can produce viable results and offers less resistance than when it is moving direct. Saturn is the only planet while in retrograde that actually works well. Some even relate Saturn’s retrograde energies like Jupiter. It does not have the expansive qualities or the general opportunities, but it does provide some potential for rewarding experiences. Much will depend on the natal potential related to the aspects to Saturn from other planets and angles in the birth chart.

 

When in retrograde and connected to Venus this may signify that the relationship is reaching a more solid foundation and perhaps it moves to the next step. If this period has to do with finances perhaps having prepared for this time you are now able to buy important things such as invest in your pension or make a purchase of land or invest in a company. It will however be important to review all the other aspects currently active in your chart before you dive in.
