If you have the Sun conjunct the Moon in
your natal charts, you are designated as a New Moon Child. This conjunction makes you self-contained,
self-absorbed and self-tolerant. You
rely on your own senses and you believe that you do not really need anyone else
to make you whole, unless you have Libra as your Sun sign or have powerful
Libra tendencies (Libra people believe that they need someone to feel complete). With sun conjunct the Natal Moon, you also
have great inner strength that will carry you a long way.
There is very little that gets in your way
and you have little conflict between your conscious decisions and the emotional
response to these decisions. The
emotions and mind generally work alongside one another with this
conjunction. You will, however, have to check
to see if there are challenging natal conditions linked to this conjunction
especially from Mercury, although this is likely to be of minor significance. If Saturn or Neptune makes aspects, there
could be difficulties if either of these two planets are linked by square or
opposition.
In general, if there are not too many
challenging links to this conjunction you are comfortable with your feelings
and very in touch with them. The way you
manage your own psychological and emotional response to the world might however
be quite different when it comes to your intuition about others. You may have a difficult time understanding
why other people seem to get lost in their feelings and are unable to clearly
define emotional experience in their lives.
It might be pretty cut and dry in your mind but this is not always the
case with others.
There is also a tendency for Sun conjunct
Moon individuals to focus their lives exclusively around the home and family as
well as the areas of life linked to the house position of these planets. In many cases their early lives have not been
touched in a negative way either by their parents or in other connections made
in their lives. The parents seemed to
understand one another and had molded together as a unit each doing their part
with very little objections from their counterpart.
One Astrologer in particular (Dane Rudhyar)
suggests that people who have this conjunction but were born slightly before
the New Moon are cognisant of their personal calling and may sacrifice
themselves and link up with a purpose which they believe is larger than
anything they might consider personally relevant in their lives. They are capable of devoting their lives to
this cause and put their own concerns second to this.
It would be greatly appreciated if anyone
who has this conjunction in their chart (which Rudhyar terms the “Balsamic
Type”) to provide us with some input as to how this works in their life. I personally invite anyone to add a comment
or two of their personal life’s experience and let us know how they feel about
this statement.
