Wherever you have Natal Jupiter in your birth chart often reflects a part of life that has potential for development and expansion. Depending on how challenged Jupiter is in your chart by other Natal positions (planets or angles), it often is associated with good luck, easy flow, and opportunities. It is known as “the greater benefic”. (As a side note, Venus, known as “the lessor benefic” represent placements in our charts where the opportunity for growth and good fortune have possibility and when these two planets are in harmony with one another by aspect, this indicates an even more fortunate condition).
When
Transiting Saturn makes a challenging aspect to Jupiter (we are talking about
the energies of Jupiter with this transit, not Venus), we will have a difficult
time pushing through adversity or challenge because Saturn, among other things,
restricts progress when in challenging aspect.
Saturn tends
to challenge us, by putting up roadblocks in order to teach lessons and slows
the process down considerably (like learning patience is involved). Saturn is restrictive energy when in
challenging aspect and teaches us valuable lessons that perhaps we would choose
not to learn if by chance we had a choice.
Saturn is the disciplinarian and the teacher.
Jupiter’s
energies, on the other hand, are quite promising and, in many cases, opens the
door for us to learn from these experiences, but this does not mean that the
lesson will be easy.
Oppositions often involve other people bringing different perspectives to light. They often interact with us or have some influence on our decision making. With an opposition between Saturn, which can be quite debilitating, and Jupiter, which can be quite uplifting, we must find a way to integrate these two energies and not become too negative because certain things we might be striving towards do not work out exactly the way we might wish they would. We now have a chance to see things from different perspectives, and we can find a way to look a little in both directions and not be so focused in one direction or the other. If we are the negative type, we might believe that things will never work out so why proceed, and if we were of a more positive attitude we might believe that not to worry as things will work out just fine. We need to find a compromise and work things out in such a way that we are not disappointed but at the same time we do not expecting things to be perfect.
With Transiting
Saturn Opposition Natal Jupiter, the combination of these two powerhouses
provides a chance for personal development and growth through actual
experience.
Check the
rest of the chart to see what this aspect might mean in your particular
case. Always look at the other transits
as well and their meanings in order to find a clear understanding of what potential
is available in your ever-expanding life experience.
