NEW MOON & ITS LINK TO THE FULL MOON

The New Moon period is considered to be a time of making new things happen or setting things into motion – planting the seeds of our intentions.  We can set new goals for ourselves and when the Full Moon moves into the same sign or house position that the New Moon was in when we planets our seeds, we will find that our intentions may be ready for harvest.  The Full Moon cycle is often linked to the feelings of reaching an end of a condition.  This is when ideas come together and we have the ability to visualize the whole picture and often will instinctively know what the next steps should be to reach that goal.

During the New Moon phase, we could set plans which would outlining what our intentions are and what we might do to reach these goals.  As times goes by, watch how some of these goals begin to manifest, some without any effort on our part.  Simply by setting the intention, we set the stage and the energies that be create the necessary steps.  Life is always filled with opportunities if we care to actually see them.  With the intention set, we enter into the Full Moon cycle particularly if there is a link to the sign and house position of the original New Moon phase, and we will discover that either these intentions can materialize or they can be deepened.

If we set our goals on the areas of life affected or determined by the house and sign positon, the potential for success is greater than if we set our goals to areas of life that are not linked to house and sign position.

For example, if the New Moon is in Taurus and in the fourth house, we might think about adding furniture or beautifying our homes and doing work on the house as Taurus often speaks about material comforts and the fourth house has to do with the home environment.

If using the same sign and house placement and we decide we want to try to begin a new relationship, the end results may not be what we are looking for or may take much more work to see our goal to fruition.  Setting goals for a new relationship would work much easier if we waited until the New Moon sign placement were in Libra and/or the house placement were in the fifth house.  Libra is all about partnerships and important relationships among other things.  The fifth house deals with romantic involvement, among other things.

If by chance the New Moon Cycle begins under a void-off-course Moon, (the moon making no aspects when leaving one sign and entering the next sign) many Astrologers advice not to make any plans at all.  (For example the Moon could be in Aries.  At 27 degrees 15 minutes, the Moon could squares Mars and it will not make any further aspects to any other planets until it is at Taurus at 1 degree and 23 minutes.  This period is known as Void-Off-Course).  This could last from a few hours or it could last several days.  It should be noted that plans more often than not do not materialize during a planets void-off-course period.  Other times during this period, things do not go as planned.  It would be better to wait until a time when there is no Void-Off-Course event taking place.

It is not suggested by this Astrologer that you always wait for an appropriate New Moon to set intentions or for making plans or decisions in life.  There is a better chance to make things work if following these guidelines; however, there may be other mitigating conditions within the chart making this difficult or challenging in turn delaying things or challenging your ideas.  Always look through the whole chart as it can suggest the flow of energies in life.  These energies will suggest the likelihood of challenges or of easy flow in achieving our objectives.

Astrology can be used to help us in our life’s endeavors, but we always have the leading role in determining what actions to take.  Astrology should not rule our lives and the decisions we make, but Astrology can be used to assist us when make these decisions.
