TIMING OUTER TRANSITS

Today we are going to take a look at the timing of the outer transits to natal placements in the horoscope. 

 

Uranus, Neptune and Pluto move through the heavens very slowly.  Pluto and Neptune only move 1-3 degrees per year.  The normal influence of transits of the outer planets to natal placements (The angles) and Planets is approximately 3-5 degrees approaching and then 2 degrees separating. 

 

The influence of these planets is often subtle as they approach and then intensify as they move closer to being direct.  When they are within 1 degree to direct aspect to any natal placements in our charts, their influence intensifies and becomes quite apparent.  When they are within tight orb, (1 degree or less) look to transiting Mars, the progressed Moon and even the transiting Sun to stir up activity in the areas of life (houses) that are being activated.  Transiting Uranus when exact, often creates some action in the area of life that is being affected, even by itself.

 

These mitigating factors (Mars, Sun and progressed Moon) will make an aspect to the natal planet being affected by the transiting outer planet and activate or cause something to occur.  This will tighten the timing factor significantly and is used in conjunction with the solar chart for the year in question to ascertain a common denominator for what might potentially be in play. 

 

You must also take into consideration what other natal planets are connected to the natal planet being transited by these outer planets.  If there are other factors in the natal chart, say for example that transiting Pluto is conjunct your natal Venus and Venus natally is aspected by Mars and Saturn, the transit of Pluto will also affect these planets.  The influence of Pluto will not be over until it is out of orb with Mars and Saturn as well in this example.

 

Taking these things into consideration will assist in locating a time when action or internal adjustment might take place.  If you use this method it narrows down the time frame even though the effects of the outer planetary influence is in force for the whole period of time, you will have a much better idea of when things might take place or when the energies are increased.

SUN IN SAGITTARIUS – NOVEMBER, 2020

The Sun moves from the intense and investigative sign of Scorpio, to the optimistic and exploratory sign of Sagittarius on November 21, 2020. 

 

Sagittarius is in a warm, friendly, relatively easy-going fire sign known for its exuberance and love for nature.  Sagittarius always believes something good is around the very next corner.  This is a wonderful perspective for all of us to have.  Instead of a fatalistic approach, Sagittarians have a profound openness for overcoming adversity and learning from the whole experience.

 

Sagittarius loves the great outdoors and is drawn to nature and wide-open spaces.  They love travel and exploring even if this is only accomplished through the mind.  They are on a quest to learn by experiencing life and have great enthusiasm.  One challenge faced by most Sagittarius individuals is their “foot in mouth” disease or speaking without enough forethought. 

 

Their ruling planet is Jupiter and Jupiter promotes growth through exploration and expansion and through learned material and experience.  Jupiter fosters good luck, opportunities, a positive approach, and a willingness to learn from everything regardless of classification.

 

Those with their Sun in Sagittarius will have transiting Saturn and transiting Jupiter in the early degrees (0-8 degrees) making a sextile to their Sun in the mid to later part of December, 2020 up to early to mid January, 2021.  The sextile is an opportunity aspect but, in many cases, you will have to do something about that potential for it to manifest into something worthwhile.  In some cases, these fortunate conditions just fall into your lap, but with most cases, the energy we use to facilitate growth is in direct correlation to the results experienced.  Check which houses are part of this opportunity in your personal chart Sagittarius as this will be the areas of life involved.

 

Transiting Neptune will also be making a sextile to those with their Sun in the mid to late degrees of Sagittarius.  At this time (November 2020) transiting Neptune is at 18 degrees Pisces in direct motion until June of 2021 (23 degrees Pisces).  We can normally feel the energies of a transiting planet up to and including 5 degrees approaching and 2 degrees while separating. 

 

Neptune in positive aspect promotes feelings of spirituality and sensitivity.  For those inclined to mysticism and the psychic realm, they may find an opening of sorts with opportunities to explore and go more in depth in these areas.  Neptune in positive aspect to the Sun can open these doors if there is an interest and perhaps meditation would be an outlet to explore to go a little deeper.

A VOTE OF CONSCIENCE

In our ever changing environment, we have to adapt to life circumstances and live to our full potential.  Above all else, we should follow our conscience.  We have to be open to expand our conscience and adapt our attitude to one that not only preserves our compassion and love for self but also embraces those around us.

 

There are many individuals whose roles affect the multitudes.  Their actions not only affect them on a personal level but affects their communities, their countries and the world on a whole in varying degrees.

VENUS VERY ACTIVE NOVEMBER/DECEMBER

Transiting Venus is very active making challenging aspects in November to Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus.  Then through December, Venus is makes much more favorable aspects to Neptune, Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn.   

 

The energies are in place up to two days prior to the actual direct contact to about 1 to 2 days after being direct.  You will have to check to see if you have planets in the natal chart that tie in with these energies.  The dates are as follows November 15 a square with Pluto, November 16 a square with Jupiter, November 19 a square with Saturn and on November 27 an opposition with Uranus. 

 

In December Venus trines Neptune on the 5^th, sextiles Pluto on the 10^th, sextiles Jupiter on the 15^th and the final aspect to Jupiter ties in with the eclipse we will be experiencing which we will cover in a later post.

 

Squares suggest difficulties and stumbling blocks to overcome, as well as delays, restrictions, and testing times.  Oppositions always involve others and are also difficult, while trines and sextiles are opportunity aspects.  The trine indicating easy flow and positive energies and the sextile speaks of opportunities that come your way.  We can either push ahead with these opportunities or in some cases sit back while the energies release themselves into positive prospects.

 

Venus will amalgamate with the energies of the planets involved and, in many cases, speaks of love and affection, the potential for socialization, although not recommended due to circumstances surrounding the epidemic.  Money and the finances along with articles of beauty are all associated with Venus.  Much will depend on the planets involved and the houses which are being activated at that time. 

 

An example with the square to Saturn might be potential shortages or bills coming in.  You might have known about them prior to this time and preparing would be the best suggestion.  The Opposition to Uranus might suggest that you can expect the unexpected occurring perhaps in finances or a relationship that comes out of the blue with little early detection.  The relationship may be exciting and unique and offer a new way forward.  In many cases, this relationship, if there is one that is, would likely be the result of someone else’s action, not necessarily your doing.  Outside influences are often part of the equation with oppositions and with Uranus you may not be too sure about where this relationship is heading.  Long term is not always part of the picture.

 

The trines are positive and an example with Neptune might indicate, if this is a love connection, a magical intertwinement, which could feel almost mystical in nature.  It could indicate a kind of illusive nature to the relationship. 

 

Sticking with the same scenario, the sextile to Jupiter could indicate good fortune in this relationship; perhaps the other person is well off financially and helps you in these regards, or they may be highly influential in helping you along life’s journey.

BELIEFS AND THEIR CREATIONS

We create our own experiences.   When we are aware of this, we can begin to create an enjoyable life.  Our focus and attitude create stress and resistance or acceptance and peace.

 

We influence our own existence, and we influence those around us by the energy we project.

 

We are constantly building our life.  Our future will reflect what we put into motion today.  Tomorrow is a formulation of what we believe is possible and where we place your energies.

 

It stems from deep within and is reflective of the concepts we hold true and the potentials we believe are possible.  We strive to recognize and release thoughts that we deem irrational or unworthy of our focus.  Over time the beliefs we hold true manifest.  The subject of our beliefs does not matter.  It is our commitment to them that does.

 

Our thoughts and expectations manifest.  They may not be exactly as we envisioned but certainly reflective of the concepts.   It begins from within and then materializes out into our external world.

 

If we are not happy with what our world appears to be, notice where your attention is placed. 

 

We build on thoughts and this becomes our focus. 

 

If we want more of something, focus on what we already have of that; not on what is lacking.  See the bounty already present.  Acknowledge the abundance that already is.  If we are not thankful for what we have, we will not be thankful with more.  We will only want more.  Wanting is perpetuated. 

 

Do not fixate on what is believed to be a problem, that simply expands the belief.  What we focus on expands. 

 

Our focus is just like a muscle.  The more we remind ourselves to focus on such as appreciation, the more we appreciate and it becomes easier and easier to see all that should be appreciated. 

 

It has been said that our lives are in our own hands.  It certainly is.  We cannot control what others do but we have full control over our response to life.  Eliminate reaction and be mindful. 

 

We build our life gradually over time.  Place thoughts and expectations where they can do the best work.

THE ELEMENTS IN ASTROLOGY

Regardless of how long you have been a student of Astrology, the basics always need to be forefront and continually refreshed. 

 

Most of us understand our birth signs but did you know that each sign has an element? 

 

There are four elements in Astrology - Air, Fire, Water and Earth. 

 

The signs governed by the element Air are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. 

 

The signs governed by Fire are Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. 

 

The signs governed by Water are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces and the signs governed by Earth are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.

 

In a birth or natal chart, all the planets are influenced and placed in the astrological signs, just like the Sun.  For an example, Pluto is at 23 degrees in the sign of Capricorn (November 2020).  If you were born in the eighties, for example, your Pluto was in Libra or Scorpio, depending on what year you were born. 

 

As mentioned the signs are all influenced by one of the four elements, so if you were born with Pluto in Libra your Pluto is under the influence of Air.  If your Pluto is in Scorpio, it is under the influence of Water.  These elements are very significant in Astrology and particularly influential with the inner planets in your natal chart. (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars)

 

If your birth chart has a strong influence of Air, you will live primarily in your mind and seek information and knowledge with a great desire to share this with others.  If you have a strong emphasis with the element Fire, you may consider yourself or others would consider you dominating, always on the go and usually motivated to invest everything you have into your endeavours.  If you have a lot of Water in your birth chart, you can easily lose yourself through your intense emotional makeup.  You are in tuned to the emotions.  If you have a strong emphasis on Earth in your natal chart, you would consider yourself security minded and are tuned into your immediate environment and would be considered down to earth and practical.

 

In an Astrology chart, you can also have what is considered a weak element.  This is when a particular element is lacking in your chart.  We will not go into any description of lacking an element as we are striving to keep our posts a “quick read”.

NEW MOON IN SCORPIO NOVEMBER 15, 2020

We will be experiencing the energies of a New Moon in Scorpio at 23 degrees on November 15, 2020 at 12:07 a.m. 

 

A New Moon speak of new beginnings and is a great time to start a new process.  Perhaps you have been making plans for some time now and are not sure when you should begin to push ahead.  This event, in most cases, would be that time.  The more this positioning corresponds to placements in your natal chart, the more relevant it will be for you.

 

Since this New Moon is in the sign of Scorpio, it will take on Scorpio energies.  Scorpio has to do with investigation, intrigue and delving beneath the surface of matters.  Finding the truth and uncovering any of life’s mysteries would correlate with Scorpio energies.  It is linked to the psychic realms of life and is often connected to taboo subjects that are not always discussed openly.  There is something secretive about what takes place, and it may be hidden to others. 

 

Research and transformation are associated with Scorpio.  This speaks of new conditions taking hold in life due to the dismissal of something that is no longer relevant.  There is often an ending of sorts before this new beginning can start.

 

The New Moon occurs when we have the Sun and Moon in conjunction with one another, so the house position at 23 degrees Scorpio will be the area of life involved.  If, for example, this New Moon makes a conjunction, the most powerful aspect, it brings an emphasis and combines the energies to whatever planet or angle that the New Moon will make the conjunction to. 

 

An example might be the natal Sun and this would be considered one of the most powerful connections that this placement would make, depending on the other planets that the Sun makes aspects to in your natal chart.  The Sun has to do with goals in life, life’s direction and who we are deep down inside.  Who we are deep down inside closely mimics Scorpio’s intensive search for truth and deep connections.  With this placement, we may decide to make changes to our path in life and changes to the way we see ourselves.  Deep inner reflection will be part of the process and our goals and objectives might reflect this.  We could go through major transformations over the next several months and finally reach our culmination point in about 6 months’ time.  The effort we put into whatever we wish to achieve during this time will be revealed in approximately 6 months when the Full Moon will be in Scorpio.  We will reap the rewards according to the energies we have put forth.

 

Another example might be this New Moon attached to the natal Moon and do not forget that any planet or angle has to be within a three-degree orb.  So, if we are experiencing an opposition to this placement to the Moon for example, your Moon would need to be between 20-26 degrees in the sign of Taurus. 

 

The Moon is reflective of our emotions and is connected to activity around the home and family, often suggesting change on some level.  So our emotions will be stimulated by this New Moon and they will likely be more intense than normal and although we may feel the need to keep things internalized, it would be advised to speak your mind and to express your emotions to those you trust under this influence. 

 

Much can be achieved, and security and stability from an emotional perspective has potential to be elevated to new levels.  With the opposition example perhaps someone instigates things and causes you to look within and make changes, after your own personal review.  In this case you would look at the Moon’s position in the natal chart as well as the New Moon’s position and other aspects to the natal Moon as this will all need to be considered before reaching a conclusion on what your chart is speaking of.
