SUN IN SAGITTARIUS, NOVEMBER 23/2017

Most individuals born under the Sun sign of Sagittarius are considered to be straightforward and outspoken.  They love to be part of the discussion but can also make good listeners.  Many of these individuals are actually listening to what you have to say and are not just planning their next statement in the conversation.  They will hear you out and then make their contribution.

They can be somewhat abrupt in their communication techniques and sometimes are known to have “foot-in-mouth disease”, but their intent is not to hurt anyone.  They simply say what they think, often without forethought but with reflection later.  They are kind hearted and adhere to the higher principles of love and peace, and their approach to this is on a universal level.  There is nothing half-way about the typical Sagittarian.

Their ruling planet is Jupiter and Jupiter’s energies will often bring them fortune in life, not necessarily in financial terms, but most certainly through life’s experience.  Although their life’s experience is not always a pleasant, they truly believe that better things are always around the very next corner.  They carry this life philosophy with them always.  This gives them a reputation of always being optimistic even under very challenging conditions.  They follow their heart, allow optimism to be their guiding force and are forever pushing this positivity into the world around them.

Jupiter, the planet of expansion and spiritual growth, does offer up some amount of luck for these people.  Please keep in mind as you are reading this that we are just speaking in terms of the sign Sagittarius.  A description of the Sun Sign does not take into consideration the aspects that the Sun is receiving from others planetary placements in the natal chart or through transit and progression, along with many other variables that may be found in an Astrology chart.  Jupiter, as mentioned, offers growth and usually this comes to the surface through a learned experience.  Many Sag individuals will take to travel and learn a great deal from these experiences, making friends along the way that can have a great impact in their lives.

In general, Sagittarius individuals are honest in their expression although they can’t always be relied on.  They can get caught up in the moment and forget or let things slide simply because everything seems to moving along so smoothly. 

Sagittarians are almost always joyful and happy and as mentioned optimistic in their approach to life.  They love to have fun and really enjoy the great outdoors.  They are travelers but not just in physical terms.  They are also travellers of the mind.  They love to gain information from their religious (and this does not have to be traditional) inclinations, and life’s philosophies are something that is learned through experience.  You can tell them something but they actually need personal experience to accept it as fact.

They are known to be somewhat reckless in their behaviour because of a fast moving approach to life and will make mistakes along the way.  At the same time, they will pick up the pieces and begin again if need be.  It takes a lot to bring them down. 

 Jupiter, being their ruling planet, tends to expand on things.  Expansion is great unless you are continually living an extravagant life style.  Their optimistic attitude needs to be calmed down a little when it comes to spending, although it always comes from a place of sharing.

A TIME FOR NEW BEGINNINGS

Do not weigh yourself down with a belief structure that focuses on “all things come to an end” or “there is no hope for a promising future”.  Our beliefs tie us to whatever that focus is.  Our beliefs can hold us back or they can propel us forward.  It simply depends on where we have decided to place our beliefs. 

Which focus do you prefer?  Which train of thought will you follow? 

You are only at the mercy of your beliefs.

When something comes to an end in our lives, the door opens for something new to enter.  We all need time to process change but some of us get caught up in the endings and fail to see the beginnings that are available. 

Sometimes the door opens on its own, and other times we have to make the effort to turn the handle to open the door.  To sit and wait is not suggested.  Do not squander any opportunity.  They may only come knocking once.  In most cases, we have to propel ourselves forward.  We cannot move forward when we are hanging on to yesterday.  Picture yourself climbing a ladder.  How can you rise to the next rung if you do not let go of the one you are currently holding on to?   If the current “rung” no longer serves a viable purpose in your ladder of life, you must let go to ascend. 

It serves no purpose to stand unproductively on your ladder just as it is unproductive to wallow in the past or to sit on the sideline and do nothing.  Leave that door open.  See what is being offered and when the energies feel right step through the door.  There is nothing to fear but fear itself.  You CAN do it!

New beginnings are seeds that are germinating.  It you do not nurture them, they will wither and pass.  Every day is a germinating seed with unlimited potential.  Nurture the possibilities.  Fertilize your focus and belief structures with positive nutrients.  The rewards are boundless.

TRANSITING PLUTO CONJUNCT MERCURY

Mercury’ energies deal with our thinking process.  By sign, it defines different manners of communication and how our intellect operates.  Mercury has to do with the way we define our intensions and how we stand as individuals with our own objectives and reasoning abilities. 

This is the only planet that actually needs something to stimulate it, as on its own it is neutral in its function.  Transits, therefore, play a significant role in how we express ourselves.  All natal planets and angles to our natal Mercury take on a role in helping define Mercury’s energies for us, but its sign placement and house position play a big part in how the mind operates.

Pluto is the planet of transformation, regeneration and the uncovering of life’s secrets which were learned through self-understanding and a willingness to go below the surface of matters.  When transiting Pluto aspects our Mercury, it opens doors to learning experiences.  By the time Pluto has passed beyond its orb of influence on Mercury in your chart, you will have questioned your thoughts and philosophies and probably made major changes along the way.

Pluto’s influence in the natal chart is never a passive one.  Its demands for truth often brings out and challenges conditions and power struggles that need to be faced.  You cannot ignore Pluto and during this time, your will is tested, your judgement intensifies and you are able to examine anything with great insight.  What you dig up may not always be pleasant but what you find will be truth and these truths have to be dealt with. 

Do not ignore what Pluto is trying to convey to you.  It is important and changes may be necessary in order for you to rise above details and position yourself so that once this transit is over, you have made the necessary changes preparing you for what is yet to come.  It is often a transit of magnificent changes and transformational experiences, although possibly challenging in nature.

When working with the energies of Pluto, this transit can be used to your benefit as you dig ever deeper into the meaning of life.  It will reveal what needs to surface and offer you opportunities to move above challenging conditions, leave a stagnated situation and in doing so you will have made your mark. 

This is a great aspect for self-study and any kind of research can have profound effects.  Meditation would be very beneficial and will often open doors that were previously closed.  This is a time of honest reflection as well as a time to realistically view life’s conditions.  Once you have had the opportunity to reflect, you can make constructive changes that will further growth in the right direction.

NEW MOON IN SCORPIO - NOVEMBER 18, 2017

We will be experiencing a New Moon in Scorpio on November 18, 2017. 

Some Astrologers have branded the energies of this New Moon to be quite difficult.  I suppose that the current square between Mars and Pluto, at least in part, is the reason they feel this way.  Mars and Pluto do not sit well with one another and often create aggressive, even violent, actions to rise to the surface.  So this is the backdrop for this Scorpio New Moon.

New Moon energies, as well as Full Moon energies, after studies, have been associated with a rise in criminal activities and acts of violence.  As a result of these finding and the aspect between Pluto and Mar, make sure that you are in a place of safety and that you do not put yourself in harm’s way during this influence.  Accident occurrences also rise during these lunar phases, so operating a vehicle with a little more care is advised. 

In general, however, do not allow yourself to be stressed or anxious because of some of these indicators.  If you are thoughtful and do not put yourself at risk, the odds are life will move forward favourably.  I just thought we should give a bit of a heads up in case you  are prone to rushing. 

New Moons always speak of new beginnings and the opportunities to get something off the ground and into action.  When the Moon is in the sign of Scorpio (at 26 degrees by the way), you have the potential to delve deep into mysticism, psychic phenomena and the deeper facets of your own life.  This is a time of self-evaluation and a time of uncovering anything that needs to surface and be dealt with appropriately.  Using the energies of this New Moon to begin anew or at least approach life with an understanding that we are the creators of our journey and this gives us power and insight into what lies ahead.

Scorpio provides opportunity for in-depth analogy, insightful understanding and the inner fortitude to move through any obstructions that may have held you back prior to these energies.  You will have to take an honest approach however.  You cannot fool yourself. 

Take control of what you need to do in order to build from this day forward, something that will develop over time.  Pluto rules Scorpio and sometimes there are power struggles associated with Pluto especially when Mars is involved as it is now.  You may have to push your way through anything that stands in the way of growth and progress.  You have the strength to overcome obstacles, the drive to accomplish what you set out to do and the perseverance to see it through.

Take into consideration that this New Moon suggests opportunities to advance even through struggle.  Remember, you have to have planetary placements close to this degree (26 degrees) for there to be any type of impact in your life.  The more planetary placements in your birth chart to this degree (allow a 3 degree orb), the stronger the energies of this New Moon and its influence in your life. 

Have a look at the house this New Moon is in, as this will be the area of life being affected.  Also look at the houses the natal planets are in to get a fuller understanding of what areas of life will play a part in what takes place.

TRANSFORMING

Changes are coming.  You feel it.  You know it.  It is not by chance either. 

Change would not present itself until you are ready to take that step.  You are moving from obscurity to a viable bright path.  This is not only your realization but also the realization of others. 

Sometimes you are so closed to the change that you do not recognize it at first but when the metamorphosis is complete, you may not longer recognize the new you emerging.  You have come far enough into this change that you recognize its expansion into your consciousness andyour surroundings.

Others notice the distinct change, as even your appearance seems to be changing. 

Change stems from the inside and then aligns with the outer world.  There is no rushing it as your higher evolution has its own time sequence.  This happens only when the time is right.  You can prepare all you want, but you will never be totally ready for what transpires.  It is never what you think, as the physical mind tends to interfere with the process.

SATURN RETURN IN ASTROLOGY

We thought we would share some information on the Saturn Return which normally takes place at approximately 29, 58 and 84. 

As many of you are aware, the natal or birth chart is a snapshot of the heavens at the moment of birth.  From that moment on, the planets continue on their rotational path and these are referred to as transiting planets.  All of the planets eventually return to their location  at the moment of our birth (natal chart placement) but the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) take a long time to complete this cycle.  Saturn takes between 27-29 years to complete one full cycle.  Uranus takes 84 years and the other two outer planets (I am referred to Pluto as a planet) take much longer and we do not live long enough to experience their return.

Saturn has a profound impact in our lives.  It produces situations that can be stressful (if we so allow) and presents us with lessons whenever it (Saturn) becomes activated in our charts.  Saturn is the teacher and it presents us with a crossroad in our development.  We are forces to take a good look at our lives and we should make any needed changes.  These times can be very trying and can last a significant period of time, especially if there are other planetary forces at work during the same period.

We have touched on houses and their energies in previous posts.  Depending on which house Saturn is located in your birth chart and what aspects it is making to other planets, these particular areas of life (houses) will become activated.  The intensity and duration depends largely on the other planets that are stimulating the area, how long they transit and what aspects (aspects are angles between planets) they make to each other.
