THE ART OF FORGIVENESS

In times of utter bitterness and hurt how do we move forward and forgive?  How do we separate ourselves from our ego’s reaction?  Are we strong enough to overcome our ego’s response of hate and bitterness towards someone else due to their action?

Regardless of the event that may have occurred, can you love yourself enough to forgive?

Our growth is stagnated when we entertain hostile feelings of revenge and hate towards someone else.  Forgiveness is not an easy task, especially when these emotions surface from someone’s heinous actions.  Letting go and moving forward can be difficult as the mind relentlessly wants some type of justice.  Things may not seem fair but somehow we must learn to forgive even the most dreadful of actions.

Clutching to hate and wanting vengeance absolutely serves no other purpose than to emotionally tie us to the person we want to separate ourselves from.  The longer we hold onto hate and revenge, the higher the risk that we will develop physical disease.  We are crippling ourselves emotionally and stalling our spiritual development.

How can we develop forgive when someone takes away something we treasure such as our resilience, our serenity or our hope?  There are many excuses for others to carry on in life with total disregard to others and their emotions.  Unfortunately, we have no control over this.  Other’s actions are their responsibility and their karmic lessons.

To live your life in pursuit of so called justice and to be filled with hate and anger only serves to create depression, isolation, sorrow, resentment and the list goes on.  This is not living.  In this state of mind, you will never find solace, peace, growth and all those things needed to experience a fulfilling life.  To initiate letting go and forgiving is perhaps one of the hardest thing that you will have to do in our lives but holding on to grief and resentment is actually even harder.  By holding on, you state to this individual, “You have won.  I give you my life and my happiness.  You are allowed to walk with me and repeat this experience as long as I am going to hold on to your actions”.

By holding on, we continually relive the grief and torment.  Allow karma to serve its purpose and to teach the lessons it needs to.  Karma is the judge and the jury and does not need your help.

Forgiveness is not easy but essential.  Do not identify with the ego’s response.  Want to heal.  Allow love to grow even from of the darkest corners of your being and watch the repercussions from these actions.   THIS is the story waiting to be told.

The Seventh House in Astrology

The Seventh House cusp is known as the Descendant.  This is an angular point suggesting an area of action in the Natal Chart.  When Transiting planets cross this line, “things” happen.  Often these events deal with intimate, one-on-one relationships, such as marriage partners.  It is an action point as is the Ascendant, the Midheaven and the IC, although the Ascendant and Midheaven are more predominant when it comes to action.

When Uranus crosses the Descendant or Seventh House Cusp for example, people will often break away from relationships because of a need for something new and exciting.  There is a strong urge to break free.  When Neptune crosses this area, one often becomes unclear about the future of a relationship--uncertainty reigns.  When Jupiter crosses the Descendant, opportunities can present themselves and you may meet someone important, especially if Venus is involved in the equation.

The seventh house deals primarily with relationships, especially marriage partnership, but it also has to do with one-on-one personal relationships.  This often includes business partnerships and mediation.  This house is also where we locate our open enemies.  The Seventh house rules intimate relationships and as the First House often describes the point of self, the Seventh House refers to the point of others.  It is a social house and takes in other people’s needs as opposed to your own.

Often the sign on the cusp describes the type of individual we would be attracted to.  This house along with any planet found within the house defines these individuals.  Saturn in this house often speaks of a later marriage or difficulty finding an appropriate mate.  Neptune in this house may describe an elusive or mystical individual.

This house brings a greater sense of self-awareness through intimate relationships with others.  We often put out self-projected images onto our partner and the images that you dislike are often reflections of qualities of ourselves or qualities that we fear.  Getting to know your partner often opens us to an innate understanding of our own qualities.  Some qualities we will alter and others we take in and make them our own.

As mentioned, Saturn in this house may suggest that partnerships come a little later in life, but it can also suggest that our partner would be steady, serious and potentially older than ourselves.  Mars could suggest that you are in search for a very active individual who displays sensual characteristic.  It may also suggest that they may be somewhat aggressive in their nature.

As suggested, the sign on the cusp defines the partner and how you react within the relationship, but you must take into consideration the ruling planet of that sign and its placement in the horoscope.

FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR DREAMS

This is your life.  Move forward with the intent to make your dream come true.  Focus within and acknowledge what you truly want from your life.  Make sure it is worthwhile and not some temporary material reward that will fade over time and not give your life true meaning.  Know that this dream can come true.  Believe that it can come true.  Picture it in your mind’s eye--beyond a shadow of a doubt.  Know that it will come.  Meditate on this dream.  Offer it up to the energy of our pure essence and ask for assistance to make it happen.

You deserve it.  Focus on it in order to deliver it.  If you open your eyes to the truth and go deep within, in most cases you will find that you already have what you are looking for.  You just have to allow it to blossom.  Believe that it is possible and take no shortcuts in reaching this objective.  It takes time for anything worthwhile to materialize, but understand that the process has already begun.

Let the past go.  Release yourself of any misconceptions.  Acknowledge your apparent mistakes along your journey and know that you are human.  You are allowed to make mistakes.  Begin anew--right now.  Do not waste another minute being paralyzed by your attitude towards past events.

Your life begins now.  Take control of it and believe that all dreams are attainable.  The only things holding you back are your beliefs or lack thereof.

You can open that door and you can walk through this door at any time you want to leave the past behind.  Hold on to the memories that serve you well and let go of any shortcoming that hinder your progress.  You are a perfect life force.  You are magnificent.  Most importantly, you are loved!

UTILIZE WHAT YOU HAVE AT HAND

Due to the challenging characteristics and the talents that we are born with and the trends unfolding in our lives, we react to situations in a predictive manner. Progressed and transiting planets indicate the on-going phases in your life whereas a Natal Chart offers a tool to assist in the development of your gifts and avenues to overcome the challenges.

STAYING STRONG IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY

There are often times in our lives when we are confronted with pressing issues.  Each issue can vary tremendously.  When the issues are compounded, dealing with these issues can be extremely challenging.  Many of us are aware of the internal resources available during these times of stress.  Unfortunately, there are those individuals that allow themselves to feel powerless to deal with such circumstances.

Some believe that they do not have the courage or determination to tackle these turbulent times.  They define themselves as weak in the face of adversity and often feel as though they are drowning in life’s more difficult events.  It is important, however, to realize that these issues whatever they may be and however difficult they may appear are wonderful opportunities to learn and to grow.  They are not there to present you with an immovable object, although your first impression (which is always the most difficult to handle) might feel that way.  You have the resilience to overcome anything life throws your way.  Do not allow your attitude towards the event to create an even more difficult lesson than it needs to be.

Nothing is ever directed your way that cannot be overcome, but you must persevere and maintain an attitude that will help you alleviate these conditions and eventually overcome them.  You have more strength than you realize.

Confrontation is step one, and although the incident may be overwhelming initially, once you have had time to process and formulate your plan, you can accept the challenge and move forward.  There is no running away from life’s challenges, so should we not face them head on?  Often when you actually confront the issue, it appears less intrusive than first imagined and it no longer appears insurmountable.  The longer you wait to confront the issues, the more you give the incident time to grow and gain strength within your mind.

Nothing is too big for you to tackle.  Nothing!  Our minds tend to magnify many of life’s situations and often the giant when faced, with an attitude of “I can do this”, shrinks down to its actual size.  Sometimes, a simple change of our perception is all that is needed.

Events such as death, which can come in many forms, such as divorce, the end of a condition or the death of our earthly bodies can be tremendous obstacles to overcome.

Once your eyes are wide open and you are ready to deal with the issue, the situation often softens and you are able to move forward with life.  If the condition persists, you might want to look at it from a different angle.

Life can feel very difficult at times, but we all have the tools we need to overcome anything that comes our way.  Stand tall and never hesitate to ask for assistance from family, friends or a professional.  Know that you can learn any lesson life is teaching and channel your thoughts in directions that serve to help the learning process.

EXALTATION, DETRIMENT AND FALL

Along with a planet located in its natural sign (which is very strong and works positively), a planet can also be in exaltation, detriment or fall.  A planet is very at home when located within its natural ruling sign.  The energy of the planet is released easily and finds avenues of expression that suit it.

When a planet is in exaltation, it is comfortable and utilizes the energies well.  It is provided with strength and its energy is released in a positive manner.  The Sun in Aries, the Moon in Taurus, Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Libra, Mars in Capricorn and Venus in Pisces are all indicators of planets in exaltation.  They are able to work more easily with less restriction and function on the high level of that planets energy.

A planet in detriment is suggestive of a planet that does not function very well in a sign.   It has difficulty releasing its energies and is said to be rather negative in its function.  It has to work very hard to achieve what could be much easier to release if it were in exaltation.  Its action is considered negative in that there is difficulty in its expression.  It is weakened due to the sign it is operating in and in some cases if not properly channeled can almost make its natural function absent.  The Sun is in detriment in the sign of Aquarius, the Moon is in detriment in the sign Saturn, Mercury is in detriment in the signs of Pisces and Sagittarius, Venus is in detriment in the signs Aries and Scorpio, Mars is in detriment in the signs Libra and Taurus, Jupiter is in detriment in the sign Virgo and Saturn is in detriment in the signs Leo and Virgo.

When a planet is in its fall, it is incapacitated by the sign and loses all its strength and the energy of the planet is severely restricted.  The energy has a very difficult time releasing and it functions on a very limited basis.  The Sun is in its fall in the sign Libra, the Moon is in its fall in Scorpio, Venus is in its fall in the sign Virgo, Mars is in its fall in the sign Cancer, Jupiter is in its fall in Capricorn and Saturn is in its fall in Aries.  Although these planets are in what is termed their fall, they can be modified by stronger influences within the horoscope and the Sun in Libra may be the easiest to soften.

These indicators are not to be over-accentuated but should be used in moderation when deciphering an Astrology Chart.  They do, however, provide reliable clues with respect to the planetary energies and their release.  The Planets in detriment and in their fall need more maintenance, and you should take into consideration how this may stifle the individual’s expression.  You will need to evaluate the overall Chart and find positive ways to relinquish the challenge that some of these positions may indicate.

If an individual had several planets in detriment and/or in fall, there may be underlying implications that are affecting the self-expression or challenging them to find their path in life.  It would indicate a life that may be filled with challenging situations and obstacles, but these life interferences would undoubtedly push individuals to try even harder to make sense of it all.  These individuals would gain strength as they overcome these obstacles in their life.  There are no bad aspects in a Chart.  There are only challenging conditions that will require attentiveness and assertive action to overcome.

Use this information as a guideline not as a definitive stranglehold on an individual’s overall development or in contrary, ease in development.

PEER PRESSURE AND THE UNFOLDING STORY OF YOU

Most everyone at one point or another succumbs to some form of peer pressure.  Although peer pressure carries far more weight in our formative years, many are influence during their adult years.  Being acceptable to our friends is important and at times we can stray far from our true character to feel as though we fit in.

At some point, we begin to understand the importance of our own uniqueness.  It is at that point that we slowly allow the false face to dissipate and we become confident in who we are and what we stand for.  The fact is that no one knows or sees us the way we do.  We are only denying ourselves when we display a different image to each individual we meet.

When we truly live our lives on purposes, we only have one person to answer to and that is ourselves.  If we were to ask ten people to define us, we would get ten completely different descriptions.  We do not have control over these opinions.  You do, however, have control over your own opinion of you.  Ask yourself, “Who am I really trying to please”?

Many individuals lose themselves along the way when trying to be someone they are not.  Eventually, for our own happiness and contentment, we must come to grips with who we truly are.  Many of us have been on that great search for self and many more are still looking.  Do not be afraid to self examine.  Without self examination, we are lost within ourselves.  If we are truly honest with ourselves, we would come to the conclusion that the best person we can be is ourselves.

Accepting who we are is a very significant step in self-realization.  The difficulty lies in facing those qualities that we dislike.  Self-awareness is a process that can be painful at times, but confronting our less desirable characteristics is the first step needed for true change (not masking the issue).  We cannot make changes without being aware of what changes need to be made.

Again, being truly honest with yourself (you need to look at this from all angles), you will discover character traits that are quite admirable.  These strengths are truly you.  Take a moment and write down with complete honesty your challenging personality characteristics as well as your more encouraging character traits.  This initiates the process.   Acknowledgement is always step one.  As you uncover these characteristics decide whether you want them to be part of the true you or are they something that you want to toss away and no longer identify with.

Each time you notice these habits or traits you are eliminating in your life, remind yourself that these are not who you are and that you no longer identify with them.  It takes time to form habits and it will take time for this elimination process to come to fruition.

Once we have conquered our first hurdle, we can repeat the process and do another review.  It does take time, but it is well worth the effort.  Happiness comes from releasing this unwanted baggage from our identity so that we can be who we truly are.  If we are unhappy with our lives, the true person is not being allowed to shine through.

Do not follow the crowd.  If you do, will you be happy with yourself when the crowd is not with you?  Be yourself always.  YOU are the best person for you to experience this life with!
