It is seldom that we discuss topics such as
politics, and this post in not intended to discuss what is transpiring in the
USA currently. We thought, however, that
we might touch on how political leaders might affect us.
We are in search of peace and tranquility
in a world that can seem anything but peaceful and tranquil. Do you believe that the leaders of all
nations have an obligation to restore peace in the world at large which obviously
would influence our own personal space?
In our opinion, political leaders should represent
honour. They should be honest in their
expression, show integrity in their actions and truth in their conviction.
How many leaders in the world today represent
such valued traits? What will the
general public learn from their communications and their interactions with
others? What is it that makes you want
to back one particular leader in your local politics? How will they best serve the needs of their
country and this world as a whole?
Unfortunately, many leaders and potential
leaders seem to exhibit less than admiral qualities and intentions, yet they request
your trust in their abilities. How does
anyone make decisions based on misrepresentations and platforms of not “What
can I do for you?” but what someone else cannot do for you?
In politics, power and corruption often
seems to prevail over common sense and compassion.
With these less than ideal conditions, at the
very least we have our intuition and intellect to guide us. We can stand by our truths and those things
that are important and a priority in our own personal lives. Martin Luther King, Jr. said this perfectly, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only
light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
Hold onto what you believe in. Be the example you want to see in the
world. Raise your voice and speaking your
truth. Do your part no matter how small this
may seem in your eyes.
